    I want to update a field in a database table that has to have a cumulative value. So basically I need to find the current value of the field and update it using a new number. My first inefficient try at this (in Mongoid) is: v = Landlord.where(:name=>"Lorem") v.update_attributes(:violations=>v.violations + 10) Is there a simple method than making one query to read, then sum up, and another query to write?

    I'm trying to log the change of a value in the console (Firefox/Firefly, mac). if(count < 1000) { count = count+1; console.log(count); setTimeout("startProgress", 1000); } This is only returning the value 1. It stops after that. Am I doing something wrong or is there something else affecting this?

  • Delphi Math: Why is 0.7<0.70?

    If I have variables a, b, an c of type double, let c:=a/b, and give a and b values of 7 and 10, then c's value of 0.7 registers as being LESS THAN 0.70. On the other hand, if the variables are all type extended, then c's value of 0.7 does not register as being less than 0.70. This seems strange. What information am I missing?

    I used Mike Swanson's illustrator to xaml converter to convert some of my images to xaml. The convert creates a viewbox that contains the image. These viewboxes I made resource files in my program. The code below shows what I'm trying to do: I have a viewmodel that has an enum variable called PrimaryWinding of type Windings.     I am trying to create a schema that has 2 address types. The first AdressType requires an element Line 1 to have a value at least 10 characters. The second type OtherAdressType derives from this with the same elements, but does not require a value for Line 1. I've tried different ways but always get schema errors, this error is: Invalid particle derivation by restriction - 'Derived element '{namespace}:Line1' is not a valid restriction of base element '{namespace}:Line1' according to Elt:Elt -- NameAndTypeOK.'.     I've been working through Practical Common Lisp and as an exercise decided to write a macro to determine if a number is a multiple of another number: (defmacro multp (value factor) `(= (rem ,value ,factor) 0)) so that : (multp 40 10) evaluates to true whilst (multp 40 13) does not The question is does this macro leak in some way? Also is this "good" Lisp? Is there already an existing function/macro that I could have used?

    I have a custom template tag: def uploads_for_user(user): uploads = Uploads.objects.filter(uploaded_by=user, problem_upload=False) num_uploads = uploads.count() return num_uploads and I'd like to do something like this, so I can pluralize properly: {% with uploads_for_user leader as upload_count %} {{ upload_count }} upload{{ upload_count|pluralize }} {% endwith %} However, uploads_for_user leader doesn't work in this context, because the 'with' tag expects a single value - Django returns: TemplateSyntaxError at /upload/ u'with' expected format is 'value as name' Any idea how I can get round this?
