  I have: created translation strings in the template and in the application view. run this command: django-admin.py makemessages -l it and the file it/LC_MESSAGES/django.po has been created run this command: django-admin.py compilemessages and I receive: processing file django.po in /home/jobber/Desktop/library/books/locale/it/LC_MESSAGES set the language code in settings.py: LANGUAGE_CODE = 'it-IT' but.... translation doesn't work !! I always see english text. Why ?

• CodePage ID to CodePage name: GetEncoding equivalent in Delphi?

  Hello all, I'm looking for a Win32 equivalent of the .Net Encoding.GetEncoding Method to be used in Delphi7. What I would like to achieve is to convert a Codepage ID (ie.: 28592) to a Codepage name (iso-8859-2 in this case). I've found a Win32 function called GetCPInfoEx, but that returns a long CodePage name, and I need the short one, like the ones listed on this page: (see Name column) http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.text.encoding.aspx Thank you!

• FBML elements rendering delay

  I am using FBML for rendering certain elements on the page such as the name of the user, profil pic, etc. However when there are many FBML elements on page, there is a slight delay which occurs before they are rendered - that's fine since AJAX calls are made to the server to fetch the data by the JS FB library. However, I want to hide the container DIV holding these element till the elements have finished loading, so is there any way to specify a JS callback function which gets fired when the FBML data has finished loading?

• AMQP 'connection.open' reserved parameters

  I am writing an AMQP Client Library in Erlang. For the 'connection.open' method, there are 2 reserved parameters "documented" in AMQP 0.9.1 out of a total of 3. When I send the method in question without the "reserved parameters", I get "unable to decode method" in the error log. What should I be sending as value for those "reserved parameters" ?? Update: It seems the server still expects some parameters even if the parameters are deprecated (see source code for code generator).

  i working on a c++ string library that have main 4 classes that deals with ASCII, UTF8, UTF16, UTF32 strings, every class has Print function that format an input string and print the result to stdout or stderr. my problem is i don't know what is the default character encoding for those streams. for now my classes work in windows, later i'll add support for mac and linux so if you know anything about those stream encoding i'll appreciate it. thank you.

  Hi, I have an [AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers] class library containing subtypes of the System.DataAnnotations.ValidationAttribute. The library is used on contract types of WCF services. In .NET 2/3.5, this worked fine. Since .NET 4.0 however, running a client of the service in the Visual Studio debugger results in the exception "Inheritance security rules violated by type: '(my subtype of ValidationAttribute)'. Derived types must either match the security accessibility of the base type or be less accessible." (System.TypeLoadException) The error appears to occure only when all of the following conditions are met: a subclass of ValidationAttribute is in an AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers assembly reflection is used to check for the attribute the Visual Studio hosting process is enabled (checkbox on Project properties, Debug tab) So basically, in Visual Studio.NET 2010: create a new Console project, add a reference to "System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations" 4.0.0.0, write the following code: . using System; [assembly: System.Security.AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers()] namespace TestingVaidationAttributeSecurity { public class MyValidationAttribute : System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations.ValidationAttribute { } [MyValidation] public class FooBar { } class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { Console.WriteLine("ValidationAttribute IsCritical: {0}", typeof(System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations.ValidationAttribute).IsSecurityCritical); FooBar fb = new FooBar(); fb.GetType().GetCustomAttributes(true); Console.WriteLine("Press enter to end."); Console.ReadLine(); } } } Press F5 and you get the exception ! Why do I have this behaviour when inheriting from ValidationAttribute, but not when inheriting from System.Attribute ? (Using Reflector I don't find special settings on the ValidationAttribute class or it's assembly) And what can I do to solve this ? How can I keep MyValidationAttribute inheriting from ValidationAttribute in an AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers assembly without marking it SecurityCritical, still using the new .NET 4 level 2 security model and still have it work using the VS.NET debug host (or other hosts) ?? • PHP SASL(PECL) sasl_server_init(app) works with CLI but not with ApacheModule

  I have written a simple auth script so that Webusers can type in their username and password and my PHP script verifies them by SASL. The SASL Library is initialized by php function sasl_server_init("phpfoo"). So phpfoo.conf in /etc/sasl2/ is used. phpfoo.conf: pwcheck_method: saslauthd mech_list: PLAIN LOGIN log_level: 9 So the SASL library now tries to connect to saslauthd process by socket. saslauthd command line looks like this: /usr/sbin/saslauthd -r -V -a pam -n 5 So saslauthd uses PAM to authenticate. In the php script I have created sasl connection by sasl_server_new("php", null, "myRealm"); The first argument is the servicename. So PAM uses the file /etc/pam.d/php to see for further authentication information. /etc/pam.d/php: auth required pam_mysql.so try_first_pass=0 config_file=/etc/pam.d/mysqlconf.nss account required pam_permit.so session required pam_permit.so mysqlconf.nss has all information that is needed for a useful MySQL Query to user table. All of this works perfectly when I run the script by command line. php ssasl.php But when I call the same script via webbrowser(php apache module) I get an -20 return code (SASL_NOUSER). In /var/log/messages there is May 18 15:27:12 hostname httpd2-prefork: unable to open Berkeley db /etc/sasldb2: No such file or directory I do not have anything with a Berkeley db for authentication with SASL. I think authentication using /etc/sasldb2 is the default setting. In my opinion it does not read my phpfoo.conf file. For some reason the php-apache-module ignores the parameter in sasl_server_init("phpfoo"). My first thought was that there is a permission issue. So back in shell: su -s /bin/bash wwwrun php ssasl.php "Authentication successful". - No file-permission issue. In the source of the sasl-php-extension we can find: PHP_FUNCTION(sasl_server_init) { char *name; int name_len; if (zend_parse_parameters(1 TSRMLS_CC, "s", &name, &name_len) == FAILURE) { return; } if (sasl_server_init(NULL, name) != SASL_OK) { RETURN_FALSE; } RETURN_TRUE; } This is a simple pass through of the string. Are there any differences between the PHP CLI and PHP ApacheModule version that I am not aware of? Anyway, there are some interesting log entries when I run PHP in CLI mode: May 18 15:44:48 hostname php: SQL engine 'mysql' not supported May 18 15:44:48 hostname php: auxpropfunc error no mechanism available May 18 15:44:48 hostname php: _sasl_plugin_load failed on sasl_auxprop_plug_init for plugin: sqlite May 18 15:44:48 hostname php: sql_select option missing May 18 15:44:48 hostname php: auxpropfunc error no mechanism available May 18 15:44:48 hostname php: _sasl_plugin_load failed on sasl_auxprop_plug_init for plugin: sql Those lines are followed by lines of saslauthd and PAM which results in authentication success.(I do not get any of them in ApacheModule mode) Looks like that he is trying auxprop pwcheck before saslauthd. I have no other .conf file in /etc/sasl2. When I change the parameter of sasl_server_init to something other then I get the same error in CLI mode as in ApacheModule mode.

Has it to do with "first person" / "second person" etc perhaps? The fact that there is a "third party" suggests that there is a "first party" and a "second party" as well. • Where is the "personal" folder of the iPhone simulator?

  Hi, I found the iPhone simulator at /Username/Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator/4.2/ and in there I can see my apps within a cryptic directory name. One of my apps is storing a database and some cached files in the iPhone's "Personal" folder which I thought is the "Documents" folder in the directory of the simulator. But there's nothing in it. Nevertheless, I can read my files - where are they? René

• Can a Winforms/WPF app act as HTTP server?

First I thought about a regular Client/Server app but now I think best would be if the app could act as HTTP server and send HTML to connected browsers. Does anybody know if there is a library available to add HTTP server functionality to an app? Ideally it would be able to serve ASP.NET content.
