  • .NET DataGridView rows' default alignment all set to left

    DataGridView gets bound to DataTable. I then try to set some columns' DefaultCellStyle.Alignment to right. It doesn't work. After a bunch of tinkering, it turns out that every single row's DefaultCellStyle.Alignment is set to left and overrides it. DataGridView.DefaultCellStyle or RowsDefaultCellStyle doesn't do anything. Makes sense since a particular row's DefaultCellStyle is more specific but what gives. Why are they all set to something and not NotSet? How do I get rid of it instead of iterating through all rows?

    I've following code for file download: FileInfo fileInfo = new FileInfo(filePath); context.Response.Clear(); context.Response.ContentType = "application/octet-stream"; context.Response.AddHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=" + System.IO.Path.GetFileName(filePath)); context.Response.AddHeader("Content-Length", fileInfo.Length.ToString()); context.Response.WriteFile(filePath); context.Response.End(); When I run it on my local IIS6 it works fine. Web browser (tested on IE8, Firefox 3.5.2, Opera 10) shows file length before I start download the file. When I run this code on remote IIS7, web browser doesn't shows file length. File length is unknown. Why I don't get file length when this code runs under IIS7?

    I have a datagrid where a row can be deleted (using ajax). I'm have problem with the pager in the following scenario: Lets say my PageSize is 10, I have 101 rows so that's 11 pages with the last page with an single element. Let no assume that I'm on page 10 (PageIndex=9) and delete a row. Then I go to the 11'th page (who's now empty and doesn't really exist). ASP now shows me the EmptyDataTemplate and no pager so I can't go back.     What I am trying to achieve here is to display a number of LinkButtons in a RadGrid Column. The buttons are generated from a collection property member of the bound grid row item. The CollectionLinkButton control is nothing more than a asp:Panel derived control that populates its Child Controls from "DataItem.SomeCollection" and this is working fine.   • ASP.NET MVC Cookie loses value when page is changed

    When a user logs in to my site, I create a cookie with some info in it. However, whenever they change page from logging in, the cookie loses it's value. Cookie is still there but it's empty. I've checked my code and the cookie doesn't get rewritten by anything I've done. Does anyone have any idea to why the cookie becomes empty when the page is changed?

Why doesn't this work?

    I have a three step wizard. On the first step I use a repeater to create a series of buttons that an individual can select from. When the user selects one of the buttons the value of the button is saved to session state. They are taken to the next step and shown a similar list of buttons that are based on what they previously selected. Thus, if you choose "Hamburger" you might receive the options of "onion", "lettuce", "tomato" while if you choose "Hot Dog" you might receive "sauerkraut" and "ketchup". Lets say an individual chooses Hamburger. This is saved into session state like so: Public Sub Button_ItemCommand(ByVal Sender As Object, ByVal e As RepeaterCommandEventArgs) ' ******** Lets pass on the results of our query in LinqDataSource1_Selecting. Session("food_select") = RTrim(e.CommandName) Wizard1.ActiveStepIndex = 1 End Sub Now, this works fine and dandy. But lets say I select hamburger and then realize I'm really hankering for a hot dog. I go back to the first wizard step and click on the hot dog button - but when the wizard progresses to the next step I still see the options for hamburgers! The session variable has not been updated.     Hello, I'm trying to get every windows message that tells that the user has touched the screen. It works everywhere, except the button, when it is disabled. It seems that the application doesn't get any message when clicked on disabled control. I'm using OpenNetCF Application2 class for filtering messages: Application2.AddMessageFilter(Device.PowerManager); Application2.Run(new MainForm()); PowerManager class contains a following method (as required by IMessageFilter interface): public bool PreFilterMessage(ref Microsoft.WindowsCE.Forms.Message m) { log.DebugFormat("windows message {0} - 0x{0:X}", m.Msg); if (m.Msg == 0x0201 || m.Msg == 0x8001 || m.Msg == 0x0005) { return this.ResetPowerManager(); } return false; } in the log file there is no indication of a windows message when clicking on disabled button. I'm wondering how is it possible and how can I get this message.

  • .NET: How to know when serialization is completed?

    When I construct my control (which inherits DataGrid), I add specific rows and columns. This works great at design time. Unfortunately, at runtime I add my rows and columns in the same constructor, but then the DataGrid is serialized (after the constructor runs) adding more rows and columns. After serialization is complete, I need to clear everything and re-initialize the rows and columns. Is there a protected method that I can override to know when the control is done serializing? Of course, I'd prefer to not have to do the work in the constructor, throw it away, and do it again after (potential) serialization. Is there a preferred event that is the equivalent of "set yourself up now", so that it is called once whether I'm serialized or not? The serialization i speak of comes from the InitializeComponent() method in the form's code-behind file. #region Windows Form Designer generated code /// <summary> /// Required method for Designer support - do not modify /// the contents of this method with the code editor. /// </summary> private void InitializeComponent() { ... } It would have been perfect if InitializeComponent was a virtual method defined by Control, then i could just override it and then perform my processing after i call base: protected override void InitializeComponent() { base.InitializeComponent(); InitializeMe(); } But it's not an ancestor method, it's declared only in the code-behind file. i notice that InitializeComponent calls SuspendLayout and ResumeLayout on various Controls. i thought it could override ResumeLayout, and perform my initialization then: public override void ResumeLayout() { base.ResumeLayout(); InitializeMe(); } But ResumeLayout is not virtual, so that's out. Anymore ideas? i can't be the first person to create a custom control.

    Hi I started using ccnet to build my project. This is quite new issue for me so I have some problems. First thing: Why does ccnet copy directory with my project to another directory (ccnet creates new folder named the same as project name included in ccnet.config file and copies to them directory with my project) Second thing: Dashboard page cannot show reports for recent build (When I click on any item in recent build then I get page: "The page Cannot be found" I suppose that page cannot link files with logs. but I don't know how to link it. I create one publisher: <publishers> <xmllogger logDir="c:\Branches" /> Can anyone help me?

  • Separate functionality depending on Role in ASP.NET MVC

    I'm looking for an elegant pattern to solve this problem: I have several user roles in my system, and for many of my controller actions, I need to deal with slightly different data. For example, take /Users/Edit/1 This allows a Moderator to edit a users email address, but Administrators to edit a user's email address and password. I'd like a design for separating the two different bits of action code for the GET and the POST. Solutions I've come up with so far are: Switch inside each method, however this doesn't really help when i want different model arguments on the POST :( Custom controller factory which chooses a UsersController_ForModerators and UsersController_ForAdmins instead of just UsersController from the controller name and current user role Custom action invoker which choose the Edit_ForModerators method in a similar way to above Have an IUsersController and register a different implementation of it in my IoC container as a named instance based on Role Build an implementation of the controller at runtime using Castle DynamicProxy and manipulate the methods to those from role-based implementations Im preferring the named IoC instance route atm as it means all my urls/routing will work seamlessly. Ideas? Suggestions?

    I have an HttpHandler class (implements IHttphandler) where the path defined for the handler in web.config is *.jpg. I am requesting a Jpg image in my page. Within the HTTP Handler I am writing to a file in the filesystem. By mistake I was trying to write to a non existant directory. This should have thrown an exception but the execution simply proceeds.Ofcourse no file is written. But if I give a proper directory the file is written correctly.Is there anything special about HttpHandler Exceptions. See part of the code public void ProcessRequest(HttpContext context){ File.WriteAllLines(context.Request.ApplicationPath+@"\"+"resul.log",new string[]{"Entered JPG Handler"}); If I put a breakpoint on the File.WriteAllLines statement and then step over it I can see an exception occurring.

I have 4 dropdowns and a repeater in the page.based on the selection(search criteria) from the dropdowns the repeater value will change. and one dropdown selection will bind values to the other dropdown also. Since the page is causing a lot of postback we decided to implement ajax here. I am yet to learn ajax. Can anyone tell what is the best way to do this .which ajax control replace dropdowns? i have already server side code written on all dropdowns.
