• How do I drag and drop a folder in Winforms?

  I would like to know how to drag & drop the folder and get its name. I already know how to do it with a file, but I'm not really sure how to modify it to be able to drag folders as well. • How to improve performance of opening Microsoft Word when automated from c#?

  I have Microsoft Word template that I automated filling it’s fields from my application, and when the user request print I open this template. but creating word application every time user request print after filling fields is very expensive and lead to some delay while opening the template, so I choose to cache the reference to Word then just open the new filled template. that solve the performance issue as opening file is less expensive than recreating Word each time, but this work while the user just close the document not the entire Word application which when happened my reference to Word become invalid and return with exception says: “The RPC server is unavailable” next time request opening template . I tried to subscribe to BeforClosing event but his trigger for Quitting Word as well as Closing documents. My question is how to know if the word is closing document or quit the entire application so I take the proper action, or any hint for another direction of thinking about improve performance of opening word template.

• C# NetworkAvailibilityChanged doesn't trigger on disconnect

  My goal is to detect when the Ethernet cable gets disconnected I am attempting to use NetworkChange class but the event NetworkAvailibilityChanged does not trigger when I unplug Ethernet cable. • Java serial comm notifyOnDataAvailable configure receive buffer size?

  Hi All, I have a Java serial driver that's using the notifyOnDataAvailable mode to enable async. receive notification. I see an occasional problem where the SerialPortEvent.DATA_AVAILABLE serial event is not called until a relatively large no. of characters have been received (e.g. 34). The problem is that the sender sent a 20 byte packet, so the Java receiver did not send an ACK until the sender did a retry of the 20 byte send. Is there any way in Java COMM to configure the size of the receive buffer?

  How do you show ajax gif only for a specific request? For example my page is calling a web-service every 30 seconds in a background, and I don't want to show the gif during this callback. On the other hand I want to show the gif, when I'am making manual ajax requests. I am using jQuery. edit: I didn't setup the global handler as shown here http://api.jquery.com/ajaxStart/, just by attaching to the .ajaxStart event. But I don't want to show/hide the gif manually on every request too. I need some generic solution.

  I know how to grayscale an image. I am using jquery accordion and I have images on every accordion header. I want to change the image to grayscale when the accordion is active and change the image back to its original form when the accordion is not active. I am using the event accordionChange. The problem is that I am not able to save the original image. Please help. Also after grayscaling I tried to give the original src directly as document.getElementById("imgId").src = "images/pic.jpg"; This is not working.

• NServiceBus - Message Sent to and Removed from Queue, but Never Fire IHandleMessages.Handle

  First let me state, today is my first day using NSesrviceBus - so I hope my question isn't too elementary. I have managed to set up Sender, Receiver, and Messages projects. When I debug the Sender, I see the messages show up in the configured queue. When I debug the Receiver, the messages are removed from the queue. However, my IHandleMessages Handle event never fires, and no Console output is displayed. I'm sure I've done something wrong (I think I may have mixed tutorials from different versions of NServiceBus) - any suggestions would be appreciated.

• How to get dataset to populate data into dbgrid in Delphi 6?

  I have created a DBGrid in Delphi 6 and tied it to a DataSource contained in a DataModule. The Dataset for that source in also located in the same module. In the OnShow event for the form, I activate the dataset and set a label equal to the rowcount for the dataset. This shows several hundred rows but nothing shows in the dbgrid. If I activate the dataset in the IDE, the grid populates with the expected data. Does anyone have any idea why this behaviour would change between the IDE and normal runtime? We are also using SDAC connection components. All 3rd party component choices are not mine to change. I can elaborate as necessary for clarification, but I mainly need troubleshooting ideas to start at.

• Monitoring file upload progress in Actionscript 3

  I'm trying to track the progress of a file upload in AS3, and I'm getting strange behavior. When I select a file and upload it, the progress is instantaneously 100% even if the file is 10 or more megabytes, but it's not finished. The onComplete event is fired about 30 second to a few minutes later (depending on file size) when the file has really finished uploading. I've tested this locally and on the server, the behaviour is the same. Has anyone else experienced this? Very frustrating ... Otherwise, the file is uploading fine. If I have only the onmousedown event handled, the background color will be changed to blue for sure.   I have a number of table rows that I would like to toggle the visibility of. They should be visible if a data item I have set on them earlier equals a selected value in a form. Thing is that I thought I was able to give toggle a function that would decide if each row should be on or off, but it turns out I can only give it a boolean condition which would be an all or nothing deal kind of... So, I have this function: function() { return $(this).data('category_id') == category_id; } How can I use that to go through all the rows and toggle them on or off? Or is there a better approach to this? What should I do?

  Is it somehow possible to handle a download abort in PHP? In this specific case I am not speaking of a connection abort, but handling the event that triggers when the 'cancel' button in the browser download dialog button is clicked. Since this dialog already interprets the headers of the file that is to be download but does not actually start the download, it only seems logical there should be some way to catch this.   The pthread_cond_timedwait function needs an absolute time in a time timespec structure. What time function I'm suppose to use to obtain the absolute time. I saw a lot of example on the web and I found almost all time function used. (ftime, clock, gettimeofday, clock_gettime (with all possible CLOCK_...). The pthread_cond_timedwait uses an absolute time. Will this waiting time affected by changing the time of the machine? Also if I get the absolute time with one of the time function, if the time of the machine change between the get and the addition of the delta time this will affect the affect the wait time? Is there a possibility to wait for an event with a relative time instead?

  I was wondering if it would be possible to have a define which changes values at some point in the code be used in a conditional. If it's not, would having a function like RenderWindow* getWindow() { return window; } and then calling if(Escape.isPressed()) getWindow()->close(); The best way to do it? I'd rather not go that route because the classes that are calling the key event are members of the class controlling the main loop and the window, so I'd have to set pointers to the containing class in the smaller classes to call getWindow() and it just seems like a more complicated method. But if I can't do it with preprocessor directives I'll just have to use pointers to the parent class.

  I am working on a project similar to a table where the user will be able to add rows. Right now there is just one row type available but I would like to give the user the ability to select from a list without changing the layout of the page. So, I put together a menu that appears on mouseover of the 'add row' link and disappears on mouseout (with a slight delay and fade in/out) using mootools event listeners. It looks like: I am now trying to figure out an easy way to make it so that the list stays available when the user's mouse leaves the 'add a row' link to go to select an item from the list. I looked through various mootools add-ons and tutorial but didn't find anything all that helpful. Does anyone know of a good tutorial guide me through this or can otherwise point me in the right direction here?

• Vector.erase(Iterator) causes bad memory access

  Hi, I am trying to do a Z-Index reordering of videoObjects stored in a vector. The plan is to identify the videoObject which is going to be put on the first position of the vector, erase it and then insert it at the first position. Unfortunately the erase() function always causes bad memory access.
