• Spring Roo unable to generate Selenium tests because of Xerces error

However, I haven't come across a clear way to remove something from the classpath, only setting it (which I think would be tedious each time). Does anyone know of a clear way to remove jars from the classpath? Has anyone encountered this Roo problem before and solved it another way?

  I have a form with some input texts passed in GET, and i don't want to have in GET all the fields; i want to avoid empty fields. So, a concrete example for: <form method="GET" action="an_url"> <input type="text" name="field1"/> <input type="text" name="field2"/> <input type="text" name="field3"/> <input type="submit" value="submit"/> </form> I supposed that fields disabled by html attribute "disabled" shouldn't be passed to GET. So i have done a js (based on jquery) to disable empty fields on submit, something like this: $("form").submit(function() { $(this).find("input[type=text]").each( function () { if (!$.trim($(this).val())) { $(this).attr("disabled", "true"); } }); }); However, this doesn't work. Any ideas?

• Converting app to MVC and running it in both console and gui

  I have a simple java gui calculator, with 3 number systems (there are some bugs but that doesn't matter now). Currently all code is in one file. My task is to rewrite it as MVC, and add possibility to run it in either gui or console mode. How should I divide this program to organise it as M-V-C ? Is it written properly enough to add console functionality to it? (guess I'll have to change all methods invoking to JLabel Output to something simply storing an output String as a model argument and then having View to get it). • touchesBegan and other touch events not getting detected in UINavigationController

  In short, I want to detect a touch on the navigation controller titlebar, but having trouble actually catching any touches at all! Everything is done without IB, if that makes a difference. My app delegate's .m file contains: MyViewController *viewController = [[MyViewController alloc] init]; navigationController = [[UINavigationController alloc] initWithRootViewController:viewController]; [window addSubview:navigationController.view]; There are a few other subviews added to this window in a way that overlays navigationController leaving only the navigation bar visible. MyViewController is a subclass of UIViewController and its .m file contains: - (void)touchesEnded:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { for (UITouch *touch in touches) { NSLog(@"ended\n"); } } -(void)touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { for (UITouch *touch in touches) { NSLog(@"began\n"); } } I also tried putting these functions directly into app delegate's .m file, but the console remains blank. What am I doing wrong?

• pass form builder in remote_function in rails ?

  hi all i have select box where on change i need to grab the value and via remote function get some field names from db and then generate those field further down the form depwning on whatoption from the select box is chosen. The problem is is that the fields are in a f.form_for so are using the formbuilder f that has the select box in. So when i render the partial via ajax in the controller i get an error as i dont have a reference to the local form builder f. does anyone know how or if i can get reference to the form builder orif can pass it in a remote function call and then pass into my locals in the partial ? thanks alot, any help will be great as been stuck on this a long time! cheers rick

• IntelliJ IDEA non standard caret behaviour

  I have an issue with IntelliJ IDEA when selecting a big amount of text, and I cannot find the parameter to set to change that. Here is an example of the situation: My caret is on line 3 I scroll with the mouse wheel towards line 300 I press ctrl + shift I press the left button of the mouse Such an action would result in the text from line 3 to 300 being selected in all common editors (even in MS-Word I think), but not in IntelliJ. Do you know how to set this right? Thanks!

One of the wives happens to be a Graphical Designer, she has come up with the brilliant idea to put Code on the Jersey (How this wasn't my idea, I have no clue).   hi, I am facing critical problem for integration of WAS Server-Apache Server.I am using the WAS server for the connection pooling for the database calling...and my webpage is hosted in the apache server and the webpage serarch box is calling the WAS Server and i am using struts frame work for autocomplete action... but it is working in IE of all versions.. but it is not working any browser... the JS file HTTPsuggestions are going to the structs frame work... but the response is is giving as null even i am giving the xmlHttpGetSuggestions.status =200 || xmlHttpGetSuggestions.status =0 but i am not getting the autocomplete feature. can you please help to slove this problem.....   We have the following tools in place: Subversion (Version 1.5.9) Polarion (version 3.2.2) Polarion is based on Subversion, so on every action that changes anything (which is often the case), Polarion will use a Subversion commit to change anything. All things are currently stored in one and only one repository, so every commit of every user (some 100-200 on the same repository) will trigger the pre-commit hook. So what is the best strategy to provide pre-commit hooks that will trigger only for some, but not all projects run as fast as possible, because every pre-commit hook will block all other commits. We have tried to implement pre-commit hooks with Java (using SVNKit), but this will start on every commit a Java VM. So any ideas how to implement that nicely?

  I want to understand event cycles. I have a form with a grid and textboxes. It has a grid, bound to DataTable, and textboxes bound to same table too. I'm trying to debug something and need to know how to identify ALL events fired in the form to see what may solve an issue for me. Anyhow, unless I explicitly subclass every class on my form, and override / attach to every event to my own event handlers, how can I get / listen to all events being fired during a certain action... Such as changing a "Selected" road in a DataGridView. It obviously updates its own "CurrentRow"... I need to know what / how to maybe FORCE a re-loading of SAME CurrentRow. Reason: during a form level "Edit Mode", and I change the content in another "Textbox" control, and reject changes, I need it to simulate the current "Record" is reloaded to go back to its original values.

• Add UIView behind UITableView in UITableViewController code

  I would like to use a fixed image as the background in a simple grouped table view in my iPhone program. Unfortunately, no matter what I do, the background is always solid white. I have followed several supposed solutions on this site and others to no avail. Here is the relavant code in the viewDidLoad method of the table view controller class (note, this code uses a solid blue color rather than an image for simplicity's sake): self.tableView.opaque = NO; self.tableView.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; UIView *backgroundView = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 480)]; backgroundView.backgroundColor = [UIColor blueColor]; [self.tableView.window addSubview:backgroundView]; [backgroundView release]; I suspect that I am not positioning the backgroundView view in the right place. I have tried sendToBack:, bringToFront:, and others but I always just get a white background. Is it possible to do this from within the UITableViewController? Must I use Interface Builder?

• mvc components in codeigniter?

  in yii i could have mvc components (acts like an own application). could i have this too in codeigniter? eg. in SYSTEM/APPLICATION have a folder called COMPONENTS and in there i put stand-alone applications that would be a part of the application. components like ADDRESS BOOK, MAIL, TWITTER and so on. every component folder has folders like: models, views, controllers, config etc. so a component model extends the application model which in turn extends system's (code igniter) model. the same goes for view and controller. i've already got a lot of these components which i want to use in codeigniter. is it good idea to place them as i said in SYSTEM/APPLICATION/COMPONENTS or is there best practice for this?

  Hi All, I've got a page in an ASP.Net app (its Mvc actually but not important) and I would like to only allow connections to this page from the local machine. I would love to do something like this in Web.config: <location path="resources"><system.web><authorization><allow ips="local"/></authorization></system.web></location> I know this is possible with a simple check in the page code behind (or controller) and its even possible just with IIS configuration but I would love a Web.config config as this would be the most elegant solution in my opinion. DATE siteID action username 05-05-2010 siteA pageview jim 05-05-2010 siteB pageview tom 05-05-2010 siteA pageview jim 05-05-2010 siteB pageview bob 05-05-2010 siteA pageview mike and for each site you wanted to find out the unique visitors for each site? I was thinking the mapper would emit siteID \t username and the reducer would keep a set() of the unique usersnames per key and then emit the length of that set. However that would be potentially storing millions of usernames in memory which doesn't seem right. Anyone have a better way? I'm using python streaming by the way thanks

• Storing links to internal content pages in ASP.NET MVC

  I'm using a route like this routes.MapRoute( "PageBySlug", RouteType.Regular, "{slug}", new {controller = "Page", action = "Display", slug = "Default"}, null ); to map request to ~/Some-Page-Slug to ~/Page/Display/Some-Page-Slug. When adding content, user can choose to link to existing pages to create references and I then store those links in this format in the datastore: "/Some-Page-Slug". When I run the app in Cassini and pull the link out from datastore and attach it to A tag it looks like this http://localhost:93229/Some-Page-Slug and this link works. But when running the application in virtual directory under some website in IIS, the attached link generates this URL http://localhost/Some-Page-Slug, when it should be http://localhost/virtualdir/Some-Page-Slug. Of course, this generates 404 error. How can I solve this to be universally useful and working under all circumstances? Should I store it differently in the database or should I transform it into correct form in my Views at runtime and how to do that?

• I need to know what link is clicked, how do i get these variables with cherrypy?

  Lets say I display 3 links, I want to accomplish 2 things, know which link is clicked, and record this choice in a list/pickle or txt file but also capture this variable in cherrypy so I can perform another action. How do I do this? Its been suggested that I use a query string which makes sense but I can't get the querystring variable to cherrypy to use for further actions. So would anyone have a simple code of cherrypy with lets say 2 pages and have one page display 2 links with a querystring in each and the second page able to get that value?

  Hi, I created an application with a TabBarController, 4 TabBarItems and every TabBarItem have is own NavigationController file (everything created in IB). I'm using the drawRect function to design my navigationBar: @implementation UINavigationBar (customImage) -(void)drawRect:(CGRect)rect { UIImage *image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"MyImage.png"]; [image drawInRect:CGRectMake(0,0, self.frame.size.width,self.frame.size.height)]; } @end The problem is that the NavigationBar change for every ViewController inside my app, what I want is only draw the NavigationBar for one TabBarItem only and use the default navigationBar for other controller. • How do I debug random Timeout::Error: execution expired

  We are using Rails 2.3.5 and have been experiencing seemingly random Timeout::Error: execution expired errors. The errors reported by Hoptoad are not consistently in any particular controller and show up everywhere from user sessions to account settings to some of our core functionality controllers. The vast majority of requests do not Timeout but there are enough to cause concern. Is this normal? If so, what are some things to look at to decrease the occurance? If not, has anyone run into this and what are some common problems that can trigger an error like this.

According to the book NHibernate in Action, on page 187: Collections of components are mapped similarily to other collections of value type instances. The only difference is the use of <composite-element> in place of the familiar <element> tag. How would I do this using Castle ActiveRecord attributes?

I have read a lot that springMVC framework is a good choice (never used though) My earlier experience with java is not much. only some small app development using Netbeans. so I have some experience using Netbeans. but I see that I can start a JEE project in Netbeans. so what kind of framework netbeans is using underneath. PS: My understanding of framework (e.g. SpringMVC) is that you follow rule of framework to configure your app. and then framework take care or linking your View, controller and model. so if i am using netbeans, do i need to take care of linking of my MVC by myself?

  Hi! I'd like to spec the fact that my application layout view prints out flash notices. However the following code does not run, the flash method does not exist in view specs (as opposed to controller specs where it works perfectly): describe 'layouts/application' do it "renders flash notices" do flash[:notice] = "This is a notice!" render response.should contain "This is a notice!" end end Is my code wrong or is it a "not-yet-implemented feature" in Rspec 2? • NSMutable String "Out of scope"

  I have two NSMutableString objects defined in my viewController's (a subclass of UITableViewController) .h file: NSMutableString *firstName; NSMutableString *lastName; They are properties: @property (nonatomic, retain) NSMutableString *firstName; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSMutableString *lastName; I synthesis them in the .m file. In my viewDidLoad method - I set them to be blank strings: firstName = [NSMutableString stringWithString:@""]; lastName = [NSMutableString stringWithString:@""]; firstName and lastName can be altered by the user. In my cellForRowAtIndexPath method, I'm trying to display the contents of these strings: cell.detailTextLabel.text = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@ %@", firstName, lastName]; but this is causing the app to crash as soon as the view controller is displayed. Using the debugger, it seems that both firstName and lastName are "out of scope" or that they don't exist. I'm new to Xcode but the debugger seems to halt at objc_msgSend. What am I doing wrong?
