  • OpenGL ES, UIView and Status Bar mess

    I have iPhone (iPhoneOS 3.x) OpenGL ES app that: can be in landscape/portrait orientation can be with/without status bar shown I do this by changing status bar orientation and hidden state, then updating OpenGL view frame so it won't overlap status bar and setting projection matrix appropriately. OpenGL view is in portrait orientation at all time. View controller's shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation: method returns false always, so the status bar won't start autorotating when app is in landscape mode. The problem I have is that I want to use some other UIViews, like: UIWebView, MFMailComposeView, MPMediaPicker. I could show them as modals, but this this have some drawbacks: views will always show in portrait orientation, even if they support landscape orientation views will not autorotate, even if they support it What I do is I take OpenGL view of the window with removeFromSuperview, set transform to the other view so it will be in portrait/landscape orientation when it shows up and place the other view on the window with addSubview:. This works fine without the status bar, but with it there are some problems I cannot work out: MPMediaPicker is sized to fit under status bar, but it slides under it anyway MFMailComposeView does not show navigation bar until it autorotates on device orientation change Does anyone has an idea how can I get it to work?

    Hi all I've got a problem about onbeforeunload recently that I need to pop up a voting page if the user try closes their IE browser.And I did it by using <body onbeforeunload="makevote()"> And the main structure of makevote() in javascript as follows: function makevote() { comet.distruct(); if(csid != null && isvote == null) { window.event.returnValue = false window.event.returnValue='press “cancel” to vote please!' showComDiv(popvote,"popiframe",400,120,'your vote here','dovote()'); } } For last three months this voting function performed so ugly that I got only less than 8,000 votes from more than 4,50,000 vistors.I think the problem is, when the users try to close their browsers,the onbeforeunload property pops up a comfirm box which covered my voting box while most users click the OK button,which means close comfirming is done,as a habit.So my question is how can I control the comfirming box made by onbeforeunload myself? So far I can only define the message it shows.For example if I click the "OK" ,I'll go to the voting box instead of closing my IE.And if there's any other better way to do this?Help would be greatly appreciated!   • How to use JQUERY to filter table rows dynamically using multiple form inputs

    I'm displaying a table with multiple rows and columns. I'm using a JQUERY plugin called uiTableFilter which uses a text field input and filters (shows/hides) the table rows based on the input you provide. All you do is specify a column you want to filter on, and it will display only rows that have the text field input in that column. Simple and works fine. I want to add a SECOND text input field that will help me narrow the results down even further. So, for instance if I had a PETS table and one column was petType and one was petColor -- I could type in CAT into the first text field, to show ALL cats, and then in the 2nd text field, I could type black, and the resulting table would display only rows where BLACK CATS were found. Basically, a subset. If 10 rows are returned after applying one filter, the 2nd filter should only apply to THOSE 10 rows. I've tried LIVE and BIND, but not working. Can anyone shed some light on where I'm going wrong?   • How to add a scrollable NSTableView programmatically

    I'm trying to add a tableview to a view in code instead of using Interface Builder and unfortunately it's causing some problems =( Here's an example of how I'm doing it now. NSScrollView *scrollView = [[NSScrollView alloc] initWithFrame:someRect]; NSTableView *tableView = [[NSTableView alloc] initWithFrame: scrollView.bounds]; resultsTableView.dataSource = self; resultsScrollView.documentView = resultsTableView; [someView addSubview: scrollView]; So basically I'm just putting the tableView inside the scrollView (because that's what IB is doing) and then adding the latter as a subview of the someView. The result is that a tableView appears - but the no data is shown within the tableView. Debugging shows that the dataSource is being asked for how many rows are in the tableView but the method: tableView:objectValueForTableColumn:row: is never being called. I suspect that this is because of my way of creating the tableView. I've tried google but no luck and the "Introduction to Table Views Programming Guide" on macdevcenter wasn't helpful either. What am I missing? Thanks in advance...

On Windows 7, the same code, WaitForSingleObject returns straight away (with a return code of 0 indicating that the object signalled the requested state). Similarly, if I take it to the command line, on XP and Vista I can run start /wait rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL modem.cpl and it does not return control to the command prompt until the Control Panel window is closed, but on Windows 7 it returns immediately. Is this a change in RunDll32? I know MS made some changes to RunDll32 in Windows 7 for UAC, and it looks from these experiments as though one of those changes might have involved spawning an additional process to display the window, and allowing the originating process to exit. The only thing that makes me think this might not be the case is that using a process explorer that shows the creation and destruction of processes, I do not see anything additional being created beyond the called rundll32 process itself. Any other way I can solve this? I just don't want the function to return until the control panel window is closed.

  • AutoCompleteTextView not displaying result even when the ArrayAdapter is updated

    I'm trying to get an AutoCompleteTextView(ACTV) to display results I'm a getting from a network resource. I have set the completion-treshold to 2 and I can see that the request is fired when I enter to characters. The result I am getting is the correct one. Lets say I write "ca", and I get the result "car" as an autocompletion. I have a callback function which receives the result from an AsyncTask and puts the result into the ArrayAdapter. Then I call .showDropDown() on the ACTV and an empty dropdown is shown (half the size of a normal element). Then if I enter the last letter "r" and the ACTV shows "car", the dropdown is shown and the result is suddenly in the list. The same happens if I have entered two characters (which returns a valid result), and the remove the last letter. When the letter is removed, "car" is shown as an autocompletion value. Has anyone had this problem? It looks like the adapter is filled with the result, but the result does not show until the next action I do. I have also tried to run .notifyDataSetChanged() after I have added the result to the adapter, but that should not be needed, or?

    Below is the xml content generated by TFPT for the WIQL issued. When I try to import this XML into Excel 2007 XML source pane shows only "Id", "RefName" and "Value" as fields to be mapped. Whereas I would like to display System.Id, System.State, Microsoft.VSTS.Common.ResolvedDate, Microsoft.VSTS.Common.StateChangeDate as column headings and corresponding value as rows.   • Qt 4.x: how to implement drag-and-drop onto the desktop or into a folder?

    Hi all, I've written a little file-transfer application written in C++ using Qt 4.x ... it logs into a server, shows the user a list of files available on the server, and lets the user upload or download files. This all works fine; you can even drag a file in from the desktop (or from an open folder), and when you drop the file icon into the server-files-list-view, the dropped file gets uploaded to the server. Now I have a request for the opposite action as well... my users would like to be able to drag a file out of the server-files-list-view and onto the desktop, or into an open folder window, and have that file get downloaded into that location. That seems like a reasonable request, but I don't know how to implement it. Is there a way for a Qt application to find out the directory corresponding to where "drop event" occurred, when the icon was dropped onto the desktop or into an open folder window? Ideally this would be a Qt-based platform-neutral mechanism, but if that doesn't exist, then platform-specific mechanisms for MacOS/X and Windows (XP or higher) would suffice. Any ideas?

  • Exporting/Importing events to Outlook 2007 calendar - problem

    I work on a web app that involves scheduling. A user can view his schedule, and then download a meeting request file for a particular event. In Outlook 2003, simply opening this event would cause a meeting request to pop up and the user could accept, which would either add or update the event in their calendar. However, in Outlook 2007, the meeting request Accept function is disabled, and the reason given is that the user is the organizer and can't accept his own event request. The ICS file clearly shows that this is not the case. Has anyone experienced this same problem? Does anyone know how to work around it?   • Adobe AIR non-Administrator application installation/upgrade on Windows

    Is there any way to allow non-Administrator users to install, upgrade or uninstall an Adobe AIR application on Windows? I've made an Adobe AIR application and packaged it as a .air package using the standard AIR mechanism for creating deployment packages. If a normal or Power user tries to install this AIR application, the Application Event Log shows an error saying administrative rights are required. And even if the user elevates during installation, administrative rights are still required for an upgrade using the automated AIR upgrade system (since an upgrade is essentially, behind the scenes, an uninstallation of a .msi package followed by an installation of another .msi package). Is there any way around this? What I've tried so far is: Using the Group Policy editor, setting Windows Installer to elevate during installations. Doesn't work, since AIR attempts a "for all users" installation. Specifying My Documents as the installation directory. Doesn't work, since AIR attempts a "for all users" installation. Giving the user Modify access to the Program Files folder where the application would usually reside. Doesn't work, since this isn't a file permissions issue. Making the user a Power User. Doesn't work, since AIR attempts a "for all users" installation. I'm guessing that both installing and upgrading would work fine for a user if the AIR installer would attempt to make an "only for me" application installation instead of a "for all users" installation, and the user was a Power User, and possibly the application was installed to My Documents I'm also guessing that this problem doesn't exist on OSX and Linux, since they have more intuitive concepts for per-user application installations.

  • How can I check whether Exposé is being activated or not?

    Hi, I'm creating an application that emulates MacBook's multi-touch Trackpad. As you may know, on MacBook's trackpad if you swipe 4 fingers up, it triggers the Show Desktop. if you swipe 4 fingers down, it shows the Exposé. However, if the Show Desktop is being activated and you swipe 4 fingers down, it will come back to the normal mode. The same goes with the Exposé: if the Exposé is being activated and you swipe 4 fingers up, it will also come back to the normal mode. Here is the problem: I use the keyboard shortcut F3 to show the Exposé and F11 to show the Show Desktop. The problem is, when the Show Desktop is being activated, if I press F3, it will go straight to the Exposé. And when the Exposé is being activated, if I press F11 it will go straight to the Show Desktop. But I want it to behave like Trackpad, which I guess its code may look like this - FourFingersDidSwipeUp { if (isExposeBeingActivated() || isShowDesktopBeingActivated()) { pressKey("Esc"); } else { pressKey("F11"); } } But I don't know how to implement the "isExposeBeingActivated()" and "isShowDesktopBeingActivated()" methods. I've tried creating a window and check whether its size has changed (on assumption that if the Expose is being activated, its size should be smaller), but the system always returns the same size. I tried monitoring the background processes during the Expose, but nothing happened. Does anyknow have any suggestions on this? (I'm sorry if my English sounds weird.)

  • Header Setup in SOAP with ASP.NET 3.5 WCF

    I'm pretty new to SOAP so go easy on me. I'm trying to setup a SOAP service that accepts the following header format: <soap:Header> <wsse:Security> <wsse:UsernameToken wsu:Id='SecurityToken-securityToken'> <wsse:Username>Username</wsse:Username> <wsse:Password>Password</wsse:Password> <wsu:Created>Timestamp</wsu:Created> </wsse:UsernameToken> </wsse:Security> </soap:Header> The application I'm incorporating this service into is an ASP.NET 3.5 web application and I've already setup a SOAP endpoint using WCF. I've setup a basic service to make sure the WCF works and it works fine (disregarding the header). I heard that the above format follows WS-Security so I added WSHttpBinding in the web.config: <service name="Nexternal.Service.XMLTools.VNService" behaviorConfiguration="VNServiceBehavior"> <!--The first endpoint would be picked up from the confirg this shows how the config can be overriden with the service host--> <endpoint address="" binding="wsHttpBinding" contract="Nexternal.Service.XMLTools.IVNService"/> </service> I downloaded a test harness (soapUI) and pasted in a test message with the above header and it came back with a 400 Bad Request error. ...for what it's worth, I'm running Visual Studio 2008 using IIS7.   • Installing Epic (Eclipse Plugin) in Pulse Explorer

    I'm trying to install EPIC using the Pulse Explorer for Eclipse (as I'm rather fond of sharing profiles :). When I go to install the plugin under my account, I get asked for a login into http://e-p-i-c.sf.net. However, the Epic's team documentation doesn't mention anything about a login. Here's what I've done: Gone into Pulse and created a new profile based on Eclipse Classic. Navigated to Software, added the EPIC software site to list of public sites, and chosen to install it. Added Pulse item to profile. Run the installer. The error shows up while it's all downloading/installing. Login boxes start to appear for epic related components, and I don't have credentials to put in so all I can do is hit cancel. If I hit cancel, the process fails at the end with the generic error message: "an unexpected error occurred preparing to install and/or launch the selected profile". Bundles that are failing to download are: org.epic.debug org.epic.doc org.epic.lib org.epic.perleditor org.epic.regxp org.epic.source The component that's exploding is called: org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.repository.Credentials$LoginCancelledException I've had the same effect on Pulse 0.5.x and 0.6.x. No clue where to go from here. Might contact the EPIC and Pulse teams and ask them, but thought that I'd get a better response from here. I'm somewhat sure I'm doing something wrong.

  • How to handle HTML Strings in Cocoa Touch

    I'm using a RSS Reader and works fine when I tap the UITableViewCell to load the <link> either in a UIWebView or to open Safari on that link. But I really want to learn how to load the Topic content into the application instead showing the entire site or jump to Safari In the RSS feed per each <item> there is a <body> tag (and a <Description> that contains the same but encoded) that contains the topic content, like the image below shows: So, instead of catching the <link> I'm assigning the <body>. Problem is that it does not work correctly :-( for this example I only get the content until the first <br> nothing more. I'm using a NSString as I would use in C#, should I use any other object, is there a better object to use on such data? Should I use an UITextView to load this information (as it has scroll already) or I should use a UIWebView instead? Thank you.

  • Locking issues with replacing files on a website

    I want to replace existing files on an IIS website with updated versions. Say these files are large pdf documents, which can be accessed via hyperlinks. The site is up 24x7, so I'm concerned about locking issues when a file is being updated at exactly the same time that someone is trying to read the file. The files are updated using C# code run on the server. I can think of two options for opening the file for writing. Option 1) Open the file for writing, using FileShare.Read : using (FileStream stream = new FileStream(path, FileMode.Create, FileAccess.Write, FileShare.Read)) While this file is open, and a user requests the same file for reading in a web browser via a hyperlink, the document opens up as a blank page. Option 2) Open the file for writing using FileShare.None : using (FileStream stream = new FileStream(path, FileMode.Create, FileAccess.Write, FileShare.None)) While this file is open, and a user requests the same file for reading in a web browser via a hyperlink, the browser shows an error. In IE 8, you get HTTP 500, "The website cannot display the page", and in Firefox 3.5, you get : "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process." The browser behaviour kind of makes sense, and seem reasonable. I guess its highly unlikely that a user will attempt to read a file at exactly the same time you are updating it. It would be nice if somehow, the file update was atomic, like updating a database with SQL wrapped around a transaction. I'm wondering if you guys worry about this sort of thing, and prefer either of the above options, or even have other options of your own for updating files.

  • h2 (embedded mode ) database files problem

    There is a h2-database file in my src directory (Java, Eclipse): h2test.db The problem: starting the h2.jar from the command line (and thus the h2 browser interface on port 8082), I have created 2 tables, 'test1' and 'test2' in h2test.db and I have put some data in them; when trying to access them from java code (JDBC), it throws me "table not found exception". A "show tables" from the java code shows a resultset with 0 rows. Also, when creating a new table ('newtest') from the java code (CREATE TABLE ... etc), I cannot see it when starting the h2.jar browser interface afterwards; just the other two tables ('test1' and 'test2') are shown (but then the newly created table 'newtest' is accessible from the java code). I'm inexperienced with embedded databases; I believe I'm doing something fundamentally wrong here. My assumption is, that I'm accessing the same file - once from the java app, and once from the h2 console-browser interface. I cannot seem to understand it, what am I doing wrong here?

  • JSON.Net and Linq

    I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to linq and I'm working on a site that parses a json feed using json.net. The problem that I'm having is that I need to be able to pull multiple fields from the json feed and use them for a foreach block. The documentation for json.net only shows how to pull just one field. I've done a few variations after checking out the linq documentation, but I've not found anything that works best.   • Get data from database without refresh whole page

    Hello everybody. My project is about a school admin I have a page called : createClass.php, where user inserts grade, profile etc. When he press "submit" page called createdClass.php is loading. Inside this page I have all code which insert data into database and also an "if" structure which says : "Class already exists" if in database is another class with same specifications. Also in second page (createdClass.php) i have a small table which shows the place of each student. First time all cells are green (this means that place is free) and if i click one of them appear a popup window which let me to add info about student from that place. If a place is busy the cell will be red (take a look here : http://screencast.com/t/NzM2YzYxNjct). The big problem is that the cell will be red only after refresh the page (the place ask for data from database). If I press refresh appears "class already exists". To test the code i added in a comment all lines which verify and add respectively classroom . I think my problem can be solved with ajax. I'm waiting for an answer. Regards Stefan

But since the css selectors have the same css specificity the latest overrides the earlier defined rule. this is an example that shows my problem: .... <div class="red"> <div class="box">This should be red</div> <div class="yellow"> ... <div class="box">This should be yellow (nested in x levels under the div.yellow)</div> ... </div> .... and here my css .box { width: 100px; height: 100px; } .yellow { background-color: yellow; } .red { background-color: red; } the box should be listed somewhere, but as soon as it is a sub child of another color definition it should been overwritten. thanks for any help! //jim

    I'm following a tutorial on creating the NerdDinner using ASP.Net MVC. However, I'm using Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate edition and there was only MVC2 to choose from. So I've following the tutorial so far, and everything is really clicking and being really well explained, until this little hitch. The guide is asking me to create new methods on a Controller file like so: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Web; using System.Web.Mvc; namespace NerdDinner.Controllers { public class DinnersController : Controller { public void Index(){ Response.Write("<h1>Coming Soon: Dinners</h1>"); } public void Details(int id) { Response.Write("<h1>Details DinnerID: " + id + "</h1>"); } } } However, when I created the Controllers file, Visual Studio created an Index method already, but it looks vastly different to what the tutorial shows. Maybe this is the new way to do things using MVC2? using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Web; using System.Web.Mvc; namespace NerdDinner.Controllers { public class DinnersController : Controller { // // GET: /Dinners/ public ActionResult Index() { return View(); } } } My question is, how can I reproduce the Details and Index method (they're in MVC) to the MVC2 way?     I have downloaded php-sdk for using facebook in php. I also created facebook application in the facebook web page in order to get API key and secret key. When I run example.php and try to connect to facebook it shows me the following error: Configuration errors: To fix this error, please set your Connect URL in the application settings editor. Once it has been set, users will be redirected to that URL instead of this page after logging in. I am using this php-sdk in the localhost. I tried to assign localhost as Connect URL but facebook doesn't accept it. I have read about Cross Domain Communication Channel and think this is what I need. But I don't know how to use it. Anyone can help me to solve this problem please? Update Actually what I need is following. I have Web Application and need to connect to facebook and search for users in facebook who has specific(user will specify this) Likes and Interests. Any idea about solving my problem?

  • Architecting iPhone Views - seeking help on a specific issue + general advice

    Hi there, I am a web developer (rails, python) that is new to iPhone development. I've done some desktop development in the past within the MS environment (C#). I'm trying to build a really simple iPhone application and I am confused by the way that views work in general. If someone can provide advice for my particular problem, along with some resources where I can learn how to architect iPhone views in the future, that would be awesome. I feel like a lot of the Apple documentation that I've come across is too specific - I am lacking a fundamental understanding of how views work on the iPhone. My particular problem looks like this: I need one view that displays some downloaded text content. This is the view that shows when the app loads, and it is pretty straightforward. Then I need a settings area (I've already decided I don't want to use the iPhone settings area). The settings area main page will have some text fields on it. It will also have a 2-row grouped table. Each cell in that table will take you to another view which also has a grouped table used for multi-select. I suspect that I can reuse the same view for these two final "detailed setting" views. In summary: home page settings main page detailed setting 1 detailed setting 2 Any help and advice appreciated.

    Hi there, So i have this: <asp:LinkButton runat="server" id="lkbTomeChichi" class="modalInput contratacionVinculos" rel="#prueba" OnClick="PruebaBrava" >LinkPrueba</asp:LinkButton> <div id="prueba" class="simple_overlayFondoBlanco" style="margin: auto; z-index: 99;"> hola como está todo ;) </div> and i have this: <script type="text/javascript"> function pageLoad() { var triggers = $("a.modalInput").overlay({ // some expose tweaks suitable for modal dialogs expose: { color: '#333', loadSpeed: 200, opacity: 0.3, zIndex: 99 }, top: '25%', closeOnClick: true }); } </script> as you can see i'm using a LinkButton who transforms into an 'a' tag on rendering so jquery pageLoad function can use it to show an overlay. My problem is i need the 'OnClick="PruebaBrava' to execute before the overlay shows. If i use a button instead of a LinkButton it works perfectly but i need to use the linkbutton and with it that event is not firing. What can i do? Thankyou all very much for your answers ;)

I'm following the VendorSpecificType00 and SimpleUserClient examples and http://wagerlabs.com/writing-a-mac-osx-usb-device-driver-that-impl as an example. I built my kernel extension and it loads fine with kextload and it shows up in kextstat. The problem is that I can't locate it in my user space code.
