• Good event calendaring / scheduling design guide?

  Hello, In an application I'm designing, the user has to be able to specify rather complex event scheduling (continuous time-block vs. daily time-blocks, exception date/times, recurrence patterns etc.) Does anyone know of a good design page for such a thing online? • How do you prompt the user to rate your iphone app without waiting for them to delete the app?

  I am referring to the popup window that asks the user to submit a review/rating. I know it can be done since the Aardark app does it...it asks several times in fact! (Almost too spammy.) But there has to be an API to trigger the rating request? Google is giving me no love on this one.

• need a regex to parse a csv file with double quotes in php

  Trying to parse a csv file that has all the data wrapped in double quotes, because there may be commas in the double quotes. Looks like this: $songs = '"1, 2, 3, 4 (I Love You)","Plain White T's","CBE10-22",15,"CBE10-22","","","CB",984,"","10/05/10"'; $regResult = preg_match( "", $songs, $matches ); I can't figure out a regex that will return the data between the quotes as the matches. I'm sure there is some regex master that can help me with this.

• Can MKS Integrity integrate with other source control tools? (SVN, Git...)

  My boss is interested in using MKS Integrity for bug tracking, feature requests, Wiki documentation and so on. However, we currently use Subversion, and he doesn't want to force us devs to use a version control system that we don't like. Is is possible to integrate a different version control program into MKS Integrity? I'm particularly interested in SVN, Git, Mercurial and Bazaar. If you've tried mixing tools like this before, I'd love to hear about your experiences.

  I've got 30 unopened Lego Mindstorms kits that I'd love to use in my intro programming class to do some simple robotics stuff at the end of the year. We're using Python in the class, so I'd prefer there to be a way for the kids to write the programs in Python.   I love the GNU readline library, but since it is under a GPL license, I can not use it for commercial software. Do you know alternatives ? I only need the commandline history and auto completion (of customer keywords and files) features. Any suggestions, surely this must be a common task for people building interactive shell commands.

• Is IE Collection reliable tool for testing with various versions of Internet Explorer?

  On my Windows machine -- I typically test different versions of Internet Explorer using an array of Virtual Machine instances (which obviously requires a fair amount of investment in time and money). In a pinch I have also used IETester -- which at times can be a little unreliable. However, I just discovered IE Collection and was wondering if people have used it -- and can I rely on it for web page testing purposes? Would love to know what you think.

  I can't really explain why exactly, but I really hate the .net DateTimePicker control built into C#.net and VB.net. Is anyone aware of a good alternative to either of these controls which is freely available? I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't like the control. I would love to convert some current databases to Oracle and take advantage of its support for Java stored procedures, but that option is not available at the moment. • What is the MacVim default font?

  Hey there, I love using macvim, and I really like the default font, but at work I recently got some bigger monitors, and I want to make the text bigger. It says in the macvim docs that it is Bitstream Vera, but trying to set the font like so: :set guifont=Bitstream\ Vera\ Sans\ Mono:h16 results in an invalid font(s) error. So what is the default font then? I'm running the latest version of macvim and I am running Snow Leopard. Thanks!!
