  • Sending an image via POST Multipart (HTTPRequest)

    I'm trying to send an image to a server, using HTTP Post Multipart. Everything else is fine, I have all the boundrys set and stuff. But what do I have to do to the image before hand? Do I have to convert it to binary? Here is the header data from the header (using Fiddler). This is what I need to upload: -----------------------------7daea2aa40c80 Content-Disposition: form-data; name="pict"; filename="pic.jpeg" Content-Type: image/pjpeg <Binary here ... or at least I think it is> .. ?????JFIF?????????C?   • Problem determining how to order F# types due to circular references

    I have some types that extend a common type, and these are my models. I then have DAO types for each model type for CRUD operations. I now have a need for a function that will allow me to find an id given any model type, so I created a new type for some miscellaneous functions. The problem is that I don't know how to order these types. Currently I have models before dao, but I somehow need DAOMisc before CityDAO and CityDAO before DAOMisc, which isn't possible. The simple approach would be to put this function in each DAO, referring to just the types that can come before it, so, State comes before City as State has a foreign key relationship with City, so the miscellaneous function would be very short. But, this just strikes me as wrong, so I am not certain how to best approach this. So, City needs the id for the state name, so I would get the state name, put it into the state type, then call this function to get the id for that state, so my city insert will also include the id for the foreign key. This seems to be the best approach, in a very generic way to handle inserts, which is the current problem I am trying to solve.

  • Internet Explorer buggy when accessing a custom weblogic provider

    I've created a custom Weblogic Security Authentication Provider on version 10.3 that includes a custom login module to validate users. As part of the provider, I've implemented the ServletAuthenticationFilter and added one filter. The filter acts as a common log on page for all the applications within the domain. When we access any secured URLs by entering them in the address bar, this works fine in IE and Firefox. But when we bookmark the link in IE an odd thing happens. If I click the bookmark, you will see our log on page, then after you've successfully logged into the system the basic auth page will display, even though the user is already authenticated. This never happens in Firefox, only IE. It's also intermittent. 1 time out of 5 IE will correctly redirect and not show the basic auth window. Firefox and Opera will correctly redirect everytime. We've captured the response headers and compared the success and failures, they are identical. final boolean isAuthenticated = authenticateUser(userName, password, req); // Send user on to the original URL if (isAuthenticated) { res.sendRedirect(targetURL); return; } As you can see, once the user is authenticated I do a redirect to the original URL. Is there a step I'm missing? I wish that not using Internet Explorer was an option but it is currently the company standard. Any help or direction would be appreciated. I have tested against IE 6 & 8 and deployed the custom provider on 3 different environments and I can still reproduce the bug.

  • OpenGL: Textured Primitives + High Framerate

    Short version: What's the best practice going forward for efficiently rendering large numbers of independent texture-mapped, lighted 2D/3D primitives (circles, rects, etc.) in OpenGL? For example: a typical particle system using billboarded quads/triangles, point sprites, or whatever other technique, with blending. Because after reading this thread on the messiness of OpenGL versioning/deprecation I'm starting to have my doubts. My specific question is not the ABCs of displaying primitives in OpenGL, but rather how to do so efficiently in post-deprecation (or pre-deprecation) OpenGL, in a way that's going to be compatible with a wide range of commodity hardware and in a way that's not going to break or itself get deprecated, five years down the line.   • Optimal Sharing of heavy computation job using Snow and/or multicore

    Hi, I have the following problem. First my environment, I have two 24-CPU servers to work with and one big job (resampling a large dataset) to share among them. I've setup multicore and (a socket) Snow cluster on each. As a high-level interface I'm using foreach. What is the optimal sharing of the job? Should I setup a Snow cluster using CPUs from both machines and split the job that way (i.e. use doSNOW for the foreach loop). Or should I use the two servers separately and use multicore on each server (i.e. split the job in two chunks, run them on each server and then stich it back together). Basically what is an easy way to: 1. Keep communication between servers down (since this is probably the slowest bit). 2. Ensure that the random numbers generated in the servers are not highly correlated.

  • Eclipse jvm.dll error when loading

    Trying to open Eclipse after a couple of months and get this error: So I checked that folder to see if it existed, and it did: I checked my PATH Was correct and it was also correct: When this error first occurred I had 3 Java installations. JRE 7 Update 10, JDK 7 Update 7 32bit and 64 bit. I uninstall ALL and restarted my machine. Eclipse then stated, as expected that I needed a JRE or a JDK. So I downloaded and installed the latest JDK and now I get this error, despite everything appearing to be correct. Any ideas?

    I am creating a kiosk application and I want to ensure it is always, no matter what, on top of other Windows applications and the Windows task bar. I am already blocking Windows keyboard commands (alt-tab, etc) but there are still situations that could cause an application to launch and steal the screen. Is it possible to hook into Windows from .NET and continually test whether the application has focus and is on top, and if not then give it focus and make it on top?

Every doc library has this folder. I know itemadded can be used but then I heard itemadded fires before user have a chance to complete the metadata for the item they just added. What are my options?     I have 2 databases (users, userRankings) for a system that needs to have rankings updated every 10 minutes. I use the following code to update these rankings which works fairly well, but there is still a full table scan involved which slows things down with a few hundred thousand users. mysql_query("TRUNCATE TABLE userRankings"); mysql_query("INSERT INTO userRankings (userid) SELECT id FROM users ORDER BY score DESC"); mysql_query("UPDATE users a, userRankings b SET a.rank = b.rank WHERE a.id = b.userid"); In the userRankings table, rank is the primary key and userid is an index.   • Center aligned form with equal width labels

    I have a very simple web form which consists of labels and input fields, however I can not seem to find a way of aligning the form in the center of the page and for the labels to have an equal width so that they appear neatly next to each other, one under the other. Also I am not able to set the width of the page (or any containing divs) as the page will be displayed on mobile devices with different screen sizes. Any suggestions as to how best style the form? So before echoing $pageURL I add the following line: $pageUrl = preg_replace("&type=main", "", $pageURL); But it still returns the full url including type=main. How can I get rid of that from the url?

  • Modelling multiple simultaneous states

    How can you go about modelling an object that can have multiple simultaneous states? For example, you could have a person that's waiting for a bus. That's one state. But they could also be reading a newspaper while waiting for the bus. Furthermore, they could be thinking about something while reading the newspaper. They could also be sniffing their nose because they have a cold. That's a four states in all taking place at the same time. Obviously using booleans would be tedious and unflexible. Also, a conventional state pattern would mean that states are exclusive and can't be simultaneous in nature. The only thing I can think of is a State pattern combined with a Composite. Would this do or is there a way of taking things further?

  • Finding N contiguous zero bits in an integer to the left of the MSB position of another integer

    The problem is: given an integer val1 find the position of the highest bit set (Most Significant Bit) then, given a second integer val2 find a contiguous region of unset bits, with the minimum number of zero bits given by width to the left of the position (ie, in the higher bits). I have also implemented similar algorithms but working to the right of the MSB of the first number, so they don't require this seemingly extra condition. How can I get rid of this extra condition, or even, are there far more optimal solutions? Edit: Some background not strictly required. The offset result is a count of bits from the high bit, not from the low bit as maybe expected. This will be part of a wider algorithm which scans a 2D array for a 2D area of zero bits. Here, for testing, the algorithm has been simplified. val1 represents the first integer which does not have all bits set found in a row of the 2D array. From this the 2D version would scan down which is what val2 represents.     I am using a jQuery AJAX request to a page called like.php that connects to my database and inserts a row. It seems to just return an empty string, and in my database under the like_message column all I see is blank entries. If I remove mysql_real_escape_string() though, it works fine.
