Hi,
I just pulled the 2010 ultimate from MSDN, and I see there's no "Smart Device" options anymore. Does anybody knows how to enable it, or how to install it?
Sincerely,
Yvan

With Microsoft Ultimate Wisdom they have changed the location of updates from Registry. I can get the updates from Windows 2003 Servers no problem. Its just that Windows 7 is no longer in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
Any body got any other ways to get it. Preferably in C# or using WMI?
God Save Microsoft with their Wisdom
Now that Microsoft has released VS 2010 I went to the product page here. To my amazement I found out that IntelliTrace(Historical Debugger) is supported only on the Ultimate Edition of VS 2010. This mean that you have to spend almost $4000 for renewal and almost $12000 for a new license. Does someone have any idea how can we change this decision? Especially make them add this feature to VS 2010 Professional Edition.
I just installed MSVS2010 Ultimate & I've noticed something which is somewhat annoying & conflicting with my syntax highlighting, as can be seen:
As can be seen, when a keyword/function/variable/etc is highlighted all other instances of the aforementioned are highlighted too. This is somewhat annoying.
Is there any way to disable this?
If I install
Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate (x86) - DVD (English)
Are the following seperate MSDN installs already included?
Visual Studio Team Explorer 2010 (x86) - DVD (English)
Visual Studio Team Explorer Everywhere 2010 (x86 and x64) - DVD (English)

Hi I have VS 2010 Ultimate installed on Win 7 Enterprise (32 bit). In my middleware I have some DLLS referred. If i try to build the solution, some of the DLLs are not getting recogninized and the solution will not build. The same solution builds fine on VS 2008. Any Idea why this happens?
I'm talking about VS 2010 Professional/Ultimate RTM (not express versions).
Google doesn't show much other than stuff about the beta 2 and RC versions.
Will it run OK on a Core 2 Duo E6550 2.33GHz with 3GB RAM and NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS?
I have a JSON object like the following
var p =
{
"p1": "value1",
"p2": "value2",
"p3": "value3"
};
Now I want to loop through all p elements (p1,p2,p3...) and get their key and values. How can I do that? I can modify the Json object if necessary . My ultimate goal is to loop through some key value pairs. And if possible I want to avoid using eval.
I've seen this type of problem before but only on ASP.net applications. I'm using a plain ol' WinForms application with Visual Studio 2008. I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate x64. The error I get when trying to debug my solution is:
Error while trying to run project:
Unable to start debugging
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Codeplex gave me the relevant information for proper connection, and I connected to my repository using the Team Connect to Team Foundation Sever in VS 2010 Ultimate.
Here is what I see:
How can I push the code I have made on my machine, to the repository on CodePlex?
First, my compiler and OS:
Qt Creator 1.3
Qt 4.6 (32 bit)
Windows 7 Ultimate
I want to learn how to create and import a dll in Qt. I've created a *.dll file using Qt Creator, called Shared1.dll which contains nothing but an empty class named Shared1. Now I'd like to use Shared1 class in another Qt project. How can I do that?
Thanks in advance.
Hello,
I am trying to find a good resource on web and load testing. I'm using Visual Studio 2010 ultimate and, while i'm sure it is too early for much material to be released, i'm hoping there are some good resources for Visual Studio 2008 that are still relevant. While MSDN has some good information I'm looking for something more cohesive that i can view on my way to/from work - hence a book or a video
Thanks in advance,
JP
I've been very upset these past years with all the UML tools (especially the clunky mammoth Rational Rose from IBM which I really hated each time a client asked to use it). I think UML did suffer from bad integration. I rarely used UML myself because of lack of productivity.
So I had a positive surprise with Visual Studio 2010 especially the sequence diagram reversing tool which really helps understand code.
For people who had tried VS 2010 Ultimate do you think the same ?
I want to download VS 2010 Ultimate through my MSDN licence, but I don't see one for the 64-bit. There's Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2010 (x86 and x64) - DVD (English), but is that just the server or can I use it for dev too?
Very often I hear: use profiler, do unit test. How to do it? I would be glad if someone would provide either links to websites with tutorials or recommend a good book. I'm using Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate.
I know there are plenty of C++ GUI libraries out there. Here is an incomplete but significant list:
MFC
Qt
wxWidgets
Ultimate++
WTL
Win32
Win32Gui
WinForms
Here is what i want
Well documented
Modern (and well designed) interface
Easy to use
Widely used
GUI editor (RAD tool)
Free
Clean Windows 7 x64 system. Try to install VS 2010 Ultimate and the installation breaks with error:
CRootComponent::Install(): Cannot install; setup files failed verification.
What could be the problem on a clean Win7???
I'm using IntellIJ with Apache Wicket and IntelliJ is showing me that tags like <wicket:extend> and <wicket:container> and adding wicket:id to other html tags is not valid.
What steps do I need to take to make IntelliJ recognize the wicket tags?
I'm using IntelliJ Ultimate 9 with the wicketforge plugin.
I have written a program to store a bunch of strings in a JFC hash table. There are defiantly collisions going on, but I don't really know how it is handling them. My ultimate goal is to print the number of occurrences of each string in the table, and traversing the bucket or list would work nicely. Or maybe counting the collisions? Or do you have another idea of how I could get a count of the elements?
I have a macro which runs several Sql queries. One of these queries is run based off a date which in input in a msgbox within the macro (only companies after the date entered are generated).
Is it possible to put the value entered in the msgbox at the time the macro is run in a table by itself? (my ultimate goal is to put the value on a report to indicate that values displayed are after the following date: variable)
Thanks
