• iPhone universal app. MoviePlayer.framwork problem.

  I have application based on 3.0 iPhone OS SDK One of tasks is playing video (I use MPMoviePlayerController for this task) Now I try to make universal app working on both 3.0 and 3.2 OS I did all steps described in apple documentation: Upgrade Current Target for iPad; make run-time checking for symbols using [[UIDevice currentDevice] respondsToSelector:@selector(userInterfaceIdiom)] function. • JSON.Net and Linq

  I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to linq and I'm working on a site that parses a json feed using json.net. The problem that I'm having is that I need to be able to pull multiple fields from the json feed and use them for a foreach block. The documentation for json.net only shows how to pull just one field. I've done a few variations after checking out the linq documentation, but I've not found anything that works best.   I think of a game as a state machine. Game States separate I/O processing, game logic and rendering into different classes: while (game_loop) { game->state->io_events(this); game->state->logic(this); game->state->rendering(); } You can easily change a game state in this approach. MVC separation works in more complex way: while (game_loop) { game->cotroller->io_events(this); game->model->logic(this); game->view->rendering(); } So changing Game States becomes error prone task (switch 3 MVC objects, not 1). What are practical ways of combining these 2 concepts?

  I'm looking for help with a php soapclient call: The call is to a remote panel and I want to pull off the log data. There are various services published via the WSDL and I am able to use several with no issues.   I can't believe I'm back to this after working with WPF for 3 months :) Consider very common setup: How do I configure the rowheights so that the top and bottom rows (menu bar and status bar) size to fit the height of their content, and the middle row (main content), fills the remaining available space in the program?   Hi folks, I've been given the task of posting to a RESTful server. I'm new to the official "REST" but I've played with the concept before. However, this time I have an XML Payload example file that I am supposed to post. I'm struggling to figure out how the two relate. Can you help? Right now I can post to a specific site, say www.pcpost.com/schema/Application I can generate the URL for the inital, ie: postApplication?userid=4&... Being relatively new to web programming, I find that don't know how to take the following and interface it with the server. I'm at least familiar with Javascript and PHP. If this is impossible with those two types, I can learn whatever would be best. Thanks for your help on this. • Enabling browser caching via java

  Good day, I am using CacheFilter to filter a certain path to my server (which outputs an image stream to the response stream). And I've configured it in my web.xml as follows: <filter> <filter-name>imagesCache</filter-name> <filter-class>com.samaxes.cachefilter.presentation.CacheFilter</filter-class> <init-param> <param-name>privacy</param-name> <param-value>public</param-value> </init-param> <init-param> <param-name>expirationTime</param-name> <param-value>2592000</param-value> </init-param> </filter> ... <filter-mapping> <filter-name>imagesCache</filter-name> <url-pattern>/my/path/*</url-pattern> </filter-mapping> Using my firefox, if I access my url via the address bar, it hits the server the first time but uses the cache during succeeding calls. However, if the url is inside my page ( i.e. <img src="..."/> ), it seems to hit the server all the time. [EDIT] After a few more testing, accessing my image via the address bar does not work all the time. But caching does seem to work more often with it than . As to whether it really, I am not sure. Additional Info: my path is something like /my/path?then=some&query=strings. Notice that it doesn't have an extension (i.e. gif, png, jpeg ) but it's mimetype is set properly ( image/gif, image/png, image/jpeg ). I am not sure if the lack of extension or the presence of the query strings have any impact. (Also, another note. though my url have query strings, I am using the same uri + query string over and over again with my tests). Any ideas why? Thanks

  I have a android view with 2 buttons centered. I want to change the button sizes to be bigger when I run the app on a tablet because they look ridiculous small there since it is the same size as for the phones. How can I do this? • Can't Prevent Nested Div's from Overflowing when using Percent Sizes and Padding in CSS?

  I want to be able to layout nested divs with these properties: width: 100% height: 100% padding: 10px I want it to be such that, the children are 100% width and height of the remaining space after padding is calculated, not before. Otherwise, when I have a document like the below example, the child makes the scrollbars appear. But the scrollbars are not the main issue, the fact that the child stretches beyond the width of the parent container is. I can use all position: absolute declarations, but that doesn't seem right.   I have two web user controls nested inside of an update panel. The events inside the user controls do not appear to trigger the panel. For testing, I have set the method the fires to sleep for 3 seconds, and added an update progress panel to the page. The update progress panel never comes up and the page reflashes as usual. The user controls work correctly and do what they need to do, but I would like to make them ajaxy and pretty. • In GWT I'd like to load the main page on www.domain.com and a dynamic page on www.domain.com/xyz - I

  Hi, I have a question for which I'm sure there must a simple solution. I'm writing a small GWT application where I want to achieve this: www.domain.com : should serve the welcome page www.domain.com/xyz : should serve page xyz, where xyz is just a key for an item in a database. If there is an item associated with key xyz, I'll load that and show a page, otherwise I'll show a 404 error page. I was trying to modify the web.xml file accordingly but I just couldn't make it work. I could make it work with an url-pattern if the key in question is after another /, for example: www.domain.com/search/xyz. However, I'd like to have the key xyz directly following the root / (http://www.domain.com/xyz). Something like <servlet-mapping> <servlet-name>main</servlet-name> <url-pattern>/</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping> doesn't seem to work as I don't know how to address the main page index.html (as it's not an actual servlet) which will then load my main GWT module. I could make it work with a bad work around (see below): Redirecting a 404 exception to index.html and then doing the look up in the main entry point, but I'm sure that's not the best practice, also for SEO purposes. Can anyone give me a hint on how to configure the web.xml with GWT for my purpose? Thanks a lot. • pager problem with drupal and taxonomy

  Ok, so this is probably a silly question, but i thought i'd put it out there anyway: I know it's a strange solution to a simple problem, but i needed to control the listing of the nodes in the taxonomy pages, which i didn't feel i got the traditional way. So i went ahead and created a module that fetches the nodes based on taxonomy (taxonomy_select_nodes()), and i wanted a pager to go along with that. • Rails: Passing new child object placeholder (build) to parent view

  I've got 2 classes of objects... Magician has_many Rabbits and Rabbit belongs_to Magician. When viewing a Magician (show.html) I'd like to list all the associated Rabbits and then have some blank fields with a submit button to add a new Rabbit. To do so I build a new rabbit (associated to the current magician) in the Magician's show method (below). Edit2: found way to make it work but not sure if it's the "Rails way"? see comments inline (below): If I build the rabbit in Magician's show method then when show is rendered an empty (and invalid) rabbit ends the list before the new rabbit form fields are then shown. If I build it in the view itself then everything works & renders correctly. Therefore I need to reRender the <a4j:commandLink>-s which are performing the paste action (so it will show on the GUI or not). Simplified example: Problem is that copy links are deep in the tree. How is it possible to reRender on a higher level in the component tree? Could this be blocking the reRender I want to make? Also I want to rerender exactly those paste links, so no other rerender action is triggered. Hope it is clear what i want to achieve. • How do I imply code contracts of chained methods to avoid superfluous checks while chaining?

  I'm using Code Contracts in C# 4.0. I'm applying the usual static method chaining to simulate optional parameters (I know C# 4.0 supports optional parameters but I really don't want to use them). The thing is that my contract requirements are executed twice (or possibly the number of chained overloads I'd implement) if I call the Init(string , string[]) method -- an obvious effect from the sample source code below. • PHP Regex to remove nested form elements but not input elements

  I'm modifying a PHP script that I have and it is currently outputting a nested form. Something like: <form name="input" action="html_form_action.asp" method="get"> <p>stuff here here, this may or may not be in a div, script, etc..</p> <form name="input" action="html_form_action.asp" method="get"> <div>stuff here possibilly</div> Username: <input type="text" name="user" /> <input type="submit" value="Submit" /> </form> <p>otherstuff this may or may not be in a div, script, etc..</p> </form> Nested form's are a no-no (IE hates them and basically causes the form to stop working), so I need to remove the nested form lines, but not the form items. I need to remove the nested: <form name="input" action="html_form_action.asp" method="get"> and </form> but not the outer <form and </form> or the input or submit stuff. Is this possible to do with regex? Note, the reason I just want to regex out the form rather than find the problem is because I know it will take some significant re-working to get rid of the double form... the regex solution is quick for now.
