• SignalR Server Error "The ConnectionId is in the incorrect format." with SignalR-ObjC Library

  Before asking a separate question I've done lots of googling about it and added a comment in the already existing stackoverflow question. I have a SignalR Hub (tried both v. 1.1.3 and 2.0.0-rc) in my server with the below code: [HubName("TestHub")] public class TestHub : Hub { [Authorize] public void TestMethod(string test) { //some stuff here Clients.Caller.NotifyOnTestCompleted(); } } The problem persists if I remove the Authorize attribute. And in my iOS client I try to call it with the below code: SRHubConnection *hubConnection = [SRHubConnection connectionWithURL:_baseURL]; SRHubProxy *hubProxy = [hubConnection createHubProxy:@"TestHub"]; [hubProxy on:@"NotifyOnTestCompleted" perform:self selector:@selector(stopConnection)]; hubConnection.started = ^{ [hubProxy invoke:@"TestMethod" withArgs:@[@"test"]]; }; //received, error handling [hubConnection start]; When the app starts the user is not logged in and there is no open SignalR connection. The users logs in by calling a Login service in the server which makes use of WebSecurity.Login method. If the login service returns success I then make the above call to SignalR Hub and I get the server error 500 with description "The ConnectionId is in the incorrect format.".   Deploying ASP.NET 3.5 Web Service to local IIS (on Windows 7) I get this error message... The account 'ASPNET' does not appear to be valid. The account was obtained from this location: 'AspNetWorkerProcessIdentityName'. Some or all identity references could not be translated. Publish failed to deploy. I've tried making the site use a specific Application Pool, and the Network Service user (which also has full rights to the deployment folder) but to no avail.

  I have created a WCF service with one method which returns a System.Xml.XmlElement: using System.Xml; ... public XmlElement Execute(...) { XmlNode node = ...; return (XmlElement)node; } When I try to access the service deployed on my server WCFServiceClient service = new WCFServiceClient("WSHttpBinding_IWCFService"); XmlElement node = service.Execute(...); I get the error: Cannot implicitly convert type 'System.Xml.Linq.XElement' to 'System.Xml.XmlElement' Searching my service solution, I cannot see any reference to System.Xml.Linq.XElement. Is it wrong of me to expect a System.Xml.Xmlelement or is VS 2010 fooling around with me? Thanks in advance.

  Hey, I wanted to play around with using a MemoryMappedFile to access an existing binary file. If this even at all possible or am I a crazy person? The idea would be to map the existing binary file directly to memory for some preferably higher-speed operations. I don't think it's file-permissions, since I'm running as a nice insecure administrator user, and there aren't any other programs open that might have a read-lock on the file. This is on Vista with UAC disabled. If it's simply not possible and I missed something in the documentation, please let me know. I could barely find anything at all referencing this feature of .net 4.0 Thanks!

• Make ListView.ScrollIntoView Scroll the Item into the Center of the ListView (C#)

  ListView.ScrollIntoView(object) currently finds an object in the ListView and scrolls to it. If you are positioned beneath the object you are scrolling to, it scrolls the object to the top row. If you are positioned above, it scrolls it into view at the bottom row. I'd like to have the item be scrolled right into the center of my list view if it is currently not visible. Is there an easy way to accomplish this?

Basically it records all the instructions the program ran, and allows you to easily look through the execution log. Is there a similar feature for open source tools? Specifically such a feature for Java with Eclipse integration would be a nice thing to have.

  I have a 2010 project that is targeting .NET v3.5. It was working fine until I started to mess with configurations a bit and now I cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong. The project doesn't have ANY references added. It won't even let me add a reference to System.Core as it is added by the 'build system'. warning CS1685: The predefined type 'System.Func' is defined in multiple assemblies in the global alias; using definition from 'c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\mscorlib.dll' IFilter.cs(82,49): error CS0433: The type 'System.Func' exists in both 'c:\Program Files (x86)\Reference Assemblies\Microsoft\Framework\v3.5\System.Core.dll' and 'c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\mscorlib.dll' Looks like something is grabbing onto 4.0 but I'm not quite sure how to fix it. Any one else run into this?

  I just was playing with EF 4 in VS 2010 RC and just found that ApplyCurrentValues dont work when the Property is of type bool and the newly value is false !!!??? and it works when the newly value is true . • Getting an ASP.MVC2/VS2010 application to work in IIS 7.5

  I've recently downloaded beta 2 of VS2010 and started playing with ASP.NET MVC2. Initial development was done with Casini, but now I wanted to run the application from IIS 7.5 (I'm running Windows 7). I've installed the IIS6 metabase compatiblity and I run VS2010 as administrator so I can use the "Create Virtual Directory" button from the "Web" tab of the project settings. This created the web application entry in IIS, but it doesn't work. When I go to the main page (http://localhost/MyMvcApp/) I get a HTTP 403 error. When I go directly to one of the sub-pages (http://localhost/MyMvcApp/Home/) I get an HTTP 404. So I guess for some reason the URL routing isn't working. I've already added UrlRouting as a module and a handler to the web.config. In my searches this is offered as a solution for some similair problems. But for me this still doesn't work. • vs2010: trying to debug javascript using Chrome: this is not a valid location for a breakpoint

  Everytime I try to set a debug point in Javascript, eietehr while in Design mode or while runniong, I get the error: trying to set a breakpoint in javascript: this is not a valid location for a breakpoint When I go to VS2010's Options screen under Debugging Just In Time, I see that Managed, Native & Script are selected, I also placed the line "debugger;" in the first line of a javascript function that is called but the break is never hit. In the Web.Config (although this is probably for compiled code:): <compilation debug="true I'm reliving this problem on a new machine...Can u help? Edit: I left out a huge detail: Google Chrome is my default browser. (I am trying to debug a Chrome-only error.) Must I resort to other debug tools other than VS2010? I am thinking that it should work. Too hopeful, eh?

  I am fairly new to unit testing and am using VS2010 to develop in and run my tests. I have a simple test, illustrated below, that simply compares 2 System.Data.DataTableReader objects. I know that they are equal as they are both created using the same object types, the same input file and I have verified that the objects "look" the same. I realize I may be dealing with a couple of issues, one being whether or not this is the proper use of Assert.AreEqual or even the proper way to test this scenario, and the other being the main issue I am dealing with which is why this test fails with this exception: Failed 00:00:00.1000660 0 Assert.AreEqual failed. Expected:<System.Data.DataTableReader>. Actual:<System.Data.DataTableReader>. • Windows phone 8.1 emulator not loading OS

  I am trying to launch the emulator (Emulator 8.1 WVGA 4 inch 512 MB, or any other as a matter of fact) but it fails to launch. It goes to the "Loading OS" screen then throws an error box with the text "DEP6100". On VS, it says at the bottom Error1 Error : DEP6100 : The following unexpected error occurred during bootstrapping stage 'Connecting to the device': ObjectDisposedException - 0x80131622 and Error2 Error : DEP6100 : The following unexpected error occurred during bootstrapping stage 'Connecting to the device': ObjectDisposedException - 0x80131622 Looked in the internet but haven't found an answer yet. • Problems with MembershipUser / System.Web.ApplicationServices when upgrading to .net 4

  I have a large vb.net web project that I am trying to updgrade to .net4/VS2010. During compile I get the following error: 'System.Web.Security.MembershipUser' in assembly 'System.Web, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' has been forwarded to assembly 'System.Web.ApplicationServices'. Either a reference to 'System.Web.ApplicationServices' is missing from your project or the type 'System.Web.Security.MembershipUser' is missing from assembly 'System.Web.ApplicationServices'. I researched the issue and the error is accurate. I added a reference to System.Web.ApplicationServices but I am still having problems. The project does not seem to recognize that the reference has been added. Intellisense will not pick it up, I can not use it in an Import statement, etc ... The assembly is listed in the compile section of my web.config: <assemblies> ... <add assembly="System.Web.ApplicationServices, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35"/> </assemblies> Any ideas?

• Reporting Services 2010 RDLC: Passing Querystring Parameters from an RDLC

  I'm trying to build a simple RDLC report that shows some data, and has a 'select' link that sends the browser off to a certain url with some data in the querystring (a key). In the vs2010 report designer, I can double-click on the column, then select action, and there are a bunch of thigns that seem like they might work. But none of them do. Under 'enable as a hyperlink' I can pick 'go to url' but there aren't any parameter options to pass. I also tried 'go to report' on the off chance that I could trick it into doing what I want. Here there are parameter options, but it knows that my url is not a report and the "select" link renders as text (not clickable). Any ideas? I'm pretty sure this used to work in vs2008, and it seems like something that must be doable. But I've been pulling out my hair for several hours on this one.

• XP Deploying issues due to msvcr90.dll trying to load FlsAlloc

  I have an application build with VS2008 SP1a (9.0.30729.4148) on Windows 7 x64 that does not want to start under XP. The message is The application failed to initialize properly (0x80000003). Click on OK to terminate the application.. I checked with depends.exe and found that msvcr90.dll does try to load FlsAlloc from KERNEL32.dll - and FlsAlloc is available only starting with Vista. I'm sure it is not used by the application. How to solve the issue?   I have a hybrid asp.net web forms / mvc application that I recently converted to .net 4 with mvc2. I have set-up that application to run on IIS 7.5 (on Windows 7) and the web forms part of the site is running okay but the MVC part is not. Whenever I try and access a page that needs to go through the routing engine I get HTTP Error 404.0 - Not Found The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Module IIS Web Core Notification MapRequestHandler Handler StaticFile Error Code 0x80070002 I'm debugging this web site through VS2010 (so I've set-it-up to use IIS instead of Cassini) and when I put a break point in the Application_Start function it is never hit so the routes are never registered. When I put a break point in the Page_Load function in one of the aspx page code-behinds it gets hit. So it seems that the problem is that the route is not being registered. What am I missing?

• SGEN doesn't work after upgrading from VS2008 to VS2010

  I just recently upgraded a VS2008/.NET 3.5 SP1 project to VS2010 and .NET 4. I have a post-build event which calls SGEN to generate the XmlSerializers assembly. Whenever I try to run it I get the following error. Error: An attempt was made to load an assembly with an incorrect format: c:\path\to\someassembly.dll. - Could not load file or assembly 'file:///c:\path\to\someassembly.dll' or one of its dependencies. This assembly is built by a runtime newer than the currently loaded runtime and cannot be loaded. If you would like more help, please type "sgen /?". I get the same error running SGEN from the command line, but I can't figure out what the problem is. Any ideas?

• TFS - Rebinding solution to new TFS when prior TFS no longer available

  The prior instance of TFS I was using is no longer available and I have a test project I want to bind to the new instance of TFS. However, when I try to add the solution to source control, the error message tells me that the collection is not available on the server. I have deleted all old source control files, and it still has the old bindings somewhere. Does anyone know how to remove ALL bindings so I can just simply start over again with a new instance of TFS? Thanks.
