• Problem with sprintf function, last parameters are wrong when written

  So I use sprintf sprintf(buffer,"%f|%f|%f|%f|%f|%f|%d|%f|%d", x, y, z, u, v, w, nID,dDistance, nConfig) But when I print the buffer I get the 2 last parameters wrong, they are lets suppose to be 35.0000 and 0 and in the string they are 0.00000 and 10332430 and my buffer is long enough and all the other parameters are good in the string Any idea? Is there a length limit to sprintf or something^ I checked the types of all the numbers and they are right, but what seems to be the problem is the dDistance. When I remove it from the sprint, the nConfig gets the right value in the string, but when I remove nConfig, dDistance still doesn't get the right value. I checked and dDistance is a double. Any idea? Since people don't seem to believe me I did this : char test[255]={0}; int test1 = 2; double test2=35.00; int test3 = 0; sprintf(test,"%d|%f|%d",test1,test2,test3); and I get this in my string: 2|0.000000|1078034432

• Access Controller Context/ TempData from business objects

  I am trying to build a session/tempdata provider that can be swapped. The default provider will work on top of asp.net mvc and it needed to access the .net mvc TempData from the business object class. I know the tempdata is available through the controller context, but i cant seem to find if that is exposed through HttpContext or something. I dont really want to pass the Controller context as an argument as that would dilute my interface definition since only asp.net based session provider needs this, other (using NoSQL DB etc) doesn't care about Controller Context. To clarify further, adding little more code here. my ISession interface look like this. and when this code goes to production, the session/tempdata is expected to work using NoSql db. • Create static instances of a class inside said class in Python

  Apologies if I've got the terminology wrong here—I can't think what this particular idiom would be called. I've been trying to create a Python 3 class that statically declares instances of itself inside itself—sort of like an enum would work. Here's a simplified version of the code I wrote: class Test: A = Test("A") B = Test("B") def __init__(self, value): self.value = value def __str__(self): return "Test: " + self.value print(str(Test.A)) print(str(Test.B)) Writing this, I got an exception on line 2 (A = Test("A")). I assume line 3 would also error if it had made it that far. Using __class__ instead of Test gives the same error. File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> File "<stdin>", line 2, in Test NameError: name 'Test' is not defined Is there any way to refer to the current class in a static context in Python? I could declare these particular variables outside the class or in a separate class, but for clarity's sake, I'd rather not if I can help it.   On one page I'm "masking"/encoding URL which is passed to another page, there I decode URL and start file delivering to user. I found some function for encoding/decoding URL's, but sometime encoded URL contains "+" or "/" and decoded link is broken. I must use "folder structure" for link, can not use QueryString!   hello, I have a one to many relationship and when I try to delete a parent that haves more than one child the berforeInsert event gets called on the frst child. • ASP.NET MVC: Can't figure out what VirtualPath is?

  I have a View that displays a list of images and i am now trying to get it to display the images as thumbnails. Well, i'm pretty sure i got most of it right using VirtualPath's from a custom ActionResult although i can't seem to figure out what it is making the VirtualPath url?? BTW, i'm using XML to store the data from the images instead of SQL. • Can i change the view without changing the controller?

  Pretend1 there is a place to type in a name:     Name: __________________ When the text box changes, the value is absorbed into the controller, who stores it in data model. Business rules require that a name be entered: if there is no text entered the TextBox should be colored something in the view to indicate baddness; otherwise it can be whatever color the view likes. The TextBox contains a String, the controller handles a String, and the model stores a String. Now lets say i want to improve the view. There is a new kind of text box2 that can be fed not only string-based keyboard input, but also an image. The view (currently) knows how to determine if the image is in the proper format to perform the processing required to extract text out of it. If there is text, then that text can be fed to the controller, who feeds it to the data model. But if the image is invalid, e.g.3 wrong file format invalid dimensions invalid bit depth unhandled or unknown encoding format missing or incorrectly located registration marks contents not recognizable the view can show something to the user that the image is bad. But the telling the user that something is bad is supposed to be the job of the controller. i'm, of course, not going to re-write the controller to handle Image based text-input (e.g. image based names). a. the code is binary locked inside a GUI widget4 b. there other views besides this one, i'm not going to impose a particular view onto the controller c. i just don't wanna. If i have to change things outside of this UI improvement, then i'll just leave the UI unimproved5 So what's the thinking on having different views for the same Model and Controller? • Upcasting without any added data fields.

  In my project I have a generic Packet class. I would like to be able to upcast to other classes (like LoginPacket or MovePacket). The base class contains a command and arguments (greatly simplified): public class Packet { public String Command; public String[] Arguments; } I would like to have be able to convert from Packet to LoginPacket (or any other) based on a check if Packet.Command == "LOGIN". The login packet would not contain any new data members, but only methods for accessing specific arguments. For example: public class LoginPacket : Packet { public String Username { get { return Arguments[0]; } set { Arguments[0] == value; } } public String Password { get { return Arguments[1]; } set { Arguments[1] == value; } } } It would be great if I could run a simple code that would cast from Packet to LoginPacket with something like LoginPacket _Login = (LoginPacket)_Packet;, but that throws a System.InvalidCastException. It seems like this would be an easy task, as no new data is included, but I can't figure out any other way than copying everything from the Packet class to a new LoginPacket class.

  I am trying to find the list of objects which can be replaced. Class Letter{ int ID; string Name; string AdvCode; int isDeleted; } Class Replacers{ int ID; string MainAdvCode; string ReplacesAdvCode; } example data: Replacers 0 455 400 1 955 400 2 955 455 such that if a Letter has and Advcode of 455 and another has a code of 400 the 400 gets marked for deletion. And then if another Letter has a 955 then the 455 gets marked for deletion and the 400 (which is already marked) is marked for deletion. The problem is with my current code the 400 and 455 is marking itself for deletion?!?!? • How to read a parameter passed to a facelet from a backing bean

  Hi, I've written a facelet, and a corresponding backing bean, that implements user management (addition, deletion and so on). I'd want to be able to perform some custom processing when, for instance, a new user is added. There is a "create" button in the facelet, whose click event is handled by its backing bean. At the end of the event handler, I'd want to be able to call a method of another backing bean, which is not known because ideally the facelet can be used in several pages, with different custom processing. I thought to implement this feature by providing to the facelet a backing bean name and a method name, like this: <myfacelet:subaccounts backingBean="myBackingBean" createListener="createListener" /> and at the end of the event handler call #{myBackingBean.createListener} someway.   I am unit testing an ICustomerRepository interface used for retrieving objects of type Customer. As a unit test what value am I gaining by testing the ICustomerRepository in this manner? Under what conditions would the below test fail? For tests of this nature is it advisable to do tests that I know should fail? i.e. look for id 4 when I know I've only placed 5 in the repository I am probably missing something obvious but it seems the integration tests of the class that implements ICustomerRepository will be of more value. • Best solution for an StringToInt function in C#

  Hi, I were asked to do an StringToInt / Int.parse function on the white board in an job interview last week and did not perform very good but I came up with some sort of solution. Later when back home I made one in Visual Studion and I wonder if there are any better solution than mine below.   My program is about triggering XSL transformation, Its fact that this code for carrying out the transformation, creates some dll and tmp files and deletes them pretty soon after the transformation is completed. It is almost untraceable for me to monitor the creation and deletion of files manually, so I want to include some chunk of codelines to display "which codeline has created/modified which tmp and dll files" in console window.   I don't understand MEF very well, so hopefully this is a simple fix of how I think it works. I'm trying to use MEF to get some information about a class and how it should be used. I'm using the Metadata options to try to achieve this. If I remove the AllowMultiple setter and only include one exported attribute, the myExports variable now has the single export with its loaded metadata. What am I doing wrong?

  I seem to be having a problem with retrieving XML values with C#, which I know it is due to my very limited knowledge of C# and .XML. I was given the following XML file <PowerBuilderRunTimes> <PowerBuilderRunTime> <Version>12</Version> <Files> <File>EasySoap110.dll</File> <File>exPat110.dll</File> <File>pbacc110.dll</File> </File> </PowerBuilderRunTime> </PowerBuilderRunTimes> I am to process the XML file and make sure that each of the files in the exist in the folder (that's the easy part). It's the processing of the XML file that I have having a hard time with. Here is what I have done thus far: var runtimeXml = File.ReadAllText(string.Format("{0}\\{1}", configPath, Resource.PBRuntimes)); var doc = XDocument.Parse(runtimeXml); var topElement = doc.Element("PowerBuilderRunTimes"); var elements = topElement.Elements("PowerBuilderRunTime"); foreach (XElement section in elements) { //pbVersion is grabbed earlier.
