    How might I go about performing an action only when a G+ button has finished rendering? Facebook allows one to do this using the following: FB.XFBML.parse(document, function() { alert('rendering done'); }); I've perused Google's documentation, but didn't see anything helpful.   • maya "export all" window blocks my plugins script UI

    I'm writing a custom File Translator for Maya which can export only (I have only declared the writer function). Currently having a problem with the MEL script which defines the plugin's options as a GUI. Currently I have a blank Maya scene, go to "file-export all". This creates the "File Export All" dialog, I then select my plugin exporter which runs my MEL script to create the bespoke options window. This new window is created behind the "File Export All" dialog and is not selectable! Do I have to place my export plugin specific options within the export all dialog rather than placing them in a separate window? Thanks for any links, tips or pointers you can provide.

    I have an MVC 2 application that has the following on it; <% using( Html.BeginForm("Results","Quote", FormMethod.Post, new { name="Results" })){ %> <% Html.RenderPartial("Needs", Model.needs); %> <div class="But green" style=""> <a href="." onclick="javascript:document.Results.submit();">Go</a> </div> <input type="submit" /> <%} %> Pressing the Submit button or the anchor both post back to the right ActionResult. However, when in the controller I return View(stuff..) only the Submit button will come back to the page. When the call finishes from pressing the anchor, I go to an error page informing me that the resource cannot be found. I suspect it has something to do with href="." but am unsure what to set it to.

  • JCarousellite not working in IE8

    I have a user who's having issues running the JCarousellite plug-in in IE8. Not just on my own site, but also on the jcarousellite homepage (http://www.gmarwaha.com/jquery/jcarousellite/) It runs fine on my own machine and all his IE Security settings/levels are the same as my own (Secruity is at "Medium-High" and Privacy at "Medium"). JQuery also seems to be working for him as other aspects controlled by jquery on the site are functioning correctly. I use Firefox normally, so am not aware of every feature IE8 offers, but am thinking he has some setting/option set incorrectly. Anyone experienced something similar or have any suggestions for settings I could look at changing? Thanks

  • Can I use foreign key restrictions to return meaningful UI errors with PHP

    I want to start by saying that I am a big fan of using foreign keys and have a tendency to use them even on small projects to keep my database from being filled with orphaned data. On larger projects I end up with gobs of keys which end up covering upwards of 8 - 10 layers of data. I want to know if anyone could suggest a graceful way of handling 'expected errors' from the MySQL database in a way that I can construct meaningful messages for the end user. I will explain 'expected errors' with an example. Lets say I have a set of tables used for basic discussions: discussion questions responses users Hierarchically they would probably look something like this: -users --discussion ---questions ----responses When I attempt to delete a user the FKs will check discussions and if any discussion exist the deletion is restricted, deleting discussion checks questions, deleting questions checks responses. An 'expected error' in this case would be attempting to delete a user--unless they are newly created I can anticipate that one or more foreign keys will fail causing an error. What I WANT to do is to catch that error on deletion and be able to tell the end user something like 'We're sorry, but all discussions must be removed before you can delete this user...'. Now I know I can keep and maintain matching arrays in PHP and map specific errors to messages but that is messy and prone to becoming stagnant, or I could manually run a set of selects prior to attempting the deletion, but then I am doing just as much work as without using FKs. Any help here would be greatly appreciated, or if I am just looking at this completely wrong then please let me know. On a side note I generally use CodeIgniter for my application development, so if that would open up an avenue through that framework please consider that in your answers. Thanks in Advance

    I'm using backbone for a reasonably complicated form. I have a number of nested models, and have been computing other variables in the parent model like so: // INSIDE PARENT MODEL computedValue: function () { var value = this.get('childModel').get('childModelProperty'); return value; } This seems to work fine for keeping my UI in sync, but as soon as I call .save() on the parent model, I get: Uncaught TypeError: Object #<Object> has no method 'get' It seems that the child model kind of temporarily stops responding. Am I doing something inherently wrong?     Hello, I'm writing a when-button-pressed trigger on a save button for an Oracle Forms 6i form, and it has to fulfill a couple of scenarios. Here's some background information: the fields we're primarily concerned with are: n_number, alert_id, end_date For all three scenarios we are comparing candidate records against the following records in the database (for the sake of argument, let's assume they're the only records in the database so far): alert_id|| n_number|| end_date ------------------------------------- 1|| 5|| _______ 2|| 6|| 10/25/2009 Scenario 1: The user enters a new record: alert_id 1 n_number 5 end_date NULL Objective: prevent the user from committing duplicate rows Scenario 2: The user enters a new record: alert_id 1 n_number 10 end_date NULL Objective: Notify the user that this alert_id already exists, but allow the user the ability to commit the row, if desired. Scenario 3: The user enters a new record: alert_id 2 n_number 6 end_date NULL Objective: Notify the user that this alert_id has occurred in the past (i.e. it has a not-null end_date), but allow the user to commit the row, if desired. I've written the code, which seems to comply with the first two scenarios, but prevents me from fulfilling the third. Issues: When I enter the third scenario case, I am prompted to commit the record, but when I attempt this, the "duplicate_stop" alert pops up, preventing me. Issues: I'm getting the following error: ORA-01843: not a valid month. While testing the code for the third scenario in Toad (hard-coding the values, etc) things seemed to be fine. Why would I encounter these problems at run-time? Help is very much appreciated. Thank you

  • How to use CSS to ensure items remain offscreen even if window is resized?

    I am trying to implement a type of slider using jquery. However this question is about the CSS involved in trying to achieve the functionality. My site design occupies a central column of width 960px. Within this layout there is a central element, that I wish to slide right, on click of a "next" button, and at the same time, another element of the same class slides in from the left to occupy the space vacated. I have drawn a diagram of what I am trying to achieve. In this diagram the red blocks are the element I want to slide in and out, it is grouped by a div which moves left to produce the effect using jQuery I have 2 main questions: How do I get the correct margin values, given that the browser window width can vary and that all elements that are not the current item should be offscreen? 2.If the user were to resize the margins could be dynamically altered based on the values returned using the jQuery resize() event. Or is there a neater quicker better way of doing it using pure CSS?

    I bought a responsive html5 template to create a website for my band. But I miss a page of tour dates, and would create a unique content, simple and quick to load on any device. I have the idea ready, something like buttons (months) to change on hover and when clicked, shows the dates and cities, all with transitions and fadein / fadeout.
