  • How to use c++0x thread in Android NDK?

    - by m-ric
    I am trying to compile this simple program with android-ndk-r8b: jni/hello_jni.cpp #include <iostream> #include <thread> void hello() { std::cout << "Hi i'm a thread!!!" << std::endl; } int main() { std::thread th(hello); th.join(); return 0; } jni/Application.mk APP_OPTIM := release APP_MODULES := hello_thread APP_STL := gnustl_static jni/Android.mk LOCAL_PATH := $(call my-dir) include $(CLEAR_VARS) LOCAL_CPPFLAGS += -std=c++0x -frtti LOCAL_MODULE := hello_thread LOCAL_LDLIBS := -L$(SYSROOT)/usr/lib -pthread LOCAL_SRC_FILES := hello_thread.cpp include $(BUILD_EXECUTABLE) ndk-build returns me an error arguin that 'thread' is not a member of 'std'. I issued ndk-build -n to get the compilation command and issued it alone in my shell: /home/evigier/android-ndk-r8b/toolchains/arm-linux-androideabi-4.6/prebuilt/linux-x86/bin/arm-linux-androideabi-g++ -MMD -MP -MF /home/evigier/eclipse_workspace/hello_thread/obj/local/armeabi/objs/hello_thread/hello_thread.o.d -fpic -ffunction-sections -funwind-tables -fstack-protector -D__ARM_ARCH_5__ -D__ARM_ARCH_5T__ -D__ARM_ARCH_5E__ -D__ARM_ARCH_5TE__ -march=armv5te -mtune=xscale -msoft-float -fno-exceptions -fno-rtti -mthumb -Os -fomit-frame-pointer -fno-strict-aliasing -finline-limit=64 -I/home/evigier/android-ndk-r8b/sources/cxx-stl/gnu-libstdc++/4.6/include -I/home/evigier/android-ndk-r8b/sources/cxx-stl/gnu-libstdc++/4.6/libs/armeabi/include -I/home/evigier/eclipse_workspace/hello_thread/jni -DANDROID -Wa,--noexecstack -std=c++0x -frtti -O2 -DNDEBUG -g -I/home/evigier/android-ndk-r8b/platforms/android-14/arch-arm/usr/include -c /home/evigier/eclipse_workspace/hello_thread/jni/hello_thread.cpp -o /home/evigier/eclipse_workspace/hello_thread/obj/local/armeabi/objs/hello_thread/hello_thread.o Compile++ thumb : hello_thread <= hello_thread.cpp In file included from /home/evigier/android-ndk-r8b/platforms/android-14/arch-arm/usr/include/stdio.h:55:0, from /home/evigier/android-ndk-r8b/platforms/android-14/arch-arm/usr/include/wchar.h:33, from /home/evigier/android-ndk-r8b/sources/cxx-stl/gnu-libstdc++/4.6/include/cwchar:46, from /home/evigier/android-ndk-r8b/sources/cxx-stl/gnu-libstdc++/4.6/include/bits/postypes.h:42, from /home/evigier/android-ndk-r8b/sources/cxx-stl/gnu-libstdc++/4.6/include/iosfwd:42, from /home/evigier/android-ndk-r8b/sources/cxx-stl/gnu-libstdc++/4.6/include/ios:39, from /home/evigier/android-ndk-r8b/sources/cxx-stl/gnu-libstdc++/4.6/include/ostream:40, from /home/evigier/android-ndk-r8b/sources/cxx-stl/gnu-libstdc++/4.6/include/iostream:40, from jni/hello_thread.cpp:4: /home/evigier/android-ndk-r8b/platforms/android-14/arch-arm/usr/include/sys/types.h:124:9: error: 'uint64_t' does not name a type /home/evigier/eclipse_workspace/hello_thread/jni/hello_thread.cpp: In function 'int main()': /home/evigier/eclipse_workspace/hello_thread/jni/hello_thread.cpp:14:5: error: 'thread' is not a member of 'std' /home/evigier/eclipse_workspace/hello_thread/jni/hello_thread.cpp:14:17: error: expected ';' before 'th' /home/evigier/eclipse_workspace/hello_thread/jni/hello_thread.cpp:15:5: error: 'th' was not declared in this scope I read a lot of threads/questions about POSIX threads and C++ threads, but still cannot find my answer. My arm-linux-androideabi/include/c++/4.6/thread file defines class thread in std only: #if defined(_GLIBCXX_HAS_GTHREADS) && defined(_GLIBCXX_USE_C99_STDINT_TR1) They don't seem to be defined in my sdk (c++config.h). But how can I possibly turn them on safely? Do i need to compile my own toolchain to use (non-p)threads?   • pyQt4: QWidget subclass not responding to new setStyleSheet() background colour

    - by Ronny
    I am having an issue with PyQt4. I want to create a new widget within a window, and I want this widget to have a custom color. When i create a subclass of the QWidget class, and instantiate it, I am not able to change its background color through the setStyleSheet() function. When I instantiate a new QWidget object, I have no problems in changing its background color. But i dont want an ordinary QWidget object.I want to create my own subclass of QWidget. When i create a subclass of a QPushButton, I am also able to change its background color using the setStyleSheet() function. There are no error messages or warnings in the console window, it just refuses to work properly without any indication as to why. So what i would like to know is why is it that i can change the background color of a widget if i simply create a QWidget object, or a subclass of QPushButton, but not when i create a subclass of QWidget. And how can i therefore change the background color of an object that is a subclass of QWidget? Is it maybe something specific to the version of python or PyQt that i am using? Is it a bug in the library? or some flaw in the way that i am writing my code? I am using python 2.6.4 and PyQt4 Below is an example of the code that leads me to trouble. There are three widgets within the window one below the other. The parent widget is set with background color of green. The top widget is set to red, the middle one, is the subclass of QWidget, which should be blue, but it appears invisible because it takes on the color of the parent window for some reason. and the bottom widget is a subclass of QPushButton and is white. import sys from PyQt4 import QtGui, QtCore ################################################################################ #--------------------------------------------------------- CUSTOM WIDGET CLASS 1 class CustomWidget(QtGui.QWidget): def __init__(self, parent): QtGui.QWidget.__init__(self, parent) # some custom properties and functions will follow ################################################################################ #--------------------------------------------------------- CUSTOM WIDGET CLASS 2 class CustomWidget2(QtGui.QPushButton): def __init__(self, parent): QtGui.QPushButton.__init__(self, parent) # some custom properties and functions will follow ################################################################################ #----------------------------------------------------------- PARENT WIDGET CLASS class Parent(QtGui.QWidget): def __init__(self, parent=None): #---------------------------------------------------------- SETUP WINDOW QtGui.QWidget.__init__(self, parent) self.resize(500, 340) self.setStyleSheet("QWidget {background-color: #00FF00}") #-------------------------------------------------- SETUP DEFAULT WIDGET wid1 = QtGui.QWidget(self) wid1.setGeometry(10, 10, 480, 100) wid1.setStyleSheet("QWidget {background-color: #FF0000 }") #------------------------------------------------- SETUP CUSTOM WIDGET 1 wid2 = CustomWidget(self) wid2.setGeometry(10, 120, 480, 100) wid2.setStyleSheet("QWidget {background-color: #0000FF }") for i in dir(wid2): print i #------------------------------------------------- SETUP CUSTOM WIDGET 2 wid3 = CustomWidget2(self) wid3.setGeometry(10, 230, 480, 100) wid3.setStyleSheet("QWidget {background-color: #FFFFFF }") ################################################################################ #-------------------------------------------------------------------------- MAIN app = QtGui.QApplication(sys.argv) win = Parent() win.show() app.exec_()

  • Why would Java classloading fail on Linux, but succeed on Windows?

    - by arnsholt
    I've got a Java web application (using Spring), deployed with Jetty. If I try to run it on a Windows machine everything works as expected, but if I try to run the same code on my Linux machine, it fails like this: [normal startup output] 11:16:39.657 INFO [main] org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.ServletHandler$Context.log(ServletHandler.java:1145) 16 Set web app root system property: 'webapp.root' = [/path/to/working/dir] java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) at org.mortbay.start.Main.invokeMain(Main.java:151) at org.mortbay.start.Main.start(Main.java:476) at org.mortbay.start.Main.main(Main.java:94) Caused by: java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError at org.springframework.web.util.Log4jWebConfigurer.initLogging(Log4jWebConfigurer.java:129) at org.springframework.web.util.Log4jConfigListener.contextInitialized(Log4jConfigListener.java:51) at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.WebApplicationContext.doStart(WebApplicationContext.java:495) at org.mortbay.util.Container.start(Container.java:72) at org.mortbay.http.HttpServer.doStart(HttpServer.java:708) at org.mortbay.util.Container.start(Container.java:72) at org.mortbay.jetty.Server.main(Server.java:460) ... 7 more Caused by: org.apache.commons.logging.LogConfigurationException: org.apache.commons.logging.LogConfigurationException: No suitable Log constructor [Ljava.lang.Class;@15311bd for org.apache.commons.logging.impl.Log4JLogger (Caused by java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/log4j/Category) (Caused by org.apache.commons.logging.LogConfigurationException: No suitable Log constructor [Ljava.lang.Class;@15311bd for org.apache.commons.logging.impl.Log4JLogger (Caused by java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/log4j/Category)) at org.apache.commons.logging.impl.LogFactoryImpl.newInstance(LogFactoryImpl.java:543) at org.apache.commons.logging.impl.LogFactoryImpl.getInstance(LogFactoryImpl.java:235) at org.apache.commons.logging.impl.LogFactoryImpl.getInstance(LogFactoryImpl.java:209) at org.apache.commons.logging.LogFactory.getLog(LogFactory.java:351) at org.springframework.util.SystemPropertyUtils.(SystemPropertyUtils.java:42) ... 14 more Caused by: org.apache.commons.logging.LogConfigurationException: No suitable Log constructor [Ljava.lang.Class;@15311bd for org.apache.commons.logging.impl.Log4JLogger (Caused by java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/log4j/Category) at org.apache.commons.logging.impl.LogFactoryImpl.getLogConstructor(LogFactoryImpl.java:413) at org.apache.commons.logging.impl.LogFactoryImpl.newInstance(LogFactoryImpl.java:529) ... 18 more Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/log4j/Category at java.lang.Class.getDeclaredConstructors0(Native Method) at java.lang.Class.privateGetDeclaredConstructors(Class.java:2389) at java.lang.Class.getConstructor0(Class.java:2699) at java.lang.Class.getConstructor(Class.java:1657) at org.apache.commons.logging.impl.LogFactoryImpl.getLogConstructor(LogFactoryImpl.java:410) ... 19 more Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.log4j.Category at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:200) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:188) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:307) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:252) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(ClassLoader.java:320) ... 24 more [shutdown output] I've run the app with java -verbose:class, and according to that output, org.apache.log4j.Category is loaded from the log4j JAR in my /WEB-INF/lib, just before the first exception is thrown. Now, the Java versions on the two machines are slightly different. Both the machines have Sun's java, the Linux machine has 1.6.0_10, while the Windows machine has 1.6.0_08, or maybe 07 or 06, I can't remember the exact number right now, and don't have the machine at hand. But even though the minor versions of the Javas are slightly different, the code shouldn't break like this. Does anyone understand what's wrong here?

  • Adding OutputCache to a WebForm crashes my site :(

    - by Pure.Krome
    Hi folks, When I add either ... <%@ OutputCache Duration="600" Location="Any" VaryByParam="*" %> or <%@ OutputCache CacheProfile="CmsArticlesListOrItem" %> (.. and this into the web.config file...) <caching> <outputCacheSettings> <outputCacheProfiles> <add name="CmsArticlesListOrItem" duration="600" varyByParam="*" /> </outputCacheProfiles> </outputCacheSettings> <sqlCacheDependency ........ ></sqlCacheDependency </caching> my page/site crashes with the following error:- Source: System.Web ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- TargetSite: System.Web.DirectoryMonitor FindDirectoryMonitor(System.String, Boolean, Boolean) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Message:System.Web.HttpException: Directory 'C:\Web Sites\My Site Foo - Main Site\Controls\InfoAdvice' does not exist. Failed to start monitoring file changes. at System.Web.FileChangesMonitor.FindDirectoryMonitor(String dir, Boolean addIfNotFound, Boolean throwOnError) at System.Web.FileChangesMonitor.StartMonitoringPath(String alias, FileChangeEventHandler callback, FileAttributesData& fad) at System.Web.Caching.CacheDependency.Init(Boolean isPublic, String[] filenamesArg, String[] cachekeysArg, CacheDependency dependency, DateTime utcStart) at System.Web.Caching.CacheDependency..ctor(Int32 dummy, String[] filenames, DateTime utcStart) at System.Web.Hosting.MapPathBasedVirtualPathProvider.GetCacheDependency(String virtualPath, IEnumerable virtualPathDependencies, DateTime utcStart) at System.Web.ResponseDependencyList.CreateCacheDependency(CacheDependencyType dependencyType, CacheDependency dependency) at System.Web.HttpResponse.CreateCacheDependencyForResponse(CacheDependency dependencyVary) at System.Web.Caching.OutputCacheModule.InsertResponse(HttpResponse response, HttpContext context, String keyRawResponse, HttpCachePolicySettings settings, CachedVary cachedVary, CachedRawResponse memoryRawResponse) at System.Web.Caching.OutputCacheModule.OnLeave(Object source, EventArgs eventArgs) at System.Web.HttpApplication.SyncEventExecutionStep.System.Web.HttpApplication.IExecutionStep.Execute() at System.Web.HttpApplication.ExecuteStep(IExecutionStep step, Boolean& completedSynchronously) Ok .. so for some reason, the OutputCache wants a folder/file to be there? Well, i've had this site live for around 3 years and i'm pretty sure that the folders \Controls and \Controls\InfoAdvice doesn't exist on my production server. On my localhost, it sure does .. and contains a large list of ascx controls. But they don't exist on my live server. So ... what is going on here? Can anyone please help? Oh :) Before someone suggests I create those two folders and even stick a random file in those folders .. and have some random text in those random files .. i've done that and it doesn't seem to work, still :( Please Help !

  • OnExit is not entering via PostSharp in asp.net project.

    - by mark smith
    Hi there, I have setup PostSharp and it appears to be working but i don't get it entering OnExit (i have logged setup to ensure it is working) ... Its a bit tricky to configure with asp.net - or is it just me ... I am using the 1.5 new version I basically have the following in my web.config and i had to add the SearchPath otherwise it can't find my assemblies <postsharp directory="C:\Program Files\PostSharp 1.5" trace="true"> <parameters> <!--<add name="parameter-name" value="parameter-value"/>--> </parameters> <searchPath> <!-- Always add the binary folder to the search path. --> <add name="bin" value="~\bin"/> </searchPath> </postsharp> I have set tracing on but what is strange to me is that it appears to build to the temp directory, maybe this is my issue, i am unsure .. hence i do F5 ... Is it possible to name the Output directory and output file?? As you can see it is editing a DLL in the temp dir so IIS is no longer in control so it doesn't execute it ??? Confused! :-) C:\Program Files\PostSharp 1.5\postsharp.exe "/P:Output=C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files\mysitemvc-1.2\c2087140\8ac2dc93\postsharp\App_Web_04ae3ewy.dll" "/P:IntermediateDirectory=C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files\mysitemvc-1.2\c2087140\8ac2dc93\postsharp " /P:CleanIntermediate=False /P:ReferenceDirectory=. /P:SignAssembly=False /P:PrivateKeyLocation= /P:ResolvedReferences= "/P:SearchPath=C:\Source Code\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\mysitemvc\mysitemvc\bin," /V /SkipAutoUpdate "C:\Program Files\PostSharp 1.5\Default.psproj" "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files\mysitemvc-1.2\c2087140\8ac2dc93\before-postsharp\App_Web_04ae3ewy.dll" PostSharp 1.5 [1.5.6.627] - Copyright (c) Gael Fraiteur, 2005-2009. info PS0035: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\ilasm.exe "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files\mysitemvc-1.2\c2087140\8ac2dc93\postsharp\App_Web_04ae3ewy.il" /QUIET /DLL /PDB "/RESOURCE=C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files\mysitemvc-1.2\c2087140\8ac2dc93\postsharp\App_Web_04ae3ewy.res" "/OUTPUT=C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files\mysitemvc-1.2\c2087140\8ac2dc93\postsharp\App_Web_04ae3ewy.dll" /SUBSYSTEM=3 /FLAGS=1 /BASE=18481152 /STACK=1048576 /ALIGNMENT=512 /MDV=v2.0.50727

  • JNI loses reference to native methods

    - by lhw
    As an example for later use in Android I wrote a simple callback interface. While doing so i ran into the following error or bug or whatever. In C the two commented lines are supposed to be executed resulting in calling the C callback onChange. But instead i get an UnsatisfiedLinkError. Calling the native Method directly in Java works just fine. Calling it directly from C as presented here in the example also produces the UnsatisfiedLinkError. I'm open for any advice concerning this issue or work arounds and so on. The Java Part: import java.util.LinkedList; import java.util.Random; interface Listener { public void onChange(float f); } class Provider { LinkedList<Listener> all; public Provider() { all = new LinkedList<Listener>(); } public void registerChange(Listener lst) { all.add(lst); } public void sendMsg() { Random rnd = new Random(); for(Listener l : all) { try { l.onChange(rnd.nextFloat()); } catch(Exception e) { System.out.println(e); } } } } class Inheritance implements Listener { static public void main(String[] args) { System.load(System.getProperty("user.dir") + "/libinheritance.so"); } public native void onChange(float f); } The C Part: #include "inheritance.h" jint JNI_OnLoad(JavaVM *jvm, void *reserved) { JNIEnv *env; (*jvm)->GetEnv(jvm, (void**)&env, JNI_VERSION_1_4); inheritance = (*env)->FindClass(env, "Inheritance"); o_inheritance = (*env)->NewObject(env, inheritance, (*env)->GetMethodID(env, inheritance, "<init>", "()V")); provider = (*env)->FindClass(env, "Provider"); o_provider = (*env)->NewObject(env, provider, (*env)->GetMethodID(env, provider, "<init>", "()V")); (*env)->CallVoidMethod(env, o_inheritance, (*env)->GetMethodID(env, inheritance, "onChange", "(F)V"), 1.0); //(*env)->CallVoidMethod(env, o_provider, (*env)->GetMethodID(env, provider, "registerChange", "(LListener;)V"), o_inheritance); //(*env)->CallVoidMethod(env, o_provider, (*env)->GetMethodID(env, provider, "sendMsg", "()V")); (*env)->DeleteLocalRef(env, o_inheritance); (*env)->DeleteLocalRef(env, o_provider); return JNI_VERSION_1_4; } JNIEXPORT void JNICALL Java_Inheritance_onChange(JNIEnv *env, jobject self, jfloat f) { printf("[C] %f\n", f); } The header file: #include <jni.h> /* Header for class Inheritance */ #ifndef _Included_Inheritance #define _Included_Inheritance #ifdef __cplusplus extern "C" { #endif jclass inheritance, provider; jobject o_inheritance, o_provider; /* * Class: Inheritance * Method: onChange * Signature: (F)V */ JNIEXPORT void JNICALL Java_Inheritance_onChange(JNIEnv *, jobject, jfloat); jint JNI_OnLoad(JavaVM *, void *); #ifdef __cplusplus } #endif #endif Compilation: gcc -c -fPIC -I /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk/include -I /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk/include/linux/inheritance.c inheritance.h gcc -g -o -shared libinheritance.so -shared -Wl,-soname,libinheritance.so -lc inheritance.o

  • Java fatal error, don't know what it means

    - by Thomas King
    It happens at the same place in my code (albeit not the first time the method is executed) but I can't make head or tail of what is wrong. (Doubly so as it's code for a robot). Be most appreciative if someone can give me an idea of what kind of problem it is. I assume it's to do with threading (multi-threaded app) but I don't really know what?!? Worried as deadline for uni project is looming!!! • Installing PyGraphViz on Windows, Python 2.7

    - by user574043
    I can't install pygraphviz on Windows XP. I'm using Python27. Before to launch the setup I've changet these two variables of the setup.py file library_path="C:\\Archivos de programa\\Graphviz 2.28\\bin" include_path="C:\\Archivos de programa\\Graphviz 2.28\\include\\graphviz" Then I've launched the setup. I'm using mingw32 as a compiler. I don't know what can I do now. I'm using the following command: C:\Python27\pygraphviz-1.1>c:\python27\python setup.py build -c mingw32 And I've got the folling result library_path=C:\Archivos de programa\Graphviz 2.28\bin include_path=C:\Archivos de programa\Graphviz 2.28\include\graphviz running build running build_py running build_ext building 'pygraphviz._graphviz' extension C:\MinGW\bin\gcc.exe -mno-cygwin -mdll -O -Wall "-IC:\Archivos de programa\Graphviz 2.28\include\graphviz" -Ic:\python27\include -Ic:\python 27\PC -c pygraphviz/graphviz_wrap.c -o build\temp.win32-2.7\Release\pygraphviz\graphviz_wrap.o pygraphviz/graphviz_wrap.c: In function 'agattr_label': pygraphviz/graphviz_wrap.c:2855:5: warning: return makes integer from pointer without a cast writing build\temp.win32-2.7\Release\pygraphviz\_graphviz.def Traceback (most recent call last): File "setup.py", line 146, in <module> package_data = package_data File "c:\python27\lib\distutils\core.py", line 152, in setup dist.run_commands() File "c:\python27\lib\distutils\dist.py", line 953, in run_commands self.run_command(cmd) File "c:\python27\lib\distutils\dist.py", line 972, in run_command cmd_obj.run() File "c:\python27\lib\distutils\command\build.py", line 127, in run self.run_command(cmd_name) File "c:\python27\lib\distutils\cmd.py", line 326, in run_command self.distribution.run_command(command) File "c:\python27\lib\distutils\dist.py", line 972, in run_command cmd_obj.run() File "c:\python27\lib\distutils\command\build_ext.py", line 340, in run self.build_extensions() File "c:\python27\lib\distutils\command\build_ext.py", line 449, in build_extensions self.build_extension(ext) File "c:\python27\lib\distutils\command\build_ext.py", line 531, in build_extension target_lang=language) File "c:\python27\lib\distutils\ccompiler.py", line 741, in link_shared_object extra_preargs, extra_postargs, build_temp, target_lang) File "c:\python27\lib\distutils\cygwinccompiler.py", line 260, in link target_lang) File "c:\python27\lib\distutils\unixccompiler.py", line 218, in link libraries) File "c:\python27\lib\distutils\ccompiler.py", line 1121, in gen_lib_options opt = compiler.runtime_library_dir_option(dir) File "c:\python27\lib\distutils\unixccompiler.py", line 285, in runtime_library_dir_option compiler = os.path.basename(sysconfig.get_config_var("CC")) File "c:\python27\lib\ntpath.py", line 198, in basename return split(p)[1] File "c:\python27\lib\ntpath.py", line 170, in split d, p = splitdrive(p) File "c:\python27\lib\ntpath.py", line 125, in splitdrive if p[1:2] == ':': TypeError: 'NoneType' object is not subscriptable Any idea on how to solve it over windows?   • c# Uploading files to ftp server

    - by etarvt
    Hi there, I have a problem with uploading files to ftp server. I have a few buttons. Every button uploads different files to the ftp. The first time when a button is clicked the file is uploaded successfully, but the second and later tries fail. It gives me "The operation has timed out". When I close the site and then open it again I can upload again only one file. I am sure that I can override files on the ftp. Here's the code: protected void btn_export_OnClick(object sender, EventArgs e) { Stream stream = new MemoryStream(); stream.Position = 0; // fill the stream bool res = this.UploadFile(stream, "test.csv", "dir"); stream.Close(); } private bool UploadFile(Stream stream, string filename, string ftp_dir) { stream.Seek(0, SeekOrigin.Begin); string uri = String.Format("ftp://{0}/{1}/{2}", "host", ftp_dir, filename); try { FtpWebRequest reqFTP = (FtpWebRequest)FtpWebRequest.Create(new Uri(uri)); reqFTP.Credentials = new NetworkCredential("user", "pass"); reqFTP.Method = WebRequestMethods.Ftp.UploadFile; reqFTP.KeepAlive = false; reqFTP.UseBinary = true; reqFTP.UsePassive = true; reqFTP.ContentLength = stream.Length; reqFTP.EnableSsl = true; // it's FTPES type of ftp int buffLen = 2048; byte[] buff = new byte[buffLen]; int contentLen; try { Stream ftpStream = reqFTP.GetRequestStream(); contentLen = stream.Read(buff, 0, buffLen); while (contentLen != 0) { ftpStream.Write(buff, 0, contentLen); contentLen = stream.Read(buff, 0, buffLen); } ftpStream.Flush(); ftpStream.Close(); } catch (Exception exc) { this.lbl_error.Text = "Error:<br />" + exc.Message; this.lbl_error.Visible = true; return false; } } catch (Exception exc) { this.lbl_error.Text = "Error:<br />" + exc.Message; this.lbl_error.Visible = true; return false; } return true; } Does anyone have idea what may cause this strange behaviour? I think I'm closing all streams accurately. Could this be related with the ftp server settings? The admin said that the ftp handshake never happened second time.

  • Why touching "d_name" makes calls to readdir() fail?

    - by Sarah Mani
    Hi, I'm trying to write a little helper for Windows which eventually will accept a file extension as an argument and return the number of files of that kind in the current directory. To do so, I'm reading the file entries in the directories and after getting the extension I'd like to convert it to lowercase to compare it with the yet-to-add specified argument. When converting the extension to lowercase I found that touching even a duplicate string of the d_name variable will cause a strange behaviour, like no more calls to readdir are called. Here is the code I'm using right now (the commented code is preliminary) and outputs for a given directory: #include <ctype.h> #include <dirent.h> #include <stdio.h> #include <string.h> char * strrch(char *string, size_t elements, char character) { char *reverse = string + elements; while (--reverse != string) if (*reverse == character) return reverse; return NULL; } void test(char *string) { // Even being a duplicate will make it fail: char *str = strdup(string); printf("Strings: %s %s\n", string, str); *str = 'a'; printf("Strings: %s %s\n", string, str); //unsigned short int i = 0; //for (; str[i] != '\0', str++; i++) // str[i] = tolower((unsigned char) str[i]); //puts(str); } int main(int argc, char **argv) { DIR *directory; struct dirent *element; if (directory = opendir(".")) { while (element = readdir(directory)) test(strrch(element->d_name, element->d_namlen, '.')); closedir(directory); puts(NULL); } else puts("Couldn't open the directory.\n"); } Output without modifying the duplicate (modification and the second printf call commented): Strings: (null) (null) Strings: . . Strings: .exe .exe Strings: .pdf .pdf Strings: .c .c Strings: .ini .ini Strings: .pdf .pdf Strings: .pdf .pdf Strings: .pdf .pdf Strings: .flac .flac Strings: .FLAC .FLAC Strings: .lnk .lnk Strings: .URL .URL Output of the same directory (with the code above, with the 2 printfs): Strings: (null) (null) Is there anything wrong? Is it a compiler issue? I'm using GCC 4.4.3 in Windows (MinGW) right now. Thank you very much for your help. By the way, is there any other way to work with files and directories in a Windows environment not using the POSIX functions?

  • What's the use of Ant's extension-point if/unless attributes?

    - by Robert Menteer
    When you define an extension-point in an Ant build file you can have it conditional by using the if or unless attribute. On a target the if/unless prevent it's tasks from being run. But an extension-point doesn't have any tasks to conditionally run, so what does the condition do? My thought (which proved to be incorrect in Ant 1.8.0) is it would prevent any tasks that extend the extension-point from being run. Here is an example build script showing the problem: <project name = "ext-test" default = "main"> <property name = "do.it" value = "false" /> <extension-point name = "init"/> <extension-point name = "doit" depends = "init" if = "${do.it}" /> <target name = "extend-init" extensionOf = "init"> <echo message = "Doing extend-init." /> </target> <target name = "extend-doit" extensionOf = "doit"> <echo message = "Do It! (${do.it})" /> </target> <target name = "main" depends = "doit"> <echo message = "Doing main." /> </target> </project> Using the command: ant -v Relults in: Apache Ant version 1.8.0 compiled on February 1 2010 Trying the default build file: build.xml Buildfile: /Users/bob/build.xml Detected Java version: 1.6 in: /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Home Detected OS: Mac OS X parsing buildfile /Users/bob/build.xml with URI = file:/Users/bob/build.xml Project base dir set to: /Users/bob parsing buildfile jar:file:/Users/bob/Documents/Development/3P-Tools/apache-ant-1.8.0/lib/ant.jar!/org/apache/tools/ant/antlib.xml with URI = jar:file:/Users/bob/Documents/Development/3P-Tools/apache-ant-1.8.0/lib/ant.jar!/org/apache/tools/ant/antlib.xml from a zip file Build sequence for target(s) `main' is [extend-init, init, extend-doit, doit, main] Complete build sequence is [extend-init, init, extend-doit, doit, main, ] extend-init: [echo] Doing extend-init. init: extend-doit: [echo] Do It! (false) doit: Skipped because property 'false' not set. main: [echo] Doing main. BUILD SUCCESSFUL Total time: 0 seconds You will notice the target extend-doit is executed but the extention-point itself is skipped. Since an extention-point doesn't have any tasks exactly what has been skipped? Any targets that depend on the extention-point still get executed since a skipped target is a successful target. What is the value of the if/unless attributes on an extention-point?

  • How to packing Resources in Maven Project?

    - by Rehman
    I am looking for suggestion in putting image file maven web project. One of classes under src/main/java need to use an image file. My problem is, if i put image file under src/main/webapp/images then application server cannot find that path on runtime(where myeclipse can ) because war archive do not have specified path "src/main/webapp/images". My question is where should i put the image file that my project can find it without prompting any error or exception. I am using Java Web Application with Mavenized falvour MyEclipse 10 Application Server: JBoss 6 Currently i do have following dir structure Project Directory Structure -src/main/java -- classes -src/main/resources -- applicationContext.xml -src/test/java -- test classes -src/test/resources (nothing) -src -- main --- webapp --WEB-INF --Images --Css --Meta-INF -target -pom.xml And pom.xml's build snippet is as follows <build> <sourceDirectory>${basedir}/src/main/java</sourceDirectory> <outputDirectory>${basedir}/target/${project.artifactId}/classes</outputDirectory> <resources> <resource> <directory>${basedir}/src/main/resources</directory> <excludes> <exclude>**/*.java</exclude> </excludes> </resource> </resources> <testResources> <testResource> <directory>${basedir}/src/test/resources</directory> </testResource> </testResources> <finalName>${project.artifactId}</finalName> <plugins> <plugin> <artifactId>maven-compiler-plugin</artifactId> <configuration> <source>${jdk.version}</source> <target>${jdk.version}</target> <optimize>true</optimize> <useProjectReferences>true</useProjectReferences> </configuration> </plugin> <plugin> <artifactId>maven-war-plugin</artifactId> <version>2.1.1</version> <configuration> <warSourceDirectory>${basedir}/src/main/webapp</warSourceDirectory> <webResources> <resource> <directory>${basedir}/src/main/resources</directory> </resource> </webResources> </configuration> </plugin> </plugins> </build> Thanks in advance

  • Installing my sdist from PyPI puts the files in the wrong places

    - by Tartley
    Hey. My problem is that when I upload my Python package to PyPI, and then install it from there using pip, my app breaks because it installs my files into completely different locations than when I simply install the exact same package from a local sdist. Installing from the local sdist puts files on my system like this: /Python27/ Lib/ site-packages/ gloopy-0.1.alpha-py2.7.egg/ (egg and install info files) data/ (images and shader source) doc/ (html) examples/ (.py scripts that use the library) gloopy/ (source) This is much as I'd expect, and works fine (e.g. my source can find my data dir, because they lie next to each other, just like they do in development.) If I upload the same sdist to PyPI and then install it from there, using pip, then things look very different: /Python27/ data/ (images and shader source) doc/ (html) Lib/ site-packages/ gloopy-0.1.alpha-py2.7.egg/ (egg and install info files) gloopy/ (source files) examples/ (.py scripts that use the library) This doesn't work at all - my app can't find its data files, plus obviously it's a mess, polluting the top-level /python27 directory with all my junk. What am I doing wrong? How do I make the pip install behave like the local sdist install? Is that even what I should be trying to achieve? Details I have setuptools installed, and also distribute, and I'm calling distribute_setup.use_setuptools() WindowsXP, Python2.7. My development directory looks like this: /gloopy /data (image files and GLSL shader souce read at runtime) /doc (html files) /examples (some scripts to show off the library) /gloopy (the library itself) My MANIFEST.in mentions all the files I want to be included in the sdist, including everything in the data, examples and doc directories: recursive-include data *.* recursive-include examples *.py recursive-include doc/html *.html *.css *.js *.png include LICENSE.txt include TODO.txt My setup.py is quite verbose, but I guess the best thing is to include it here, right? I also includes duplicate references to the same data / doc / examples directories as are mentioned in the MANIFEST.in, because I understand this is required in order for these files to be copied from the sdist to the system during install. • startActivityForResult to an activity that only displays a progressdialog

    - by Alxandr
    I'm trying to make an activity that is asked for some result. This result is normally returned instantly (in the onCreate), however, sometimes it is nesesary to wait for some internet-content to download which causes the "loader"-activity to show. What I want is that the loader-activity don't display anything more than a progressdialog (and that you can still se the old activity calling the loader-activity in the background) and I'm wondering wheather or not this is possible. The code I'm using as of now is: //ListComicsActivity.java public class ListComicsActivity extends Activity { private static final int REQUEST_COMICS = 1; /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.list_comics); Button button = (Button)findViewById(R.id.Button01); button.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() { @Override public void onClick(View v) { Intent intent = new Intent(); intent.setAction(Intents.ACTION_GET_COMICS); startActivityForResult(intent, REQUEST_COMICS); } }); } /** Called when an activity called by using startActivityForResult finishes. */ @Override public void onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode, Intent data) { Toast toast = Toast.makeText(this, "The activity finnished", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT); toast.show(); } } //LoaderActivity.java (answers to Intents.ACTION_GET_COMICS action-filter) public class LoaderActivity extends Activity { private Intent result = null; private ProgressDialog pg = null; private Runnable returner = new Runnable() { public void run() { if(pg != null) pg.dismiss(); LoaderActivity.this.setResult(Activity.RESULT_OK, result); LoaderActivity.this.finish(); } }; /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); String action = getIntent().getAction(); if(action.equals(Intents.ACTION_GET_COMICS)) { Runnable loader = new Runnable() { public void run() { WebProvider.DownloadComicList(); Intent intent = new Intent(); intent.setDataAndType(ComicContentProvider.COMIC_URI, "vnd.android.cursor.dir/vnd.mymir.comic"); returnResult(intent); } }; pg = ProgressDialog.show(this, "Downloading", "Please wait, retrieving data...."); Thread thread = new Thread(null, loader, "LoadComicList"); thread.start(); } else { setResult(Activity.RESULT_CANCELED); finish(); } } private void returnResult(Intent intent) { result = intent; runOnUiThread(returner); } }

  • Maven 2 assembly with dependencies: jar under scope "system" not included.

    - by YuppieNetworking
    Hello, I am using maven-assembly plugin to create a jar of my application, including its dependencies as follows: <assembly> <id>macosx</id> <formats> <format>tar.gz</format> <format>dir</format> </formats> <dependencySets> <dependencySet> <includes> <include>*:jar</include> </includes> <outputDirectory>lib</outputDirectory> </dependencySet> </dependencySets> </assembly> (I omitted some other stuff that is not related to the question) So far this has worked fine because it creates a lib directory with all dependencies. However, I recently added a new dependency whose scope is system, and it does not copy it to the lib output directory. i must be missing something basic here, so I call for help. The dependency that I just added is: <dependency> <groupId>sourceforge.jchart2d</groupId> <artifactId>jchart2d</artifactId> <version>3.1.0</version> <scope>system</scope> <systemPath>${project.basedir}/external/jchart2d-3.1.0.jar</systemPath> </dependency> The only way I was able to include this dependency was by adding the following to the assembly element: <files> <file> <source>external/jchart2d-3.1.0.jar</source> <outputDirectory>lib</outputDirectory> </file> </files> However, this forces me to change the pom and the assembly file whenever this jar is renamed, if ever. Also, it seems just wrong. I have tried with <scope>runtime</scope> in the dependencySets and <include>sourceforge.jchart2d:jchart2d</include> with no luck. So how do you include a system scoped jar to your assembly file in maven 2? Thanks a lot

  • ActiveMQ 5.2.0 + REST + HTTP POST = java.lang.OutOfMemoryError

    - by Bruce Loth
    First off, I am a newbie when it comes to JMS & ActiveMQ. I have been looking into a messaging solution to serve as middleware for a message producer that will insert XML messages into a queue via HTTP POST. The producer is an existing system written in C++ that cannot be modified (so Java and the C++ API are out). Using the "demo" examples and some trial and error, I have cobbled together a working example of what I want to do (on a windows box). The web.xml I configured in a test directory under "webapps" specifies that the HTTP POST messages received from the producer are to be handled by the MessageServlet. I added a line for the text app in "activemq.xml" ('ow' is the test app dir): I created a test script to "insert" messages into the queue which works well. The problem I am running into is that it as I continue to insert messages via REST/HTTP POST, the memory consumption and thread count used by ActiveMQ continues to rise (It happens when I have timely consumers as well as slow or non-existent consumers). When memory consumption gets around 250MB's and the thread count exceeds 5000 (as shown in windows task manager), ActiveMQ crashes and I see this in the log: Exception in thread "ActiveMQ Transport Initiator: vm://localhost#3564" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: unable to create new native thread It is as if Jetty is spawning a new thread to handle each HTTP POST and the thread never dies. I did look at this page: http://activemq.apache.org/javalangoutofmemory.html and tried but that didn't fix the problem (although I didn't fully understand the implications of the change either). Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks! Bruce Loth PS - I included the "test message producer" python script below for what it is worth. I created batches of 100 messages and continued to run the script manually from the command line while watching the memory consumption and thread count of ActiveMQ in task manager. def foo(): import httplib, urllib body = "<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>\n \ <ROOT>\n \ [snip: xml deleted to save space] </ROOT>" headers = {"content-type": "text/xml", "content-length": str(len(body))} conn = httplib.HTTPConnection("127.0.0.1:8161") conn.request("POST", "/ow/message/RDRCP_Inbox?type=queue", body, headers) response = conn.getresponse() print response.status, response.reason data = response.read() conn.close() ## end method definition ## Begin test code count = 0; while(count < 100): # Test with batches of 100 msgs count += 1 foo()

  • Adding OutputCache to an ASP.NET WebForm crashes my site :(

    - by Pure.Krome
    Hi folks, When I add either one of these ... <%@ OutputCache Duration="600" Location="Any" VaryByParam="*" %> or <%@ OutputCache CacheProfile="CmsArticlesListOrItem" %> (.. and this into the web.config file...) <caching> <outputCacheSettings> <outputCacheProfiles> <add name="CmsArticlesListOrItem" duration="600" varyByParam="*" /> </outputCacheProfiles> </outputCacheSettings> <sqlCacheDependency ........ ></sqlCacheDependency </caching> my page/site crashes with the following error:- Source: System.Web ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- TargetSite: System.Web.DirectoryMonitor FindDirectoryMonitor(System.String, Boolean, Boolean) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Message:System.Web.HttpException: Directory 'C:\Web Sites\My Site Foo - Main Site\Controls\InfoAdvice' does not exist.

  • fetching rows from mysql table and displaying them as JGROWL notifications

    - by jeansymolanza
    hey guys, i am having problems implementing my php/mysql code into a jgrowl if you are familiar with jgrowl you will know it delivers notifications like Growl does for OS X i am trying to get it read all the records from my table but at the moment it is only displaying one record as a notification and it loops through it 4 times another problem is that if i have 5 rows in the table then jgrowl will only display 4 notifications are going to be viewed how do i get it to view all the records in the table as notifications and how do i display the total number of records (5) as notifications and account for the missing one at the moment thanking you guys in advance... God bless <script type="text/javascript"> // In case you don't have firebug... if (!window.console || !console.firebug) { var names = ["log", "debug", "info", "warn", "error", "assert", "dir", "dirxml", "group", "groupEnd", "time", "timeEnd", "count", "trace", "profile", "profileEnd"]; window.console = {}; for (var i = 0; i < names.length; ++i) window.console[names[i]] = function() {}; } (function($){ $(document).ready(function(){ // This specifies how many messages can be pooled out at any given time. // If there are more notifications raised then the pool, the others are // placed into queue and rendered after the other have disapeared. $.jGrowl.defaults.pool = 5; var i = 1; var y = 1; setInterval( function() { if ( i < <?php echo $totalRows_comment; ?> ) { <?php echo '$.jGrowl("'.$row_comment['comment'].'",'; ?> { sticky: true, log: function() { console.log("Creating message " + i + "..."); }, beforeOpen: function() { console.log("Rendering message " + y + "..."); y++; } }); } i++; } , 1000 ); }); })(jQuery); </script> <p> </span> <p>

  • How can I use functools.partial on multiple methods on an object, and freeze parameters out of order

    - by Joseph Garvin
    I find functools.partial to be extremely useful, but I would like to be able to freeze arguments out of order (the argument you want to freeze is not always the first one) and I'd like to be able to apply it to several methods on a class at once, to make a proxy object that has the same methods as the underlying object except with some of its methods parameter being frozen (think of it as generalizing partial to apply to classes). I've managed to scrap together a version of functools.partial called 'bind' that lets me specify parameters out of order by passing them by keyword argument. That part works: >>> def foo(x, y): ... print x, y ... >>> bar = bind(foo, y=3) >>> bar(2) 2 3 But my proxy class does not work, and I'm not sure why: >>> class Foo(object): ... def bar(self, x, y): ... print x, y ... >>> a = Foo() >>> b = PureProxy(a, bar=bind(Foo.bar, y=3)) >>> b.bar(2) Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> TypeError: bar() takes exactly 3 arguments (2 given) I'm probably doing this all sorts of wrong because I'm just going by what I've pieced together from random documentation, blogs, and running dir() on all the pieces. Suggestions both on how to make this work and better ways to implement it would be appreciated ;) One detail I'm unsure about is how this should all interact with descriptors. Code follows. from types import MethodType class PureProxy(object): def __init__(self, underlying, **substitutions): self.underlying = underlying for name in substitutions: subst_attr = substitutions[name] if hasattr(subst_attr, "underlying"): setattr(self, name, MethodType(subst_attr, self, PureProxy)) def __getattribute__(self, name): return getattr(object.__getattribute__(self, "underlying"), name) def bind(f, *args, **kwargs): """ Lets you freeze arguments of a function be certain values. Unlike functools.partial, you can freeze arguments by name, which has the bonus of letting you freeze them out of order. args will be treated just like partial, but kwargs will properly take into account if you are specifying a regular argument by name. """ argspec = inspect.getargspec(f) argdict = copy(kwargs) if hasattr(f, "im_func"): f = f.im_func args_idx = 0 for arg in argspec.args: if args_idx >= len(args): break argdict[arg] = args[args_idx] args_idx += 1 num_plugged = args_idx def new_func(*inner_args, **inner_kwargs): args_idx = 0 for arg in argspec.args[num_plugged:]: if arg in argdict: continue if args_idx >= len(inner_args): # We can't raise an error here because some remaining arguments # may have been passed in by keyword. break argdict[arg] = inner_args[args_idx] args_idx += 1 f(**dict(argdict, **inner_kwargs)) new_func.underlying = f return new_func
