  • How to listen for AffectsParentArrange events when you're not the parent

    There is an attribute "AffectsParentArrange" that implicitly invalidates the parent's layout - but I want to attach an event handler to the "event" triggered by that attribute. When a child property with the attribute changes, the parent's arrangement is invalidated. I have a custom control (which is not the immediate parent) that needs to receive an event. Does anyone know of an event that can be used here? Do I need to provide a custom parent that overrides a method and fires an event?

    I have a main form and non-modal autocomplete form. How can I prevent the autocomplete form from being activated by the user, when the user clicks on the list in the autocomplete form? So, basically I want the autocomplete form the receive the mouse click message when the users clicks, but to never become active, because it causes problems with a third-party component in the main form over which I have no control.

  • Sending Mail using PHP on IIS 7 - Windows 2008 Server

    Hi, I'm having trouble sending mail using PHP mail() on IIS 7 using Windows 2008 Server. The server is dedicated, thus I have full control over my machine. php.ini looks fine - ([mail function] is configured) I don't get any error from mail() (with the right parameters of course) btw - I got ASP and ASP.NET sending mails without any problems.     I am creating a report from Ruport and want to be able to take the grouping heading, in this case the ID for the class Email, and wrap a method around it and a link_to to link to the Email view based on the email_id: @table = ContactEmail.report_table(:all, :conditions => ['date_sent >= ? and date_sent <= ?', @monday, @friday]) @grouping = Grouping(@table, :by => "email_id") How do I do that? It feels as if I have little control over the output.

  • Refactor custom wizard to reduce flicker

    I have implemented a custom wizard control in C# windows forms by creating a base form which has the shared components and then making child forms for each step of the process. I then have a class which hides/shows the child forms when you move from one step to another. The problem is that flickering is bad when moving between forms. Does anyone know a way to either keep this method and reduce the flicker or refactor it to make it use a single form (which should definitely reduce the flicker)?

    I'd like the field to save as a 1 or 0 instead of 'True' or 'False' in the database and i cannot figure out how to do it without manually setting every property when the record is saved. I have to use this a lot in this project and a bit field is not an option. I would like to solve this issue by extending the CheckBox control if possible but i don't know how to change the binding fields value. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    I have 2 asp:ListView controls, one embedded in the other (OuterListView and InnerListView respectively). I am trying to add an asp:linkbutton in the InnerListView layout that will allow the user to add an item to the InnerListView. Unfortunately, when I handle the OnClick event in the linkbutton control, I can't figure out how to get a handle on the asp:linkbutton's parent ListView from within the codebehind handler. Obviously, there is no global handle since there are multiple inner listviews. I can link code if necessary.

  • JQuery validation not working for checkbox group

    I'm having trouble getting JQuery validation to work with a set of checkboxes. I'm generating the checkboxes using an ASP.NET checkboxlist, and I've used JQuery to set the 'name' attribute to the same thing for each checkbox in the list. Here's the code that gets written to the browser. I'm setting the 'validate' attribute on the 1st checkbox to set the rule that at least one checkbox must be selected. The JQuery validation works for all other elements on the form, but not for the checkbox list. I'm trying to enable the JQuery validation whilst being as unobtrusive as possible, so that pages will still work even if JQuery is disabled. Here are the relevant JQuery inclusions and JQuery initialisation script for the form wizard.   • Return ActionResult to a Dialog. ASP.NET MVC

I want to catch its results and handle that in a dialog on the page - but I cannot figure out how to get back to the page to execute the jQuery that would be responsible for it. Any ideas?
