  • jQuery plugin to have Facebook styled search box with image thumbnails?

    Hello everyone: I will work on a search box with inspiration from Facebook where image thumbnails would be displayed besides the auto-suggested matches. This is the goal : link to sample image I wonder if there is any jQuery plugin that would just do this. I tried to search for a one but unable to find. If there is no plugin for this task, I'd like to know the basic plugins needed to implemented such an auto-suggest/image thumbnail display combination. Any suggestion and hint is welcomed.   • How do I determine the cause of Qt's "*** is not a valid Qt plugin" error?

    When I print the value of errorString from my QPluginLoader object, I get this: The file 'C:/pyprojects/test/qsqlpsqld4.dll' is not a valid Qt plugin. I would like to avoid some days worth of doing the time consuming "guess-and-check" methodology that my current internet searches reveal (so far none of them seem relevant anyways). Is there a way for me to get the Qt library itself to tell me why it is refusing to load this plugin? I don't want to guess; I want to know. Context: I am on Windows 7 running Qt 4.8.5 (32-bit, MinGW) and the qsqlpsqld4.dll file is also 32-bit and compiled with MinGW. I am using PySide to interact with Qt.

  • Hudson's FindBugs plugin reports line number "-1" for bugs. Ideas?

    Greetings, I have a simple test project set up in Hudson and the project's build process (a batch file) generates a findbugs.xml file. This is processed by Hudson's FindBugs plugin but it shows the line number of the bugs as "-1" instead of their actual line number. A coworker suggested I enable debug info for the compiler. I used the -g "Generate all debugging info" option for javac but nothing seemed to change. My build command is: javac -g -classpath C:\testWebApp1\src -d C:\testWebApp1\build C:\testWebApp1\src\*.java The only other thing in the build.bat file is a call to the FindBug tool (text UI). Here is what the FindBugs Plugin says about the first bug: File: GenerateHellos.java, Line: -1, Type: UUF_UNUSED_FIELD, Priority: Normal, Category: PERFORMANCE Any ideas? Thanks a ton!

  • Website displays in chrome perfectly, but not in mozilla or IE

  • How can I give some basic text editing functionality to a firefox plugin?

    Hello. I'm writing a plugin to Firefox, which is basically a sidebar, that is filled with yaml-formatted information based on what user does on the page (just another web testing solution). I want to enable user to change generated text manually right in the sidebar and: Add code-folding (folding click: \n text: some text to a single line) Add highlighting of registered actions (click, fill and so on) and unregistered actions (syntax errors) How do I do that? Is placing an iframe to the sidebar and trying to do that with html/js the best solution (seen it in a similar one)? As you may have noticed, I'm a newbie in plugin writing, so please excuse if anything.

  • What IDE(s) or editor(s) do companies like Google, Apple, IBM, etc. use?

    Even though I have quite some experience in using various tools, I still can't make up my mind whether I prefer using IDE or a simple editor for code editing. Most IDEs I have experienced are written in Java (like Eclipse) which makes them slow and bulky. What's good about them is that it provides lots of tools. On the other hand editors are usually VERY fast. They can also be extended to become more similar to IDEs but usually I don't do that. However, there is Sublime Text 2 which has some basic code completion built-in. My question would be whether most Enterprise companies like Google, Apple, IBM and etc (except Microsoft because they have AMAZING IDE which, I assume, is used by MS developers) force their workers to use IDEs and whether using plain editor with external tools is considered being not professional? P.S. Not talking about cases like Android development where working without IDE barely possible.

  • What is the right way to modify a wordpress query in a plugin?

    Basically i am playing with a plugin that allows future-dated posts on archive pages. My question is broader than this specific functionality, but everyone likes some context. I have my head around many of the plugin development concepts, but must be missing something very basic. I can successfully rewrite a query that gives me the results i want like this: function modify_where( $where ) { global $wp_query; // define $year, $cat, etc if( is_archive() ) { $where = " AND YEAR(wp_posts.post_date)='".$year."' AND wp_term_taxonomy.taxonomy = 'category' AND wp_term_taxonomy.term_id IN ('".$cat."') AND wp_posts.post_type = 'post' AND (wp_posts.post_status = 'publish' OR wp_posts.post_status = 'future')"; } return $where; } add_filter('posts_where', 'catCal_where' ); However, if i attempt to create a new WP_Query('different_query_stuff') after the main loop the new query uses the same WHERE statement outlined above.   • 501 Error during Libjingle PCP on Amazone EC2 running Openfire

    I am trying to implement Google's Libjingle (version: 0.6.14) PCP example and I am getting a 501: feature not implemented error during execution. Specifically, the error occurs after each "account" has connected, been authenticated and began communicating with the other. An abbreviated log of the interaction is provided at the end. I have set up my own jabber server (using OpenFire on an Amazon EC2 server), have opened all of the necessary ports and have added each "account" to the other's roster. The server has been set to allow for file transfers. My being new to working with servers, I am not sure why this error is occur and how to go about fixing it. Thanks in advance, AeroBuffalo P.S. This either means that an incorrect URI was entered, or the server is unreachable.   • How can I replicate Google Page Speed's lossless image compression as part of my workflow?

    I love that Google's Page Speed is able to losslessly compress a lot of my images, but I'd love to make it part of my workflow, prior to uploading a site and making it live. Is there anything I can run locally to give me the same lossless compression? I currently export images from Export For Web from Photoshop, and use a little application called PNGCrusher to reduce file size of PNGs. I'd love to find a faster way though than saving out and replacing the individual images from Page Speed's results.

    We are right now incorporating microformats markup for reviews into a client's web application and were wondering, whether it can be harmful to provide the same information on more than one page, e.g. on a dynamic search page and on the concrete product page. Does anybody have any experience with this? UPDATE: Actually, I was wondering, if Google showed a link to the page the review comes from, then how would they decide which of the sources of the review they would link to? Or don't they?

    Hi, I have a huge list of IP addresses recorded from various visitors to a website. A huge amount of the visitors, in some months over 70%, came from IP addresses that contained keywords such as google, yahoo, bot, crawler, etc. Does this mean that those users were infact search engine crawlers? If so, why are their so many crawlers in my visitor records in comparison to genuine human visitors? (and if not what's the explanation?) Thanks in advance.

    I installed SVN Toroise. I then proceeded to the desktop and right clicked and clicked on SVN checkout. I then entered under the URL of Repository "http://apple-crunch.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ apple-crunch-read-only" but after a few seconds the checkout fails saying that the URL doesn't exist. I got the command line from http://code.google.com/p/apple-crunch/source/checkout I'm trying to get a direct copy instead of browsing through the source.
