• PHP Get Shape Coordinates From Points

  Im sure if the title is exactly what I am trying to describe so sorry if it isnt. Ok here is what i am trying to do: What i want to do is create a function that you can enter unlimited ammount of coordinates ( the blue dots) and then it will create a shape like so and then return all coordinates the shape covers. Because this is for working with pixels, there will be no decimal coordinates. Something that can be used like so: print_r(get_coords(12,6, 23,13, 30,9, 37,24, 24,34, 25,24, 7,30, 6,15)); // ^ Will output an array of all x and y coordinates that the shape covers How would i go about doing something like this?

• Can I use string concatenation to define a class CONST in PHP?

  I know that you can create global constants in terms of each other using string concatenation: define('FOO', 'foo'); define('BAR', FOO.'bar'); echo BAR; will print 'foobar'. However, I'm getting an error trying to do the same using class constants. class foobar { const foo = 'foo'; const foo2 = self::foo; const bar = self::foo.'bar'; } foo2 is defined without issue, but declaring const bar will error out Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '.', expecting ',' or ';' I've also tried using functions like sprintf() but it doesn't like the left paren any more than the string concatenator '.'. So is there any way to create class constants in terms of each other in anything more than a trivial set case like foo2?

• Mongoose Not Creating Indexes

  I have been trying all afternoon to get my node.js application to create MongoDB indexes properly. I am using the Mongoose ODM and in my schema definition below I have the username field set to a unique index. The collection and document all get created properly, it's just the indexes that aren't working. All the documentation says that the ensureIndex command should be run at startup to create any indexes, but none are being made. I'm using MongoLab for hosting if that matters. I have also repeatedly dropped the collection. • How to list all items in custom taxonomy with a permanlink in Wordpress

  Hi, Not sure how to word this. I've set up a type in Wordpress called Products. I also have two taxonomies linked to Products called Brands and Categories. When you create a product you can set to which Brand and Category the product belong to. It works perfectly when using the type as permalink to list everything within a type http://sitename.com/products but I can't seem to get the taxonomies working in the same way, ie. list all the items within a taxonomy (like an archive, I suppose): http://sitename.com/brands http://sitename.com/categories Is this possible, and if so, what could I possibly be doing wrong? I would try and set up some rewrite rules in functions.php, but I don't know what the query string looks like if you want to list items in a taxonomy, and if this is even possible. If it helps, I'm using the plugins More Types and Ultimate Taxonomy Manager to create the types and taxonomies.

• Best way to reuse a Runnable

  I have a class that implements Runnable and am currently using an Executor as my thread pool to run tasks (indexing documents into Lucene). executor.execute(new LuceneDocIndexer(doc, writer)); My issue is that my Runnable class creates many Lucene Field objects and I would rather reuse them then create new ones every call. What's the best way to reuse these objects (Field objects are not thread safe so I cannot simple make them static) - should I create my own ThreadFactory? I notice that after a while the program starts to degrade drastically and the only thing I can think of is it's GC overhead. I am currently trying to profile the project to be sure this is even an issue - but for now lets just assume it is.

  I new to OLAP, and still not sure how to create a relationship between 2 or more entities. I am basing my cube on views. For simplicity sake let's call them like this: viewParent (ParentID PK) viewChild (ChildID PK, ParentID FK) these views have more fields, but they're not important for this question. in my data source, i defined a relationship between viewParent and viewChild using ParentID for the link. As for measures, i was forced to create separate measures for Parent and Child. in my MDX query however, the relationship does not seem to be enforced. If i select record count for parent, child, and add some filters for the parent, the child count is not reflecting it.. SELECT { [Measures].[ParentCount],[Measures].[ChildCount] } ON COLUMNS FROM [Cube] WHERE { ( {[Time].[Month].&[2011-06-01T00:00:00]} ,{[SomeDimension].&[Foo]} ) } the selected ParentCount is correct, but ChildCount is not affected by any of the filters (because they are parent filters). However, since i defined a relationship, how can i take advantage of that to filter children by parent filter?

  I am confused with the following sentence(with bold) from Microsoft about Session IDs. It seems to say the obvious, if we reuse a valid Session ID then we do not need to create a new Session ID. Am i missing something? What is reusing in this context? Using the Session ID as an identifier in database or etc is reusing or what? Therefore, you can reuse session IDs for several reasons.   Howdy - today a weird problem occured to me: I have a modle class in Django and added a custom property to it that shall not be saved into the database and therefore is not represent in the models structure: class Category(models.Model): groups = models.ManyToManyField(Group) title = defaultdict() Now, when I'm within the shell or writing a test and I do the following: c1 = Category.objects.create() c1.title['de'] = 'german title' print c1.title['de'] # prints "german title" c2 = Category.objects.create() print c2.title['de'] # prints "german title" <-- WTF? It seems that 'title' is kind of global. If I change title to a simple string it works as expected, so it has to do something with the dict?   I am working on a website that uses a remote websites database to check for authentication (they are both share some database tables, but are separate website...) Right now I check the username and password against the remote websites account / member table, if there is a match I create a session. Questions: Is this secure? On authenticated pages I just check if a session of a specific type exists.Is it possible for someone to create an empty session or something that could bypass this? Is it possible to use Forms authentication with this setup? Right now if a user is authenticated I just get an object back with the username, email and id.

  Hi. Suppose stackoverflow.com wanted to have an RSS feed per each tag. They would probably have requests like stackoverflow.com/rss?tag=aspnet to return appropriate RSS feeds. This is the easy part. Now when the user requested stackoverflow.com/rss?tag=aspnet he would see some XML. Instead it would be better to show a page where user can choose which RSS reader he wants to subscribe with (just like feedburner.com). My question is: is there any ready-made code (html+javascript) that I can copy-paste to create such a subscription page? Basically I want to copy feedburner.com's subscription page onto my own site. PS - I would be happy using feedburner.com, but it would require me to create a feed for each tag manually, which is impractical.

  I have this authnav='<li class="last"><a href="auth/login">login</a></li>'+ '<li><a href="auth/create_account">create account</a></li>'; It works fine in Firefox, but Internet Explorer gives me an "Error: Object doesn't support this property or method" I'm mystified - what could be going on here?   I'm doing a windows form and would like an audit task to happen every 30 seconds. This audit is essentially checking a series of services on remote computers and reporting back into a richtextbox the status. Current I have this running in an endless background thread and using an invoker to update the richtextbox in the main form. Is this best practice? If I made an endless loop in my main form that would prevent any of my buttons from working, correct? I'm just curious if every time I want to create a periodic audit check I have to create a new thread which checks the status or file or what have you?

  Created One Trigger in Oracle.. SQL> CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER student_after_insert 2 AFTER INSERT 3 ON student 4 FOR EACH ROW 5 BEGIN 6 @hello.pl 9 END student_after_insert; 10 / Contents of hello.pl are:- BEGIN DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('hello world'); END; And.. the result is pretty good, as the content of hello.pl is displayed on screen while inserting a record.. Now, the query is -- When i change the content of the hello.pl file, after exiting from oracle, and then logging again, It doesn't shows the updated contents, instead it shows the previous content.. I noticed that, if i drop the trigger and create it again, then it is working fine.. Why is it happening so.. And what is the solution to this problem..

Here is the line that's supposed to be a walkthrough but is currently tormenting me: hash = hashlib.md5(inputstring).digest() After generating a similar MD5 hash in c# It is absolutely vital that I create a similar hash string as the original python program or my whole application will fail. My confusion lies in which encoding to use when converting to string in c# i.e ?Encoding enc = new ?Encoding(); string Hash =enc.GetString(HashBytes); //HashBytes is my generated hash Because I am unable to create two similar hashes when using Encoding.Default i.e string Hash = Encoding.Default.GetString(HashBytes); So I'm thinking knowing the deafult hash.digest() encoding for python would help

• Launching a Facebook page from an iPhone app via QR code

  I'm trying to create a QR code that launches a Facebook page from the app, rather than the browser on both Android and iOS. Creating the code with fb://page/<page id>, works perfectly on an Android. This was also supposed to work with iOS's Facebook app, but I think since Facebook updated their app recently from a HTML5 version to a fully native iOS app, that functionality has stopped working. It indeed opens the Facebook app, but it does not go to the page. Has anyone else seen this happen since the app was updated a few weeks ago? And what string would I have to use to create a working QR Code for iOS's Facebook app?
