What approaches do I have ? is there a way to run an ASP file with an ASP.NET engine ? are there tools to automatically convert ASP to ASP.NET and do they work on complex websites ? other approaches ?   • cake's Acl problems...

    I created an application using the method described in the "http:// book.cakephp.org/view/641/Simple-Acl-controlled-Application" but after I try to log in there is an error which says, "DbAcl::allow() - Invalid node [CORE\cake\libs\controller\components\acl.php, line 325]" I did exactly same as mentioned in the website but after loggin in I am given this error msg..     In general, If I have a choice when developing a web site to use html elements or asp.net controls which one is better to use if my website is interactive with server side operations such as accessing database. Is it more secure to use asp.net controls or does not matter. On other words, is it more secure to use asp.net controls instead of html element to deliver data or receive data from/to server side or no differences?

  • IE8 doctype changing

    I am currently using an XHTML 1.0 transitional doctype on my vBulletin website. The page in question is PHP. The source (view source) of this page verifies that the XHTML 1.0 transitional doctype is on the page. Upon downloading (File Save As) the page in IE8, I realized that my doctype had been replaced with an HTML 4.0 transitional doctype. Why does IE8 change the doctype? Why isn't the doctype its chosen displayed in the "View Source"?

To develop this website we have used Joomla framework, and we have used Ckeditor in it, for uploading files(pdf, images etc ). Also we have installed Ckeditor in the server. But for some reason we are getting an internal 500 server error. Could anyone please help us to solve this issue?

However if you go into the site and click any link say web-design You can see that the default template is no longer being displayed.   • Cannot render images locally with Sql Server 2005 Report Services SOAP service calls

    I am trying to render images from SSRS 2005 via the SOAP call. When the reports service is installed on the same server as my website, the images generated do not render in the page. However, when I connect to the reporting service URL from the same web code on a separate machine the images render just fine. Is there a dependency that I am missing to allow me to run the web and SSRS on the same box?

What's the easiest way to add a "Featured Section" that accomplishes this? I know I can go through and make the post sticky but that seems tedious.     Hello, I migrated my application to a new server (from a VPS to a dedicated) yesterday and the password protection which was working correctly on the previous server (using .htaccess file - asking username/pass) doesn't work anymore : anyone can access the website without being asked to enter a username pass. I don't really have a clue why it's not working anymore as I kept everything the same.
