  • How to use reflection to get a default constructor?

    - by Qwertie
I am writing a library that generates derived classes of abstract classes dynamically at runtime. The constructor of the derived class needs a MethodInfo of the base class constructor so that it can invoke it. However, for some reason Type.GetConstructor() returns null. For example: abstract class Test { public abstract void F(); } public static void Main(string[] args) { ConstructorInfo constructor = typeof(Test).GetConstructor( BindingFlags.NonPublic | BindingFlags.Public, null, System.Type.EmptyTypes, null); // returns null! } Note that GetConstructor returns null even if I explicitly declare a constructor in Test, and even if Test is not abstract.

  • How to automatically insert a class notation using eclipse templates?

    - by João Paulo G. Piccinini
Does anybody know how to insert a "@RunWith anotation" above the class signature, using eclipse templates? Ex.: @RunWith(Parameterized.class) public class MyClassTest { ... @Parameters public static Collection<Object[]> parameters() { List<Object[]> list = new ArrayList<Object[]>(); list.add(new Object[] { "mind!", "find!" }); list.add(new Object[] { "misunderstood", "understood" }); return list; } ... } __ Template: // TODO: move this '@RunWith(Parameterized.class)' to class anotation @Parameters public static Collection<Object[]> parameters() { ${type:elemType(collection)}<Object[]> parametersList = new ${type:elemType(collection)}<Object[]>(); ${cursor}// TODO: populate collection return parametersList; } __ Thanks for the help!

  • Dynamic data-entry value store

    - by simendsjo
I'm creating a data-entry application where users are allowed to create the entry schema. My first version of this just created a single table per entry schema with each entry spanning a single or multiple columns (for complex types) with the appropriate data type. This allowed for "fast" querying (on small datasets as I didn't index all columns) and simple synchronization where the data-entry was distributed on several databases. I'm not quite happy with this solution though; the only positive thing is the simplicity... I can only store a fixed number of columns. I need to create indexes on all columns. I need to recreate the table on schema changes. Some of my key design criterias are: Very fast querying (Using a simple domain specific query language) Writes doesn't have to be fast Many concurrent users Schemas will change often Schemas might contain many thousand columns The data-entries might be distributed and needs syncronization. Preferable MySQL and SQLite - Databases like DB2 and Oracle is out of the question. Using .Net/Mono I've been thinking of a couple of possible designs, but none of them seems like a good choice. Solution 1: Union like table containing a Type column and one nullable column per type. This avoids joins, but will definitly use a lot of space. Solution 2: Key/value store. All values are stored as string and converted when needed. Also use a lot of space, and of course, I hate having to convert everything to string. Solution 3: Use an xml database or store values as xml. Without any experience I would think this is quite slow (at least for the relational model unless there is some very good xpath support). I also would like to avoid an xml database as other parts of the application fits better as a relational model, and being able to join the data is helpful. I cannot help to think that someone has solved (some of) this already, but I'm unable to find anything. Not quite sure what to search for either... I know market research is doing something like this for their questionnaires, but there are few open source implementations, and the ones I've found doesn't quite fit the bill. PSPP has much of the logic I'm thinking of; primitive column types, many columns, many rows, fast querying and merging. Too bad it doesn't work against a database.. And of course... I don't need 99% of the provided functionality, but a lot of stuff not included. I'm not sure this is the right place to ask such a design related question, but I hope someone here has some tips, know of any existing work, or can point me to a better place to ask such a question. Thanks in advance!

  • Display value of a django form field in a template?

    - by Eran Kampf
I have a form with an email property. When using {{ form.email }} in case of some validation error, django still renders the previous value in the input tag's value attribute: <input type="text" id="id_email" maxlength="75" class="required" value="[email protected]" name="email"> I want to render the input tag myself (to add some javascript code and an error class in case of an error). For example this is my template instead of {{ form.email }}: <input type="text" autocomplete="on" id="id_email" name="email" class="email {% if form.email.errors %}error{% endif %}"> However this does not display the errorneous value ("[email protected]" in this example) to the user. How do I get the field's value in the template?

  • C#: Hook up all events from object in single statement.

    - by David
In my domain layer all domain objects emit events (of type InvalidDomainObjectEventHandler) to indicate invalid state when the IsValid property is called. On an aspx codebehind, I have to manually wire up the events for the domain object like this: _purchaseOrder.AmountIsNull += new DomainObject.InvalidDomainObjectEventHandler(HandleDomainObjectEvent); _purchaseOrder.NoReason += new DomainObject.InvalidDomainObjectEventHandler(HandleDomainObjectEvent); _purchaseOrder.NoSupplier += new DomainObject.InvalidDomainObjectEventHandler(HandleDomainObjectEvent); _purchaseOrder.BothNewAndExistingSupplier += new DomainObject.InvalidDomainObjectEventHandler(HandleDomainObjectEvent); Note that the same method is called in each case since the InvalidDomainobjectEventArgs class contains the message to display. Is there any way I can write a single statement to wire up all events of type InvalidDomainObjectEventHandler in one go? Thanks David

  • Print a bitmap without printing a sprite?

    - by Carlos Barbosa
Following up from: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3021557/as3-printing-problem-blanks-swf-after-print-or-cancel I am trying to comeup with a function to print without creating a sprite, because that's what it seems to be causing my problem: public function printScreen():void { var pJob:PrintJob = new PrintJob(); var options:PrintJobOptions = new PrintJobOptions(); options.printAsBitmap = true; var bitmapData:BitmapData = new BitmapData(root.width, root.height); bitmapData.draw(root); var printThis:Bitmap = new Bitmap(bitmapData); try { pJob.start(); pJob.addPage(printThis, null, options); pJob.send(); } catch(e:Error) { trace("Error Printing") } } This is coming up with an: Error: Description Implicit coercion of a value of type flash.display:Bitmap to an unrelated type flash.display:Sprite. So how do you print a bitmap without creating a Sprite?

  • How to detect an overflow in C++ ?

    - by Tim
Hi, I just wonder if there is some convenient way to detect if overflow happens to any variable of any default data type used in a C++ program during runtime? By convenient, I mean no need to write code to follow each variable if it is in the range of its data type every time its value changes. Or if it is impossible to achieve this, how would you do? For example, float f1=FLT_MAX+1; cout << f1 << endl; doesn't give any error or warning in either compilation with "gcc -W -Wall" or running. Thanks and regards!

  • How to save some values from an array in a controller in Rails?

    - by Alfred Nerstu
    I've got a links array that I'm saving to a database. The problem is that the records aren't saved in the order of the array ie links[1] is saved before links[2] and so on... This is a example from the view file: <p> <label for="links_9_label">Label</label> <input id="links_9_name" name="links[9][name]" size="30" type="text" /> <input id="links_9_url" name="links[9][url]" size="30" type="text" /> </p> And this is my controller: def create @links = params[:links].values.collect { |link| @user.links.new(link) } respond_to do |format| if @links.all?(&:valid?) @links.each(&:save!) flash[:notice] = 'Links were successfully created.' format.html { redirect_to(links_url) } else format.html { render :action => "new" } end end end Thanks in advance!   • Embedded strongly-typed views with ASP.NET MVC

    - by Brian Vallelunga
I'm working on a plugin-type of system for ASP.NET MVC that loads views from an embedded assembly. I have created a VirtualPathProvider that does the work of retrieving out of the assembly. Everything is working fine except for strongly-typed views. Whenever I try to load one of those, I get an exception of: Could not load type 'System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage'. The problem is that there is no Web.config file under the Views folder. Well, actually there is, but the system doesn't seem to want to read the embedded version. If I manually create the file under the corresponding directory in the web app, everything is fine. This isn't an acceptable workaround however, as each plugin would need its own file in its own specific directory. Does anyone know how I might get ASP to read the embedded Web.config file? Thanks, Brian

  • Python code formatting

    - by Curious2learn
In response to another question of mine, someone suggested that I avoid long lines in the code and to use PEP-8 rules when writing Python code. One of the PEP-8 rules suggested avoiding lines which are longer than 80 characters. I changed a lot of my code to comply with this requirement without any problems. However, changing the following line in the manner shown below breaks the code. Any ideas why? Does it have to do with the fact that what follows return command has to be in a single line? The line longer that 80 characters: def __str__(self): return "Car Type \n"+"mpg: %.1f \n" % self.mpg + "hp: %.2f \n" %(self.hp) + "pc: %i \n" %self.pc + "unit cost: $%.2f \n" %(self.cost) + "price: $%.2f "%(self.price) The line changed by using Enter key and Spaces as necessary: def __str__(self): return "Car Type \n"+"mpg: %.1f \n" % self.mpg + "hp: %.2f \n" %(self.hp) + "pc: %i \n" %self.pc + "unit cost: $%.2f \n" %(self.cost) + "price: $%.2f "%(self.price)

  • Creating a proper CMS thoughts

    - by dallasclark
I'm just about to expand the functionality of our own CMS but was thinking of restructuring the database to make it simpler to add/edit data types and values. Currently, the CMS is quite flat - the CMS requires a field in the database for every type of stored value. The first option that comes to mind is simply a table which keeps the data types (ie: Address 1, Suburb, Email Address etc) and another table which holds values for each of these data types. Just like how Wordpress keeps values in the 'options' table, serialize would be used to store an array of values. The second option is how Drupal works, the CMS creates tables for every data type. Unlike Wordpress, this can be a bit of an overkill but really useful for SQL queries when ordering and grouping by a particular value. What's everyone's thoughts?

  • Using jQuery to echo text

    - by susmits
Is it possible to use jQuery to echo text in place of a script tag? More precisely, is there a way to accomplish <script type="text/javascript"> document.write("foo"); </script> ... without the use of document.write? I am not happy about using document.write after reading this. I am aware that I could alternatively do this: <span id="container"></span> <script type="text/javascript"> $("#container").text("foo"); </script> However, I'm interested to see if there's a way to do it without using a container element, preferably using jQuery. Thanks in advance!

  • Activator.CreateInstance(string) and Activator.CreateInstance<T>() difference

    - by Juan Manuel Formoso
No, this is not a question about generics. I have a Factory pattern with several classes with internal constructors (I don't want them being instantiated if not through the factory). My problem is that CreateInstance fails with a "No parameterless constructor defined for this object" error unless I pass "true" on the non-public parameter. Example // Fails Activator.CreateInstance(type); // Works Activator.CreateInstance(type, true); I wanted to make the factory generic to make it a little simpler, like this: public class GenericFactory<T> where T : MyAbstractType { public static T GetInstance() { return Activator.CreateInstance<T>(); } } However, I was unable to find how to pass that "true" parameter for it to accept non-public constructors (internal). Did I miss something or it isn't possible?

  • Would dynamically created JavaScript files be cached?

    - by venksster
So my application uses a LOT of js files. thats a lot of http requests. I decided to combine them dynamically at the server in packs of 3-4 files clubbed by functionality. My client side request is: ...script type="text/javascript" src="http://mydomain.com/core-js.php" ... My server side does: --core-js.php-- header("Content-type: application/x-javascript"); include_once('file1.js'); include_once('file2.js'); include_once('file3.js'); include_once('file4.js'); I am setting a far future expire header on core-js.php. My question is, would core-js.php be cached at the client side? If it would be, could someone please explain how? Thanks!

  • Drupal 6: Taxonomy splot up in managed fields?

    - by Ardi Coetzee
So you have two taxonomies, namely: "Business Type" and "Location" This is assigned to a node called BUSINESS. In effect, when the user creates a BUSINESS node, her has to choose for example, location "New York" and type "Information Services". My problem is when: a) Capturing the taxonomy, and b) Displaying the taxonomy I want the two terms to be separated from each other. I.e. I want to be able to move the two terms individual positions in the MANAGE FIELDS view, so that they can be grouped or placed seperately. Currently, Drupal only allows one entry, called "TAXONOMY" which is effectively the two terms next to each other. This is what I have: This is what I want: Bare in mind, I need to be able to use this with Hierarchical Select, which means Content Taxonomy is not an option.

I believe it closes correctly the problem is that when I open the first link all items open. <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Bid Items</title> <link href="bid.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <script src="jquerry/js/jquery.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $('#showhideconent').hide(); $('a').click(function(){ $('#showhideconent').show('slow'); }); $('a#close').click(function(){ $('#showhideconent').hide('slow'); }) }); $(document).ready(function(){ $('#showhideconent2').hide(); $('a').click(function(){ $('#showhideconent2').show('slow'); }); $('a#close2').click(function(){ $('#showhideconent2').hide('slow'); }) }); $(document).ready(function(){ $('#showhideconent3').hide(); $('a').click(function(){ $('#showhideconent3').show('slow'); }); $('a#close3').click(function(){ $('#showhideconent3').hide('slow'); }) }); $(document).ready(function(){ $('#showhideconent4').hide(); $('a').click(function(){ $('#showhideconent4').show('slow'); }); $('a#close4').click(function(){ $('#showhideconent4').hide('slow'); }) }); </script> </head> <body class="oneColElsCtr" onload="MM_preloadImages('Assignment4b.jpg')"> <div id="container"> <div id="mainContent"> <h1>Bid Page</h1> <h1>Coke Memorbila</h1> <a href="#" id="click">Amber Bottle 1914</a> <div id="box" align="center"> <div id="showhideconent"> <p><a href="coke/Amber1914.shtml"><img src="amber1914.jpg" width="200" height="200" alt="Amber Coke" /></a></p> <p><a href="#" id="close">Close</a> </p> </div> </div> <a href="#" id="click">Amber Bottle 1915</a> <div id="box" align="center"> <div id="showhideconent2"> <p><a href="coke/Amber1915.shtml"><img src="coke/Amber1914.shtml" width="200" height="200" alt="Amber Bottle 1915" /></a></p> <p><a href="#" id="close2">Close</a> </p> </div> </div> <a href="#" id="click">Green 1929</a> <div id="box" align="center"> <div id="showhideconent3"> <p><a href="coke/green1929.shtml"><img src="green1929.jpg" width="200" height="200" alt="Green 1929" /></a></p> <p><a href="#" id="close3">Close</a> </p> </div> </div> <a href="#" id="click">1970s Cans</a> <div id="box" align="center"> <div id="showhideconent4"> <p><a href="coke/tincans.shtml"><img src="coke_tincan.jpg" width="200" height="200" alt="Tin Cans" /></a></p> <p><a href="#" id="close4">Close</a> </p> </div> </div> </body> </html>

  • Grouping php array items based on user and created time

    - by Jim
This is an array of objects showing a user uploading photos: Array ( [12] => stdClass Object ( [type] => photo [created] => 2010-05-14 23:36:41 [user] => stdClass Object ( [id] => 760 [username] => mrsmith ) [photo] => stdClass Object ( [id] => 4181 ) ) [44] => stdClass Object ( [type] => photo [created] => 2010-05-14 23:37:15 [user] => stdClass Object ( [id] => 760 [username] => mrsmith ) [photo] => stdClass Object ( [id] => 4180 ) ) ) However instead of showing: mr smith uploaded one photo mr smith uploaded one photo I'd like to display: mr smith uploaded two photos by grouping similar items, grouping by user ID and them having added them within, let's say 15 minutes of each other. So I'd like to get the array in this sort of shape: Array ( [12] => stdClass Object ( [type] => photo [created] => 2010-05-14 23:36:41 [user] => stdClass Object ( [id] => 760 [username] => mrsmith ) [photos] => Array ( [0] => stdClass Object ( [id] => 4181 ) [1] => stdClass Object ( [id] => 4180 ) ) ) ) preserving the first item of the group and it's created time, and supplementing it with any other groupable photos and then unsetting any items that were grouped (so the final array doesn't have key 44 anymore as it was grouped in with 12). The array contains other actions than just photos, hence the original keys of 12 and 44. I just can't figure out a way to do this efficiently. I used to use MySQL and PHP to do this but am trying to just use pure PHP for caching reasons. Can anyone shed any insights? I thought about going through each item and seeing if I can group it with the previous one in the array but the previous one might not necessarily be relevant or even a photo. I've got total brain freeze :(

  • How can I programatically convert SQL data-types to .Net data-types?

    - by Simon
Can anyone show me a way of converting SQL Server data-types (varchar for example) to .Net data-types (String for example). I'm assuming that automatic conversion is not possible? I have an 'EntityProperty' object and would like it to have an appropriate 'Type' property (string, decimal, int32 etc), at the moment this property is just a string - 'int32' for example. A little background: I'm using SQL DMO in an internal code generation app to query a database and generate a stored procedure based DAL from the database. Being an internal app I can take quite a few shortcuts and make quite a few assumptions. To get the app working at the moment this data-type conversion is handled by a Select Case statement which just converts the types to strings and generates a set of properties based on these strings but I would prefer a little more flexibility in being able to handle the types (use of TypeOf etc). Anyone worked on something similar? I know EF, nHibernate, Subsonic etc could do all this for me but in this case, for various reasons, I am having to roll my own. :)
