• uncompressing .zip file in linux [closed]

  hi, I have a .zip file (It contains multiple files, ex: file1.txt file2.txt file3.txt.. n so on) in a directory. And my query is: How to extract the files from .zip archive to the very same directory and how to create the list of all the files extracted from .zip archive.** The extracted file name should be printed like this in the file named: file_list: file1.txt file2.txt file3.txt filen.txt I have tried the following command assuming that my .zip file name is "data.zip". unzip -qoj data.zip | unzip -ql data.zip > file_list I have used unzip -qoj data.zip to extract all the files in the same directory(quietly,overwrite,junk_path). When I try to insert -l with the first unzip command then the command doesn't extract the file in the current and only files are listed thats why I have to used unzip again after the first pipe(If I am making a mistake here let me know please).   Hi experts, I am developing an desktop based application using VB.NET, similar to add/remove program. everything was working fine until i start working on uninstall feature. Now what am i doing is that i get the uninstall string of the specific application from the registry and use System.Diagnostics.Process to run UninstallString. Dim proc As New Process() proc.StartInfo.FileName =UninstallString proc.Start() proc.WaitForExit() proc.Close() latter i found that it only work for straight file paths only, i mean with no command line argument like: C:\program files\someApp\uninstall.exe I make a list of list of all UninstallStrings of all application installed on my machine. i found few things like application installed using MSI, some were with rundll32 and few were with straight file path with some command argument like: My Silverlight SDK UninstallString, MSI Example MsiExec.exe /X{2012098D-EEE9-4769-8DD3-B038050854D4} My JetAudio UninstallString, RunDll32 Example RunDll32 C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\INSTAL~1\engine\6\INTEL3~1\Ctor.dll,LaunchSetup "C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information{91F34319-08DE-457A-99C0-0BCDFAC145B9}\Setup.exe" -l0x9 My Google Chrome UninstallString, straight file path with command argument example "C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\5.0.375.55\Installer\setup.exe" -uninstall The code i mentioned above does not work for these. i did some string parsing, separate two thing from UninstallString one is Filename and other is Arguments. like for MSI, filename is MSIEXEC.EXE and argument will be rest of the string, same for RunDLL32, same for straight file path with command argument. Now what am i facing is that, after every 2 or 3 days i come to know that this type of unistallstring is also not working. and why is that not working because it is a new type maybe abc C:\program files\someapp.exe -ddd so parse it too. is there any better way of doing that rather then parsing the string.

  This is the first time I've used interceptors with the fluent registration and I'm missing something. With the following registration, I can resolve an IProcessingStep, and it's a proxy class and the interceptor is in the __interceptors array, but for some reason, the interceptor is not called. Any ideas what I'm missing?   I have the following code which definitely returns a proper data result if I use the 2.0.0 version, but for some reason bootstrap's typeahead plugin is giving me an error. Naturally VB.NET variables will be used in place of the SQL local variables. My problem is this: All of the conditions after "WHERE" are optional. In that a query might be made that uses one, some, all, or none of the conditions. V.PropertyID and V.Value can also appear any number of times. In VB.NET I can make this query easy enough by simply concatenating strings, and using a loop to append the "V.PropertyID/V.Value" conditions. I can also make a Stored Procedure in MS SQL, which is easy enough. However, I want to accomplish this using LINQ. If anyone could direct me, I would be most appreciative.

  How ca I use Subsonic's Find<T> method to search for rows with a field containing the "null" value. For the sake of the discussion, let's assume I have a c# class called "Visit" which contains a nullable DateTime field called "SynchronizedOn" and also let's assume that the Subsonic migration has created the corresponding "Visits" table and the "SynchronizedOn" field. If I was to write the SQL query myself, I would write something like: SELECT * FROM Visits WHERE SynchronizedOn IS NULL When I use the following code: var visits = myRepository.Find<Visit>(x => x.SynchronizedOn == null); Subsonic turns it into the following SQL query: SELECT * FROM Visits WHERE SynchronizedOn == null which never returns any rows. I tried the following code but it throws an error: visits = repository.Find<Visit>(x => x.SynchronizedOn.HasValue); I was able to use the following syntax: var query = from v in repository.All<Visit>() where v.SynchronizedOn == null orderby v.CreatedOn select v; visits = query.ToList<Visit>(); but it's not as nice an short as using the Find<T> method. Anyone knows how I can specify the "SynchronizedOn IS NULL" condition in the Find<T> method?

• How do I detect if there is already a similar document stored in Lucene index.

  Hi. I need to exclude duplicates in my database. The problem is that duplicates are not considered exact match but rather similar documents. For this purpose I decided to use FuzzyQuery like follows: var fuzzyQuery = new global::Lucene.Net.Search.FuzzyQuery( new Term("text", queryText), 0.8f, 0); hits = _searcher.Search(query); The idea was to set the minimal similarity to 0.8 (that I think is high enough) so only similar documents will be found excluding those that are not sufficiently similar. To test this code I decided to see if it finds already existing document. To the variable queryText was assigned a value that is stored in the index. The code from above found nothing, in other words it doesn't detect even exact match. Index was build by this code: doc.Add(new global::Lucene.Net.Documents.Field( "text", text, global::Lucene.Net.Documents.Field.Store.YES, global::Lucene.Net.Documents.Field.Index.TOKENIZED, global::Lucene.Net.Documents.Field.TermVector.WITH_POSITIONS_OFFSETS)); I followed recomendations from bellow and the results are: TermQuery doesn't return any result. Query contructed with var _analyzer = new RussianAnalyzer(); var parser = new global::Lucene.Net.QueryParsers .QueryParser("text", _analyzer); var query = parser.Parse(queryText); var _searcher = new IndexSearcher (Settings.General.Default.LuceneIndexDirectoryPath); var hits = _searcher.Search(query); Returns several results with the maximum score the document that has exact match and other several documents that have similar content.

• Using nhibernate <loader> element with HQL queries

  Hi All I'm attempting to use an HQL query in element to load an entity based on other entities. My class is as follows public class ParentOnly { public ParentOnly(){} public virtual int Id { get; set; } public virtual string ParentObjectName { get; set; } } and the mapping looks like this <class name="ParentOnly"> <id name="Id"> <generator class="identity" /> </id> <property name="ParentObjectName" /> <loader query-ref="parentonly"/> </class> <query name="parentonly" > select new ParentOnly() from SimpleParentObject as spo where spo.Id = :id </query> The class that I am attemping to map on top of is SimpleParentObject, which has its own mapping and can be loaded and saved without problems. When I call session.Get(id) the sql runs correctly against the SimpleParentObject table, and the a ParentOnly object is instantiated (as I can step through the constructer), but only a null comes back, rather than the instantiated ParentOnly object. I can do this succesfully using a instead of the HQL, but am trying to build this in a database independent fashion. Any thoughts on how to get the and elements to return a populated ParentOnly object...? Thanks Matt

  Hello, I'm having a serious issue with MySQL and Entity Framework 4.0. I have dropped a Table onto the EF Designer surface, and everything seems OK. However, when I perform a query in the following fashion: using(entityContext dc = new entityContext()) { int numRows = dc.myTable.Count(); } The query that is generated looks something like this: SELECT `GroupBy1`.`A1` AS `C1` FROM (SELECT Count(1) AS `A1` FROM (SELECT `pricing table`.`a`, `pricing table`.`b`, `pricing table`.`c`, `pricing table`.`d`, `pricing table`.`e`, `pricing table`.`f`, `pricing table`.`g`, `pricing table`.`h`, `pricing table`.`i` FROM `pricing table` AS `pricing table`) AS `Extent1`) AS `GroupBy1` As should be evident, this is an excruciatingly unoptimized query. It is selecting every single row! This is not optimal, nor is it even possible for me to use MySQL + EF at this point. I have tried both the MySQL 6.3.1 [that was fun to install] and DevArt's dotConnect for MySQL and both produce the same results. This table has 1.5 million records.. and takes 6-11s to execute! What am I doing wrong ? Is there any way to optimize this [and other queries] to produce sane code like: SELECT COUNT(*) FROM table ? Generating the same query using SQLServer takes virtually no time and produces sane code. Help! Thanks! Matthew

• How to change identifier quote character in SSIS for connection to ODBC DSN

  I'm trying to create an SSIS 2008 Data Source View that reads from an Ingres database via the ODBC driver for Ingres. I've downloaded the Ingres 10 Community Edition to get the ODBC driver, installed it, set up the data access server and a DSN on the server running SSIS. If I connect to the SQL Server 2008 Database Engine on the server running SSIS, I can retrieve data from Ingres over the ODBC DSN by running the following command: SELECT * FROM OPENROWSET( 'MSDASQL' , 'DSN=IngresODBC;UID=testuser;PWD=testpass' , 'SELECT * FROM iitables') So I am quite sure that the ODBC setup is correct. If I try the same query with SQL Server style bracketed identifier quotes, I get an error, as Ingres doesn't support this syntax. SELECT * FROM OPENROWSET( 'MSDASQL' , 'DSN=IngresODBC;UID=testuser;PWD=testpass' , 'SELECT * FROM [iitables]') The error is "[Ingres][Ingres 10.0 ODBC Driver][Ingres 10.0]line 1, Unexpected character '['.". What I am finding is that I get the same error when I try to add tables from Ingres to an SSIS Data Source View. The initial step of selecting the ODBC Provider works fine, and I am shown a list of tables / views to add. I then select any table, and try to add it to the view, and get "ERROR [5000A] [Ingres][Ingres 10.0 ODBC Driver][Ingres 10.0]line 3, Unexpected character '['.". Following Ed Harper's suggestion of creating a named query also seems to be stymied. If I put into my named query the following text: SELECT * FROM "iitables" I still get an error: "ERROR [5000A] [Ingres][Ingres 10.0 ODBC Driver][Ingres 10.0]line 2, Unexpected character '['". According to the error, the query text passed by SSIS to ODBC was: SELECT [iitables].* FROM ( SELECT * FROM "iitables" ) AS [iitables] It seems that SSIS assumes that bracket quote characters are acceptable, when they aren't. How can I persuade it not to use them? Double quotes are acceptable.

• drew's autoSuggest plugin help with AJAX results not showing

  hey guys, i use drew's autoSuggest plugin for some time but up until now I have hard coded my data into my JS, I'm trying to see if I can use AJAX to return the JSON data and query data like that. I seem to have it working but no matter what I try I can't get the results to be shown in the drop down UL it creates via jquery. The JSON comes back as it should. • Exclude string from wildcard in bash

  Hi, I'm trying to adapt a bash script from "Sams' Teach Yourself Linux in 24 Hours" which is a safe delete command called rmv. The files are removed by calling rmv -d file1 file2 etc. In the original script a max of 4 files can by removed using the variables $1 $2 $3 $4. I want to extend this to an unlimited number of files by using a wildcard. So I do: for i in $* do mv $i $HOME/.trash done The files are deleted okay but the option -d of the command rmv -d is also treated as an argument and bash objects that it cannot be found. Is there a better way to do this? In my dev environment, where speedy deployments are a bit more important for productivity than a production deployment, I have been working on speeding up the process. I have a bash script that has been working decently but has some limitations. I fire up multiple 'svn updates' with the following bash command: (svn update /repo1) & (svn update /repo2) & (svn update /repo3) & These all run in parallel and it works pretty well. I also use this pattern in the rest of the build script for firing off each ant build, then moving the wars to Tomcat. However, I have no control over stopping deployment if one of the updates or a build fails. I'm re-writing my bash script with Python so I have more control over branches and the deployment process. I am using subprocess.call() to fire off the 'svn update /repo' commands, but each one is acting sequentially. I try '(svn update /repo) &' and those all fire off, but the result code returns immediately. So I have no way to determine if a particular command fails or not in the asynchronous mode. import subprocess subprocess.call( 'svn update /repo1', shell=True ) subprocess.call( 'svn update /repo2', shell=True ) subprocess.call( 'svn update /repo3', shell=True ) I'd love to find a way to have Python fire off each Unix command, and if any of the calls fails at any time the entire script stops.

• What is the best way to parse python script file in C/C++ code

  I am embedding python in C/C++ program. What I am trying to do is to parse the python script file from the C/C++ program, break the file to "blocks" so that each "block" is an a valid command in python code. Each block I need to put into std::string. What is the best way to do this, is there any Python C/C++ API function that supports this? why i need it - for GUI purpose. My program , which is writen in C, uses python to make some calculations. I run from C code , using python C API , python script and what i need is a way to capture python's output in my program. I catch it and evrything is ok, the problem is when the script involves user input. What happens is that i capture python's output after the script is finished , therefore, when there is an input command in the script i get a black screen .... i need to get all the printings before the input command. The first solution i tried is to parss the script to valid commands and run each comand, one after the other , seperatly .... for this i need to pars the script and deside what is a command and what is not ... The question is : what is the best way to do this and if there is somthing that allready does ?

• How to stop tcpdump remotely using expect from a new telnet session

  I am trying to stop the tcpdump command from running on a remote terminal. If I telnet to the terminal, start tcpdump, and then send a ^c, tcpdump stops with no issues. However if I telnet to the same terminal, start tcpdump, and then exit the telnet session, when I reconnect to the same telnet session I am unable to stop tcpdump via a ^c. When I do this instead of stopping tcpdump it seems that it just quits the telnet session and tcpdump continues to run on the remote terminal. I provided my script below.   How can I convert this Perl code to Groovy? How to bypass confirmation prompts of an external process? I am trying to convert a Perl script to Groovy. The program is loading/delete maestro (job scheduling) jobs automatically. The problem is the delete command will prompt for confirmation (Y/N) on every single job that it finds. I tried the process execute in groovy but will stop at the prompts. The Perl script is writing bunch of Ys to the stream and print it to the handler( if I understood it correctly) to avoid stopping. I am wondering how to do the same thing in Groovy ? Or any other approach to execute a command and somehow write Y on every confirmation prompt. • Will running aspnet_regiis.exe -ir create any problems?

  Hi there. I've asked a question about changing the version of .Net sites in the IIS. If it affects classic asp sites etc (See Does asp.net setting affect classic asp (IIS 6 settings)) And that seems fine. So my follow-up question is, will running this command get me fired? What it does is changing the default value (and all existing?) of the .net version to 2.0. This wont affect any of the .net sites since they're allready versioned to 2.0. The classic asp pages needs to get its app pools updated so its functionoal with 2.0 but may I run into any other troubles? I've tried doing this on a test environment and no sites whet down during the installation period (from the command) but I did not have any classic asp sites or any .net sites running though (which I should test, come to think about it) but may something else break? Is this command doing anything else? We have some very large sites running and we cannot have downtime periods so I need to be 100% sure that this command is safe. Since all sites go down everytime we change a new sites .net version number we need to get this fix live asap. Any good ideas?

  I am trying to debug a strange behavior in my application. In order to do so, I need to reproduce a scenario where an SQL SELECT query will throw an error, but only while actually fetching from the cursor, not while executing the query itself. Can this be done? Any error will do, but ORA-01722: invalid number seems like the obvious one to try. I created a table with the follwing: KEYCOL INTEGER PRIMARY KEY OTHERCOL VARCHAR2(100) I then created a few hundred rows with unique values for the primary key and the value l for the othercol. I then ran a SELECT * query, picked a row somewhere in the middle, and updated it to the string abcd. I ran the query SELECT KEYCOL, TO_NUMBER(OTHERCOL) FROM SOMETABLE hoping to get some rows of good data an then an error later. But I keep getting ORA-01722: invalid number on the execute step itself. I have gotten this behavior programmatically using ADO (with server-side cursor) and JDBC, as well as from PL/SQL Developer. How can I get the result I'm looking for? thanks Edit - meant to add, when using ADO, I am only calling Command.Execute. I am not creating or opening a Recordset.

• Can Sql Server 2005 Pivot table have nText passed into it?

  Right bit of a simple question can I input nText into a pivot table? (SQL Server 2005) What I have is a table which records the answers to a questionnaire consisting of the following elements for example: UserID QuestionNumber Answer Mic 1 Yes Mic 2 No Mic 3 Yes Ste 1 Yes Ste 2 No Ste 3 Yes Bob 1 Yes Bob 2 No Bob 3 Yes With the answers being held in nText. Anyway what id like a Pivot table to do is: UserID 1 2 3 Mic Yes No Yes Ste Yes No Yes Bob Yes No Yes I have some test code, that creates a pivot table but at the moment it just shows the number of answers in each column (code can be found below). So I just want to know is it possible to add nText to a pivot table? As when I've tried it brings up errors and someone stated on another site that it wasn't possible, so I would like to check if this is the case or not. Just for further reference I don't have the opportunity to change the database as it's linked to other systems that I haven't created or have access too.
