• jQuery hide ul header when all entries are deleted...

  I'm a noob with jQuery...and I hope I've explained this well enough; I have a <ul> header that appears when I've added an entry to a dynamically created list using $.post. Each entry added has a delete/edit button associated with it. Header is this: <ul class="header"> <li>Month</li> <li>Year</li> <li>Cottage</li> </ul> My dynamic list that is created: <ul class="addedItems"> <li>Month</li> <li>Year</li> <li>Cottage</li> <li><span class="edit">edit</span></li> <li><span class="del">delete</span></li> </ul> This all looks like this: Month Year Cottage <--this appears after I've added an entry -------------------------------- and I want it to stick around unless all items are deleted. Dec 1990 Fir edit/delete <--entries Jan 2000 Willow edit/delete My question is: Is there some kind of conditional that I can use with jQuery to hide the class="header" if all the items are deleted? I've read up on conditional statements like is and not with jq but I'm not really understanding how they work. All of the items in class="addedItems" is stored in data produced by JSON. • CustomRenderer for AutoComplete using google closure library

  I'm looking to use one of the AutoComplete subclasses(Rich,Remote,RichRemote) and I'd like to use a CustomRenderer, however I don't see instructions for this and reading the documentation/source it appears that the Remote subclass is instantiated with a renderer of "var renderer = new goog.ui.AutoComplete.Renderer();" leaving me no option to change it while instantiating. Is there a setRenderer method on the AutoComplete base class similar to that on the goog.ui.Controls classes? Thanks, Paul

  Hello, How to do bind data from DataTable to Chart series? I get null reference exception. I tried binding with square brackets and it did not worked either. So, how to do the binding? Thanks. P.S: I included DataGrid XAML and CS which works just fine. Converting data to List<KeyValuePair<string,int>> works good but it is kinda slow and is unnessesary trash in code. I use WPFToolkit (the latest version). • Best practices for developing simple ASP.NET sites (built in controls or JQuery + scripts)

  I was recently reviewing some code written by two different contractors, both were basic ASP.NET management sites. The sites allowed the user to view and edit data. Pretty much simple CRUD gateways. One group did their best to use built in ASP + AJAX Toolkit controls and did their best to use as many built in controls as possible. I found the code much easier to read and maintain. The other used jQuery and the code is heavily marked up with script blocks which are then used to build pages from javascript files. Which one is more common? The one that basically leveraged embedded HTML markup in scripts controled by javascript files screams readability and maintenance issues? Is this just the way of doing asp dev with jQuery? Assuming the second example happens a lot, are there tools that help facilitate jQuery development with visual studio? Do you think they generated the html somewhere else and just copied it in? I have several classes that are collected in .xml files like this, but it seems pointless to rewrite the basic methods for loading each up when the generic accessors do it - but how can I enforce the proper root name for each file without hard coding methods for each one? The [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlRoot] seems to be ignored. When called like this... var titles = Repository.List<Models.Title>(); I get the exception <Titlesxmlns=''> was not expected.   I am trying to use marker.setIcon() to change a markers image. However it appears that although this changes the marker.iconUrl attribute the icon itself is using marker.proprietary_marker.$.icon.image to display the markers image - so the markers icon remains unchanged. Is there a way to dynamically change the marker.proprietary_marker.$.icon.image? Add a marker. Check the icon's image url and the proprietary icon's image - they're the same. Change the icon. Again check the Urls. • Problem getting ar_mailer/ar_sendmail working on new server

  Hey all. I've got a new app up and running on a new ubuntu server. It's working fine generally but i can't get ar_sendmail working. I'm following the instructions on this page: http://www.ameravant.com/posts/sending-tons-of-emails-in-ruby-on-rails-with-ar_mailer The setup is all done, ie i can "deliver mails" which just saves records in my Email table. Now i want to get the ar_sendmail daemon running to actually send them. (so i'm at 'Running ar_sendmail in daemon mode' in that web page). First thing: ar_sendmail --mailq >>ar_sendmail: command not found Ok...so, where is ar_sendmail? I have a look and there's an ar_sendmail file in the bin folder of the ar_mailer plugin, so i add the location of that to my path. I don't know if this was the right thing to do or not. Ok, so try again. ar_sendmail --mailq /var/www/apps/millionaire/vendor/plugins/ar_mailer/bin/ar_sendmail:3:in `require': no such file to load -- action_mailer/ar_sendmail (LoadError) from /var/www/apps/millionaire/vendor/plugins/ar_mailer/bin/ar_sendmail:3 hmm. Here's the offending file, there's not much there. #!/usr/bin/env ruby require 'action_mailer/ar_sendmail' ActionMailer::ARSendmail.run ok...so it literally is just trying to require this and can't find it. The file, action_mailer/ar_sendmail.rb is in the ar_mailer plugin, in it's lib folder. So, given that it's being called from inside the plugin, it should be able to see this right? I've got a feeling that i'm way off the track here and have missed something simple. Can anyone set me straight? I'm using rails 2.3.4 in case that's relevant. EDIT - i just realised something kind of dumb: when i call ar_sendmail from the command line like this, i'm just loading that one file, which doesn't know where it's supposed to look for the rest of the stuff, i think. Which really makes me think that i'm not trying to run the right thing. Is the ar_sendmail daemon a seperate program altogether, that i would get with apt_get or something? EDIT2 - i made some progress by installing the ar_mailer gem (which the guide said i shouldn't do) and that does seem to run. It's sending some mail request somewhere and clearing the Email table of pending emails. Running ar_sendmail in -ov (oneshot verbal) mode i see it report this for example: sent email 00000000019 from [email protected] to [email protected]: # So, it actually looks like it's working now and i just need to set up the ACTUAL THING WHICH SENDS EMAILS. sigh. still grateful for any advice. thanks, max

  I am trying here to do a manual translation for the application I am working with. (There is already a working LocalizationModule but it's working dodgy, so I can't use <asp:Localize /> tags. Normally with ResourceManager you are supposed to be using it as Namespace.Folder.Resourcename (in an application). Currently I am translating an existing asp.net "website" (not web application so no namespace here....). The resources are located into a folder name "Locales/resources" which contains "fr-ca.resx" and "en-us.resx". • Django facebook integration error

  I'm trying to integrate facebook into my application so that users can use their FB login to login to my site. I've got everything up and running and there are no issues when I run my site using the command line python manage.py runserver But this same code refuses to run when I try and run it through Apache.
