  I would like to do something like that: An object ReportingFile that can be a LogRequest or a LogReport file. ( both got the same structure) An object Reporting containing for one logRequest, a list of logReport with a date. I tryed to set an EmbededId, that would be an attribute of the logRequest. And that's the problem i got. I don't arrive to mannage embedded id. • Python ImportError when executing 'import.py', but not when executing 'python import.py'

  I am running Cygwin Python version 2.5.2. I have a three-line source file, called import.py: #!/usr/bin/python import xml.etree.ElementTree as ET print "Success!" When I execute "python import.py", it works: C:\Temp>python import.py Success! When I run the python interpreter and type the commands, it works: C:\Temp>python Python 2.5.2 (r252:60911, Dec 2 2008, 09:26:14) [GCC 3.4.4 (cygming special, gdc 0.12, using dmd 0.125)] on cygwin Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information. >>> #!/usr/bin/python ... import xml.etree.ElementTree as ET >>> print "Success!" Success! >>> But when I execute "import.py', it does not work: C:\Temp>which python /usr/bin/python C:\Temp>import.py Traceback (most recent call last): File "C:\Temp\import.py", line 2, in ? import xml.etree.ElementTree as ET ImportError: No module named etree.ElementTree When I remove the first line (#!/usr/bin/python), I get the same error. I need that line in there, though, for when this script runs on Linux. And it works fine on Linux. Any ideas? Thanks.

• Core Data: Keypath "objectID" not found in entity

  I'm using NSFetchedResultsController with a predicate to load a list of Documents in my application. I want to load all the Documents except the currently active one. I am using Rentzsch's MOGenerator to create a _Document class and then I put all my custom code in the Document subclass. _Document generates an objectID property with type DocumentID. • LINQ To SQL ignore unique constraint exception and continue

  I have a single table in a database called Users Users ------ ID (PK, Identity) Username (Unique Index) I have setup a unique index on the Username table to prevent duplicates. I am then enumerating through a collection and creating a new user in the database for each item. What I want to do is just insert a new user and ignore the exception if the unique key constraint is violated (as it's clearly a duplicate record in that case). This is to avoid having to craft where not exists kind of queries. First off, is this going to be any more efficient or should my insert code be checking for duplicates instead? I'm drawn more to the database having that logic as this prevents any other type of client from inserting duplicate data. My other issue is related to LINQ To SQL. I have the following code: public class TestRepo { DatabaseDataContext database = new DatabaseDataContext(); public void Add(string username) { database.Users.InsertOnSubmit(new User() { Username = username }); } public void Save() { database.SubmitChanges(); } } And then I iterate over a collection and insert new users, ignoring any exceptions: TestRepo repo = new TestRepo(); foreach (var name in new string[] { "Tim", "Bob", "John" }) { try { repo.Add(name); repo.Save(); } catch { } } The first time this is run, great I have three users in the table. If I remove the second one and run this code again, nothing is inserted. I expected the first insert to fail with the exception, the second to succeed (as I just removed that item from the DB) and the third to then fail. What seems to be happening is that once the SqlException is thrown (even though the loop continues to iterate) all of the next inserts fail - even when there isn't a row in the table that would cause a unique violation. Can anyone explain this? P.S. The only workaround I could find was to instantiate the repo each time before the insert, then it worked exactly as excepted - indicating that it's something to do with the LINQ To SQL DataContext. Thanks.

Something similar to how you do it in php: $fb->api_client->users_hasAppPermission('publish_stream'); I know i can request a permission with FB.Connect.showPermissionDialog('publish_stream', null); But i just wan't to know if i have the permission or not.

Using an own WorkManager allows me to specify my own thread timeout (MaxThreadStuckTime) instead of adjusting the timeout for the whole business application. Request may not be satisfactory for multiple AJAX requests, while session will not work with multiple browser windows per one session. • What are the reasons why the CPU usage doesn’t go 100% with C# and APM?

  I have an application which is CPU intensive. When the data is processed on a single thread, the CPU usage goes to 100% for many minutes. So the performance of the application appears to be bound by the CPU. I have multithreaded the logic of the application, which result in an increase of the overall performance. However, the CPU usage hardly goes above 30%-50%. I would expect the CPU (and the many cores) to go to 100% since I process many set of data at the same time. Below is a simplified example of the logic I use to start the threads. When I run this example, the CPU goes to 100% (on an 8/16 cores machine). However, my application which uses the same pattern doesn’t. public class DataExecutionContext { public int Counter { get; set; } // Arrays of data } static void Main(string[] args) { // Load data from the database into the context var contexts = new List<DataExecutionContext>(100); for (int i = 0; i < 100; i++) { contexts.Add(new DataExecutionContext()); } // Data loaded. The best way I found was to create a context in which a thread can read/write in memory. Contexts are not shared among other threads. The threads can’t access the database, files or network. In other words, I profiled my application and I didn’t find any bottleneck. Why the CPU usage of my application doesn’t go about 50%? Is it the pattern I use? Should I create my own thread instead of using the .Net thread pool? Is there any gotchas? Is there any tool that you could recommend me to find my issue? Thanks!

  Hi, I have a form with 3 fields (simplyfied example). The first one is a checkbox. <ice:selectBooleanCheckBox value=#{backingBean.bean.visible} ID=checkbox1 partialSubmit=true> The second one is a <ice:inputText ID=text1> The third one is also a <ice:inputText ID=text2> text1 should only be visible when checkbox1 is checked. text2 is a required field. So my first approach with just using #{backingBean.bean.visible} failed because text2 has is required and a validation message appeared (after the checkbox was clicked) when the text2 field is empty. Because of ths valdation error the form was never completely submitted such that the visible property is set (update model phase was never reached). So my question: how can I make sure text1 is only visible when checkbox1 is clicked? Thanks.

(Event Id 4096 in Event log) when trying to install a VSTO application from both a ClickOnce deployment and a local copy. This is interesting as the .NET framework is installed (on my 32bit Windows 7 PC) and the VSTO application was developed on the self same machine (and works in Visual Studio 2008). Does anybody has an idea why I could get this exception?   I am using Struts-1. I have developed a struts-based web application. I am using struts tags in my JSP pages supplied in struts-taglib.jar by inserting the following lines in the JSP file: <%@ taglib prefix="html" uri="http://struts.apache.org/tags-html" %> <%@ taglib prefix="logic" uri="http://struts.apache.org/tags-logic" %> <%@ taglib prefix="bean" uri="http://struts.apache.org/tags-bean" %> Now the application is working fine when I run it on my localsystem but when I deploy it on a server, it shows the following exception: org.apache.jasper.JasperException: The absolute uri: http://struts.apache.org/tags-html cannot be resolved in either web.xml or the jar files deployed with this application From the above exception, it seems that the application hasn't found the struts-taglib.jar file.   I've got a database change management workflow in place. It's based on SQL scripts (so, it's not a managed code-based solution). The basic setup looks like this: Initial/ Generate Initial Schema.sql Generate Initial Required Data.sql Generate Initial Test Data.sql Migration 0001_MigrationScriptForChangeOne.sql 0002_MigrationScriptForChangeTwo.sql ... The process to spin up a database is to then run all the Initlal scripts, and then run the sequential Migration scripts. A tool takes case of the versioning requirements, etc. My question is, in this kind of setup, is it useful to also maintain this: Current/ Stored Procedures/ dbo.MyStoredProcedureCreateScript.sql ... Tables/ dbo.MyTableCreateScript.sql ... ... By "this" I mean a directory of scripts (separated by object type) that represents the create scripts for spinning up the current/latest version of the database. For some reason, I really like the idea, but I can't concretely justify it's need. Am I missing something? The advantages would be: For dev and source control, we would have the same object-per-file setup that we're used to For deployment, we can spin up a new DB instance to the latest version either by running the Initial+Migrate, or by running the scripts from Current/ For dev, we do not need a DB instance running in order to do development. We can do "offline" development on the Current/ folder. The disadvantages would be: For each change, we need to update the scripts in the Current/ folder, as well as create a Migration script (in the Migration/ folder) Thanks in advance for any input!

The JSON only return the default form but it does not highlight the validation errors or show the validation summary. Am I missing something? • Problem with Richfaces running with NGinx proxy

  Hi, I got a problem with my Richfaces application. I am using it with JSF and GlassFish v.2 on my localhost and combination od dataTable and dataScroller works fine. While moving the app to the VPS running Tomcat but proxied by Nginx server, everything crashes. Exactly the scroller is working, but the dataTable view is not refreshed! I looked at responses with Firebug and figured out, that even on VPS the response contains 2nd page of the dataTable, but it is not shown on the screen. I tried everything - changing page attribute of dataScroller (it was taken from session bean, I changed that to request bean). I also removed page attribute from dataScroller - did not help either. Finally I added my table to reRender attribute of dataScroller - still whichever page I choose I am seeing only the first one. Does anyone even heard about such problem? I am going crazy with this.
