  • Fixing Chrome resizing behaviour

If you do the same thing in Firefox and IE, both <div> A and B will stay on the same row. Adding a height attribute on the parent <div> may help, but if the height of the content is not known beforehand, this will not be feasible.     Hi, we want to test our webpages on linux shell. For that reason I'm looking for a shell tool, which gets the html page from server (like 'wget') and then executes contained Javascript, include pictures and so on. After this, the tool should give me a 'screenshot' of the rendered page, so that I can create a checksum for that screen. (So I want to the same as opening browser in Windows, open webpage and make a screenshot after page load, but on linux) Can anyone give me a hint?

  • prevent IE Mobile from scaling web pages automatically

    I have not been able to get IE mobile to stop automatically resizing my site design. I am using three stylesheets with media queries to display the site differently on different device screens. I've included the meta tag so it shows the mobile stylesheet on IE mobile but it keeps setting the viewport at 320X480 instead of using the actual size of 480X800. How can I force it to display at the actual screen size instead of scaling for a smaller resolution?

If you visit this URL, which I'm calling, we'll be getting no errors: http://api.bf3stats.com/pc/server/?output=json&id=534f7035-cef8-48aa-b233-8d44a0956e68 But when I try to get the stats via Ajax call, I get: Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token : ... In my console I can see that the response is coming in, as when I visit the url, but I can't get the data with the ajax call...   • Creating "screenshots" with HTML 5 and CSS 3?

    Hi, I need to create small thumbnails of HTML elements. I first thought using CSS 3 reflection, but it is limited to being only a reflection (and not a direct copy) and I can not move it from its standard position. Then I thought using JavaScript to copy the HTML element entirely along with all its contents and apply CSS 3 transform to scale it down to a thumbnail. That works pretty well, but is kind of a hack. Does anyone know a better way of doing this with JavaScript, HTML 5 and CSS 3. Flash, Java and such are not an option and it only needs to work in one browser.

    I am unable to access certain websites from my PC viz. google.com, gmail.com , stackoverflow.com, etc. However, I am able to access facebook.com, twitter.com, infoq.com etc. Currently I am accessing Google via proxy server.     Is there any solution for secure user registration and authentication without SSL? With "secure" I mean safe from passive eavesdropping, not from man-in-the-middle (I'm aware that only SSL with signed certificate will reach this degree of security). The registration (password setup, i.e. exchanging of pre-shared keys) must be also secured without SSL (this will be the hardest part I guess). I prefer established and well tested solution. If possible, I don't want to reinvent the wheel and make up my own cryptographic protocols. Thanks in advance.

    I am a little bit puzzled about something. I am creating a ASP.NET MVC eCommerce application and currently I have written all the back end in ASP.NET MVC. I was thinking if its better to write all the management in WPF instead of HTML, as its probably even less prone to be exploited by hackers. I am a Windows user so I am not really bothered about using Linux/Mac at the moment so I am quite aware that having all the back-end written in HTML will allow users to have access to the admin area using other OS. I would like to see what are the advantages and disadvantages of having WPF to manage the content of the website as its probably much easier to develop and manage (think about Live Writer).

  • What are the downside of not having an index.html file to some directories

    Hi, I'm curious what are some effects/downside of not putting an index.html file to your directories (e.g images). I know when an index file is not present to a directory, files inside that directory are no longer private and will be visible to the browsers when point (eg yoursite.com/images/). Aside from that what are some big effects to consider? and how to properly secure them. thanks!
