I want to build a website where you can search by entering the postcode (UK). I know that RoyalMail owns the Database to do this (it's only very expensive, $100K). What are my options?
I have the following code:
$query = "select * from customer where Surname like \"%$trimmed%\" OR TitleName like \"%$trimmed%\" OR PostCode like \"%$trimmed%\"
order by Surname";
However, I have another table which I want to search from with the same paramaters(variables) as that. I know that something like "select * from customer, othertable" might not be possible, Is there a way to do it?
Is it possible in Android to programmatically send an email using the phone's associated GMail credentials? I can send an email when I explicitly provide the username and password, but I was hoping to leverage the Google account already associated with the phone. Note that I don't need to actually access the username or password; I just want to leverage this information indirectly to send email.

I'm being asked to display a binary search tree in sorted order. The nodes of the tree contain strings.
I'm not exactly sure what the best way is to attack this problem. Should I be traversing the tree and displaying as I go? Should I flatten the tree into an array and then use a sorting algorithm before I display?
I'm not looking for the actual code, just a guide where to go next.
I have text that looks like:
My name is (Richard) and I cannot do
[whatever (Jack) can't do] and
(Robert) is the same way [unlike
(Betty)] thanks (Jill)
The goal is to search using a regular expression to find all parenthesized names that occur anywhere in the text BUT in-between any brackets.
So in the text above, the result I am looking for is:
Richard
Robert
Jill
hi friends
I use the following command to find under /var some param in my script
grep -R "param" /var/* 2/dev/null |grep -wq "param"
my problem is that: after grep find the param in file
grep continue to search until all searches under /var/* will completed
How to perform stop immediately after grep match the param word
For example when I run the:
grep -R "param" /var/* 2/dev/null |grep -wq "param"
grep find the param after one second.
But grep continue to sears other same param and its take almost 30 seconds
How to stop the grep immediately after param match?
THX

dojo's Theme Tester is Showing theme claro as one available theme in http://archive.dojotoolkit.org/dojo-2010-04-12/dojotoolkit/dijit/themes/themeTester.html?theme=claro
But claro is not accessible from Google CDN.
I've also tried to use claro from the same place where the ThemeTester is pulling. But layout doesn't look the same. rather it looks broken. However my same code works with other themes
Say I want to look for open source iphone/Android tower defense game on sourceforge/google code/git hub. Directly searching by these keywords seems not easily getting desired result. Is there any way to search project on these sites? Thanks.
I am messing around with one of my databases.. is there away for me to search for a string in ALL the tables.. and replace it with another everywhere it occurs?
I am looking for SQL
Short of SQL-dumping my entire database to text and searching that, is there a way to search for a specific substring in all tables of a MySQL database if you are not sure which table/record/field that substring actually occurs?
Hello, whenever we go to Google Page and click on the "more", a menu will be dropped down. I would like to have the following effect on my web site too. May I know which JavaScript library can help me to achieve the similar effect?
I would like to know as a newbie programmer what the benefits are of using for example googlesearch API or newest buzz API for data content gathering instead of screen scraping; obviously apart from the legal aspects.
I just downloaded the Google Collections sources and imported them into a new Eclipse project with JDK 1.6.
They don't compile for a couple of reasons:
javax.annotation.Nullable can not be found
javax.annotation.ParametersAreNonnullByDefault can not be found
Cannot reduce the visibility of the inherited method #createCollection() from AbstractMultimap
+ 11 similar ones
Name clash: The method forcePut(K, V) of type AbstractBiMap has the same erasure as forcePut(Object, Object) of type BiMap but does not override it
+ 2 similar ones
What am I missing?
I also wonder if unit tests for these collections are available to the public.
Lets say I have an Android app that uses Google Maps and GPS.Uses custom views and timers.
How much time will it require to develop it for Blackberry?
What changes will be required? Can the UI be reused?
I am totally new to Blackberry, though I know Java.
Please help me estimate the time.
Is there any URL from google maps, that returns me the latitude and longitude of an address.
i want to use these lat and long details in iPhone Map kit to plot some information.
The screen reader (JAWS) is able to read the textfield in flash on Google's Chrome but not in Internet Explorer 8. I'm using the latest version of swfobject.
Actually I want to serialize my data using Google's java implementation and then deserialize using C# implementation?
I have chosen portobuf-net as it seems to be more stable (porto# is still v0.9 or I would have gone for it). Before I start working on it I wanted to be sure that I can achieve this (serializing data using java implementation and deserializing it using potobuf-net). Or is there any list of methods that are specific to portobuf-net implementation?
Hey guys. I'm a CSS newbie and I was wondering how websites like bing.com or wolframalpha.com create their search buttons inside of of the text field? If you go to each website, you can see clearly what I mean.
I have been playing around recently with jqgrid and am at loss on how to implement search in my controller using PHP (Zend).
I came across a post that is quite similar to the answer am looking for but what I need is the PHP version not ASP.NET.
Does anybody have any advice, experience, suggestions? I'm pretty
comfortable with Google plugin - what would make me change to MOTODEV?
Needless to say - I will download and play with it but I'm also
interested in fellow developer's feedback.
