  • Upload & Link an Image with php

    I know this should be really simple, but im having trouble getting this to work right, basically i want to have an image upload box that uploads an image and then puts the new url into a mysql database. Anyone have any advice on how to do this, as i may be having developer block but im over complicating it in my head :P Thanks

  • Script that replaces strings doesn't work on some sites

    I've created a simple Chrome extension that seeks for certain strings using regex and replaces matches with predefined text. It works well on most websites, but somehow the script doesn't take effect on, for example, Lifehacker (like this page http://lifehacker.com/5939740/five-best-audio-editing-applications?popular=true ). The code is: $('p, h1, h2, h3, span, .content, .post-body').each(function(){ //do something with $(this) }); Any ideas why is Lifehacker's site resistant to my script?

    Suppose that I have two numpy arrays of the form x = [[1,2] [2,4] [3,6] [4,NaN] [5,10]] y = [[0,-5] [1,0] [2,5] [5,20] [6,25]] is there an efficient way to merge them such that I have xmy = [[0, NaN, -5 ] [1, 2, 0 ] [2, 4, 5 ] [3, 6, NaN] [4, NaN, NaN] [5, 10, 20 ] [6, NaN, 25 ] I can implement a simple function using search to find the index but this is not elegant and potentially inefficient for a lot of arrays and large dimensions. Any pointer is appreciated.

It looks like this: $('myButton').click(function() { $('body').highlight($('#myInputText').val()); }); But I wonder how can I do the Chrome like highlighting, I mean highlight the letters whenever I type in some letter in textbox without submitting. I think maybe use a keyup event... Any ideas?

    Here's an excerpt from Sun's Java tutorials: A switch works with the byte, short, char, and int primitive data types. It also works with enumerated types (discussed in Classes and Inheritance) and a few special classes that "wrap" certain primitive types: Character, Byte, Short, and Integer (discussed in Simple Data Objects ). There must be a good reason why the long primitive data type is not allowed. Anyone know what it is?

  • can't connect Java client to C server.

    I have a very simple server written in C and an equally simple client written in Java. When I run them both on the same computer everything works, but when I try to run the server on computer A and the client on computer B, I get the error IOException connection refused from the java client. I can't seem to find out whats happening, any thoughts? The function should, given a node, return the node itself or any of its children such that the probability of choosing a node is normally distributed relative to its depth (so the function should return mostly middle nodes, but sometimes the root itself or the lowest ones - but that's not really necessary if that makes it significantly more complex, if all any node is chosen with equal probability, that's good enough). I see in the Python 3.1 documentation that this is fairly simple, but the facilities for doing this in 2.6 don't seem to be there. If the methods described in 3.1 aren't available, is there a way to close stdin and reopen in in binary mode?
