  I was reading a Wikipedia article about Java EE application servers here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Java_Platform,_Enterprise_Edition#Java_EE_5_certified It says that 2 APIs that Java App Services implement are: javax.enterprise.inject javax.enterprise.context These both relate to application context and dependency injection JSR-299. I had never heard of these APIs before. Does Spring implement these APIs? Would it matter to anyone if they did?

  Hi, Is sequential coupling (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sequential_coupling) really a bad thing in code? Although it's an anti-pattern, the only risk I see is calling methods in the wrong order but documentation of an API/class library with this anti-pattern should take care of that. What other problems are there from code which is sequential? Also, this pattern could easily be fixed by using a facade it seems. Thanks

  I made a small page (http://www.ovlu.li) using CMS Made Simple (http://www.cmsmadesimple.org/). It looks more or less okay in all browser, but the problem is, if a resize the window to a smaller size, sometimes the layout of the subnavigation layer is destroyed. Instead of getting smaller, all the elements are ordered more or less randomly. Any hints why?

• ASP.NET MVC subdomain shows folder name

  Hi, I'm using godaddy shared hosting, with IIS7, Integrated mode, and published up a bog standard MVC2 app to dev.lazygekko.com created with Visual Web Developer 2010. It all works, however when any of the links are clicked, they point to dev.lazygekko.com/dev/..., dev being the folder it is pointing at. Can anyone shed some light on what I may be doing wrong? • MacPorts / Terminal: `Unrecognized action "sudo"`

  I'm trying to install Image Magick on MAMP. And I'm seriously out of my depth. I've installed MacPorts, and opened the terminal. I've typed in sudo port -v selfupdate per the instructions on http://www.macports.org/install.php#pkg But the response I get from the Terminal is Unrecognized action "sudo" I've googled and googled, but can't find anything that makes a slab of sense. Any clever people feeling generous?

  I have a grails app (v 1.1.2) the logging is working fine from the groovy classes, but I can't get it to work from within a java source... I have a class in package com.mforms.devices., it imports apache log4j, defines the logger as follows private final org.apache.log4j.Logger loggy = Logger.getLogger(this.getClass()); then refer to it later by doing loggy.error("...") my Config.groovy has the following log4j = { error 'com.mforms' root { error 'stdout', 'file' additivity = true } } What am I doing wrong?!?!

• Can we turn on the iphone's number keyboard WITHOUT using type=number?

  I'm making a webapp, and I'd like an input field to show the Iphone's number keypad. I understand that type=number will make the keypad show the way I'd like. The trouble is that type=number does not support placeholder text. So if I would like this: Expiration Date: [eg: 2010] I can not get it to work, and also show the right keyboard. Is there a way to force the iphone keyboard into number mode without using the number input type?

• Why is CSS ignored on XP home SP3 in IE8 and in FF 3.6.3?

  Are there any fixes for this? This issue effects a machine recently upgraded to sp3 from sp2. CSS images and backgrounds not rendered on yahoo mail or wellingtonpeoplescentre.org.nz. IE8 is a recent upgrade from IE7. FF3.6.3 is a fresh install. firebug proves .css is received by FF3. Owner is kind of freaked by what she is seeing.

• Java: Writing a DOM to an XML file (formatting issues)

  I'm using org.w3c XML API to open an existing XML file. I'm removing some nodes , and I'm adding others instead . The problem is that the new nodes that are added are written one after another , with no newline and no indentation what so ever. While it's true that the XML file is valid , it is very hard for a human to examnine it. Is there anyway to add indentation , or at least a newline after each node ?
