• Traceability with XSD

  I am trying to let my XML schema handle a little traceability functionality as I'm gathering requirements while I read through some functional specifications. (Not ideal for requirement management, but at least its a start.) What I'm doing is creating a <functionalSpec tag for each functional specification I am currently reading through. I create a <requirement tag for each requirement I find. Since I want to be able to trace where the requirement came from, I create a <trace element with the id of the <functionalSpec element. Instead of allowing myself to enter any plain-old-text in the <functionalSpecId tag, I want the XSD to validate and make sure that I only enter in an id that exists for an existing functional spec. My problem is coming in where it seems the XML Schema W3C Recommendations documentation says that what I want to do is not possible. (about 1/2 way down) {selector} specifies a restricted XPath ([XPath]) expression relative to instances of the element being declared. This must identify a node set of subordinate elements (i.e. contained within the declared element) to which the constraint applies. I'm using Oxygen to create this since I'm fairly new to XSD files, and it gives me the following error: E [Xerces] Identity Constraint error: identity constraint "KeyRef@1045a2" has a keyref which refers to a key or unique that is out of scope. So my question is does anyone know of a way that will allow me to use the same XML structure that I have below through using XSD? • Windows-1251 file inside UTF-8 site?

  Hello everyone Masters Of Web Delevopment :) I have a piece of PHP script that fetches last 10 played songs from my winamp. This script is inside file (lets call it "lastplayed.php") which is included in my site with php include function inside a "div". My site is on UTF-8 encoding. The problem is that some songs titles are in Windows-1251 encoding. And in my site they displays like "??????"... Is there any known way to tell to this div with included "lastplayed.php" in it, to be with windows-1251 encoding? Or any other suggestions? P.S: The file with fetching script a.k.a. "lastplayed.php", is converted to UTF-8. But if it is ANCII it's the same result. I try to put and meta tag with windows-1251 between head tag but nothing happens again.   I am trying to create a listview that receives a flagged list of items to indicate a status to the user. I have been able to create the flag display by using a yellow background (see image at bottom). In Theory, the flagged list can have many flagged items in it. However in my app, only the first three flagged backgrounds are shown. I believe this is because they are initially drawn to the screen. The Flagged background that are not drawn initially to the screen do not show. I'd like to know how to get the remaining flags to show in the list. ListView Recycling: The backgrounds in the listView are being recycled in getView(). This recycling goes from position 0 to position 9. I have flags that need to match at positions 13, 14 and so on. Those positions are not being displayed. listView.getCheckedItemPositions() for multiple selections: This method will not work in my case because the user will not selected the flags. The flags are coming from the server. setNotifyOnChange() and/or public virtual void SetNotifyOnChange (bool notifyOnChange): I'm not adding new data to the list, so I don't see how this method would work for my program. Does this method communicate to getview when it is recycling data? I have some Classic ASP with include headers like the following referencing MDAC 2.5: METADATA TYPE="TypeLib" NAME="Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects 2.5 Library" UUID="{00000205-0000-0010-8000-00AA006D2EA4}" VERSION="2.5" Now I am trying to call this same include file on a Windows 2008 box with IIS 7 using MDAC 2.8 with this: METADATA TYPE="typelib" NAME="Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects 2.8 Library" UUID="{2A75196C-D9EB-4129-B803-931327F72D5C}" VERSION="2.8" My question is, why does this not work anymore?   I have a new repository on an existing subversion server that requires us to perform path based authorization within the repository. I found that the AuthzSVNAccessFile directive in apache is directly responsible for allowing this functionality. After fixing several other problems such as AuthzSVNAccessFile preventing SVNListParentPath from operating properly, I am left with one single problem. I can checkout, I can update, I can commit, BUT I cannot execute an SVN COPY for performing branch/tagging operations. The moment I comment out the AuthzSVNAccessFile line in the Apache config everything works as expected except the obvious path authorizations. Please note that, while yes this is a test repository on a test server, I am experiencing this same issue in this test setup where I have eliminated all other possible causes (mixed repository configurations, externals, etc). I have also confirmed that all files for the repository (/var/svn/authtestbasic) are owned by the Apache user www-data.

• Choice of operating systems for a Rackspace cloud installation

  I am planning to use Rackspace cloud services to host a java web application and also run apace for wordpress and trac. What would be a stable operating system to host such an application. My requirements are that the core OS bundle should be minimalistic (so I can install only what I want), consume very little memory and be performant. I would also need it to contain softwares for the common lamp stack, J2EE stack etc. A supported package manager would be lovely. My choices are listed below. RHEL 5.3 or 5.4 Debian Lenny Ubuntu 8.04 onwards Centos 5.3 or 5.4 Arch 2009.02 Gentoo 2008.0 or 10.1 Fedora 11 or 12 PS: can somebody add the rackspace tag to this? Edit to remove this line as well. • Usability Problems with RDP and Dual Monitors

  Hi All, When I RDP into a win2k3 machine with the dual mon settings, I've noticed that there are a couple of usability problems: 1) Dialog boxes are popped up right in the middle of both monitors making it hard to read. 2) Windows are maximized to both monitors instead of just one. 3) The task bar spans across two monitors. (This is just a matter of preference. I prefer my task bar to span across just my primary monitor) I know that Splitview is a good tool that solves all these problems, but there's a price-tag to it. To be fair, $39 for a tool like this is not too bad at all. However, before I suggest this tool to my team and manager to get the licenses for it, are there any free alternatives that will solve the 3 above problems? -Steve

• Heartbeat won't successfully start up resources from a cold boot when a failed node is present

  I currently have two ubuntu servers running Heartbeat and DRBD. The servers are directory connected with a 1000Mbps crossover cable on eth1 and have access to an IP camera LAN on eth0. Now, let's say that one node is down and the remaining functional node is booting after having been shut down. The node that is still functioning won't start up heartbeat and provide access to the drbd resource from a cold boot. I have to manually restart heartbeat by sudo service heartbeat restart to get everything up and running. How can I get it to start fine from a cold start, when only one server is present? • Can't login to Manager App in Tomcat 6.0.18

  Folks, I can't login to the manager app (localhost:8080/manager/html) in my Tomcat. More specifically, it asks for my username and password, and the ones supposed to be correct aren't accepted. Here's what I already checked: I tried editing my conf/tomcat-users.xml to add my user/role. Here's the current content of this file: <?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?> <tomcat-users> <role rolename="manager"/> <user username="tomcat" password="s3cret" roles="manager"/> </tomcat-users> I thought that maybe it wasn't looking up on this XML, but elsewhere. So, I came to know about Realms. The Realm part of my configuration is now: < Realm className="org.apache.catalina.realm.MemoryRealm" / ( please ignore the space before Realm, for some reason this site isn't accepting the literal tag ) What am I missing?

  On a Windows Server 2012 box, I'm using PS to create a new IIS User (for automated deployments using MSDeploy). • Large svn external

  I have a project which uses a large library residing in its own repository. Using: Tortoise-SVN, the server is running an enterprise edition of VisualSVN The project itself has the "standard" structure: trunk tags branches In each branch, tag, and trunk is the library, set as an external (svn:external property). If I get the entire tree, I get the library several times, which is just getting too ridiculously repetitive. Is there a recommended structure for this? Or perhaps a way not to get all externals (because other externals are much smaller, easier to manipulate)?

LaTeX support--I can type in LaTeX in the editor and it will show the math properly. No anonymous anything--must sign up and be logged in to view and comment Not as important, but convenient: Admin controls, e.g. detailed statistics, see who posts or views what when, control who posts / views, etc. Hosting: Ideally, if there's some software I can install on "my" own server, that would be ideal. But if we can't host it, it'd still be good to find some free (or maybe even paid) service elsewhere that would host the blog if it provided those tools. Any thoughts? I have no experience with this.   Upgraded hard drive in Lenovo T61P; decided to start fresh with Windows 7 Pro. Windows installed, so DVD drive was working. All of a sudden, driver is not recognized. Device is "HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-U10N ATA Device". It appears on device manager but with the yellow tag; have tried uninstalling, searching for drivers, everything I can think of. • Connection problem between redmine and svn

  I have server controlled by Debian 6.0. I installed and configured redmine some time ago, and now configured svn server. Now i'm trying to configure redmine to be able to view svn repository. URL is: https://192.168.11.78/svn/bee Connection is not working, log show this error: Error parsing svn output: #<REXML::ParseException: No close tag for /lists/list> Google says that its common error, and its possible to fix it by permamently accept of server certificate so i did it and nothing. Still dont work. Later, i added [global] store-plaintext-passwords = no in file .subversion/servers I did this (and cert accept) for both root and www-data users. Nothing helped, still got error in redmine The entry or revision was not found in the repository. What else i can do with it?

  I have some huge xml text files. I need to write a script to find and print a specific tag only. I tried sed and grep but they both return the whole line. Using SunOS 5.x, so not all linux commands may work. grep -o is not available. The 'xml' file is not actually one huge xml document, but each line is a separate xml document, with just a few tags, not even nested. And the structure is fairly easy, so full xml parsers is not needed, and probably would not work. I was looking for sed, awk, or some other one liners, but could not get them to work, and they are both relatively new to me.

• Lenovo DVD Drive Disabled After Windows 7 Install

  Upgraded hard drive in Lenovo T61P; decided to start fresh with Windows 7 Pro. Windows installed, so DVD drive was working. All of a sudden, driver is not recognized. Device is "HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-U10N ATA Device". It appears on device manager but with the yellow tag; have tried uninstalling, searching for drivers, everything I can think of. Cannot even start over with Windows 7 installation disk because disk spins but then stops and My Computer does not recognize the drive. Help please. thank you. David Lacher

  I have been using Outlook for Mac 2011 for last 2 years. Now I want to list out all the people in my email correspondences (sent and inbox) and send them one email. Where can I find the database of everyone's email address in my Mac? The mail will have to have email addresses one after another like this: [email protected], [email protected] all in the format which is accepted in outlook and which can be emailed immediately. I need to basically tag all my email address to send them one email.
