  • Adding a Taxonomy Filter to a Custom Post Type

    There is an amazing conversation from about two years ago on the Wordpress Answer site where a number of people came up with good solutions for adding a taxonomy filter to the admin screen for your custom post types (see URL for screen I'm referring to): http://[yoursite.com]/wp-admin/edit.php?s&post_status=all&post_type=[post-type] Anyway, I loved Michael's awesome contribution but in the end used Somatic's implementation with the hierarchy option from Manny. I wrapped it in a class - cuz that's how I like to do things -- and it ALMOST works. The dropdown appears but the values in the dropdown are all looking in the $_GET property for the taxonomies slug-name that you are filtering by. For some reason I don't get anything. I looked at the HTML of the dropdown and it appears ok to me. Here's a quick screen shot for some context: You can tell from this that my post-type is called "exercise" and that the Taxonomy I'm trying to use as a filter is "actions". Here then is the HTML surrounding the dropdown list: <select name="actions" id="actions" class="postform"> <option value="">Show all Actions</option> <option value="ate-dinner">Ate dinner(1)</option> <option value="went-running">Went running(1)</option> </select> I have also confirmed that all of the form elements are within the part of the DOM. And yet if I choose "Went running" and click on the filter button the URL query string comes back without ANY reference to what i've picked. More explicitly, the page first loads with the following URL: /wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=exercise and after pressing the filter button while having picked "Went Running" as an option from the actions filter: /wp-admin/edit.php?s&post_status=all&post_type=exercise&action=-1&m=0&actions&paged=1&mode=list&action2=-1 actually you can see a reference to an "actions" variable but it's set to nothing and as I now look in detail it appears that the moment I hit "filter" on the page it resets the filter dropdown to the default "Show All Actions". Can anyone help me with this?

  • Trouble passing JSP values to ActionForm (Struts)

    Hi, I am a newbie to Struts and have inherited a problem. I am trying to pass 3 values contained in the same table cell from a JSP to my ActionForm class. The first value (and others in the JSP) work fine, but for some reason the other two do not. I have the appropriate getters and setters, but only the first (newrecnum) shows up, the other two are null. Is there a limitation to only pass the first value? Or is there something else wrong?   • Can I store SQL Server sort order in a variable?

    I have the following SQL within a stored procedure. Is there a way to remove the IF statement and pass the 'ASC'/'DESC' option as a variable? I know I could do the query a number of different ways, or return a table and sort it externally etc. I would just like to know if I can avoid duplicating the CASE statement.   • Merge Multple Worksheets From Multple Workbooks

    Hi, I have found multiple posts on merging data but I am still running into some problems. I have multiple files with multiple sheets. Example 2007-01.xls...2007-12.xls in each of these files are daily data on sheets labeled 01, 02, 03 ..... There are other sheets in the file so I can't just loop through all worksheets. I need to combine the daily data into monthly data, then all of the monthly data points into yearly. On the monthly data I need it to be added to the bottom of the page.   • Escaping colons in hibernate createSQLQuery

    I am confused on how I can create an SQL statement containing colons. I am trying to create a view and I am using (notice the double colons): create view MyView as ( SELECT tableA.colA as colA, tableB.colB as colB, round(tableB.colD / 1024)::numeric, 2) as calcValue, FROM tableA, tableB WHERE tableA.colC = 'someValue' ); This is a postgres query and I am forced to use the double colons (::) in order to correctly run the statement. I then pass the above statement through: s.createSQLQuery(myQuery).executeUpdate(); and I get a: Exception in thread "main" org.hibernate.exception.DataException: \ could not execute native bulk manipulation query at org.hibernate.exception.SQLStateConverter.convert(\ SQLStateConverter.java:102) ... more stacktrace... with an output of my above statement changed as (notice the question mark): create view MyView as ( SELECT tableA.colA as colA, tableB.colB as colB, round(tableB.colD / 1024)?, 2) as calcValue, FROM tableA, tableB WHERE tableA.colC = 'someValue' ); Obviously, hibernate confuses my colons with named parameters. Is there a way to escape the colons (a google suggestion that mentions that a single colon is escaped as a double colon does NOT work) or another way of running this statement? Thanks.

    ok im gonna try my best to explain my problem i have this program where u can select 5 balls when u select one you can take it with you while you have the mouse button pressed and its within the ball radius.     Hi, I have a dvd copied in my hard drive. It has a folder called video_ts. I am planning to run VLC player to play it. i was wondering how can I play this dvd using c#. I do not want to use a activex control inside c#. All I need to do is run the vlc.exe using process. I have already done that. But how do I select a specific file from the code that will start playig in the vlc player. My code is.   • How should I handle this Optimistic Concurrency error in this Entity Framework code, I have?

    Hi folks, I have the following pseduo code in some Repository Pattern project that uses EF4. public void Delete(int someId) { // 1. Load the entity for that Id. If there is none, then null. // 2. If entity != null, then DeleteObject(..); } Pretty simple but I'm getting a run-time error:- ConcurrencyException: Store, Update, Insert or Delete statement affected an unexpected number of rows (0). Now, this is what is happening :- Two instances of EF4 are running inthe app at the same time. Instance A calls delete. Instance B calls delete a nano second later. Instance A loads the entity. Instance B also loads the entity. Instance A now deletes that entity - cool bananas. Instance B tries to delete the entity, but it's already gone. As such, the no-count or what not is 0, when it expected 1 .. or something like that. Basically, it figured out that the item it is suppose to delete, didn't delete (because it happened a split sec ago). I'm not sure if this is like a race-condition or something. Anyways, is there any tricks I can do here so the 2nd call doesn't crash? I could make it into a stored procedure.. but I'm hoping to avoid that right now. Any ideas? I'm wondering If it's possible to lock that row (and that row only) when the select is called ... forcing Instance B to wait until the row lock has been relased. By that time, the row is deleted, so when Instance B does it's select, the data is not there .. so it will never delete.

  • Windows Mobile : How to bind dropdown's selectedvalue to a column in table A and the list data to a

    Hi, I am trying to learn the basics of Windows Mobile development against SQL CE and have come across a basic problem. I have two tables. One called Customers that stores customer info and has an identity column called ID as the primary key. The other table is called Orders which has a column called CustomerID (the FK constraint is present). I have added a DataSet to the project that contains both tables and have autogenerated the edit/view forms. This has produced a text control for the CustomerID column in the Order table for the new/edit form and I deleted it and replaced it with a dropdown list. Then, using the 'Advanced' databinding options (in Properties) I set the datasource of the list to the Customers table setting the value to the ID field and the text to the CustomerName field. I then set the SelectedValue of the list box to the CustomerID field of the Orders dataset. So far so good. When I run the app in the emulator and view the 'New' form for Orders the Customer dropdown is indeed populated with a list of customer names and I can select one and happily create a new order successfully. This is confirmed when I see the order appear in the Orders Grid form. However, when I then click on the order in the grid and then select 'Edit' the order loads but the dropdown always shows the first customer in the list and doesn't seem to bind the SelectedValue to the Orders dataset CustomerID field. Now I am an ASP.NET guy and normally hand craft the DAL and it's binding to the UI so I'm not entirely sure where to look to investigate what is going wrong here as this is all generated code. I am sure it is something very trivial but any pointers would be appreciated. My gut feeling is that the SelectedValue and the Customers.CustomerID values do not match for some reason?   • How to preserve order of temp table rows when inner joined with another table?

    Does an SQL Server "join" preserve any kind of row order consistently (i.e. that of the left table or that of the right table)? Psuedocode: create table #p (personid bigint); foreach (id in personid_list) insert into #p (personid) values (id) select id from users inner join #p on users.personid = #p.id Suppose I have a list of IDs that correspond to person entries. Each of those IDs may correspond to zero or more user accounts (since each person can have multiple accounts). To quickly select columns from the users table, I populate a temp table with person ids, then inner join it with the users table. I'm looking for an efficient way to ensure that the order of the results in the join matches the order of the ids as they were inserted into the temp table, so that the user list that's returned is in the same order as the person list as it was entered. I've considered the following alternatives: using "#p inner join users", in case the left table's order is preserved using "#p left join users where id is not null", in case a left join preserves order and the inner join doesn't using "create table (rownum int, personid bigint)", inserting an incrementing row number as the temp table is populated, so the results can be ordered by rownum in the join using an SQL Server equivalent of the "order by order of [tablename]" clause available in DB2 I'm currently using option 3, and it works... but I hate the idea of using an order by clause for something that's already ordered. I just don't know if the temp table preserves the order in which the rows were inserted or how the join operates and what order the results come out in.

  • Winsock tcp/ip Socket listening but connection refused, race condition?

    Hello folks. This involves two automated unit tests which each start up a tcp/ip server that creates a non-blocking socket then bind()s and listen()s in a loop on select() for a client that connects and downloads some data. The catch is that they work perfectly when run separately but when run as a test suite, the second test client will fail to connect with WSACONNREFUSED... UNLESS there is a Thread.Sleep() of several seconds between them??!!! Interestingly, there is retry loop every 1 second for connecting after any failure. So the second test loops for a while until timeout after 10 minutes. During that time, netstat -na shows the correct port number is in the LISTEN state for the server socket. So if it is in the listen state? Why won't it accept the connection? In the code, there are log messages that show the select NEVER even gets a socket ready to read (which means ready to accept a connection when it applies to a listening socket). Obviously the problem must be related to some race condition between finishing one test which means close() and shutdown() on each end of the socket, and the start up of the next. This wouldn't be so bad if the retry logic allowed it to connect eventually after a couple of seconds. However it seems to get "gummed up" and won't even retry. However, for some strange reason the listening socket SAYS it's in the LISTEN state even through keeps refusing connections. So that means it's the Windoze O/S which is actually catching the SYN packet and returning a RST packet (which means "Connection Refused"). The only other time I ever saw this error was when the code had a problem that caused hundreds of sockets to get stuck in TIME_WAIT state. But that's not the case here. netstat shows only about a dozen sockets with only 1 or 2 in TIME_WAIT at any given moment. Please help.

    I have a giant file (20 gigs) sitting on my source machine and I need to transfer it to my target machine. For the purposes of this question, let's assume that I do not have network connectivity between the two machines. I need to break this file into a series of smaller files, write the smaller files to DVD(s), then re-assemble everything on the target machine. Both source and destination machines are Linux boxes. Is there a way to accomplish this using tar? I have a feeling that I need to use the --multi-volume parameter. What are my options? I need to be able to specify the size of the volume files, in order to make sure that each one will fit onto a single DVD. Thanks!

    Hi, We are developing a multi-user desktop application with users located in different countries. The platform is - .net 3.5, SQL Server 2008, WinForms. Now, my client has used the help of a DBA who has implemented merge replication. To facilitate replication, we made all our primary keys as GUID. Now, we are facing these issues with replication - subscribers expiration sometimes stops replication and we have found no clean way to re-add every change to db schema requires to poll the whole data all over again! This seems to be strange, what could be the problem here? Also, sometimes we have duplicate keys, and that too stops replication I am sure these issues can be resolved. Maybe, we have not gone the right way to implement. Can you suggest how to go about implementing. Or, is the above information enough to diagnose the problem?

    I'm new to the multi-boot world, as i used to rely on virtualizing for running linux. Recently i moved to Dual booting Windows 7 and Ubuntu, with a storage partition for all my files where both operating systems could access them. Is it possible, to have 1 partition for 7, another for XP, another for Ubuntu, and a separate partition where the OS's can access my files? so 4 partitions on my hdd. and if there's a better way to go about this (or if its not possible), please let me know! thanks

  • Computer freezes for 2+ seconds, mouse still moves

    I have this problem on my workstation. The computer would effectively freeze for 2-5 seconds for no apparent reason, then continue as normal. While frozen the mouse would still be movable, but only on one of screens in my multi-screen setup. What can be the likely cause. System: CPU: i7-920 Memory: 12G of Patriot DDR3, 6 modules OS: SLED 11, Suse Linux Enterprise Desktop, using Gnome Main board: Asus P6T Video: two Nvidia 9500GT connected to three displays I am using memory at recommended settings of 8-8-8-1333. It has an XMP profile. Th CPU is a bit overclocked to 3.3 GHz, but my cooling more than allows for it. I ran the computer with all overclocks off and lower memory speed but the issue was still there. Any ideas? Where should I start looking?

  • Setting a parameter as a list for an IN expression

    Whenever I try to set a list as a parameter for use in an IN expression I get an Illegal argument exception. Various posts on the internet seem to indicate that this is possible, but it's certainly not working for me. I'm using Glassfish V2.1 with Toplink.     Im stuck in Excel 2007, running a query, it worked until I wanted to add a 2nd row containing "field 2". Any and all input that will help me is greatly apprecaited. I have read over http://www.techonthenet.com/sql/order_by.php however its not gotten me very far in this question. If you have another SQL resource you recomend for people trying to get their feet wet, I'd greatly apprecaite it. If it helps all the info is on the same table.

  • Android - Correspondence between ImageView coordinates and Bitmap Pixels

    In my application I want the user to be able to select some content of an Image contained inside an ImageView. To select the content I subclassed the ImageView class making it implement the OnTouchListener so to draw over it a rectangle with borders decided by the user. Here is an example of the result of the drawing (to have an idea you can think of it as when you click with the mouse on your desktop and drag the mouse): Now I need to determine which pixels of the Bitmap image correspond to the selected part. It's kind of easy to determine which are the points of the ImageView belonging to the rectangle, but I don't know how to get the correspondent pixels, since the ImageView has a different aspect ratio than the original image. I followed the approach described especially here, but also here, but am not fully satisfied because in my opinion the correspondence made is 1 on 1 between pixels and points on the ImageView and does not give me all the correspondent pixels on the original image to the selected area.   • MySQL FULLTEXT not working

    I'm attempting to add searching support for my PHP web app using MySQL's FULLTEXT indexes. I created a test table (using the MyISAM type, with a single text field a) and entered some sample data. Now if I'm right the following query should return both those rows: SELECT * FROM test WHERE MATCH(a) AGAINST('databases') However it returns none. I've done a bit of research and I'm doing everything right as far as I can tell - the table is a MyISAM table, the FULLTEXT indexes are set. I've tried running the query from the prompt and from phpMyAdmin, with no luck. Am I missing something crucial?   • Using Partitions for a large MySQL table

    An update on my attempts to implement a 505,000,000-row table on MySQL on my MacBook Pro: Following the advice given, I have partitioned my table, tr: i UNSIGNED INT NOT NULL, j UNSIGNED INT NOT NULL, A FLOAT(12,8) NOT NULL, nu BIGINT NOT NULL, KEY (nu), key (A) with a range on nu. nu ought to be a real number, but because I only have 6-d.p. accuracy and the maximum value of nu is 30000. I multiplied it by 10^8 made it a BIGINT - I gather one can't use FLOAT or DOUBLE values to PARTITION a MySQL table. Anyway, I have 15 partitions (p0: nu<25,000,000,000, p1: nu<50,000,000,000, etc.). I was thinking that this should speed up a typical to SELECT: SELECT * FROM tr WHERE nu>95000000000 AND nu<100000000000 AND A.>1. to something of the order of the same query on a table consisting of only the data in the relevant partition (<30 secs). But it's taking 30mins+ to return rows for queries within a partition and double that if the query is for rows spanning two (contiguous) partitions. I realise I could just have 15 different tables, and query them separately, but is there a way to do this 'automatically' with partitions? Has anyone got any suggestions?
