• Extending Code Igniter functions to external PHP Scripts

  Hello everybody. I'm doing a small web app, which uses CKeditor for user input, and CKfinder for file management (images/flash). Those who know CKFinder, algo know that the config file for CKFinder as a function named CheckAuthentication() that returns false or true, giving or not permissions to use CKFinder. This is were a Custom PHP Code checks if the user as authorization to access CKFinder or not. Well for my app I'm using Code Igniter, and of course I've created a model were i handle everything about User Permissions, Loggin, Session Cookies, etc. And i also have a function witch its propose is just to check if the user is Logged in. So I would like to know if someone knows a way that i can call the function isLoggedIn() inside the model security from inside the function CheckAuthentication() in CKFinder config file. • JPA/Hibernate Embedded id

  I would like to do something like that: An object ReportingFile that can be a LogRequest or a LogReport file. ( both got the same structure) An object Reporting containing for one logRequest, a list of logReport with a date. I tryed to set an EmbededId, that would be an attribute of the logRequest. And that's the problem i got. I don't arrive to mannage embedded id.   Hi friends, I am trying to write a small application using bouncycastle algorithm, from the http://tinyurl.com/ylclavn (BouncyCastleProvider.java) it says we have to import and add the provider during runtime by the following code import org.bouncycastle.jce.provider.BouncyCastleProvider; Security.addProvider(new BouncyCastleProvider()); error - The import org.bouncycastle cannot be resolved; during import error - BouncyCastleProvider cannot be resolved to a type; when calling addProvider I though bouncycastle is not provided with the Android 1.6 SDK, so thought of installing separately. how should i do this? If Bouncycastle is shipped along with SDK, what should i do to avoid these errors? I am using Android 1.6, eclipse-V3.4.0 on winXP . Thanks in advance

• For buffer overflows, what is the stack address when using pthreads?

  I'm taking a class in computer security and there is an extra credit assignment to insert executable code into a buffer overflow. I have the c source code for the target program I'm trying to manipulate, and I've gotten to the point where I can successfully overwrite the eip for the current function stack frame. However, I always get a Segmentation fault, because the address I supply is always wrong. The problem is that the current function is inside a pthread, and therefore, the address of the stack seems to always change between different runs of the program. Is there any method for finding the stack address within a pthread (or for estimating the stack address within a pthread)? (note: pthread_create's 2nd argument is null, so we're not manually assigning a stack address)

  I'm receiving this error message: Cannot open database \"Northwind\" requested by the login. The login failed.\r\nLogin failed for user 'Mike\Mike Simpson' When i try to add the user, which is me. Then sql server says Msg 15063, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 The login already has an account under a different user name. HEre is my connection string: "Data Source=Localhost;Initial Catalog=Northwind;Integrated Security=True" I'm using SSMS not SQL Server express I don't know what else I should do. This application used to work before i zipped it up. Thanks!

But when I try to do it with another https service I get a security error. This is probably because the website I try to connect too does not have a crossdomain.xml. Is there a way to bypass this? These tests require the logon dialog handler to be used in order to log different AD Users into the IE Browser. This works perfectly when using Windows XP and IE8, but now using Windows 7 has resulted in the Windows Security dialog box no longer being recognised, the dialogue box is just being ignored. • Fiddler not sniffing SOAP traffic from ASP.NET website

  So far I've been successfully using fiddler to sniff web service traffic from both test fixtures, console apps and web projects. Today I noticed I am not able anymore to sniff that kind of traffic if I am running my web application (it's a ASP.NET website, hosted locally on IIS). I see all the local traffic but the web service traffic is just gone (the service is being hit as I do see the response debugging into the code). I am still able to successfully sniff soap requests and responses from test fixtures or console apps in the same solution (exact same environment). If it was a windows (I am on Win7) security update or the likes it would never work I guess (unless it affects only traffic routed through IIS). What should I be looking for that could cause the emergence this behavior? Any pointers appreciated!

• Problem in apache2 with mod rewrite when setting rules in .conf files instead of .htaccess

  Hi, Because of weird security policies of my hosting provider I have to define my rewrite rules in /etc/apache2/conf.d/examplesite.conf instead of writing them on an .htaccess on the www folder of that site. What I'm trying to do is setup a Wordpress Mu server (http://mu.wordpress.org/forums/topic/17349 ) and so far its working on a 50%. The main blog loads perfectly but other sub blogs (located for example at www.example.com/blog2 ) don't. I'm guessing the problem is that the rewrite rules behave differently when declared at .conf files for each virtual host instead of using .htaccess files. Has anybody else had this problem? How can you fix it?

  I installed .NET 3.5 SP1 on server which previously had .NET 3.0 SP2. Before install site was working perfectly. After install and subsequeny server restart, site displays but anything that makes use of the WCF service has stopped working. The exception log reports exceptions like the following when any calls are made to the client proxy: The communication object, System.ServiceModel.Channels.ServiceChannel, cannot be used for communication because it is in the Faulted state. The server's application event log gave the following errors after the install: Configuration section system.serviceModel.activation already exists in c:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Config\machine.config. Configuration section system.runtime.serialization already exists in c:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Config\machine.config. • Running Jetty 7 server in eclipse?

  I'm trying to set up Eclipse to run and deploy my projects to a Jetty 7 server (the oldest version available from http://download.eclipse.org/jetty/). I've downloaded Jetty 7 and unpacked it, and I've installed the Jetty plugin from the available server adapters list, but when I try to configure a new Jetty server, the server type list only contains "Jetty 6". HANDLE CreateThread( LPSECURITY_ATTRIBUTES secAttr, SIZE_T stackSize, LPTHREAD_START_ROUTINE threadFunc, LPVOID param, DWORD flags, LPDWORD threadID ); However, does anyone have a wrapper or a URL to a library that is compatible with Cygwin/WinGW. Or can offer some advice? As this is the last little piece of moving from VSutdio Project over to makefiles for Windows/Darwin/Linux. Thanks.

• Flexbuilder won't launch...arrrgh!

  In a panic since I'm trying to meet a deadline so appreciate any feedback on this. For some reason, Flexbuilder 3 on my mac won't launch, crashes on startup. I've never experienced this before. Checked the .log file and what seems to be the problem is the following /Users/foo/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/#Security/FlashPlayerTrust/flexbuilder.fbr (No such file or directory) WTF is the flexbuilder.fbr??? Googled but not much luck. The only thing I've done that might have caused this is change flash player versions system wide using the official flash player uninstaller...but obviously this should not happen Any feedback appreciated...
