  • Conditional Formatting of a Cell Based on Color Value in that Cell in Excel

    Is is possible to format a cell based on one component of the RGB value inside of it. For example, let's say I have 3 cells - A1, A2, A3. In A1, I want the cell color to be the shade of red anywhere between 0 and 255 of the number in the cell (so if it is 128, it should be like half red). For that given cell, the other values will just be 0, 0 (so in this case, zero green and zero blue). Is this possible?

  • File and Printer Sharing Port issue in Windows 7 64 bit

    So, This is totally weird and I could not find any way to fix it. In simple words after the diagnosis this what is happening. On a windows 7 64 bit box, Whenever I am trying to access a server using file share. It is trying to connect to port 80 http on the place of 445. I observed that using WireShark. Telnet to 445 works. Any clue how to fix this. Scanned the machine using Malware bytes, Symantec and MS live essentials . I dont want to recreate the whole machine again. Please help me here. Regards Mohit Thakral

  • Windows: Making Windows Explorer distinctive (changing background color or file/folder icons) for specific folder

    Is there a way to change the background color in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 when the current folder being displayed meets a certain condition? Or is there a way I can change the icons of the files and folders within that folder so it's distinctive--similar to how Tortoise SVN does it for code checked out from a repository? Why? I'd like to do this for a deployment directory on a live server so users don't accidentally commit code to a certain environment. Like myself. :-)

  • Cancelling Route Navigation in AngularJS Controllers

Also check out The AngularJS Magazine for up-to-date information on using AngularJS to build Single Page Applications (SPAs). Routing provides a nice way to associate views with controllers in AngularJS using a minimal amount of code. While a user is normally able to navigate directly to a specific route, there may be times when a user triggers a route change before they’ve finalized an important action such as saving data. In these types of situations you may want to cancel the route navigation and ask the user if they’d like to finish what they were doing so that their data isn’t lost. In this post I’ll talk about a technique that can be used to accomplish this type of routing task.   The $locationChangeStart Event When route navigation occurs in an AngularJS application a few events are raised. One is named $locationChangeStart and the other is named $routeChangeStart (there are other events as well). At the current time (version 1.2) the $routeChangeStart doesn’t provide a way to cancel route navigation, however, the $locationChangeStart event can be used to cancel navigation. This call broadcasts the $locationChangeStart event to all child scopes so that they can be notified before a location change is made. To handle the $locationChangeStart event you can use the $rootScope.on() function. For this example I’ve added a call to $on() into a function that is called immediately after the controller is invoked:   function init() { //initialize data here.. //Make sure they're warned if they made a change but didn't save it //Call to $on returns a "deregistration" function that can be called to //remove the listener (see routeChange() for an example of using it) onRouteChangeOff = $rootScope.$on('$locationChangeStart', routeChange); } This code listens for the $locationChangeStart event and calls routeChange() when it occurs. The value returned from calling $on is a “deregistration” function that can be called to detach from the event. In this case the deregistration function is named onRouteChangeOff (it’s accessible throughout the controller). The event object is used to prevent navigation since we need to prompt the user before leaving the current view. Notice the call to event.preventDefault() at the end of the function. The modal dialog is shown by calling modalService.showModal() (see my previous post for more information about the custom modalService that acts as a wrapper around Angular UI Bootstrap’s $modal service). If the user selects “Ignore Changes” then their changes will be discarded and the application will navigate to the route they intended to go to originally. This is done by first detaching from the $locationChangeStart event by calling onRouteChangeOff() (recall that this is the function returned from the call to $on()) so that we don’t get stuck in a never ending cycle where the dialog continues to display when they click the “Ignore Changes” button. A call is then made to $location.path(newUrl) to handle navigating to the target view. If the user cancels the operation they’ll stay on the current view. Conclusion The key to canceling routes is understanding how to work with the $locationChangeStart event and cancelling it so that route navigation doesn’t occur. I’m hoping that in the future the same type of task can be done using the $routeChangeStart event but for now this code gets the job done.   • Notepad++: Adding color highlighting for PHP functions?

    I've recently begun using Notepad++, and have found a part of its styling functionality that confuses me. I'm currently attempting to color all of PHP's defined functions (such as count(), strlen(), etc.). In the Settings-Style Configurator, you cannot add a new style for such a function list. Instead, I have begun editing the stylers.xml and langs.xml. To add the new coloring, in langs.xml, I've modified the php section to the following: <Language name="php" ext="php php3 phtml" commentLine="//" commentStart="/*" commentEnd="*/"> <Keywords name="instre1">[default keywords]</Keywords> <Keywords name="instre2">[my function list]</Keywords> </Language> The [default keywords] and [my function list] are replaced with wordlists. I can change the style's color, and can see the entire keyword list under 'Default Keywords'. However, it is not changing the coloring of the words in my code. When I edit the WORD style, which contains stuff like 'if', 'and', and 'true', things change accordingly in my code. Any ideas on how to make this work?

  • Shortcut to "printer and faxes" on another computer

    I have a print server running windows server 2008 that has about 50 printers on it. In windows XP, I was able to connect to the server using the UNC name and make a shortcut to the "printers and faxes" folder. (For the record, I know that it really isn't a folder, but that's outside the scope of this question.) I have recently switched to windows 7 and I find that the jump lists are really useful. One of the things I want to do is make it easy to connect to that server's "printers and faxes" folder. I would like to use something like a shortcut that I can open and go immediately to that location. The problem is that windows 7 doesn't have a way to create a shortcut like you could in WinXP. They have a button on the toolbar that says "view remote printers" which sends you to the correct folder. I'd like to avoid having to type out the server name. I also can't use the "view network" link in windows explorer. Our organization has over 6,000 machines and viewing the network lists all of them. This is all about saving time by using the minimum number of mouse clicks and key presses in normal operation. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • What advantage does a 2400x600 dpi printer have over a 1200x1200 dpi printer?

    I've seen laser printers with a resolutions of 1200x1200 dpi and, strangely, 2400x600 dpi. As the measure is dots per inch, not Kdots on a page or something (where a higher vertical resolution might make sense because paper is rectangular, not square), I'm wondering what the uneven resolution is good for. Why print one square inch with 2400 dots vertically but only 600 horizontally? Does this look more detailed than 1200 by 1200 dots? Or is it better for textile printing or some other special case?

    I just set up my new remote office network the problem is i cannot access shared folders to the home office (without turning on the vpn) I control the servers remotely but would really like to access ports 139 and 445. The problem is that they are open on the server side but it appears as though the packets are being dropped before they get get to the server... any way i can tell where the packet is being dropped?

    Hey guys. So after a prolonged period, (overnight) i lose the ability to initiate a scan directly from the unit. I'll initiate a job and after awhile, it times out and beeps. However, when i go to the PC and initiate a scan from there, the scan job goes through just fine, and i can then initiate scans directly from the unit all day. Until a prolonged period (overnight). Then i have to do the process again. Ive made sure all powersave settings were off.. The PC doesnt go to sleep or a powersave state. Any insight into this will be appreciated.     This concerns iPhoneOS-sdk-3.2 I am having difficulty changing the border color of a grouped UITableView. I can change the cell background color, separator color, text color, quite easily now, and the rounded corners clip correctly, even when highlighted with whatever colors I have chosen. However the surrounding border remains infuriatingly gray despite many different attempts. I have read all of the related posts I can find via Google, let alone stackoverflow. I have tried both a programmatic and xib-based solution and both provide the same results.   • Changing UITableViewCell textLabel background color to clear

    In my app i have a table view with customViewCells. i subclassed the UITableViewCell class and added an image that will load async and for the text i use cell.textLabel.text = @"someThext". for the cells the background color is set alternatively to [UIColor darkGrayColor] and whitecolor. When i run the app in the simulator and on the pone the textLabel of the cell has the background white. I want to set it to be clear, because i want the background color of the cell to be full not a strip then white then another strip. in the init method of my custom cell i added hoping that the white will turn into red but it doesn't have any effect. [self.textLabel setBackgroundColor:[UIColor redColor]]; i tried also self.textLabel.backgroundColor = [UIColor redColor]; but this also didn't work...if i add a UILabel as a subview the background color of the label can be set..but i don't want to do that because when i rotate the phone i want my labels to auto enlarge... any ideas why setting the background color of cell.textLabel doesn't work? thank you

  • jquery ui-tabs widget , changing the color of the background with css causes problem with display

    I'm using the jquery tabs plugin and want to have the background a light grey color. In the css section for tabs, I found this line of code where I manually added the background-color part: .ui-tabs .ui-tabs-panel { padding: 1em 1em; display: block; border-width: 0; background-color:#EEEEEE;} The problem comes as seen in the picture below, where the grey background is only extending down part of the way. I initially thought I could update the div container with the same background color, but it didn't work. It looks like that white portion below might be some kind of padding, so I looked for that in the css but everything I tried had the same effect. Anyone got some ideas?   • How to Use Calculated Color Values with ColorMatrix?

    I am changing color values of each pixel in an image based on a calculation. The problem is that this takes over 5 seconds on my machine with a 1000x1333 image and I'm looking for a way to optimize it to be much faster. I think ColorMatrix may be an option, but I'm having a difficult time figure out how I would get a set of pixel RGB values, use that to calculate and then set the new pixel value. I can see how this can be done if I was just modifying (multiplying, subtracting, etc.) the original value with ColorMatrix, but now how I can use the pixels returned value to use it to calculate and new value. I know I can set ColorMatrix's M00, M11, M22 to 0, 0, 0 respectively and then put a new value in M40, M41, M42, but that new value is calculated based of a value multiplication and addition of that pixel's components (((0.21 * (Clr.R) + (0.72 * (Clr.G)) + (0.07 * (Clr.B)) and the result of that - Luminance - is multiplied by the color component). Is this even possible with ColorMatrix?

(change dot color if there is something in buy action).
