  • Class-Dump Installation

    - by sj-dev
So this may sound like a really stupid question and I HAVE looked at the how-to from the parent website, but no matter what I do, I cannot get this program to even start to install... I tried entering: cd /opt/local/bin/portslocation/dports/class-dump which returned a "this file/director doesnt exist" error, so i tried to get to it folder by folder. when i got all the way to: cd /opt/local/bin/ i cannot go any further. when i check the contents of the bin directory, the only files i can find are (and i cannot access these apparently either): "daemondo port portf portindex portmirror" i have tried doing this on 2 computers so far to no avail, macports is installed on both like the website said and i am having trouble finding any support for it. please and thank you!!

  • Keeping connection to APNs open on App Engine using Modules in Go

    - by user3727820
I'm trying to implement iOS push notifications for a messageboard app I've written (so like notification for new message ect. ect.) but have no real idea where to start. Alot the current documentation seems to be out of date in regard to keeping persistent TLS connections open to the APNs from App Engine and links to articles about depreciated backends I'm using the Go runtime and just keep getting stuck. For instance, the creation of the socket connection to APNs requires a Context which can only be got from a HTTP request, but architecturally this doesn't seem to make a lot of sense because ideally the socket remains open regardless. Is there any clearer guides around that I'm missing or right now is it a better idea to setup a separate VPS or compute instance to handle it?

  • iPhone keeps going into dim/sleep mode even with the proper API calls.

    - by Kyle
I call: [[ UIApplication sharedApplication ] setIdleTimerDisabled: YES ] on the applicationDidFinishLaunching event.. I set a breakpoint on it, which fires so I know it's getting called.. I've also called this function in other places as well.. Basically, a 3G iPhone will still go into sleep mode, but my 3GS won't. Has anyone seen this behavior before? Both are running the latest OS versions. Thanks for reading!

  • APNS Sending Frequent Notifications to Device

    - by user564447
I'm trying to mimic a pager with my app by sending push notifications to the user until he or she responds. My thought was to send a push every few seconds and play the default sound on arrival. Not perfect, but better than nothing. It's working all right. However, I am finding that the sound starts to stutter/interrupt a bit after a few notifications have been sent -- as if it's trying to play the sound more than once. This happens even if I only send the push every 10 seconds. I just tested it at 20 second intervals and even then it starts to sound interrupted after about 10 times. Any idea how to resolve this so each message plays the sound crisply? p.s. Testing performed on an iPad.

  • Check if NSMutableArray contains text from textfield

    - by Polo Swelsen
I want to check if the text inserted in a textfield is also in my NSMutableArray. So let's say my NSMutableArray has these objects: "Hey, Hello, No, Yes". Then when a user enters the text: "Hello" i want there to appear a UIAlertView. I now have the following: for (int slt = 0; slt < [zouten count]; slt++) { if (zout.text = [zouten objectAtIndex:slt]) { alert = [[UIAlertView alloc]initWithTitle:@"Goedzo!" message:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"Je hebt een zout gevonden"] delegate:self cancelButtonTitle:@"OK" otherButtonTitles:nil]; } } [alert show]; But somehow the message appears with every word. what am i doing wrong?

  • IPhone: Controllers, Delagates, DataSources, etc all in one class?

    - by MLS
Hi All, I am learning iPhone programming. I am starting with a simple example of displaying recently used documents in a UITableView. What I am confused about is why do I need to have several classes and why cant I just use one? Example, My class is called RecentFileList. I need to implement controller, delegate and datasource as well as the actual table view. Can't I just do this all in my RecentFileList Class versus having to create a RecentFileListDelegate RecentFileListController, RecentFileListDataSource class, etc, etc. Related to this can one define a class like: @interface FileListView : NSObject <UITableViewDelegate> <UITableViewController> <UITableViewDataSource { // code } @end or would I just do the work to make my class a delegate and controller in init()?

  • What's the best way to return different cells depending on position in a UITableView

    - by Robert Conn
I have a grouped UITableView that has 3 sections and a number of cells in each section that each need to be a different custom cell, with different display requirements. I currently have a large if statement in cellForRowAtIndexPath, with each branch instantiating and returning the appropriate custom cell based on interrogating the indexPath's section and row properties. e.g. if (indexPath.section == 0 && indexPath.row == 0) { // instantiate and return cell A } else if (indexPath.section == 1 && indexPath.row == 2) { // instantiate and return cell B } //etc etc What is best practice for this scenario? A large if statement does the job, but is it the best implementation?

    - by slooker
I have a view that I'm trying to load in Swift like this, but it crashes with this error: 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: '-[UIViewController _loadViewFromNibNamed:bundle:] loaded the "DetailView" nib but the view outlet was not set.' • iOS didFinishLaunchingWithOptions method options==nil

    - by poopChai
I was trying to fetch remote notification info when the app was not running,so I was told that I can get from : UILocalNotification *localNotification = [launchOptions objectForKey:UIApplicationLaunchOptionsRemoteNotificationKey] in method: - (BOOL)application:(UIApplication *)application didFinishLaunchingWithOptions:(NSDictionary *)launchOptions ,but still can't get info. Then I use alertView to show the info on iPhone(launch without Xcode),still can't get the info. Any other issue would cause this? Please let me know if you have any ideas.

  • How to implement a UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleHeight to a UIScrollView using Objective C in iPhone SD

    - by AppleHack23
Hello, I'm working on multiple applications for my school. I just need this last bit of code and I was wondering how I could implement a UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleHeight into the app for each textfield. What this does is it makes the textfield pop above the keyboard, rather than over lapping it. I have already implemented a UIScrollView, so if someone on here could be pretty descriptive, or post a link to a video, that would be well appreciated. I am new to coding. Thanks very much!!!!

  • Optional Navigation Controller

    - by Kevin Sylvestre
I have an application containing a variety of view controllers linked together in different ways (Welcome Browse Preview OR Browse Preview OR Settings Splash). The first view controller is presented modally using a navigation controller from a main controller, then the next set of view controllers are added using pop and push. This works correctly, but I need to be able to define my 'UINavigationBar' and 'UIToolbar' within interface builder, so they still work as expected if they are presented without using a navigation controller. Is this possible? Currently I get this if I try:

  • iDevice for Dummies: Can a device be assigned multiple provisions (Personal/Enterprise)?

    - by Alex
Hi guys, Is it possible to assign multiple provisions to an iDevice? To be honest, I'm not sure if I'm using the correct terminology, but basically, I'm developing an iPad app for a company and I've only been testing it in the simulator because I don't have a registration to the developer program and they haven't setup their enterprise registration yet either. And I'm sure you all know how limited the simulator is... I don't really care about the $99 it costs to join, but what I'm worried about is having my iDevices locked permanently to my personal registration and unable to switch back and forth to the enterprise registration. I'd appreciate it if someone can explain to me how the registrations work. And keep in mind, I'm a dummy. :) Thanks in advance!

  • Graph not following orientation

    - by user1214037
so I am trying to draw some grid lines that in landscape go all the way down to the bottom, however when I switch to landscape the the graph doesn't follow and the grid lines go smaller. I have set the - (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation { // Return YES for supported orientations return YES; } However it still doesn't work, here is my code. Can anyone spot the problem? this is the custom view file, the view controller is the default apart from the code above that returns yes. .h file #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> #define kGraphHeight 300 #define kDefaultGraphWidth 900 #define kOffsetX 10 #define kStepX 50 #define kGraphBottom 300 #define kGraphTop 0 @interface GraphView : UIView @end And here is the implementation - (void)drawRect:(CGRect)rect { CGContextRef context = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(); CGContextSetLineWidth(context, 0.6); CGContextSetStrokeColorWithColor(context, [[UIColor lightGrayColor] CGColor]); // How many lines? int howMany = (kDefaultGraphWidth - kOffsetX) / kStepX; // Here the lines go for (int i = 0; i < howMany; i++) { CGContextMoveToPoint(context, kOffsetX + i * kStepX, kGraphTop); CGContextAddLineToPoint(context, kOffsetX + i * kStepX, kGraphBottom); } CGContextStrokePath(context); } Any help would be appreciated btw I am following this tutorial http://buildmobile.com/creating-a-graph-with-quartz-2d/#fbid=YDPLqDHZ_9X

  • "pay if you want to" using in app purchases (iphone)

    - by Jonathan
I realise that you can't use in app purchases for real things. But does an in app purchase actually have to give extra functionality in the app. Can it be used to have optional paying? I've made an app that really should be free but I'd like to make a little money even if it's only one 59p. So could I have an in app purchase which users can click to pay if they want to. it might sound stupid but I'm betting there is at least one person who would becase they are nice :)
