  • Static code analysis tools

    - by Anil Namde
    Whether JavaSript, C# or C++ main problem i face while reading the code is which function is called by which function. This problem is big when dealing with BIG code. Is there any static code analysis tool/technique/plugins using which a graphical representation of the code can be generated(something like below) so that reading/analyzing code becomes easy? .... --outerFuntion() ---innerFunction() ----innerFunction2() --outerFunction2() .... Please provide your inputs/opinions on this Thanks all,

  • jQuery AJAX POST gives undefined index

    - by Sebastian
    My eventinfo.php is giving the following output: <br /> <b>Notice</b>: Undefined index: club in <b>/homepages/19/d361310357/htdocs/guestvibe/wp-content/themes/yasmin/guestvibe/eventinfo.php</b> on line <b>11</b><br /> [] HTML (index.php): <select name="club" class="dropdown" id="club"> <?php getClubs(); ?> </select> jQuery (index.php): <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "http://www.guestvibe.com/wp-content/themes/yasmin/guestvibe/eventinfo.php", data: $('#club').serialize(), success: function(data) { $('#rightbox_inside').html('<h2>' + $('#club').val() + '<span style="font-size: 14px"> (' + data[0].day + ')</h2><hr><p><b>Entry:</b> ' + data[0].entry + '</p><p><b>Queue jump:</b> ' + data[0].queuejump + '</p><br><p><i>Guestlist closes at ' + data[0].closing + '</i></p>'); }, dataType: "json" }); }); $('#club').change(function(event) { $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "http://www.guestvibe.com/wp-content/themes/yasmin/guestvibe/eventinfo.php", data: $(this).serialize(), success: function(data) { $('#rightbox_inside').hide().html('<h2>' + $('#club').val() + '<span style="font-size: 14px"> (' + data[0].day + ')</h2><hr><p><b>Entry:</b> ' + data[0].entry + '</p><p><b>Queue jump:</b> ' + data[0].queuejump + '</p><br><p><i>Guestlist closes at ' + data[0].closing + '</i></p>').fadeIn('500'); }, dataType: "json" }); }); </script> I can run alerts from the jQuery, so it is active. I've copied this as is from an old version of the website, but I've changed the file structure (through to move to WordPress) so I suspect the variables might not even be reaching eventinfo.php in the first place... index.php is in wp-content/themes/cambridge and eventinfo.php is in wp-content/themes/yasmin/guestvibe but I've tried to avoid structuring issues by referencing the URL in full. Any ideas?

  • Escape SQL "LIKE" value for Postgres with psycopg2

    - by Evgeny
    Does psycopg2 have a function for escaping the value of a LIKE operand for Postgres? For example I may want to match strings that start with the string "20% of all", so I want to write something like this: sql = '... WHERE ... LIKE %(myvalue)s' cursor.fetchall(sql, { 'myvalue': escape_sql_like('20% of all') + '%' } Is there an existing escape_sql_like function that I could plug in here? (Similar question to How to quote a string value explicitly (Python DB API/Psycopg2), but I couldn't find an answer there.)

  • Returning a struct pointer

    Suppose I have the following struct and function returning a pointer: typedef struct { int num; void *nums; int size; } Mystruct; Mystruct *mystruct(int num, int size) { .... } I want to define any Mystruct pointer using the above function. Should I declare a Mystruct variable, define the properties of Mystruct, assign a pointer to it, and return the pointer or define the properties of a mystruct property through a pointer immediately?

  • How to not over-use jQuery?

    - by Fedyashev Nikita
    Typical jQuery over-use: $('button').click(function() { alert('Button clicked: ' + $(this).attr('id')); }); Which can be simplified to: $('button').click(function() { alert('Button clicked: ' + this.id); }); Which is way faster. Can you give me any more examples of similar jQuery over-use?

  • Create a timer countdown using hours, minutes & seconds from a future date

    - by Tommy Coffee
    I am using some code I found on the internet that creates a countdown from a certain date. I am trying to edit the code so that it only gives me a countdown from an hour, minute, and second that I specify from a future date. I cannot just have code that counts down from a specified time, I need it to countdown to a specified date in the future. This is important so that if the browser is refreshed the countdown doesn't start over but continues where left off. I will be using cookies so the browser remembers what future date was specified when it was first run. Here is the HTML: <form name="count"> <input type="text" size="69" name="count2"> </form> And here is the javascript: window.onload = function() { //change the text below to reflect your own, var montharray=new Array("Jan","Feb","Mar","Apr","May","Jun","Jul","Aug","Sep","Oct","Nov","Dec") function countdown(yr,m,d){ var theyear=yr; var themonth=m; var theday=d var today=new Date() var todayy=today.getYear() if (todayy < 1000) todayy+=1900; var todaym=today.getMonth() var todayd=today.getDate() var todayh=today.getHours() var todaymin=today.getMinutes() var todaysec=today.getSeconds() var todaystring=montharray[todaym]+" "+todayd+", "+todayy+" "+todayh+":"+todaymin+":"+todaysec futurestring=montharray[m-1]+" "+d+", "+yr var dd=Date.parse(futurestring)-Date.parse(todaystring) var dday=Math.floor(dd/(60*60*1000*24)*1) var dhour=Math.floor((dd%(60*60*1000*24))/(60*60*1000)*1) var dmin=Math.floor(((dd%(60*60*1000*24))%(60*60*1000))/(60*1000)*1) var dsec=Math.floor((((dd%(60*60*1000*24))%(60*60*1000))%(60*1000))/1000*1) if(dday==0&&dhour==0&&dmin==0&&dsec==1){ document.forms.count.count2.value=current return } else document.forms.count.count2.value= dhour+":"+dmin+":"+dsec; setTimeout(function() {countdown(theyear,themonth,theday)},1000) } //enter the count down date using the format year/month/day countdown(2012,12,25) } I am sure there is superfluous code above since I only need an hour, minute, and second that I would like to pass to the countdown() function. The year, month and day is unimportant but as I said this is code I am trying to edit which I found on the internet. Any help would be very appreciated. Thank you!

  • Change library load order at run time (like LD_PRELOAD but during execution)

    - by tylerl
    How do I change the library a function loads from during run time? For example, say I want to replace the standard printf function with something new, I can write my own version and compile it into a shared library, then put "LD_PRELOAD=/my/library.so" in the environment before running my executable. But let's say that instead, I want to change that linkage from within the program itself. Surely that must be possible... right?

  • match "//" comments with regex but not inside a quote

    - by Wireless102
    I need to match and replace some comments. for example: $test = "the url is http://www.google.com";// comment "<-- that quote needs to be matched I want to match the comments outside of the quotes, and replace any "'s in the comments with &quot;'s. I have tried a number of patterns and different ways of running them but with no luck. The regex will be run with javascript to match php "//" comments UPDATE: I took the regex from borkweb below and modified it. used a function from http://ejohn.org/blog/search-and-dont-replace/ and came up with this: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> <html> <head> <title></title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"> <script type="text/javascript"> function t_replace(data){ var q = {}, ret = ""; data.replace(/(?:((["'\/]*(("[^"]*")|('[^']*'))?[\s]*)?[\/\/|#][^"|^']*))/g, function(value){ q[key] = value; }); for ( var key in q ){ ret = q[key]; } var text = data.split(ret); var out = ret + text[1]; out = out.replace(/"/g,"&quot;"); out = out.replace(/'/g,"&apos;"); return text[0] + out; } </script> </head> <body> <script type="text/javascript"> document.write(t_replace("$test = \"the url is http://www.google.com\";// c'o\"mment \"\"\"<-- that quote needs to be matched")+"<br>"); document.write(t_replace("$test = 'the url is http://www.google.com';# c'o\"mment \"\"\"<-- that quote needs to be matched")); </script> </body> </html> it handles all the line comments outside of single or double quotes. Is there anyway I could optimize this function?

  • Flex Air HTMLLoader blank pop up window when flash content is loaded

    - by user128938
    I have a flex Air program that loads external content with the HTMLLoader. Now for some reason whenever I load a page that has any flash content a blank system window pops up outside of my program. It's completely blank, all white with min, max and close buttons. If I close it any flash content I loaded stops working. For the life of my I can't figure out what's happening and there's no messages in the console and no title for the window. Does anyone have any ideas? I appreciate any help you can give. Here's the code I'm using: private var webPage:HTMLLoader; private function registerEvents():void { this.addEventListener(gameLoadEvent.GAME_LOAD, gameLoad); //webPage = new HTMLLoader(); } //function called back from Game Command to load correct game private function gameLoad(event:Event):void { var gameEvent:gameLoadEvent = event as gameLoadEvent; loadgame(gameEvent.url, gameEvent.variables); } private function loadgame(url:String, variableString:String):void { DesktopModelLocator.getInstance().scaleX = 1; DesktopModelLocator.getInstance().scaleY = 1; //var url:String = "http://pro-us.sbt-corp.com/aspx/member/LaunchGame.aspx"; var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest(url); //var variables:URLVariables = new URLVariables("gameNum=17&as=as1&t=demo&package=a&btnQuit=0"); if(variableString != null && variableString != ""){ var variables:URLVariables = new URLVariables(variableString); variables.exampleSessionId = new Date().getTime(); variables.exampleUserLabel = "guest"; request.data = variables; } webPage = HTMLLoader.createRootWindow(true, null, true, null); webPage.height = systemManager.stage.nativeWindow.height - 66; webPage.width = systemManager.stage.nativeWindow.width; webPage.load(request); webPage.navigateInSystemBrowser = false; flexBrowser.addChild(webPage); } ]]> </mx:Script> <mx:HTML id="flexBrowser" width="1366" height="658" backgroundAlpha="0.45" creationComplete="registerEvents();" x="0" y="0"> </mx:HTML>

  • Retrieving information with Python's urllib from a page that is done via __doPostBack()?

    - by Omar
    I'm trying to parse a page that has different sections that are loaded with a Javascript __doPostBack() function. An example of a link is: javascript:__doPostBack('ctl00$cphMain$ucOemSchPicker$dlSch$ctl03$btnSch','') As soon as this is clicked, the browser doesn't fetch a new URL but a section of webpage is updated to reflect new information. What would I pass into a urllib function to complete the operation?

  • ASP.Net MVC Ajax form with jQuery validation

    - by Tomas Lycken
    I have an MVC view with a form built with the Ajax.BeginForm() helper method, and I'm trying to validate user input with the jQuery Validation plugin. I get the plugin to highlight the inputs with invalid input data, but despite the invalid input the form is posted to the server. How do I stop this, and make sure that the data is only posted when the form validates? My code The form: <fieldset> <legend>leave a message</legend> <% using (Ajax.BeginForm("Post", new AjaxOptions { UpdateTargetId = "GBPostList", InsertionMode = InsertionMode.InsertBefore, OnSuccess = "getGbPostSuccess", OnFailure = "showFaliure" })) { %> <div class="column" style="width: 230px;"> <p> <label for="Post.Header"> Rubrik</label> <%= Html.TextBox("Post.Header", null, new { @style = "width: 200px;", @class="text required" }) %></p> <p> <label for="Post.Post"> Meddelande</label> <%= Html.TextArea("Post.Post", new { @style = "width: 230px; height: 120px;" }) %></p> </div> <p> <input type="submit" value="OK!" /></p> </fieldset> The JavaScript validation: $(document).ready(function() { // for highlight var elements = $("input[type!='submit'], textarea, select"); elements.focus(function() { $(this).parents('p').addClass('highlight'); }); elements.blur(function() { $(this).parents('p').removeClass('highlight'); }); // for validation $("form").validate(); }); EDIT: As I was getting downvotes for publishing follow-up problems and their solutions in answers, here is also the working validate method... function ajaxValidate() { return $('form').validate({ rules: { "Post.Header": { required: true }, "Post.Post": { required: true, minlength: 3 } }, messages: { "Post.Header": "Please enter a header", "Post.Post": { required: "Please enter a message", minlength: "Your message must be 3 characters long" } } }).form(); }

  • Matlab help: I am given a second order differential equation.I need to use matlab to find unit step response and impulse response?

    - by Cady Smith
    I have the second order differential equation d^2(y(t))/dt^2+ B1*d(y(t))/dt+ c1*y(t)=A1*x(t) t is in seconds and is greater than 0. A1, B1, C1 are constants that equal: A1= 3.8469x10^6 B1= 325.6907 C1= 3.8469x10^6 This system is linear, time-invariant, and casual. The system is called H1. I want to use Matlab to compute and plot the impulse response function h1(t) and the unit step response function g1(t) of this system.

The function main.main() takes no arguments and returns no value.

  • improve javascript prototypal inheritance

    - by Julio
    I'm using a classical javascript prototypal inheritance, like this: function Foo() {} Naknek.prototype = { //Do something }; var Foo = window.Foo = new Foo(); I want to know how I can improve this and why I can't use this model: var Foo = window.Foo = new function() { }; Foo.prototype = { //Do something }; Why this code doesn't work? In my head this is more logical than the classical prototypal inheritance.

  • Proper indentation for Python multiline strings

    What is the proper indentation for Python multiline strings within a function? def method: string = """line one line two line three""" or def method: string = """line one line two line three""" or something else? It looks kind of weird to have the string hanging outside the function in the first example. Thanks.

I would like to know, what functions the lexer needs to provide and a brief explanation of what each function needs to do. I'll accept the most complete list. An example function would be: next: Consume the current token and return it
