  I want to create a windows app that does the following. When a button is clicked, Find a running instance of IE (which I was able to get a handle using FindWindow api (user32.dll)) Send message to windows OS to mouse click on the image in IE. I already know that there is an image on the page. -- this is where I need help!! thanks. How do I get a image object in html from windows app when I have a handle? I've tried user32.dll (mouse_event(long dwFlags, long dx, long dy, long cButtons, long dwExtraInfo)) but I can't find correct x and y for the image in the page.

• how to use monthNames in jqgrid when validating date?

  Hi all. In my jqgrid when i am clicking on add new record i have date field prepopulated with current date. Format of the date is yyyy-MMM-d (e.g. 2010-Jan-23). Date is required field and when i click submit button it fails validation and displays error that this date is invalid, and it wants Y-m-d format. How can i check my value with jqgrid? In other words how to make jqgrid accept the following date format when validating 2010-Jan-23? Thanks.

  I would have a dialog with the following $("#statusbox").dialog({ autoOpen: false, bgiframe: true, modal: true, width: 'auto', height:'auto', title:"Check Order Status", buttons: { Find: function() { get_status(); }, Close: function() { $(this).dialog('close'); } } }); and when the user hits the find button it runs ajax and returns orders to the dialog and it get dynamically re-sized but it only extends the box down. Is there way to make the box extend up and down so that the dialog remains centered ? also if there was enough content then it could potentially go beyond the bounds of the page so I would think I could use a max height to prevent that but what do I do if they re-size the window ? thanks for any help

• Reset UITextField's original placeholder text

  I'm adding some user feedback mechanism into my app. The user types some comments into a text field and when that editing is done it updates a UITextView. Then when the user hits the submit button and moves on in the app the user may have need to send more feedback from the same form for a different item. I can reset the other fields and labels in the app to their default values when I hide the view, but not the textField (?). How can I reestablish the placeholder text next time the user accesses this view? Your suggestions are humbly appreciated.

• How do you add a row to a databound datagridview using the datagridview in the gui?

  Hi guys, I've bound a datagridview to a collection of objects. It's giving me a null reference exception when I try to add a new row to a collection (empty or otherwise) using the gui. More specifically, when there is a write event it does this. How can I override the behavior of the write event and manually add all of the columns contents to the object collection? I could disable the add new row feature and make an add button, but the built in datagridview row add looks so much more slick.

  I want to do some kind of image editor, after I upload more images I want to make a list with all the thumbnails! After, I want to be able to click on one thumb and rotate, duplicate, drag and drop (to change positions of the images), and delete the image. I want all the images to be in a php array. If an image is deleted I want to delete the row from array too. If a image is drag-and-dropped I want to change the position in the array too. Ok, after the user uploads all the images and modifies some of them, how can I make a DONE button to save the positions of the images? For this small project how do you suggest I save the images? (to make a table in mysql and store the names of the images in the database depending on the session id? depending on the IP?) Any suggestions are welcome!

  Hi all! I have a problem selecting a checked radio button with jquery. The radio buttons are generated by a function from a MVC that i'd rather not change and its name is like id[number]. Simply put, I have to check if any of these buttons are checked: <input type="radio" name="id[1]" value="1"/ <input type="radio" name="id[1]" value="2"/ The problem is that jQuery('input:radio[name=id[1]]:checked').val() will select some function from the jQuery library.   I have page consisting of a calendar view ( http://code.google.com/p/calendardateselect/ ) as well as divs, each of which contain information about a person. In each div I want to have a link to a new controller and action, and pass the id for the person and the date selected in the calendar. I can think of a one way, but I'm thinking there's likely a better solution: 1) Do something like: =link_to_function "Week", "weekClicked(#{person.id})" Then in the weekClicked() javascript method I get the selected date from the calendar, such as: $('e_date').selected_date; then with javascript I could make a post request as mentioned here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/133925/javascript-post-request-like-a-form-submit 2) Or, is there a way that I could make each link a button in it's own form and maybe have a hidden field that gets the selected date from the calendar as or before the form is submitted? I tried this too, but couldn't figure it out. This definitely seems like it's more on the right track than #1. Thanks.

  I have a RichTextBox that I write a string to every time I click a Form button. The string ends with a newline so each time I add a string, it appends to the bottom of the RichTextBox. Each string begins with the string "Long" or "Short" and ends with Environment.NewLine. I'd like to color each line red if it beings with "Long" and blue if it begins with "Short". How can I do this? • Blackberry: Simulator stuck up launching through JDE 5.x

  Hi, When i try to build my project in Blackberry JDE 5.0.0.25. It built successfully. And then when i click on Debug menu "Go" button, simulator is launching and stuck up lanching itself forever, does't come up the simulator screen normally and visible with apps showing. When i built the same project in Blackberry JDE 4.7, it built successfully and then click on "Go", launched the simulator normally and showed the app to play with it. Could someone guide me what should be problem? Do i need to set any settings specific to BB JDE 5.x? I have just the basic hello world empty screen in my project, so don't provide any code here. Thanks.

Assume I know that the character numbers are at 16,510 - 17,888, and what I'd like to do is trim it. I was using: jQuery('#textsection').html(jQuery('textarea').html().substr(range.start)); But browsers seem to enjoy crashing when I do this. Alternatives?

• How can I stop my application?

  I have the main thread from which I start a window using invokeLater. I run my application from command line. So, when application is running I see the window and my command line is "blocked" by the application. I can stop the application either by closing the window (as a result the command line is unblocked) or by typing Ctrl-C in the command line (as a result the window disappear). I wanted to be able to stop the application by clicking on a button in the window of the application. I used setVisible(false) for that. But in this way I can achieve the goal only partially. My window really disappear but the command line is still blocked. So, the software is still running. Well, I assume it's because some other threads are still running. But how can I easily close all these threads (like I do by closing the window of the application manually).

  Ran into this problem today, posting in case someone else has the same issue. var execBtn = document.createElement('input'); execBtn.setAttribute("type", "button"); execBtn.setAttribute("id", "execBtn"); execBtn.setAttribute("value", "Execute"); execBtn.setAttribute("onclick", "runCommand();"); Turns out to get IE to run an onclick on a dynamically generated element, we can't use setAttribute. Instead, we need to set the onclick property on the object with an anonymous function wrapping the code we want to run. execBtn.onclick = function() { runCommand() }; BAD IDEAS: You can do execBtn.setAttribute("onclick", function() { runCommand() }); but it will break in IE in non-standards mode according to @scunliffe. You can't do this at all execBtn.setAttribute("onclick", runCommand() ); because it executes immediately, and sets the result of runCommand() to be the onClick attribute value, nor can you do execBtn.setAttribute("onclick", runCommand);
