• Howcan I get started with Spring Batch?

  I'm trying to learn Spring Batch, but the startup guide is very confusing. Comments like You can get a pretty good idea about how to set up a job by examining the unit tests in the org.springframework.batch.sample package (in src/main/java) and the configuration in src/main/resources/jobs. aren't exactly helpful. Also I find the Sample project very complicated (17 non-empty Namespaces with 109 classes)! Is there a simpler place to get started with Spring Batch?

  Suppose a tree structure is implemented in SQL like this: CREATE TABLE nodes ( id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, parent INTEGER -- references nodes(id) ); Although cycles can be created in this representation, let's assume we never let that happen. The table will only store a collection of roots (records where parent is null) and their descendants. The goal is to, given an id of a node on the table, find all nodes that are descendants of it. A is a descendant of B if either A's parent is B or A's parent is a descendant of B. Note the recursive definition.   Hey there, I'm writing a program that passes data from a file into an array, but I'm having trouble with fopen (). It seems to work fine when I hardcode the file path into the parameters (eg fopen ("data/1.dat", "r");) but when I pass it as a pointer, it returns NULL. Say I attach this to my key ring, what would be required of the application to triangulate the location of the RFID tag in a 10m range. Would this even be possible using this technology?   I need to write a junit test for a rather complex application which runs in a tomcat.   My problem is this: I want to create a grails domain instance, defining the 'Many' instances of another domain that it has.   I want to parse markdown style links, but I'm having some trouble matching the reference style ones. Like this one: [id]: http://example.com/ "Optional Title Here" My regex gets the id and the url, but not the title. Heres what I have: /\[([a-zA-Z0-9_-]+)\]: (\S+)\s?("".*?"")?/ I go through and add the references to a hashtable. the id as the key and the value is an instance of a class I made called LinkReference that just contains the url and the title. • jQuery: script remember values between times it is triggered?

  Hello there, I am writing an ajax script in jQuery. The script gets new or previous page from a php documents that returns HTML. If, located on page 1, I click next, the script IS able to find the next page number (page2), but when I click it AGAIN, the script again has to be able to find the next page number (page3) and at the minute it doesnt. I was wondering how I can save a variable between time a script is triggered, so that I can just + 1 to each time somebody clicks "next", and -1 when somebody clicks "previous".   In the boost::shared_ptr destructor, this is done: if(--*pn == 0) { boost::checked_delete(px); delete pn; } where pn is a pointer to the reference counter, which is typedefed as shared_ptr::count_type -> detail::atomic_count -> long I would have expected the long to be volatile long, given threaded usage and the non-atomic 0-check-and-deletion in the shared_ptr destructor above. Why isn't it volatile?

  I'm converting a VB6 COM object that works with classic ASP to a c# .Net COM Object Interop_COMSVCS.ObjectContext objContext; Interop_COMSVCS.AppServer objAppServer; objAppServer = null; // need to initialize before using objAppServer = new Interop_COMSVCS.AppServer(); objContext = objAppServer.GetObjectContext(); oApplication = (Interop_ASP.Application)objContext["Application"]; oSession = (Interop_ASP.Session)objContext["Session"]; oResponse = (Interop_ASP.Response)objContext["Response"]; oRequest = (Interop_ASP.Request)objContext["Request"]; oSession works to store local information to.from ASP storage oResponse can do simple writes to the browser BUT any code like oRequest.Cookies["sessionId"] or oResponse.Cookies["sessionId"] doesn't provide any sort of read or write access. Any cast or conversion I trry to do tells me I'm dealing with an empty or null System Object. There doesn't seem to be any sort of syntax to get/set the cookie collection. With COM+ I've seesn soem articles that indcate a switch for Access to ASP Intrinsic Objects -- that seesm to describe my issue, but I'd rather not use COM+. There are also some articles that indicate if I was using ASP.NET I could use HttpContext and HttpRequest/Response, but that's a completely different set of data objects that don't seem to be available with classic ASP. I've been stuck on this fopr a few days. Any help appreciated.

When I click that tab, it is empty ! while it actually display the Coda slider.   I would like to display a Drupal view without the page template that normally surrounds it - I want just the plain HTML content of the view's nodes. This view would be included in another, non-Drupal site. I expect to have to do this with a number of views, so a solution that lets me set these up rapidly and easily would be the best - I'd prefer not to have to create a .tpl.php file every time I need to include a view somewhere.

• How do I refer to a constant URL in my route configuration?

  Suppose I have the following within a webpage <% using (Html.BeginForm("ShowData", "Summary")) %> <% { %> <div class="dropdown"><%=Html.DropDownList("CourseSelection", Model.CourseList, new { @class = "dropdown", onchange="this.form.submit();" })%> </div> <% } %> When the user makes a selection from the dropdown the form is submitted and I would like it to link to another page with a URL as follows: http://localhost:1721/Summary I have the following routes: routes.MapRoute(null, "Summary", new { controller = "Summary", action = "ShowData", CourseSelection = (string) null }); routes.MapRoute("Default", "{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { controller = "Login", action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional }); When a user selects an item in the dropdownlist, the URL returned is: http://localhost:1721/Summary/ShowData?CourseSelection = UserSelection Clearly the first route in the list is not being matched. I don't want the URL to show the action name and parameter. I simply want to show "Summary" which is what I have hard coded in the URL. How do I achieve this?

• Java 1.4 singleton containing a mutable field

  Hi, I'm working on a legacy Java 1.4 project, and I have a factory that instantiates a csv file parser as a singleton. In my csv file parser, however, I have a HashSet that will store objects created from each line of my CSV file. All that will be used by a web application, and users will be uploading CSV files, possibly concurrently. Now my question is : what is the best way to prevent my list of objects to be modified by 2 users ? So far, I'm doing the following : final class MyParser { private File csvFile = null; private static Set myObjects = Collections.synchronizedSet(new HashSet); public synchronized void setFile(File file) { this.csvFile = file; } public void parse() FileReader fr = null; try { fr = new FileReader(csvFile); synchronized(myObjects) { myObjects.clear(); while(...) { // foreach line of my CSV, create a "MyObject" myObjects.add(new MyObject(...)); } } } catch (Exception e) { //... } } } Should I leave the lock only on the myObjects Set, or should I declare the whole parse() method as synchronized ? Also, how should I synchronize - both - the setting of the csvFile and the parsing ? I feel like my actual design is broken because threads could modify the csv file several times while a possibly long parse process is running. I hope I'm being clear enough, because myself am a bit confused on those multi-synchronization issues. Thanks ;-)

• Sharepoint survey: How to identify the question fields when fetching survey information from the Lis

  I am wanting to access survey information via the Lists web service and display the questions contained in the survey. The result contains a large number of Field nodes some of which are the questions in the survey. The other fields contain other information such as author, last changed etc. How can I pick out the questions? I had thought that all non-questions would be hidden but this is not the case. Here is my code as it is at the moment. It returns about 16 items.
