    Hi all, lets say I have a string that I want to split based on several characters, like ".", "!", and "?". How do I figure out which one of those characters split my string so I can add that same character back on to the end of the split segments in question?   • Simple Modal with Autocomplete in ASP.NET

    Hello, I am quite new to this so any help is very much appreciated. I am generating a modal pop using Simple Modal, this works ok. I now want to add jquery autocomplete to the element txtEmail. When I run the page outside of Simple Modal I can use Autocomplete, however when the page is loaded through Simple Modal it does not work. I have checked to ensure the element is loaded, and it is allowing me to change the text color, but I can not add autocomplete to it.     I have a bunch of classes that I intend to serialize in order to transport over a webservice call. These classes already have properties that return whether a given "real" property has a value or not, that is ingrained in a lot of code of our product. Is it possible, for instance through attributes, for me to specify that each "real" property should be included if a specified other property returns true, but not one that is called RealPropertyNameSpecified? ie. for instance if I have this class: [XmlType("test")] public class TestClass { [XmlIgnore] public bool NameHasGotAValue { get; set; } [XmlElement("name")] public string Name { get; set; } } Is it possible for me to use the NameHasGotAValue as the "*Specified" method for the Name property, or is my only option to either rename NameHasGotAValue, add a NameSpecified method, or implement IXmlSerializable?

  • asp.net mvc script and style references

    I'm trying to include script and style references that will not break on deployment, however I can not even get the references to work locally. I have tried using Url.Content() and MVCContrib's <%=Html.ScriptInclude("")%>. My scripts are in a Scripts folder on the root of the site; my styles are in the usual Content/css/ folder. The scripts render like this: <script type="text/javascript" src="/Scripts/MicrosoftAjax.debug.js" ></script> This will not work in a view page in the Views folder. What am I doing wrong and what is the best way to handle this? I would have thought Url.Content() would at least work for styles but used in my master page, the link rendered <link href="/Content/css/Site.css rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> This does not work, because the Master Page is in a Shared folder, so what is really the way forward with this?

So the question is: How to invalidate the former control region?

    Dont ask how this works but currently it does ("^\|(.?)\|*$")....kinda. This removes all extra pipes...part one....I have searched all over no anwser yet. I am using VB2011 beta...asp web form......vb coding though! I want to capture special character pipe (|) which is used to seperate words...i.e. car|truck|van|cycle problem is users lead with, trail with, use multiple, and use spaces before and after...i.e. |||car||truck | van || cycle. another example: george bush|micheal jordon|bill gates|steve jobs <-- this would be correct but when I do remove space it takes correct space out. so I want to get rid of whitespace leading, trailing, any space before | and space after | and only allow one pipe (|)....in between alphanumeric of course.

    Hi I would like to zip a bunch of files (.exe and .dll) before I overwrite them with the new build. Is there a simple way to zip files without using some sort of dll? Just creating a folder with the build number / date time stamp will also work great. How do I pass parameters from the cruise control build process into my Powershell script that will do the work then? Is this a sustainable way to do things? Thanks

    during debug in cassini the code runs fine, but when I explictly build it, the compile breaks on an object saying it can't find the reference. During a breakpoint shows the proper reference to the object, and I can view the debug intellisense. The code itself is simple using CFTW.Controls; ... controls_LatestPresentations c = LoadControl("~/controls/LatestPresentations.ascx") as controls_LatestPresentations; c.loadContent(); return RenderControl(c); The control is a simple user control, with the namespace CFTW.Controls. The calling code is in a webcontrol, which lives in the same folder. I even tried adding the calling code to the same namespace.
