And last question, do you have a .m3u8 sample file with remote mp4 file to test ? Thanks a lot for your help. Thierry

  • Sorting a multidimensional array in objective-c

    - by Zen_silence
Hello, I'm trying to sort a multidimensional array in objective-c i know that i can sort a single dimensional array using the line of code below: NSArray *sortedArray = [someArray sortedArrayUsingSelector:@selector(caseInsensitiveCompare:)]; I can't seem to figure out how to sort a 2D array like the one below: ( ("SOME_URL", "SOME_STORY_TITLE", "SOME_CATEGORY"), ("SOME_URL", "SOME_STORY_TITLE", "SOME_CATEGORY"), ("SOME_URL", "SOME_STORY_TITLE", "SOME_CATEGORY") ); If someone could provide me code that would sort the array by SOME_CATEGORY it would be of great help to me. Thanks, Zen_Silence

  • UISplitViewController and complex view heirarchy

    - by Jasconius
I'm doing an iPad tech demo and I'm running into a serious technical problem. I have an app concept that leverages UISplitViewController, but NOT as the primary controller for the entire app. The app flow could be described roughly as this: Home screen (UIViewController) List-Detail "Catalog" (UISplitViewController) Super Detail Screen (UIViewController but could conceivable also be a child of SplitView). The problem is in the flow between Home and Catalog. Once a UISplitViewController view is added to the UIWindow, it starts to throw hissy fits. The problem can be summarized at this: When a UISplitView generates a popover view, it appears to then be latched to its parent view. Upon removing the UISplitView from the UIWindow subviews, you will get a CoreGraphics exception and the view will fail to be removed. When adding other views (presumably in this case, the home screen to which you are returning), they do not autorotate, instead, the UISplitView, which has failed to be removed due to a CG exception, continues to respond to the rotation instead, causing horrible rendering bugs that can't be just "dealt with". At this point, adding any views, even re-adding the SplitView, causes a cascade of render bugs. I then tried simply to leave the SplitView ever present as the "bottom" view, and keeping adding and removing the Home Screen from on top of it, but this fails as SplitView dominates the Orientation change calls, and Home Screen will not rotate, even if you call [homeScreen becomeFirstResponder] You can't put SplitView into a hierarchy like UINavigationController, you will get an outright runtime error, so that option is off the table. Modals just look bad and are discourages anyway. My presumption at this moment is that the only proper way to deal with this problem is so somehow "disarm" UISplitViewController so that it can be removed from its parent view without throwing an unhandled exception, but I have no idea how. If you want to see an app that does exactly what I need to do, check out GILT Groupe in the iPad app store. They pulled it off, but they seem to have programmed an entire custom view transition set. Help would be greatly appreciated.

  • How to show button ‘Done’ on number pad on iPhone OS 4?

    - by Will Harris
I'd like to add a Done button to the iPhone number pad keyboard. There's even a handy space at the bottom left for just such a button. Previously, I was using a similar trick to those described in Question 584538 and Luzian Scherrer's excellent blog post, but that stopped working in iOS 4. I can do it by creating a custom inputView, but I'd prefer to extend Apple's keyboard instead of writing my own. Is there a new way to add a view to the standard keyboard? Has someone published an OSS inputView for this? Is there another way?

  • Resizing an image with stretchableImageWithLeftCapWidth

    - by Stephan Burlot
I'm trying to resize an image using stretchableImageWithLeftCapWidth: it works on the simulator, but on the device, vertical green bars appears. I've tried to use imageNamed, imageWithContentOfFile and imageWithData lo load the image, it doesnt change. UIImage *bottomImage = [[UIImage imageWithData: [NSData dataWithContentsOfFile: [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@/bottom_part.png", [[NSBundle mainBundle] resourcePath]]]] stretchableImageWithLeftCapWidth:27 topCapHeight:9]; UIImageView *bottomView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(10, 200+73, 100, 73)]; [self.view addSubview:bottomView]; UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(CGSizeMake(100, 73)); [bottomImage drawInRect:CGRectMake(0, 0, 100, 73)]; UIImage *bottomResizedImage = UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext(); UIGraphicsEndImageContext(); bottomView.image = bottomResizedImage; See the result: the green bars shouldn't be there, they dont appear on the simulator.

  • overridden three20 TTDefaultStyleSheet style not working

    - by funkadelic
hi, i recently got three20 integrated into my app and am trying to override the default toolbar color in TTWebController. In TTWebController.m:118 I see that this is setting the toolbar's tintColor: _toolbar.tintColor = TTSTYLEVAR(toolbarTintColor); So I created my own stylesheet that subclasses TTDefaultStyleSheet and overrides toolbarTintColor FooStyleSheet.h: #import <Three20Style/Three20Style.h> #import <Three20Style/TTStyleSheet.h> #import <Three20Style/TTDefaultStyleSheet.h> @interface FooStyleSheet : TTDefaultStyleSheet @property (nonatomic, readonly) UIColor* toolbarTintColor; @end FooStyleSheet.m: #import "FooStyleSheet.h" @implementation RaptrStyleSheet - (UIColor*)toolbarTintColor { return RGBCOLOR(0, 0, 0); // should override TTDefaultStyleSheet } @end and in my application:didFinishLaunchingWithOptions: i set my default stylesheet [TTStyleSheet setGlobalStyleSheet:[[[FooStyleSheet alloc] init] autorelease]]; but when I view the TTWebController, it doesn't inherit my tintColor. If I edit TTDefaultStyleSheet.m directly: - (UIColor*)toolbarTintColor { return [UIColor blackColor]; } it works as expected. Is there something I am overlooking that is preventing my style to be picked up? thanks, -norm

  • Display iphone application settings within your application

    - by Dougnukem
The iphone supports a means of defining your application's settings such that it will automatically create a UI in the Settings app. I want to also allow the user to edit the application settings within the application but it'd be nice to reuse the same UI that is automatically created. See: Application Settings Is there a way to have your application display the settings using the same UI that the Settings application does?

  • How to implement a UINavigationController to a standard UIView

    - by tarnfeld
This is the structure of my application currently: UIWindow UIViewController (Root View Controller) UINavigationController UITableView UIViewController (PresentModalViewControllerAnimated:YES) UITableView This is how I want it to be: UIWindow UIViewController (Root View Controller) UINavigationController UITableView UIViewController (PresentModalViewControllerAnimated:YES) UINavigationController UITableView I have a view that slides up and I want that view to have its own UINavigationController. It's for the app settings so I want to have nested options. Any ideas how to do this? The application type was a Navigation app to start with which is where the Root View Controller's UINavigationController came from.

  • Change UIImageView Center - iPhone

    - by CccTrash
I am trying to make a little ball that rolls around based on the accelerometer values in the iPhone. This code will not build: -(void)accelerometer:(UIAccelerometer *)accelerometer didAccelerate:(UIAcceleration *)acceleration { if(difficulty == @"easy") { CGFloat newX = (CGFloat)(ball.center.x + (CGFloat)acceleration.x); CGFloat newY = (CGFloat)(ball.center.y + (CGFloat)acceleration.y); ball.center.x = newX; ball.center.y = newY; } } It gives me an lvalue required as left operand of assignment error. I've tried 100 different things and I fail every time...This is just the latest failure. Anyone have any insight?

  • dismissModalViewControllerAnimated makes my app crash :(

    - by Koning Baard XIV
I'm creating an iPad app, and I have two classes: NWRootViewController : UITableViewController and UINewFeedViewController : UIViewController. In NWRootViewController I have an UIBarButtonItem, which, when tapped, pops up a modal view controller called NWNewFeedViewController: // THIS CODE IS IN NWROOTVIEWCONTROLLER.M // New Feed -(IBAction)showNewFeedViewAction:(id)sender { [newFeedViewController setModalPresentationStyle:UIModalPresentationFormSheet]; [self presentModalViewController:newFeedViewController animated:YES]; } This works fine. However, in the NWNewFeedViewController's view, I have another UIBarButtonItem which does this when tapped: // THIS CODE IS IN NWNEWFEEDCONTROLLER.M // Buttons -(IBAction)cancelAction:(id)sender { [self dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:YES]; } When I tap this button, the app crashes with: 2010-04-10 12:39:46.703 News[580:207] *** -[NWDetailViewController cancelAction:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x4741110 2010-04-10 12:39:46.705 News[580:207] *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '*** -[NWDetailViewController cancelAction:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x4741110' 2010-04-10 12:39:46.705 News[580:207] Stack: ( 40878667, 2458187017, 41150267, 40613142, 40609810, 2776006, 4876265, 2776006, 3246293, 3255055, 3250242, 2899304, 2793965, 2825287, 49238396, 40419388, 40415304, 49232029, 49232226, 2817505 ) Can anyone help me? • Initial selected Item in an UITabBar without a UITabBarController

    - by juan.xavier
Hello, How do I set the default selected UITabBarItem in an UITabBar that is within an UIView, not an UITabBarController? Just to clarify, the UIView does implement the protocol and the didSelectItem method works. At run-time, the tabbar works and the tabbaritems selected when the user touches them. My problem is setting the default selected item. If i use [myTabbar setSelectedItem] within the didSelectItem method it works. But outside of it, it doesn't (for example, in the viewDidLoad method of my UIView). Thanks!

  • How do I zoom an MKMapView to the users current location without CLLocationManager?

    - by Danny Tuppeny
With the MKMapView there's an option called "Show users current location" which will automatically show a users location on the map. I'd like to zoom into this location without adding a CLLocationManager (this seems silly if the map is already taking care of this). The problem is, I can't find a nice event that fires when the map has figured out the users location, so I don't know where to put the code that will zoom/scroll. I tried using the viewForAnnotation method like this: - (MKAnnotationView *) mapView:(MKMapView *)map viewForAnnotation:(id <MKAnnotation>)annotation { if ([annotation class] == [MKUserLocation class] ) { NSLog(@"UserLocation annotation"); return [map viewForAnnotation:annotation]; } return nil; } However it doesn't fire if the users location is off the screen. Is there a way to be notified when an MKMapView has got the user location so I can zoom in to it, or do I just have to add a CLLocationManager for this?

  • Strings in Objective-C++

    - by John Smith
I just switched my code from Objective-C to Objective-C++. Everything goes swimmingly except for two lines. NSString * text1=[[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%.2f",ymax] UTF8String]; This line complains that error: cannot convert 'const char*' to 'NSString*' in initialization The second error related to the first is from the line: CGContextShowTextAtPoint(context, 2, 8, text1, strlen(text1)); It complains that error: cannot convert 'NSString*' to 'const char*' for argument '1' to 'size_t strlen(const char*)' Is there something I missed in the differences between ObjC and ObjC++?

  • Code Sign error: The identity 'iPhone Developer: x Xxxxx' doesn't match any identity in any profile

    - by Cal
I get this build error when I build my iPhone project to run on my device: Code Sign error: The identity 'iPhone Developer: x Xxxxx' doesn't match any identity in any profile My development code signing certificate expired so I got a new one. On my first attempt I created a new CSR and got the message above. The second time I reused my original CSR and got the same result. Another strange thing is the new certificate has an extra string with brackets after my name in the "common name" when I look at it using Keychain Access like this: iPhone Developer: x Xxxxx (3BDUAJYC9Q) My original certificate didn't have that. I have Xcode Version 3.1.3 Component versions Xcode IDE: 1191.0 Xcode Core: 1192.0 ToolSupport: 1186.0 Does anyone know how to solve this?

  • UITextView autoscroll to last line

    - by MihaiD
Hi *, When writing in a UITextView more text than can fit entirely inside it, the text will scroll up and the cursor will often place itself one or two lines above the view's bottom line. This is a bit frustrating as I want my application to make good use of the entire height of the text view. Basically what I want is to configure the UITextView to write up to it's lowest part and not use it just for scrolling. I've seen some similar questions here, here and here. However I've not seen a proper solution yet. Thanks

  • MPMoviePlayerController on large videos causes massive memory spike, and a level 1 memory warning

    - by Shizam
When viewing images my application hums along nicely with low memory consumption, once I try to watch a video using MPMoviePlayerController memory usage spikes way up, dwarfing the previous memory graph and if I play the video it causes a 'memory warning. Level=1' message. The video files (mp4) aren't even that big, 40MB or so, and it doesn't matter if I play the file streamed from a URL or loaded from a local file, actually the memory spike is even worse if I try to stream it. Here is the code I use to create the player: if (_photo.videoPath != nil) { _movieViewController=[[MPMoviePlayerViewController alloc] initWithContentURL:[NSURL fileURLWithPath:_photo.videoPath]]; } else { _movieViewController=[[MPMoviePlayerViewController alloc] initWithContentURL:[NSURL URLWithString:_photo.videoURL]]; } [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver:self selector:@selector(videoMetaListener:) name:MPMovieDurationAvailableNotification object:_movieViewController.moviePlayer]; _movieViewController.moviePlayer.scalingMode=MPMovieScalingModeAspectFit; _movieViewController.moviePlayer.shouldAutoplay = YES; _movieViewController.moviePlayer.controlStyle = MPMovieControlStyleEmbedded; Anybody else running into issues playing video? Also I checked for leaks, there are none reported.
