  • help me to choose the best soulotion for my purpose to build my software.

    before answer me plz thinking about the futures of these kind of program and answer me plz. I wanna get some data from oracle server like: 1-get all the function,package,procedure and etc for showing them or drop them & etc... 2-compile my *.sql files,get the result if they have problem & etc... becuz I was beginner in oracle first of all I for solve the second problem I try to connect to sqlPlus by RUN sqlplus and trace the output(I mean,I change the output stream of shell and trace what happend and handle the assigned message to customer. NOW THIS PART SUCCEED. just a little bit I have problem with get all result because the output is asynchronous.any way... [in this case I log in to oracle Server by send argument to the sqlplus by make a process in c#] after that I try to get all function,package or procedure name,but I have problem in speed!so I try to use oracle.DataAccess.dll to connect the database. now I m so confusing about: which way is correct way to build a program that work like Oracle Developer! I do not have any experience for like these program how work. If Your answer is I must use the second way follow this part plz: I search a little bit the Golden,PLedit (Benthic software),I have little bit problem how I must create the connection string?because I thinking about how I can find the host name or port number that oracle work on them?? am I need read the TNSNames.Ora file? IF your answer is I must use the first way follow this part plz: do u have any Idea for how I parse the output?because for example the result of a table is so confusing...[i can handle & program it but I really need someone experience,because the important things to me learn how such software work so nice and with quick response?] All of the has different style in output... If you are not sure Can u help me which book can help me in this way i become expert? becuz for example all the C# write just about how u can connect to DB and the DB books write how u can use this DB program,I looking for a book that give me some Idea how develop an interface for do transaction between these two.not simple send and receive data,for example how write a compiler for them. the language of book is not different for me i know C#,java,VB,sql,Oracle Thanks.

  • I'm having a problem redeploying an applications using Drools and Tomcat 6

    I have a spring application that uses JBoss Drools 5. It works fine except for when I attempt to redeploy (i.e. hot deploy) the application after I make a change during development. It appears that tomcat keeps a lock on 2 drools jar files, drools-compiler-5.0.1.jar and drools-core-5.0.1.jar. Since they can't be deleted the new war file does not get deployed. If my application does not make any Drools logic calls, then the hot deploy works. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Hi Every one , I have a Key Store and from the Key store i get the Certificate , and i sign the applet jar with the certificate that got . I am also importing my certificate to the "Trusted Certificates " , It says import sucess full but the certificate is not shown in the Trusted certificates. On running the applet (html applet) , i am getting the certificate , but that certificate could not be verified . Please any one help me with inputs .!!

    I need to source some graphics/icons for my application I'm writing (Windows WinForms). I need graphics for toolbar buttons, icons for form headers and graphics for wizard dialog boxes. As a last resort I'm willing to create them myself - a move that might make them (and my whole application) look amazingly bad. What are some good sources (free or not) where I can get these kinds of programmer icons? I'd like the icons to be at least 32x32 256 color.

    I have these 3 queries: SELECT title, year, MovieGenres(m.mid) genres, MovieDirectors(m.mid) directors, MovieWriters(m.mid) writers, synopsis, poster_url FROM movies m WHERE m.mid = 1; SELECT AVG(rating) FROM movie_ratings WHERE mid = 1; SELECT COUNT(rating) FROM movie_ratings WHERE mid = 1; And I need to join them into a single query. I was able to do it like this: SELECT title, year, MovieGenres(m.mid) genres, MovieDirectors(m.mid) directors, MovieWriters(m.mid) writers, synopsis, poster_url, AVG(rating) average, COUNT(rating) count FROM movies m INNER JOIN movie_ratings mr ON m.mid = mr.mid WHERE m.mid = 1 GROUP BY title, year, MovieGenres(m.mid), MovieDirectors(m.mid), MovieWriters(m.mid), synopsis, poster_url; But I don't really like that "huge" GROUP BY, is there a simpler way to do it?

    I want to develop a Windows application. Honestly I care little about cross-platforms for now (but still would be good) I want to use Ruby, since it has quite a simple syntax and is so.. well, simple and easy to learn. My application is like a "game level creator", where you can design your own level and then run it with another application which is a "game level player" by reading the project file created by the creator app. You get the idea. Now, I got a new PC and is completely clean. Absolutely no trace of my old Ruby experiments and fails. First of all, I will need to choose a GUI platform for my Ruby application! Can you recommend me one? I have heard of Shoes and Tk, but want to know what you think.

  • Ubuntu on Oracle VirtualBox: Shared folders

    I looked at this question, but it didn't help. I'm running Windows 7 as a host with Ubuntu 10.10 as a guest with VBox 4.0. I want to have a shared directory between the two. I have installed Guest Additions. I went to the VBox control panel in Windows, added a Shared Folder (sharename Shared_Folder), and chose "Auto Mount". A directory named "sf_Shared_Folder" appeared in /media on Ubuntu, but when I put files in that directory from an OS, I can't see them on the other one. I then tried to create a directory without automounting (sharename collectivefiles), and to run the following command: foo@foo-VirtualBox:~$ sudo mount -t vboxsf collectivefiles FileShare /sbin/mount.vboxsf: mounting failed with the error: No such device What is causing this error? I rebooted both the VM and VBox itself, but I'm still observing this.

    Dear programmers of StackOverflow, recently me and two of my friends from college started a software company. We are developing web-applications using GWT-Spring-Hibernate and other helper frameworks. In a couple of months, we managed to set up a stable back-end and produced some demo programs for CRM solutions. Our area of interest is CRM where we can combine the flexibility of our back-end with the slick looking GWT based GUIs. Unfortunately we live in a third world country (well, kind of two and a half :) and no one here gives our work enough credit, or really cares about the advantages of web-apps. We are stuck at the moment because our current clients do not want to pay that much money for just "putting their local app on the web". Since we can not find satisfying work here, we have decided to work online/international. I was wondering if you guys know a good freelance kind of sites where we can throw ourselves into the market.. Also a question from frustration, to those who are in the field or knowledgeable/interested about web based CRM, how much would you ask/pay for lets say a web app which will keep track of all the patients of a multi-branch clinic also allowing the patients to access to view their own records?   • Logging in "Java Library Code" libs for Android applications

    I follow the advice to implement Android device (not application!) independent library code for my Android Apps in a seperate "Java Library Code" project. This makes testing easier for me as I can use the standard maven project layout, Spring test support and Continuous Build systems the way I am used to. I do not want to mix this inside my Android App project although this might be possible. I now wonder how to implement logging in this library. As this library will be used on the Android device I would like to go with android.util.Log. I added the followind dependency to my project to get the missing Android packages/classes and dependencies: <dependency> <groupId>com.google.android</groupId> <artifactId>android</artifactId> <version>2.2.1</version> <scope>provided</scope> </dependency> But this library just contains stub method (similar to the android.jar inside the android-sdk), thus using android.util.Log results in java.lang.RuntimeException: Stub! when running my unit tests. How do I implement logging which works on the Android device but does not fail outside (I do not expect it to work, but it must not fail)?     Hello, I'm working on a project that requires the ability to let a user download a pdf from a static location on the server. I'm reading the instructions from this website, it's an old post and I notice they specify in an update that Microsoft's MVC framework has long since included and Action Result that allows the same functionality they discuss thus rendering it obsolete, I've looked a bit online but haven't been able to find any resources that discuss this built-in functionality. If anyone has any links or other information that discuss this it would be very helpful. Thanks.

  • Random number generation in MVC applications

    What is the correct way of generating random numbers in an ASP.NET MVC application if I need exactly one number per request? According to MSDN, in order to get randomness of sufficient quality, it is necessary to generate multiple numbers using a single System.Random object, created once. Since a new instance of a controller class is created for each request in MVC, I cannot use a private field initialized in the controller's constructor for the Random object. So in what part of the MVC app should I create and store the Random object? Currently I store it in a static field of the controller class and lazily initialize it in the action method that uses it: public class HomeController : Controller { ... private static Random random; ... public ActionResult Download() { ... if (random == null) random = new Random(); ... } } Since the "random" field can be accessed by multiple instances of the controller class, is it possible for its value to become corrupted if two instances attempt to initialize it simultaneously? And one more question: I know that the lifetime of statics is the lifetime of the application, but in case of an MVC app what is it? Is it from IIS startup till IIS shutdown?

    I've been trying to find resources and guidelines for implementing authentication and authorization in multiple layered architectures (C#), but haven't found any "best practices" or patterns to use. And I figured, that there must be some patterns for this, as it is a pretty important area? The application that we're developing, is layered traditionally, having data layer (Entity Framework 4) repositories domain layer service layer (can be WCF, with data transfer objects) multiple clients consuming the WCF service (ASP.NET [MVC], Silverlight, WPF) and clients accessing a service layer directly (no WCF) Are there books/articles/blogs that dig deeply into this area? Primarily about authorization such as handling multiple roles and attributes attached to users). It doesn’t have to be specific for the .NET Framework, but it would be preferred.

  • Qt applications on new Mac App Store

    I have a Qt app that runs on OS X that has potential to go on the new Mac App Store. I have reviewed the guidelines at https://developer.apple.com/appstore/mac/resources/approval/guidelines.html. I also saw a post here on SO about Java and the AppStore. Has anyone else considered this with their own apps and whether or not the Qt framework will run afoul of the App police? You still have to stay within the Apple HIG, i.e. no theming and cannot use private APIs. Still seems like a risky proposition over pure ObjC. Anyone else tempted?
