    I'm simply trying to set a value for an input but it doesn't work. Here is my form : <input id="start_date" name="start_date" type="text" size="6" /> Should I put somewhere the id of the form that I want to use?     Hi, I have an IE problem. I am using the jquery ajax method to call a php script. The php script just calls die(). In firefox, the error message is displayed, but in IE the success message is displayed without any data. I would prefer the error function to be called. Is there any way to fix this? I'm guessing my javascript code needs change somehow.   • link_to syntax with rails3 (link_to_remote) and basic javascript not working in a rails3 app?

    i am wondering if the basic link_to syntax is completely broken in current rails3 master or if i am doing some wrong syntax here. = link_to "name", nil, :onlick => "alert('Hello world!');" should actually produce an alert on click. very simple. does not work on my rails3 project! (also no error output!) any ideas? for the general link_to syntax i could not find an example where i could combine a link_to_remote with a confirmation, remote and html class (see my try below) = link_to "delete", {:action => "destroy", :remote => true, :method => :delete, :confirm => "#{a.title} wirklich L&ouml;schen?" }, :class => "trash" even the rails3 api does not help me here: http://rails3api.s3.amazonaws.com/index.html help!

    Is it possible check the Accessibility of a page before loading it? I have a form, running on mobile device using wireless connection. The problem is: not always this connection is avaible and i would like to alert the user when is doing a submit or an unload of the page. The problem is that the page contains elements doing redirect like this: <input type="button" value="MyText" onClick="script1;script2;...window.location='mylocation" /> If the user click on this button and the server is not achievable, i will recive some undesiderable errors. Also if I want to generalize my script i do not know the value of "mylocation" previously.     I am making a web page which will allow users to input and view data for different dates, and to change the date, there are two buttons, one of which will display the previous day, and one which will show the next day. I know that I can do this by submitting forms and reloading the page every time they press one of these buttons, but I would rather use javascript and not have to submit a form, but I am having troubles getting it to work. So here are my questions: 1) Is it possible to dynamically change data (such as text, and in the future, SQL queries) on a page using javascript without having to reload a page when clicking on a button? 2) If possible, how can I make those changes? 3) How can I fix this so that it will increment and decrement through dates every time a button is clicked?

    I added format.js to my controller, yet I still cannot get the js in index.js.erb to execute when I view my index page. The only thing I can figure out is that it must be because of the model name. I had to add ActiveSupport::Inflector.inflections do |inflect| inflect.irregular 'business', 'businesses' end to my inflections.rb file...because my model is called Business. my views/js are located at views/businesses/* Please help before I pull my hair out! All I have in the index.js.erb file is: alert(1); Obviously the goal is that I will get an alert when I finally get the issue fixed, letting me know it is working.

    Hello, I have a problem: I've add a Jquery UI drag-n-drop widget to my page, but after that I can't type anything into inputs or textareas. I use jQuery 1.4.2 and jQuery UI 1.8rc3, and tiny_mce for convert textareas into WYSIWUG editor (I've tried to disable tiny_mce). When I put $("input").click( function(){ alert('clicked!'); }); - it's working(I have an alert). When I get focused to any input I even can't refresh page by F5 and go to the next element by Tab key.     i want to get a event that will fire when i click inside a td of a html table i had this: ('td').live('click', function() { alert($(this).attr('id')); }); which works but this fires inside the 'th" cells as well (not sure why). is there any selector that just fires inside td's and not th's. I'm writing a chrome extension and this should get the current tab's url and set the html of #current-tab to the url (for testing purposes).
