    G'day guys, I'm currently using fasterCSV to parse a CSV file in ruby, and wondering how to get rid of the initial row of data on a CSV (The initial row contains the time/date information generated by another software package) I tried using fasterCSV.table and then deleting row(0) then converting it to a CSV document then parsing it but the row was still present in the document. Any other ideas? fTable = FasterCSV.table("sto.csv", :headers => true) fTable.delete(0)

  • HOW-TO Make computer sing

    Hi, I'm trying to develop an online application where the user writes some text and the software sings it back to the user. I can currently generate the audio file with the words spoken by the computer using espeak, but I have no idea how to make it sound like a song, how to add rhythm to it. I'm able to change the pitch and tempo using rubberband, but that's as far as I've gotten. Does anyone have a clue how to make this happen?

The system is written in PHP and I would like to be able to get a current list of software and basic computer information on a computer. Basically when one of the faculty or staff creates a ticket from our web interface, I would like to have a Java Applet or similar that could be run and would return the information to the help desk PHP script.     How can I set Java 1.6 to be the default for my MacBook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo with OS X 10.5.8? I have installed the latest software update, and dragged the Java SE 6 64-bit choice to the top in the "Java Preferences" application (and even rebooted), but still, on the command line, java -version responds with: java version "1.5.0_24" Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_24-b02-357-9M3165) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_24-149, mixed mode, sharing) Any ideas?

    Hi. I'm designing a little software in java. Don't know the term/definition to what I'm doing, but I'm prompting commands from java to the terminal. Something like this: Process process = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("command"); I've done this before in linux, and I used the gksudo for commands that required root password. Is there any "gksudo" in os x? Any graphical popup asking for root password. Thanks =)

    Is there a way to detect when a specific device is plugged into a usb port, what I would like to happen is when I plug my laptop into my docking station it run up several apps to account for my different keyboard, mouse and monitors.     There was this old sql server tool called Lectoneth or something like that, you'd put sql queries in it, and it would rewrite it for you. I think quest bought them out, but I can't find where to download a free copy of that software. Really helps when you have no dba, and have lots of sql queries to rewrite. Thanks Craig
