• Spring boot JAR as windows service

  I am trying to wrap a spring boot "uber JAR" with procrun. Running the following works as expected: java -jar my.jar I need my spring boot jar to automatically start on windows boot. The nicest solution for this would be to run the jar as a service (same as a standalone tomcat). When I try to run this I am getting "Commons Daemon procrun failed with exit value: 3" Looking at the spring-boot source it looks as if it uses a custom classloader: https://github.com/spring-projects/spring-boot/blob/master/spring-boot-tools/spring-boot-loader/src/main/java/org/springframework/boot/loader/JarLauncher.java I also get a "ClassNotFoundException" when trying to run my main method directly. java -cp my.jar my.MainClass Is there a method I can use to run my main method in a spring boot jar (not via JarLauncher)? Has anyone successfully integrated spring-boot with procrun? I am aware of http://wrapper.tanukisoftware.com/. However due to their licence I can't use it. What happens when I stop the service at the moment is; windows fails to stop the service (but marks it as stopped), the service is still running (I can browse to localhost), There is no mention of the process in task manager (Not very good! unless I am being blind).

  I am having a strange issue that I can't seem to resolve. Here is what happend: I had some log files in a github repository that I didn't want there. I found this script that removes files completely from git history like so: #!/bin/bash set -o errexit # Author: David Underhill # Script to permanently delete files/folders from your git repository. It seemed to work fine. • Configuring correct port for Oozie (invoking PIG script) in Cloudera Hue

  I am new to CDH4 Oozie workflow editor. While trying to invoke a pig script from Oozie workflow editor, i am getting the following error. HadoopAccessorException: E0900: Jobtracker [mymachine:8032] not allowed, not in Oozies whitelist It looks like Oozie is submitting the job to Yarn port (8032). I want it to submit to 8021 (MR jobtracker) port. Can someone help me in identify where to set the job tracker URL or port so that oozie picks up the correct one (using Hue or Cloudera manager). Previously I tried the following but none of them helped Modfied workflow.xml file /user/hue/oozie/workspaces/../workflow.xml file. However it gets overwritten when I submit the job from workflow editor. In cloudera Manager -- oozie -- configuration --Oozie Server (advanced) -- Oozie Server Configuration Safety Valve for oozie-site.xml property I set the following- <property> <name>oozie.service.HadoopAccessorService.nameNode.whitelist</name> <value>mymachine:8020</value> oozie.service.HadoopAccessorService.jobTracker.whitelist mymachine:8021 and restarted the oozie service. 3. Tried to override 'jobTracker' property while configuring the pig task. This appears as follows in the workflow file however it doesn't take effect (or doesn't override) and still uses 8032 port. <global> <configuration> <property> <name>jobTracker</name> <value>mymachine:8021</value> </property> </configuration> </global> I am using CDH4 version. • Forbidden Patterns Check-In Policy in TFS 2010

  I've been trying to use the Forbidden Patterns part of the TFS 2010 Power Tools and I'm just not understanding something - I simply cannot get anything to change as I try to use this! I'm using the version that was released recently (I believe April 23, 2010), so it's not an old version. First off, yes, I know it's regex based, so let's clear that doubt... I have tried to block the following scenarios: 1) I have modified all of my T4 EF templates to generate files named EntityName.gen.cs. I then attempted to prevent TFS from wanting to check those files in. I used the regular expression \.gen\.cs\z and it didn't change a single thing! I even tried it without the \z and nadda! 2) I don't want app.config and web.config files to be checked-in by default because we have these things stored into app.config.base and web.config.base files that our build scripts use to generate our per-environment app.config and web.config files. As such, I tried the following regexes and again, nothing worked! web\.config\z, app\.config\z, web\.release\.config\z and web\.debug\.config\z. What is it that I am screwing up with this?

  For Visual Studio 2010 Web based application we have Config Transformation features by which we can maintain multiple configuration files for different environments. But the same feature is not available for App.Config files for Windows Services/WinForms or Console Application. There is a workaround available as suggested on the following link. http://vishaljoshi.blogspot.com/2010/05/applying-xdt-magic-to-appconfig.html However it is not straightforward and requires no of steps. Is there an easier way to achieve the same for App.Config files?

• Installshield Development Error durring the Installation process

  Hey guys, I've been stuck by a problem for the past couple days that makes no sense to me. My installer builds fine in the Installshiled IDE but when it is about to finish the installation, int gets two errors then rollbacks: installation failure. Right when the install bar is at about 100%, an error box pops up that states this: "Error 1001.Exception occurred while initializing the installation: System.IO.FileLoadException: Attempt to load an unverifiable executable with fixups (IAT with more than 2 sections or a TLS section.) (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131019)." The box pops up once, then the installer flashes its status to "rollback" then pops up another error box, then once 'ok'ed it procedes to rollback as usual. The installers that I've tried(and failed) have always needed to be Setup.exes, when i try to build a .msi only setup I get this error message. It may help someone who knows more about this system than I do. Your project contains InstallShield prerequisites. A Setup.exe setup launcher is required if you are build a release that includes InstallShield prerequisites. Change your release settings to build Setup.exe, or remove the prerequisites from your project. -7076 There's nothing on the site that has anything from the error code, so I'm at a loss. • XP Deploying issues due to msvcr90.dll trying to load FlsAlloc

  I have an application build with VS2008 SP1a (9.0.30729.4148) on Windows 7 x64 that does not want to start under XP. The message is The application failed to initialize properly (0x80000003). Click on OK to terminate the application.. I checked with depends.exe and found that msvcr90.dll does try to load FlsAlloc from KERNEL32.dll - and FlsAlloc is available only starting with Vista. I'm sure it is not used by the application. How to solve the issue? I have a lot of gml files so I do not want to add the schema and namespaces to all my files. Does anybody know how to read my files?

The locals don't need signposts - they know their way around - so who gives a hoot about visitors? Well I'm a visitor and I'm lost. Here's my plea to the good burgesses of Codeplex-sans-signs: HELP!! Let me back-track and explain what landed me at the bottom of this tangled ruck. There's a "Download" button positioned near the top-right of the Codeplex web page, right? Like the Sword of Damocles, a down-arrow to the left of the button indicates, presumably, what a download would include: CURRENT 1.4.0 Stable DATE Fri May 7 2010 at 7:00 AM STATUS Stable With a simple-minded confidence that has since deserted me (the confidence - not the simple-mindedness), I clicked "Download". This introduced 3 new files to my computer: HtmlAgilityPack.dll, HtmlAgilityPack.pdb, and HtmlAgilityPack.XML This is when the first stab of doubt penetrated that globe between my cauliflower ears that I call a head. Where's the dot cs? Somewhere in Codeplex, I'd read advice to another lost soul to "download and build the HTMLAgilityPack solution". As I've done so many times as an All Black prop, I glared at the opposition front row - ah, I mean the 3 new files. Shouldn't one of them have a ".cs" on the back of his jersey - er, on the end of its name? Or is this just how they play the game in Codeplex-sans-signs? Undaunted (props have more courage than sense) I packed into my first C# scrum. FOUR files this time: HAPExplorer.zip, HtmlAgilityPack.1.4.0.Source.zip, HtmlAgilityPack.1.4.0.zip, HtmlAgilityPack.Documentation.chm But... is this not the same place arrived at recently by my flat-mate Chaz, journalist extraordinaire? (Chaz, if you're reading this, I'm not plugging for nothing - just write kindly about me in your next report, okay?) Didn't these same four files flummox Chaz The Great? He told me about it. Chaz left a message with Codeplex and then solved the problem by just walking away. Typical journalist, huh. But I'm not like that. I don't walk away. I'm made of the sort of stubborn stuff that becomes an All Black prop. Hence this impassioned plea: GOOD TOWNSFOLK OF CODEPLEX-SANS-SIGNS, WHAT SHOULD I DO NEXT? Can somebody point me to Main Street? How does a simpleton install 'C:\Source\htmlagilitypack\Trunk\HtmlAgilityPack\HtmlDocument.cs'? I'm willing to prostrate myself and grovel to the first kind face that passes in front of my rapidly clouding sight. So help me, I'd even tug my forelock if I had one! Should I hold forth my rod over the wilderness, and create a folder called 'C:\Source\htmlagilitypack\Trunk\HtmlAgilityPack\' or some such? If so, what files should I move into it? ANYTHING else a dum-ass should know about? - and I mean ANYTHING - you just don't know how witless a punch-drunk prop can be.. %( Whenever I've installed other programs they've given me an ".exe" or ".msi" that I can click on and it's all done for me like magic.   On Windows XP Just downloaed and unzipped google app engine java sdk to C:\Program Files\appengine-java-sdk I have jdk installed in C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_20. I ran the sample application by appengine-java-sdk\bin\dev_appserver.cmd appengine-java-sdk\demos\guestbook\war Then I visited localhost:8080 to find : HTTP ERROR 500 Problem accessing /.   How do I install SciPy on my system? Update 1: for the NumPy part (that SciPy depends on) there is actually an installer for 64 bit Windows: numpy-1.3.0.win-amd64-py2.6.msi (is direct download URL, 2310144 bytes). Running the SciPy superpack installer results in this message in a dialog box: "Cannot install. Python version 2.6 required, which was not found in the registry." I already have Python 2.6.2 installed (and a working Django installation in it), but I don't know about any Registry story. • How to flatten already filled out PDF form using iTextSharp

  I'm using iTextSharp to merge a number of pdf files together into a single file. I'm using method described in iTextSharp official tutorials, specifically here, which merges files page by page via PdfWriter and PdfImportedPage. Turns out some of the files I need to merge are filled out PDF Forms and using this method of merging form data is lost. I've see several examples of using PdfStamper to fill out forms and flatten them. What I can't find, is a way to flatten already filled out PDF Form and hopefully merge it with the other files without saving it flattened out version first. Thanks

I tried regular svn commands on the command line first: C:\temp\CheckoutDir> svn status -v I see all subdirs, all the files that are already checked in, a few new files labeled "?", nothing with the "L" lock indication C:\temp\CheckoutDir> svn add . --force This results in all new files in the subdirs ,that are already under version control themselves, to be added. I'd like to do the same using SharpSVN. Under logs folder, in my machine it is C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\Log, there are three kinds of files, ERRORLOG, ERRORLOG.1, ERRORLOG.2 ... ERRORLOG.6; FDLAUNCHERRORLOG, FDLAUNCHERRORLOG.1, FDLAUNCHERRORLOG.2, ... FDLAUNCHERRORLOG.6; log_207.trc, log_208.trc, ... My question is what are the differnet function of such log files? I'm using the properties-maven-plugin, but its not working as i want it to.   Hi All, I am trying to play video files from iPhone media player in my iphone application.I am reading the stream from one Media server. but i am getting error message as "The server is not configured correctly". Here is my observation: - I kept five different video files on server.(i am sure that all of these files are properly encoded and in right format.) - When i try to run same video URL in Mobile Safari i works perfectly without any error. - When i try to run any of video it doesn't create any stream on media server.(Usually when i try to play video it create stream on media server.but here the stream is not created on server side.) - I tried to play this files using Apple's sample application MoviePlayer but i am facing same issue.(Here i tried to run the application on Simulator) I also checked on my iphone 2G having OS 3.1.2 (jailbreak) but i face same issue. • TeX Font Mapping

  I am using a package written on top of XeLaTeX. This package uses fontspec to specify fonts for different parts of your text: latin, non-latin, math mode, ... The package comes with several sample files. I was able to xelatex most of them that depend on regular ttf or otf files. However, one of them tries to set the font of digits in math mode to some font, say "NonLatin Digits". But, the font doesn't seem to be a regular font. There are two files in the same directory called "nonlatindigits.map" and "nonlatindigits.tec". TECkit uses these mapping files to generate TeX fonts. However, for some reason it fails to create the files, and xelatex issues the following error message. kpathsea: Invalid fontname `NonLatin Digits', contains ' ' ! Font \zf@basefont="NonLatin Digits" at 10.0pt not loadable: Metric (TFM) file or installed font not found. The kpathsea program complains about the whitespace, but removing the whitespace does solve the problem with loading the TFM file. Any clues what I am doing wrong?

• SQL Server 08 Express error when connecting to localhost - "Timeout expired". Works with ::1 or 127

  EDIT New info: Navigating to localhost:1434 in Chrome gives me an "ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE", while other ports give me an "Oops! This link appears to be broken". So it seems to binding ok there? So here's my setup so far: I've configured Windows Firewall to allow TCP on 1433 and UDP on 1434. I've set up SQL Server to use any IP on Port 1433 (using the SQL Server Configuration Manager). My hosts file contains the default entries ("127.0.0.1 localhost" and "::1 localhost"). I sometimes have a debug session of Visual Web Developer running a webserver, but it's on a specific port (localhost:5XXXX). What I've tried: I CAN ping localhost in a cmd prompt. I CAN connect to the database through SSMS if I specify 127.0.0.1 or ::1 as the server name. I CAN'T connect to the database through SSMS (or ADO.NET) if I specify localhost as the server name. I've tried both Windows and SQL Authentication The error I get is the standard Can't connect to localhost. Additional Information -- Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding. (Microsoft Sql Server) Other considerations: Stopping the Visual Web Developer web server from the taskbar doesn't affect the sql problem. The SQL error log says that it's listening on some piped name url at start up (I don't see how this would affect localhost but not 127.0.0.1 though). I could probably just use 127.0.0.1 everywhere, but it scares me that localhost isn't working and I'd like to figure out why. I'm not much of a networking or sql server guy so I'm stuck. If you want me to try anything to help diagnose just put it in a comment and I'll give it a go. • Maven WTP webapp with maven-eclipse-plugin but without m2eclipse

  I use the eclipse:eclipse goal to generate an Eclipse Project environment. The deployment works fine. The goal creates the var classpath entries for all needed dependencies. With m2eclipse there was the Maven Container which defines an export folder which was WEB-INF/lib for me. But i don't want to rely on m2eclipse so i don't want to use it anymore. the class path entries which are generated by eclipse:eclipse goal don't have such a export folder. While booting the servlet container with WTP it publishes all resources and classes except the libraries to the context. Whats missing to publish the needed libs, or isn't that possible without m2eclipse integration?
