  • How can I visually format JSON data (programmatically)?

    I'm working with big blobs of JSON. These blobs change slightly over time and a revision history is kept. I'd really like to be able to do a visual diff on them, but my problem is they're being stored without any formatting at all - everything is on one line, so that makes it a little hard to see what changed. Is there a good way to programatically format them ala http://jsonformat.com/ or http://jsonformatter.curiousconcept.com/?

  • How is push()ing and pop()ping defined?

    I know how the push() and pop() methods in a typical implementation of a Queue/Linked List work but what I do want to know is what you actually define as a push or a pop? When can you name a method push()/pop()? What makes the insert()/add() method in a typical Tree implementation not a push()? My understanding is that push()ing means putting something to a position some special pointer is pointing to, and pop()ping an element means putting some object away some pointer is pointing to, but it doesn't seem to be clearly defined. Or does the naming matter at all?

    I have a multi-dimensional array that looks like this: The base array is indexed based on category ids from my catalog. $categories[category_id] Each base array has two underlying elements: ['parent_category_id'] ['sort_order'] I want to create a function that allows us to create a list of categories for a given parent_category_id in the correct sort order. Is this possible? Technically it is the same information, but the array is constructed in a weird way to extract that information.

    I'm implementing Bagwell's Ideal Hash Trie in Haskell. To find an element in a sub-trie, he says to do the following: Finding the arc for a symbol s, requires ?nding its corresponding bit in the bit map and then counting the one bits below it in the map to compute an index into the ordered sub-trie. What is the best way to do this? It sounds like the most straightforward way of doing this is to select the bits below that bit and do a population count on the resulting number. Is there a faster or better way to do this?

Most importantly,the Binary Tree is represented as the First chiled/next sibling format. so struct TreeNode { Object element; TreeNode *firstChild; TreeNode *nextSibling; } Calculate the # of nodes: public int countNode(TreeNode root) { int count=0; while(root!=null) { root= root.firstChild; count++; } return count; } public int countHeight(TreeNode root) { int height=0; while(root!=null) { root= root.nextSibling; height++; } return height; } This is one of the problem I saw on an algorithm book,and my solution above seems to have some problems,also I didn't quite get the points of using this First Child/right sibling representation of Binary Tree,could you guys give me some idea and feedback,please?     I need to create a program that converts one number system to other number systems. I used itoa in Windows (Dev C++) and my only problem is that I do not know how to convert binary numbers to other number systems. All the other number systems conversion work accordingly. Does this involve something like storing the input to be converted using %? Here is a snippet of my work: case 2: { printf("\nEnter a binary number: "); scanf("%d", &num); itoa(num,buffer,8); printf("\nOctal %s",buffer); itoa(num,buffer,10); printf("\nDecimal %s",buffer); itoa(num,buffer,16); printf("\nHexadecimal %s \n",buffer); break; } For decimal I used %d, for octal I used %o and for hexadecimal I used %x. I want to programatically build a product brochure using content controls and openXML. The article in question refers to an accompanying video which unfortunately does not appear to be available, nor does the code. I posted a comment to ask where they are but in the meantime does anybody know of a good example. There are plenty of examples of binding/merging one record into a openXML Word document. But I want to bind a whole list of records to create a product brochure. Can anyone point me to good tutorial? Thanks
