• How to do server-side validation using Jqgrid?

  Hi, I'm using jqgrid to display a list of sites and I want to do some server side validation when a site is added or edited. (Form editing rather than inline. Validation needs to be server side for various reasons I won't go into.) I thought the best way would be to check the data via an ajax request when the beforeSubmit event is triggered. However this only seems to work when I'm editing an existing row in the grid - the function isn't called when I add a new row. Have I got my beforeSubmit in the wrong place? • Using IIS Application Request Routing (ARR) for ASP.NET MVC

  I use a simple ASP.NET MVC web (the template you use when you create a new site) and the web works as expected in my live environment. I now try to use IIS Application Request Routing version 2. I have a rule that send all reuqests to a different server that match a rule. The settings are a bit like this: http://blogs.iis.net/wonyoo/archive/2008/07/09/application-request-routing-arr-as-a-reverse-proxy.aspx My rule is just a bit different it is /shop(.*). Only requests that contain shop are send to a different server. I have to use rewrite, not redirect (The same as in the Picture) This works as long as the web the original requests go to is no ASP.NET MVC web. I tried to use a plain htm file in the webfolder and it worked. If put a compiled ASP.NET application into the webfolder it worked. But as soon as I put an ASP.NET MVC web into the folder, request arr served by this application. My understanding is that the ARR should kick in before the web application gets the chance to handle the request. Did anybody use ARR sucessfully as a reverse proxy for a ASP.NET MVC web? EDIT Here is the resulting web config when the rewrite roule is entered. • ASP.NET MVC DropDownList SelectedValue works on Edit action, but not Create action

  I have the following code in my controller (for Edit and Create): model.Templates = new SelectList(PageManagementService.PageTemplateFetchList(), "PageId", "Title", 213); the "213" is an Id for one of the pages - just using it for testing. And this is in my view (for Edit and Create): <%= this.Html.DropDownListFor(model => model.Page.TemplateId, this.Model.Templates)%> <%= this.Model.Templates.SelectedValue %> When I go to the Create form, I see the dropdown list, but the tag with value="213" is not selected. I even output the SelectedValue to make sure it's 213 - and I see 213. When I go to the Edit form, I see the dropdown list, and the tag with value="213" is selected. On the Create form, none of the tags have a "selected" attribute. On the Edit form, the tag with value="213" has the "selected" attribute. Am I missing something? What could be causing this? Anyone see this behavior before?

• WiX/Windows Installer: Re-install to a new folder

I am using WiX for creating installer and would like to implement the following behaviour: If a user launches msi installer for the product and the product already installed, then wizard works similar to pure (first time) installation with exception of some things (e.g. license aggrement screen is omitted). The wizard should allow for example to change installation folder, select whether to place desktop shortcut,... I tried to do: <Publish Event="ReinstallMode" Value="amus"><![CDATA[INSTALL_MODE = "Change"]]></Publish> <Publish Event="Reinstall" Value="ALL"><![CDATA[INSTALL_MODE = "Change"]]></Publish> But after installation completes: the product is in the same folder, where it was installed first time; desktop icon in the same state as it was after first time install. MSDN says: "Do not attempt to change the target directory path if some components that use the path are already installed for the current user or for a different user". Is there a way to re-install in another forlder and add/remove desktop icon in re-install? 2. Is this normal to use the same KeyPath for some components? For example the same registry values for DeskTop and Programs menu shortcuts? MSDN says: "Two components cannot share the same key path value". But compiling and verifying goes OK. And I did not discover problems using the same keypaths.

• Serializing java objects with respect to xml schema loaded at runtime

  I call an XML document three-layered if its structure is laid out as following: the root element contains some container elements (I'll call them entities), each of them has some simpleType elements inside (I'll call them properties). Something like that: <data> <spaceship> <number>1024</number> <name>KTHX</name> </spaceship> <spaceship> <number>1624</number> <name>LEXX</name> </spaceship> <knife> <length>10</length> </knife> </data> where spaceship is an entity, and number is a property. My problem is stated below: Given schema: an arbitrary xsd file describing a three-layered document, loaded at runtime. xmlDocument: an xml document conforming to the schema. Create A Map<String, Map <String, Object>> containing data from the xmlDocument, where first key corresponds to entity, second key correponds to this entity's property, and the value corresponds to this property's value, after casting it to a proper java type (for example, if the schema sets the property value to be xs:int, then it should be cast to Integer). What is the easiest way to achieve this result with existing libraries? P. S. JAXB is not really an option here. The schema might be arbitrary and unknown at compile-time. Also I wish to avoid an excessive use of reflection (associated with converting the beans to maps). I'm looking for something that would allow me to make the typecasts while xml is being parsed.

  Hi, I am updating Documents on Sharepoint using List.asmx web service. But problem i am facing is: Fields are not getting Updated as some of required fields are not added. But to fill required fields i have to again Update. "ID" field is compulsary at the time of Update. Which we get only after uploading Document.( we get this id by "ows_id" attriute value) Edit : As said by "Janis Veinbergs" We can't get this ID untill document is actualy saved. So how will i update document as ID field is must for Update. If i don't Put ID Field : Error : 0x8102000aInvalid URL Parameter The URL provided contains an invalid Command or Value. Please check the URL again. If i put Null Value to it: Error :0x81020016Item does not exist The page you selected contains an item that does not exist. It may have been deleted by another user. Is there any way to set document properties at the time of uploaidng files on Sharepoint. *Note : i am uploading file in Chunck.And Not using Microsoft.sharepoint.dll * Language : C# I tried this code But here again properties are being set after uploading file.

• Problem with cascade delete using Entity Framework and System.Data.SQLite

  I have a SQLite DB that is set up so when I delete a Person the delete is cascaded. This works fine when I manually delete a Person (all records that reference the PersonID are deleted). But when I use Entity Framework to delete the Person I get an error: System.InvalidOperationException: The operation failed: The relationship could not be changed because one or more of the foreign-key properties is non-nullable. When a change is made to a relationship, the related foreign-key property is set to a null value. If the foreign-key does not support null values, a new relationship must be defined, the foreign-key property must be assigned another non-null value, or the unrelated object must be deleted. I don't understand why this is occurring. My trigger is set to clean up all related objects before deleting the object it was told to delete. When I go into the model editor and check the properties of the relationship it shows no action for the OnDelete property. Why isn't this set correctly by pulling it from the DB? If I change this value to Cascade everything works properly, but I would rather not rely on this manual change because what if I refresh my model from the DB and it looses that. Here's the relivent SQL for my tables. • WCF Web Service Gives 404 error in Azure

  I'm new to using WCF and Azure, but I have a WCF Web Service that works correctly when debugging in Visual Studio. I set the startup project to Azure, and I get 404 errors for any URL I try related to the service.   At work, I use Gmail's chat, since it's encrypted and logs chats without installing or saving anything to the hard drive. At home, I use Pidgin. When I log into GMail at home, I have to log out of chat, or messages will end up in the wrong place. When I log into GMail at work, I have to log back in to chat. In other words, when I start Firefox at home, I want Gmail's chat disabled automatically. When I start Firefox at work, I want Gmail's chat enabled automatically. Is there a way to use a Greasemonkey script or similar to force logging in and logging out on specific machines? It would seem simple enough; just follow a URL or simulate clicking a link. Unfortunately, Gmail doesn't use actual links.   I would like to inject a Mockito mock object into a Spring (3+) bean for the purposes of unit testing with JUnit. My bean dependencies are currently injected by using the @Autowired annotation on private member fields. I have considered using ReflectionTestUtils.setField but the bean instance that I wish to inject is actually a proxy and hence does not declare the private member fields of the target class. I do not wish to create a public setter to the dependency as I will then be modifying my interface purely for the purposes of testing. I have followed some advice given by the Spring community but the mock does not get created and the auto-wiring fails: <bean id="dao" class="org.mockito.Mockito" factory-method="mock"> <constructor-arg value="com.package.Dao" /> </bean> The error I currently encounter is as follows: ... So in the .CS file, i call UpdateStyle(). The problem is, whenever I get into the selectionchanged event method, my ViewModel.SelectedItem is always null. I tried debugging this to see if the binding was working correctly, and it is. When I click on an item in the listbox, the SelectedItem Set is triggered, setting the value... but somewhere inbetween that and the selected changed (In the CS File) It gets reset to Null.   Hi there, I'm going spare trying to figure out the "correct" way to embed a ComboBox inside a Flex (3.4) DataGrid. By Rights (e.g. according to this page http://blog.flexmonkeypatches.com/2008/02/18/simple-datagrid-combobox-as-item-editor-example/) it should be easy, but I can't for the life of me make this work. The difference I have to the example linked above is that my display value (what the user sees) is different to the id value I want to select on and store in my data provider. So what I have is: <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="Type" width="200" dataField="TransactionTypeID" editorDataField="value" textAlign="center" editable="true" rendererIsEditor="true"> <mx:itemRenderer> <mx:Component> <mx:ComboBox dataProvider="{parentDocument.transactionTypesData}"/> </mx:Component> </mx:itemRenderer> </mx:DataGridColumn> Where transactionTypesData has both 'data' and 'label' fields (as per what the ComboBox - why on earth it doesn't provide both a labelField and idField I'll never know). Anyway, the above MXML code doesn't work in two ways: The combo box does not show up with any selected item. After selecting an item, it does not store back that selected item to the datastore. So, has anyone got a similar situation working?

• WiX major upgrade refuses to replace existing file!

My problem comes in replacing the database files with new versions. No, the problem is not that they are locked, I can replace them manually, and in fact now ONE of them is replaced, while the other is not. Please, please tell me what I'm doing wrong here. • SQLiteQueryBuilder.buildQuery not using selectArgs?

  Alright, I'm trying to query a sqlite database. I was trying to be good and use the query method of SQLiteDatabase and pass in the values in the selectArgs parameter to ensure everything got properly escaped, but it wouldn't work. I never got any rows returned (no errors, either). I started getting curious about the SQL that this generated so I did some more poking around and found SQLiteQueryBuilder (and apparently Stack Overflow doesn't handle links with parentheses in them well, so I can't link to the anchor for the buildQuery method), which I assume uses the same logic to generate the SQL statement. I did this: SQLiteQueryBuilder builder = new SQLiteQueryBuilder(); builder.setTables(BarcodeDb.Barcodes.TABLE_NAME); String sql = builder.buildQuery(new String[] { BarcodeDb.Barcodes.ID, BarcodeDb.Barcodes.TIMESTAMP, BarcodeDb.Barcodes.TYPE, BarcodeDb.Barcodes.VALUE }, "? = '?' • Single player 'pong' game

  I am just starting out learning pygame and livewires, and I'm trying to make a single-player pong game, where you just hit the ball, and it bounces around until it passes your paddle (located on the left side of the screen and controlled by the mouse), which makes you lose. I have the basic code, but the ball doesn't stay on the screen, it just flickers and doesn't remain constant. Also, the paddle does not move with the mouse. I'm sure I'm missing something simple, but I just can't figure it out. Help please! • JSF 2/Primefaces p:ajax not updating panel after onchange event is fired

  I am really stuck with this for the last 2 days and am struggling to understand how Primefaces updates UI components on the client based on their ID. I have a h:selectOneMenu with a count for the number of panels to be displayed. Each p:panel will contain a panelGrid with numerous form elements. The onchange event on the drop down is fired and I can see the count in the Managed Bean. • Crystal Reports Images not loading in ASP.NET MVC

  I'm using Crystal Reports in a Webform inside of an MVC application. Images in the reports are not being displayed, however, on both the ASP.NET Development Server and IIS 7 (on Win7x64). I know from a number of other questions similar to this that the CrystalImageHandler HTTP Handler is responsible for rendering the image, but I've tried all of the usual solutions to no avail.   Hi I have this matrix A, representing similarities of pixel intensities of an image. For example: Consider a 10 x 10 image. Matrix A in this case would be of dimension 100 x 100, and element A(i,j) would have a value in the range 0 to 1, representing the similarity of pixel i to j in terms of intensity. I am using OpenCV for image processing and the development environment is C on Linux.   Hi, I would like to use autocompletebox with a list of values, but also add new values to the list if a user enters one that isn't present. I currently have a string property in my view model called 'Comment'. Currently this is bound to a textbox in the view - user types a comment and the view model is updated. Simple. To save time, my customer would like it to autocomplete from previous values, so the way I thought to do this is something like: ViewModel public string Comment; public ObservableCollection<string> CommentsList { ... } (populate the CommentsList when the viewmodel is created) View <AutoCompleteComboBox ItemsSource="{Binding CommentsList}" SelectedItem="{Binding Comment, Mode=TwoWay/> So when the user selects a value, it saves the value in the Comment property. This works fine if the user selects an item in the list, but if the user types in a new value, the comment property is not updated (it is null because the selected item was not in the list). The questions are as follows: Is there a serious processing overhead if I were to include these items in EVERY page (like in the Site.Master for example) thus negating the need for the HtmlHelper to organise the "includes" - considering there would end up being about 20 includes for all the different types of jQuery UI widgets used throughout the site. If the HtmlHelper sorts out the "includes", it will add one every time this DatePicker is used (often there are two on a page) Does anyone have a way of determining whether or not the user has already rendered the same type of control on the page, thus not re-including the same jquery libraries when multiple instances of the DatePicker (for example) are used?
