Hi, I am trying to install skype-ubuntu-intrepid_2.1.0.91-1.i386.deb on ubuntu 8.04: But in the Package installer, I get 'Error Dependency is not satisfiable: libascound2'. And I have tried. $ sudo apt-get install libasound2 [sudo] password for novarra: Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done libasound2 is already the newest version. The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required: linux-headers-2.6.24-24-generic libdns35 linux-headers-2.6.24-24 Use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove them. I appreciate if anyone can help me with it.

Opening an oracle database crashes the service

I am experiencing a weird issue with Oracle where the service started fine after a crash. The database mount went fine as well. However, when I issue alter database open; command, the database does not open, gives a generic cannot connect to the database error & crashes the service. Oracle support has not seen this issue before so it's pretty scary. The fact that there are no logs that give any leads as to what could be causing this is also scary. I was wondering if good folks over at Server Fault had seen something like this or have some insights on things that I could try. It's Oracle 10g running on Windows Server 2003. Thanks, Ashish

Can Castle.Windsor do automatic resolution of concrete types

We are evaluating IoC containers for C# projects, and both Unity and Castle.Windsor are standing out. One thing that I like about Unity (NInject and StructureMap also do this) is that types where it is obvious how to construct them do not have to be registered with the IoC Container. Is there way to do this in Castle.Windsor? Am I being fair to Castle.Windsor to say that it does not do this? Is there a design reason to deliberately not do this, or is it an oversight, or just not seen as important or useful? I am aware of container.Register(AllTypes... in Windsor but that's not quite the same thing. It's not entirely automatic, and it's very broad. To illustrate the point, here are two NUnit tests doing the same thing via Unity and Castle.Windsor. Getting a "No default module defined for this application" exception while running controller unit t

I have an application with the default directory structure, for an application without custom modules (see structure figure at the end). I have written a ControllerTestCase.php file as instructed in many tutorials, and I've created the appropriate bootstrap file as well (once again, see figures at the end). I've written some model tests which run just fine, but when I started writing the index controller test file, with only one test in it, with only one line in it ("$this-dispatch('/');"), I'm getting the following exception when running phpunit (but navigating with the browser to the same location - all is good and working): 1) IndexControllerTest::test_indexAction_noParams Zend_Controller_Exception: No default module defined for this application Why is this ? What have I done wrong ? JConsole does not connect when a program is waiting for a console input

Hi, I have a problem similar to the one mentioned here. I have a program which launches a selenium browser and refreshes it every 2 seconds. My idea here was to monitor the memory usage of my application as the page is being hit. This console program does a "System.in.read" and when a user presses enter key, this stops the browser refresh thread. I run the program and it runs as I would expect it to. But when I fire jconsole and attach it to the process, it looks like jconsole waits forever to attach. This is because of the "System.in.read", apparently as shown in the JConsole source. In my code it makes perfect sense for me to terminte the browser when user presses something so is there any alternative available at all ? cakephp Activation Email Sending slow

Hi all, I have a simple email sender for user account activation. Depending on which email address I use, I get significantly different response times: University email - 1 minute, Gmail - 3-4 hours, Yahoo - 1 or 2 days -- which seems bizarre. Has anyone else seen this phenomenon? EDIT: There weren't many responses (even for a bounty), but I'll try to explain my problem more clearly. Automatic web form testing/filling

I recently became lead on getting an inordinate amount of testing done in a very short period of time. We have many different web forms, using custom (Telerik) controls that need to be tested for proper data validation and sensible handling of the data. Some of the forms are several pages long with 30-80 different controls for data entry. I am looking for a software solution (that is free) that would allow me to automate the process of filling in these forms by designing a script, or using a UI. The other requirement is that I can't use any browsers but IE6 (terrible, I know). I have previously used AutoHotkey to great success for automatic Windows form testing, since Autohotkey's API allows you to directly reference controls on the Windows form. However Autohotkey does not have similar support for web forms (everything is just one big "InternetExplorer" control). While I would prefer that I could script some variance in the data to help serialize each test, it's not necessary, as I could go back through and manually edit a field or two (plus "break" whatever control I'm currently testing) to serialize each test. If you've ever seen Spawner: http://forge.mysql.com/projects/project.php?id=214 It's almost exactly the sort of thing I'm looking for (Spawner generates dummy SQL data, as opposed to dummy webform data) - but I won't be picky, I've got a really short deadline to meet and had this thrust in my lap just today. ;) Edit1: One of the challenges of just using Autohotkey to simulate keyboard input (tabbing through controls) is that some controls don't currently have tab index (bug), and some controls cause a page reload after modification, resulting in inconsistent control focus (tabbing screwed up). Our application makes heavy use of page reloads to populate fields (select a location, it auto-populates a city, for example).

PHP gettext on Windows

There's some tutorials out there for gettext (w/ Poedit)... unfortunately, it's mostly for a UNIX environment. And even more unfortunate is that I am running my WAMP server on Windows XP (but I am developing for a UNIX environment) and none of the tutorials can get gettext working properly for me. From the man page (http://us3.php.net/manual/en/book.gettext.php), it appears that it's a different process on a Windows environment. I've tried out some of the solutions in the comments but I still can't get it to work! Please, I've spent many hours on this, hopefully someone can point me in the right direction to get this thing to work! (and I'm sure there are others out there who share my frustration). So far with my setup, I'm only getting output "Hello World!" whereas I should be getting the translated string. I am trying to create JSF 2 pages. When I create pages using facelets template I get message on top that "The project is not configured for Facelets yet. You need to add a Facelets runtime to the project's classpath". PHP: Echo function output in function-line, not line of function call

I have a problem with my self-coded template system. The content is inserted by Include(). Now I need to add a meta redirect to one page. I know, meta redirect is not the safest way, but I need it because of it's delay possibility. Now i'm looking for a way to influence the wrapping page (template) by the wrapped page (content). Is there a way to make the function echo in the line of the function itself? In this case above the horizontal rule, not below? Why can't I Bind a viewmodel property to a dependency property of a custom control

I want to use a color picker in my wpf application and I saw a nice looking one on this codeproject page. The control works fine until I want to connect the control to a viewmodel. The CurrentControl property of the ColorPickerControlView seems to be fine. The constructor looks like this: public ColorPickerControlView() { this.DataContext = this; InitializeComponent(); CommandBindings.Add(new CommandBinding(SelectColorCommand, SelectColorCommandExecute)); } In the constructor of the UserControl there is the line this.DataContext = this; I read that is is necessary to bind the dependency properties. Do I override this line when I set my viewmodel to the datacontext and is that why I can't bind to the CurrentColor property? Is there any workaround? Or did I make another mistake?

Apache mod_rewrite RewriteCond to by-pass static resources not working

I can't for the life of me fathom out why this RewriteCond is causing every request to be sent to my FastCGI application when it should in fact be letting Apache serve up the static resources. I've added a hello.txt file to my DocumentRoot to demonstrate. The text file: ls /Sites/CioccolataTest.webapp/Contents/Resources/static hello.txt` The VirtualHost and it's rewrite rules: AppClass /Sites/CioccolataTest.webapp/Contents/MacOS/CioccolataTest -port 5065 FastCgiExternalServer /Sites/CioccolataTest.webapp/Contents/MacOS/CioccolataTest.fcgi -host 127.0.0.1:5065 <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName cioccolata-test.webdev DocumentRoot /Sites/CioccolataTest.webapp/Contents/Resources/static RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule ^/(.*)$ /Sites/CioccolataTest.webapp/Contents/MacOS/CioccolataTest.fcgi/$1 [QSA,L] </VirtualHost> Even with the -f, Apache is directing requests for this text file (i.e. access http://cioccolata-test.webdev/hello.txt returns my app, not the text file). As a proof of concept I changed the RewriteCond to: RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/hello.txt That made it serve the text file correctly and allowed every other request to hit the FastCGI application. Why doesn't my original version work? I need to tell apache to serve every file in the DocumentRoot as a static resource, but if the file doesn't exist it should rewrite the request to my FastCGI application. NOTE: The running FastCGI application is at /Sites/CioccolataTest.webapp/Contents/MacOS/CioccolataTest (without the .fcgi prefix)... the .fcgi prefix is only being used to tell the fastcgi module to direct the request to the app.

How to visualize a list of lists of lists of ... in R?

Hi there, I have a very deep list of lists in R. Now I want to print this list to the standard output to get a better overview of the elements. It should look like the way the StatET plugin for eclipse shows a list. Example list: l6 = list() l6[["h"]] = "one entry" l6[["g"]] = "nice" l5 = list() l5[["e"]] = l6 l4 = list() l4[["f"]] = "test" l4[["d"]] = l5 l3 = list() l3[["c"]] = l4 l2 = list() l2[["b"]] = l3 l1 = list() l1[["a"]] = l2 This should print like: List of 1 $ a:List of 1 ..$ b:List of 1 .. ..$ c:List of 2 .. .. ..$ f: chr "test" .. .. ..$ d:List of 1 .. .. .. ..$ e:List of 2 .. .. .. .. ..$ h: chr "one entry" .. .. .. .. ..$ g: chr "nice" I know this is possible with recursion and the deepness. Unmount Mass Storage USB Device from the Command Line in Linux

I've searched high and low, and can't figure this one out. I have a older Olympus Camera (2001 or so). When I plug in the USB connection, I get the following log output: $ dmesg | grep sd [20047.625076] sd 21:0:0:0: Attached scsi generic sg7 type 0 [20047.627922] sd 21:0:0:0: [sdg] Attached SCSI removable disk Secondly, the drive is not mounted in the FS, but when I run gphoto2 I get the following error: $ gphoto2 --list-config *** Error *** An error occurred in the io-library ('Could not lock the device'): Camera is already in use. *** Error (-60: 'Could not lock the device') *** What command will unmount the drive. For example in Nautilus, I can right click and select "Safely Remove Device". After doing that, the /dev/sg7 and /dev/sdg devices are removed. Some things I've tried already are sdparm and sg3_utils, however I am unfamiliar with them, so it's possible I just didn't find the right command.

Can somebody help me install this jBPM based workflow management suite?

1.Its a book Workflow Interface software available at sourceforge http://bookworkflowint.sourceforge.net/ Any instructions on installing and configuring it would be great especially in windows, however I can try Linux specific ones as well. I could not find any installation instructions. I posted this in stackoverflow by mistake and was directed here. 2.Can you guys suggest any good scanning/digitization workflow software (document imaging) that I can adopt to my scanner software? Infact even a simple one would do may be based on hotfolders. I just want to be able to track the uniqueid/barcode of the scanned book, its status so that its not scanned again. It books or manuscripts could be in millions page count. I thought of using some kind of generic bug tracking tool, just track a few fields, dont know if its the right choice Thank you very much

PHPUnit - multiple stubs of same class

I'm building unit tests for class Foo, and I'm fairly new to unit testing. A key component of my class is an instance of BarCollection which contains a number of Bar objects. One method in Foo iterates through the collection and calls a couple methods on each Bar object in the collection. I want to use stub objects to generate a series of responses for my test class. How do I make the Bar stub class return different values as I iterate? I'm trying to do something along these lines: $stubs = array(); foreach ($array as $value) { $barStub->expects($this->any()) ->method('GetValue')) ->will($this->returnValue($value)); $stubs[] = $barStub; } // populate stubs into `Foo` // assert results from `Foo->someMethod()` So Foo->someMethod() will produce data based on the results it receives from the Bar objects. But this gives me the following error whenever the array is longer than one: There was 1 failure: 1) testMyTest(FooTest) with data set #2 (array(0.5, 0.5)) Expectation failed for method name is equal to <string:GetValue> when invoked zero or more times. Mocked method does not exist. /usr/share/php/PHPUnit/Framework/MockObject/Mock.php(193) : eval()'d code:25 One thought I had was to use ->will($this->returnCallback()) to invoke a callback method, but I don't know how to indicate to the callback which Bar object is making the call (and consequently what response to give). Another idea is to use the onConsecutiveCalls() method, or something like it, to tell my stub to return 1 the first time, 2 the second time, etc, but I'm not sure exactly how to do this. I'm also concerned that if my class ever does anything other than ordered iteration on the collection, I won't have a way to test it.
