• Using WFC authentication service for web application

  I am using a WFC authentication service I set up with a web application. I have successfully set up and tested the AuthenticationService and RolesService. The web application can successfully call methods like ValidateUser and GetRolesForCurrentUser through the WFC services. I want to integrate the WFC authentication service with my web.config and site.map. Do I need to write a custom provider, or is there some way I can modify the web.config of the web application to use the WFC authentication service as its membership provider? This way I can set what roles have access to what directories based off the WFC authentication service.

  I am trying to get the on screen location of an NSStatusItem so that I can perform a click on that area via code like below. • why can't I open a port on Win 7? is it the app's fault?

  I am having problems opening a port from one Windows PC on my local network. On Windows 7 computer ("Computer A") I running Calibre, an ebook management program that has something called an "ebook content server" . In essence, it serves via the web a content catalog. From Computer A, I can access the content server on localhost. ie. http://127.0.0.1:8787 calls up the content server successfully. With ipconfig I have confirmed that its local IP address is 192.168.1.106 From Computer B (a Vista Machine) I can ping 192.168.1.106 I have tried opening/editing a port in the Windows Firewall several times. In Windows firewall -- Allowed Programs in Control Panel, I see a listing for Calibre (with both Home/Work and PUblic checked) In details, I see Name: Calibre, Port Number 8787, Protocol TCP If I use the Advanced Security configuration screen for the firewall, I created an Inbound Rule on Computer A for Calibre (with the settings I indicated). From Windows Computer B, I can, ping 192.168.1.106 and even view http://drupal.local (on Computer A) and http://192.168.1.106/ (which goes to the Xampp config screen on Computer A). But I cannot access via Computer B htttp://192.168.1.106:8787 or htttp://computerhosta:8787 So what is going wrong? Is this a problem with the Calibre application or have I incorrectly opened the port? What things could possibly interfere with the opening of this port? On a sidenote, I have tried using telnet from Computer B to see if port 80 or 8787 is open for 192.168.1.106. I get no reply for either one. Thanks.

  I'm working on a new presenation component for one of our applications. I am building a Custom WPF Control that just has a DocumentViewer in it and hosting that CC in a Windows Forms application with an ElementHost. I'm using Visual Studio 2008 with C#. I have customized everything through the XAML to give it the look and feel that integrates it perfecting into our application, but one thing remains... If you press CTRL+P the print dialog still comes up. I'm at a complete loss as to how to disable that fuction. The use of this CC is to allow the users to pull up and view the Manuals for the systems installed at that site, but we don't want them to accidently print them (100s of pages). Please help, -G

  Hi all, In my application I have this requirement that first tap on custom cell of uitableview with a label in it should expand it and second should contract it. I'm able to expand and contract cell and expand label inside cell, but not able to contract the label on second tap. I'm using this function - (void)setSelected:(BOOL)selected animated:(BOOL)animated { [super setSelected:selected animated:animated]; if( selected == YES ) { [self expandRow]; } else { [self contractRow]; } height = [lblFeed frame].size.height + 75; } expandRow expands the label and contractRow contracts it. I'm perplexed as for how many rows this function gets called. It doesn't get called only for the cell tapped, it gets called more number of times for single tap on single cell may be for other cells but I'm not getting which rows. This' really urgent. Can anybody please help?

  I am using a ASP.net form with custom onclick mouse events to modify data values. Upon clicking and updating the values, one div section of the form performs a postback. onclick="__doPostBack('ctl01$phCon1$gridReports','sel1')" This is working well, however when the browser BACK option is selected, the browser opens goes through the history of the DIV ajax/onclick actions prior to going back to the prior URL. I suspect that this may be due to the doPostBack being treated as a browsing operation. Is there a means to perform the necessary ASP.net code events to make the page work, but not have the action stored in the browser history?

• Forward all traffic through an ssh tunnel

  I hope someone can follow this and I'll explain as best I can. I'm trying to forward all traffic from port 6999 on x.x.x.224, through an ssh tunnel, and onto port 7000 on x.x.x.218. Here is some ASCII art: |browser|-----|Squid on x.x.x.224|------|ssh tunnel|------<satellite link>-----|Squid on x.x.x.218|-----|www| 3128 6999 7000 80 When I remove the ssh tunnel, everything works fine. The idea is to turn off encryption on the ssh tunnel (to save bandwidth) and turn on maximum compression (to save more bandwidth). This is because it's a satellite link. Here's the ssh tunnel I've been using: ssh -C -f -C -o CompressionLevel=9 -o Cipher=none [email protected] -L 7000:172.16.1.224:6999 -N The trouble is, I don't know how to get data from Squid on x.x.x.224 into the ssh tunnel? Am I going about this the wrong way? Should I create an ssh tunnel on x.x.x.218? I use iptables to stop squid on x.x.x.224 from reading port 80, but to feed from port 6999 instead (i.e. via the ssh tunnel). Do I need another iptables rule? Any comments greatly appreciated. (based on this answer) I already have the mechanism how to catch an invalid route and the custom 404 page is served by my ErrorController/Handle404 action. The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. • ASP.NET authentication login and logout with browser back button

  Hi, I am looking for a solution for user use the browser's back button to navigate to previous page once logged out. I have a web application build in asp.net and using a custom membership provider for authentication and authorization. Everything works fine except when the user click on the logout link to log out of the application and being redirect to a default cover page, if the use click on the BACK BUTTON on their browser, it will actually go back to where they were before and the data will still show up. Of course they can't do anything on that page, click on anything link they will be redirect to a login page again. But having those information display is making a lot users confused. i am just wondering if there is any way i can either clear the browser's history so use can't go BACK, or when they click on the back button and have them redirect to the login page. thanks

The formatted xml that I get is as below: node1, node2, node 3 are attributes of pojo,DetailDollars 100 25 10 I have requirement where in I have to calucluate a percentage, for example 100/ 25 and add the new node to the existing ones. So, the final output should be : 100 25 10 4 I wrote a custom converter and registered to my xstream object. public void marshal(..){ writer.startNode("node4"); writer.setValue(getNode1()/ getnode2() ); writer.endNode(); } But, the xml stream I get has only the new node: 4 I am not sure which xstream api would get me the desired format. could you please help me with this .   I want to create a vector<vector<int>> where the outer vector is fixed (always containing the same vectors), but the inner vectors can be changed. I tried doing simply const vector<vector<int>>, but that makes even the inner vectors const. Is my only option to create my own custom FixedVectors class, or are there better ways out there to do this?

• Eclipse standard warning/error overlay icons

  I'm writing an Eclipse plug-in... In my custom label decorator, I want to overlay a warning icon, and I'd like to use the standard one used by eclipse (the little yellow triangle). How can I get an image descriptor of this icon? I tried using workbench.getSharedImages().getImageDescriptor(ISharedImages .IMG_DEC_FIELD_WARNING), since that ID seems to match what I'm looking for, but the shared images collection doesn't actually have that image in it (so I just get a null returned). Is there some other shared image collection that I should be looking at?

For example, take a look at Google's number of MB of free storage on the Gmail homepage, under the heading that reads "Lots of space". I'm looking for something similar, but I'd like to be able to specify: The start number The end number The amount of time it should take to get from start to end.   Hi I have a requirement to develop custom reports where we already have some reoprts developed using JasperReports using iReport tool. Now the requirement is to modify those reports design at run time. I should use those existing jrxml files and save as to new report then change the design at run time. Also I should see those newly created reports whenever I want. I have gone through the Jasper API and Dynamic Reports where we can create the reports dynamically at run time but we can't save the design (like JRXML). • C# .Net file in use issue

  I'm having an issue opening files that have recently been closed by the .Net framework. Basically, what happens is the following: -Read in an XML file using DataSet.ReadXml() -Make some changes to the data -Write out the XML file using DataSet.WriteXml() -Copy the XML file to a new location using File.Copy -FTP the file using a custom control This sequence can intermittently fail either after the WriteXML or the File.Copy with a file in use exception. I'm guessing it could be the Windows write cache not flushing right away. Can anyone confirm that this could be causing my issue? Any solutions to suggest? Thanks, Dan

  We have deployed a java webapplication in Elastic Beanstalk with the minimum instance count 1 and max instance count 2 for Autoscaling. The custom AMI we are using is c1.medium with Sun JDK 6. The environment status changed to yellow and then red. After checking into the log file from the snapshot logs we found a exception - Caused by: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space. Assuming this could be one of the possible reason for the Environment failure. The settings that we have configured in the Environment Container option are Initial JVM Heap Size (MB) - 256M Maximum JVM Heap Size (MB) - 512m The maximum heap size the java virtual machine will ever consume, specified on the JVM launch command line using -Xmx. Maximum JVM Permanent Generation Size (MB) - 512m Should i increase the Heap size from 512m to more or is it fine.

• Dynamically populate an InfoPath DropownList with managed code

  I have an InfoPath form with custom C# code, and a Sharepoint list. I have a dropdownlist in the InfoPath form that I want to populate with a certain field from the Sharepoint list (I want the InfoPath dropdownlist to contain this field's value from every item in the Sharepoint list. I can successfully get the list of values I need from Sharepoint in my managed code, but I do not see how I can get these values into the dropdownlist (either bind to the list, or add each item in the list one by one). I thought I could modify the XML of the dropdownlist to insert my items, but the XML only contains the first item in the dropdownlist: <my:RelatedRiskID xmlns:my="http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/infopath/2003/myXSD/2009-07-20T18:12:59">Option 1</my:RelatedRiskID> I feel like this should be possible, but I can't find any resources on how to do it.
