  • What kind of events should be created for a CRUD application?

    I have an application that is centered around a database (ORM is LINQ-SQL) that has a table called Assignment. I am using the repository pattern to manipulate the database. My application is basically going to perform CRUD operations. I am new to delegates and events and I am asking you what events I should create (like maybe AssignmentCreating, AssignmentCreated) and what kind of delegate to use (like maybe a custom delegate or just an EventHandler)?

  • Browsing PDF in a web page without using Flash

    I Have an N-Pages PDF linked in a my web page. I want to be able to browse the PDF, with next and prev arrows, page numbers, etc etc I want to be able to browse the PDF without using any Flash Plugin. I also want to normalize the browsing behaviour, so i don't want to use the default PDF plugin of the browser. I'm looking for a JS plugin but i don't find interesting solutions. Any other suggestions ? Thanks

  • SharePoint 2010: WebPartZone not rendered when i'm not signed in

    Hi all! I have a custom WebPart on my welcome page in SharePoint 2010. When I open the page without signing on, the whole WebPartZone remains unrendered (according to the responded html). When signed in, my WebPart works perfectly. Afaik, my WebPart does not require any special permission, it just pulls content from some lists on the same SharePoint site. Any ideas? thx, M

How do I do this? I think it requires adding code to the 'Layout Update XML' section but I'm not sure what exactly.

But when I started to work on Arabic and Hebrew languages, I noticed all pages messed up after dir="rtl" to html tag (according to instructions on http://www.w3.org/International/tutorials/bidi-xhtml/) Does that mean I need separate stylesheets for right-to-left languages?

    Hi, I;ve been trying to create a custom button in android using this tutorial - http://www.gersic.com/blog.php?id=56 It works well but it doesn't say how to change the font size or weighting. Any ideas? There was another question on here and the only answer was to use html styling but you can't change a font size in html without using css (or the deprecated font tag). There must be a better way of setting the pixel size of the font used on buttons?

    I need to parse a command line like script.rb <mandatory filename> [options] with optparse. Sure I can write some custom code to handle the filename, then pass ARGV to optparse, but maybe there's a simpler way to do it? EDIT: there's another hacky way to parse such a command line, and that is pass '--mandatory-filename ' + ARGV to optparse, then handle the --mandatory-filename option.

    Is it possible to get the page size (from e.g. a PDF document page) using GhostScript? I have seen the "bbox" device, but it returns the bounding box (it differs per page), not the TrimBox (or CropBox) of the PDF pages.     I'm having a nightmare uploading my site to the production server. The site runs fine locally and on a staging server (exactly the same server, settings as the production site). However when I deploy to production I'm getting a 404 error from CI. CodeIgniters 404 error pages are frustrating because it seems as if i can't access other libraries from them. How can I go about debugging the error? See which controller is trying to be called etc.

    Hi When using the minimal site definition for moss from codeplex (http://www.codeplex.com/features), after adding the features required for workflow, workflow approval becomes available for the pages library. When I submit a page for approval, the buttons for approve and reject do not appear on the page editing toolbar. I can go and view the workflow approval and approve/reject it but the normal buttons on the page editing toolbar do not appear. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

I see my current options as: Using a class that someone else has written and tested Inheriting from BindingList, and implementing the IBindingListView interfaces Write a custom collection from scratch, implementing IBindingListView and IBindingList.
