I'm reading an XML document using JavaScript & jQuery, and need to extract some text from inside a node to save into an array. The structure of the XML is as such: <C> <TEXTFORMAT> Here's the text I want </TEXTFORMAT> </C> Everything I've tried so far returns nothing so I must be incorrectly referencing the contents of the FONT tag. What XML path should I be using?

Packing a long binary integer in Ruby

I'm trying to send a very long binary integer over UDP (on the order of 200 bits). When I try to use Array's pack method, it complains the string I'm trying to convert is too large. Am I going about this the wrong way? ruby-1.8.7-p352 :003 > [0b1101001010101101111010100101010011010101010110010101010101010010010101001010101010101011101010101010101111010101010101010101].pack('i') RangeError: bignum too big to convert into `unsigned long' from (irb):3:in `pack' from (irb):3 This number is supposed to represent a DNS query packet (this is for a homework assignment; we're not allowed to use any DNS libraries).

Drupal: Sorting a view programmatically

Hey there. I'm trying to take the results of a view - using the function views_get_view_result() - and sort the array in a way I couldn't do from within the Views interface. So far so good. I've got a $rows variable with all of the stuff I need. Now... How do I put it back? :) Before I needed this sort, I used views_embed_view(), but I can't do that anymore. Grateful for any help on this, feels like I'm so close to cracking it!

Why doesn't my Perl code work when I put it in a foreach loop?

This code outputs the scalars in the row array properly: $line = "This is my favorite test"; @row = split(/ /, $line); print $row[0]; print $row[1]; The same code inside a foreach loop doesn't print any scalar values: foreach $line (@lines){ @row = split(/ /, $line); print $row[0]; print $row[1]; } What could cause this to happen? I am new to Perl coming from python. I need to learn Perl for my new position.

What is the best way to keep track of eventListener functions on DOM elements? Should I add a property to the element which references the function like this: var elem = document.getElementsByTagName( 'p' )[0]; function clickFn(){}; elem.listeners = { click: [clickFn, function(){}] }; elem.addEventListener( 'click', function(e){ clickFn(e); }, false ); Or should I store it in my own variable in my code like below: var elem = document.getElementsByTagName( 'p' )[0]; function clickFn(){}; // Using window for the sake of brevity, otherwise I wouldn't =D // DOM elements and their listeners are referenced here in a paired array window.listeners = [elem, { click: [clickFn, function(){}] }]; elem.addEventListener( 'click', function(e){ clickFn(e); }, false ); Obviously the second method would be less obtrusive, but it seems it could get intensive iterating through all those possibilities. Base64 Encode String in VBScript

I have a web service load driver that's a Windows Script File (WSF), that includes some VBScript and JavaScript files. My web service requires that the incoming message is base64 encoded. I currently have a VBScript function that does this, but it's very inefficient (memory intensive, mostly due to VBScripts awful string concatenation) [Aside; Yes, I've seen Jeff's latest blog post. The concatenation is happening in a loop across messages that are 1,000's to 10,000's bytes in size.] I've tried using some custom string concatenation routines; one using an array and one using ADODB.Stream. These help, a little, but I think it would help more if I had some other way of encoding the message rather than via my own VBS function. Is there some other way of encoding my message, preferebly using native Windows methods?

Checking to see if a generic class is inherited from an interface

I've got a class that inherits from an interface. That interface defines an event that I'd like to subscribe to in the calling code. I've tried a couple of things, but they all resolve to false (where I know it's true). How can I check to see if a class implements a specific interface. Help on using paperclip plugin

I've just installed this plugin, created the migrations, added everything I needed to make it work(I didn't install ImageMagick yet). The problem is when I get the upload control parameter to save it in my controller, I get something like this: #<File:C:\Users\Brian\AppData\Local\Temp\RackMultipart.2560.6677> instead of a simple string, like C:\Users\Brian\AppData\Local\Temp\RackMultipart.2560.6677 And if I try to read it I get the following exception: TypeError backtrace must be Array of String What am I doing wrong? How do I read it or simply get rid of the # and < symbols?

How to troubleshoot deallocation of object in uitableview?

I have a table view with tall cells. About 300 in height. The cells are custom and have an associated nib. In cellForRowAtIndexPath, I access an object in an array using indexPath.row. The object has properties, which I assign to labels on the custom cell. This works fine for the first two cells. Once I scroll enough for the third cell to get created, the app crashes. free() on stack memory

I'm supporting some c code on Solaris, and I've seen something weird at least I think it is: char new_login[64]; ... strcpy(new_login, (char *)login); ... free(new_login); My understanding is that since the variable is a local array the memory comes from the stack and does not need to be freed, and moreover since no malloc/calloc/realloc was used the behaviour is undefined. This is a real-time system so I think it is a waste of cycles. Am I missing something obvious?

I am selecting an IEnumerable<dynamic> from the database using Rob Conery's Massive framework. The structure comes back in a flat format Poco C#. I need to transform the data and output it to a Json array (format show at bottom). Finding new IP in a file

Hello. I have a file of IP addresses called "IPs". When I parse a new IP from my logs, I'd like to see if the new IP is already in file IPs, before I add it. I know how to add the new IP to the file, but I'm having trouble seeing if the new IP is already in the file. !/usr/bin/python from IPy import IP IP = IP('192.168.1.2') f=open(IP('IPs', 'r')) #This line doesn't work f=open('IPs', 'r') # this one doesn't work for line in f: if IP == line: print "Found " +IP +" before" f.close() In the file "IPs", each IP address is on it's own line. When one selects a Tag on stackoverflow, it is added to the end of the Url. Add a second Tag and it is add to the end of the Url after the first Tag, with a '+' delimiter. For example, http://stackoverflow.com/questions/tagged/ruby-on-rails+best-practices. How is this implemented? Is this a routing enhancement or some logic contained in the TagsController? Finally, how does one 'extract' these Tags for filtering (assuming that they are not in the params[] array)?

Hello If I have a JSF backing bean return an object of type ArrayList, I should be able to use to iterate over the elements in the list. Each element contains a map and although the question of how to access the map content through JSTL has been answered here, if I pass an array of such maps, I can't find how to iterate over them and still access the map content using JSTL. There's documentation which refers to simple iterators but not to those whose items are themselves maps. BalusC, I'm not trying to force the issue, just that I've been looking at this all day, and still cannot seem to be able to output the contents of my data structure through jsp (only on the console). This as a separate question still has merit. If anyone can give me a simple example of how a java List is iterated over in JSP I'd be massively appreciative. Mark

Ex: I have a model called Event and its same as doing Event.find(id) (I dont want to use find inside my controller and I want my controller to use a named scoped (for future flexibility)) So I have written a named scoped named_scope :from_id, lambda { |id| {:conditions = ['id= ?', id] } } and I'm calling it from my controller like Event.from_id(id) But my problems is it returns Event object array not only one object Ex: if I want to get event name I have to write event = Event.from_id(id) event[0].name instead I want to write event = Event.from_id(id) event.name Am I doing something wrong here.. thanks in advance cheers sameera

Hi, i have a similar issue as espoused in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/695752/product-table-many-kinds-of-product-each-product-has-many-parameters i am convinced to use RDF now. but i already have a database in mysql and the code is in php. 1) So what RDF database should I use? 2) do i combine the approach? meaning i have a class table inheritance in the mysql database and just the weird product attributes in the RDF? I dont think i should move everything to a RDF database since it is only just products and the wide array of possible attributes and value that is giving me the problem. 3) what php resources, articles should i look at that will help me better in the creation of this? 4) thank you.

I'm trying to parse the feed and immediately upon calling getJSONArray a JSON exception is being thrown with no stack trace. Therefore looking at the source code, I can tell that config.pyo simply had variables in in an array: ADMIN_USERIDS = [116901, 141, 349244, 39, 1159488] I would like to take the original .pyo and disassembly or whatever I need to do inorder to change one of these IDs. Or.... in model.pyo the source indicates a if (productsDeveloperId != self.getUserId()): All I would want to do is hex edit the != to be a == .....Simple with a windows exe program but I can't find a good python disassembler anywhere. Any suggestions are welcomed...I am new to reading bytecode and new to python as well.

Best practice for storing global data in PHP?

Hi I'm running a web application that allows a user to log in. The user can add/remove content to his/her 'library' which is displayed on a page called "library.php". Instead of querying the database for the contents of the users library everytime they load "library.php", I want to store it globally for PHP when the user logs in, so that the query is only run once. Is there a best practice for doing this? fx. storing their library in an array in a session? Thanks for your time
