• Access denied error when building project in Xcode after fresh SVN checkout

  I am seeing 2 strange access denied errors which I cant solve. • How to enter into BusyBox when booting?

  I have occasionally installed cloud-init package in Ubuntu, which blocks me from booting. Neither recovery mode works. Because cloud-init installed some upstart job configuration. So I want to enter into busybox to remove /etc/init/cloud-init*.conf, but it seems like no way to do it. I can press Ctrl+Alt+SysRq which brings on a rough hack menu, but there is no busybox option. So is it possible? My CDROM is broken so I can't use Live CD too.

  I am looking for the algorithm (or combo) that would allow someone to find new longtail PPC search phrases based on say one corekeyword. Eg #1 word word corekeyword eg #2 word corekeyword word Google search tool allows a limited number vertically - mostly of eg#1 (https://adwords.google.com.au/select/KeywordToolExternal) I also know of other PPC apps that allow more volume than google adwords keyword tool, But I want to find other combos that mention the corekeyword & then naturally sort for the highest volume searched. Working example of exact match: corekeyword: copywriter (40,500 searches a month) google will serve up: become a copywriter (480 searches globally/month in english) But if I specifically look up: How to become a copywriter (720 searches a month) This exact longtail keyword phrase has 300 more searches than the 3 word version spat out by google. I want the algorithm to find any other highly search exact longtials like: how to become a copywriter Simply because it was save significant $ finding other longtail keywords after your campaign has been running an made google lots of money. I don't want a concantenation algorithm (I already have one of those), because hypothetically, I don't know what keywords will be that I want to find. Any gurus out there? Becci

• nameservers one domain one VPS and one VMCloud

  I 'had' just a single VPS with nameservers ns1 & ns2.mydomain.com. I've now taken a VMCloud package as I need space etc. Ultimately I will carefully transfer all accounts from my VPS to Cloud but in the short term I'm running both. In the new WHM on Cloud I have set hostname bla.domian nameservers as ns3 & ns4.mydomain.com with the two new ip addresses. Question is do I need to do anything else - eg where mydomain.com is registered? I want ns1 & 2 point to VPS and ns3 & 4 to point to Cloud.

• What are the Open Source alternatives to WPF/XAML?

  If we've learned anything from HTML/CSS it's that, declarative languages (like XML) work best to describe User Interfaces because: It's easy to build code preprocessors that can template the code effectively. The code is in a well defined well structured (ideally) format so it's easy to parse. The technology to effectively parse or crawl an XML based source file already exists. The UIs scripted code becomes much simpler and easier to understand. It simple enough that designers are able to design the interface themselves. Programmers suck at creating UIs so it should be made easy enough for designers. I recently took a look at the meat of a WPF application (ie. the XAML) and it looks surprisingly familiar to the declarative language style used in HTML. It's apparent to me that the current state of desktop UI development is largely fractionalized, otherwise there wouldn't be so much duplicated effort in the domain of graphical user interface design (IE. GTK, XUL, Qt, Winforms, WPF, etc). There are 45 GUI platforms for Python alone It's seems reasonable to me that there should be a general purpose, open source, standardized, platform independent, markup language for designing desktop GUIs. Much like what the W3C made HTML/CSS into. WPF, or more specifically XAML seems like a pretty likely step in the right direction. Now that the 'browser wars' are over should we look forward to a future of 'desktop gui wars?' Note: This topic is relatively subjective in the attempt to be 'future-thinking.' I think that desktop GUI development in its current state sucks ((really)hard) and, even though WPF is still in it's infancy, it presents a likely solution to the problem. I get it if I try it in PowerShell or in C# Console Application. • SEO - Problems possibly related to 301 Moved Permanently

  Right, here's the story: We have had a website for one of our brands now for many years, the site design was very bad and recently did a complete overhaul, mostly design, but also some of the backend code. The original site was using links such as this example.com/products/item/127 and thus I wanted to change them to be move user friendly, especially to include the product name, the same link now reads example.com/product/127/my-jucy-product/. Since our switch over we have seen our Google results take a beating (we were on the first page for our normal search terms, now we're nearer the 4th!). The other problem we're having is that the links to the old products haven't updated to the new links despite me coding a 301 redirect from old to new. The 301 is not being fired from .htaccess, but in our PHP framework. I had a look at how the site is being loaded from a old link that is still in Google and here's what firebug is reporting: GET <google link> 302 Found GET example.com/products/item/127 302 Found GET example.com/products/item/127 301 Moved Permanently GET example.com/product/127/my-jucy-product/ 302 Found So the Google link has a 302, good. But when the old link comes in our framework is returning a 302! It's only afterwards when it finally hits the right part of the framework does it 301, so here's my question: Is the reason our old links have not changed and our Google Ranking has significantly nose dived because Google is seeing a 302 before the 301? At the time I was reluctant to mess with our .htaccess because it had become pretty complicated and I was under some pretty intense time constraints, now I'm wondering whether this was an incorrect disicion and perhaps I should revisit it. Many thanks! Edit Bugger, just signed up to the Webmaster Tools and I'm getting redirect errors all over the place, hundreds of them! I think this is my problem.

But Microsoft's game platform, XNA Studio is based on programming in C# and I didn't find any popular game which was developed using XNA. • Cannot change the target CPU to x86 Or x64 in Visual Studio 2005

  I am trying to build a website application and specify the target CPU as x86 instead of Any CPU. The only choices I have in Configuration Manager under the "Active solution platform:" drop-down list are: "Any CPU", "Edit..", and "New...". In the "Project Contexts" portion of the "Configuration Manager" window, it lists 3 columns: "Project", "Configuration" and "Platform". Under the "Platform" column, my only choice is ".Net". when the "Active solution configuration" is set to, "Debug". When the, ""Active solution configuration" is set to "Release", then I can choose either, ".Net" or "Any CPU" under the "Platform" column. I am using Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition. This website was previously built using Visual Studio .NET and was recently upgraded using the Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition Upgrade Wizard. I need to target x86 specifically because the are components used in the project that are only x86 compatible.

• Selenium tests not building due to NUnit error (Mono+OS X)

  I'm running Selenium RC on my Mac and driving my tests using NUnit in C#. My problem is that when I try and build a simple test in Mono I get the following error. • How to host a scalable social networking app

  I am in the middle of developing a social networking application for a very select user niche which could scale to a few million users. Right now I have always hosted applications on RackSpace Cloud and I have no issues with them at all - always been a really good service and never had any downtime. My question is though does anyone think that cloud computing is not the way to host scalable web apps? Or can anyone with experience of this recommend a better solution. I have always shunned trying to run big servers from my own facilities as I think it seems silly to go to the expense of bringing in big alternative power supplies and all the other necessary precautions when other companies already do this. I looked at managed hosting services but this proved to be a bit too expensive for us at the start and the scalability of it wasnt good enough - it would take a day or two to get a new server provisioned. Therefore I ended up on a cloud platform. If anyone has any recommendations or advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Currently, we use EC2 for a small instance and have a need for another large/extra-large instance as we are beginning to deploy to the Cloud and get ready to release our "alpha" version. While EC2 was my choice for numerous reasons (reliability, accessibility - small team is geographically dispersed, maintainability, and things of that nature), it appears to be rather expensive. While the product will ultimately be deployed in the Cloud (be it EC2 or otherwise) and that experience would help the development team, would it make sense to purchase a physical server and stick it in the basement or bite the bullet and pay the price for EC2 (or other Cloud Providers)? Sources are shared, but each platform requires separate makefiles, project files, solutions etc. There are two ways I can organize them: Intermixed in a single hierarchy of folders With separate folders for platform-dependent files The first solution creates some confusion about which file belongs to which platform, but the second causes some repetition of the folders structure (some compilers require each project to have a separate folder). • Combine Search Bar and URL Bar into One (WebView)

  So I'm in the midst of updating my Web Browser app for iOS devices, from the ground up, and I'm trying to implement some more convenient features. One feature that seems to be really popular now, that I have been getting a lot of requests for, is the combination of a Google Search bar and a URL bar in one, like that of the Chrome application. Below is a screenshot of the Google Chrome app, and as you can see, they've made it so you can either enter in a search query like "apple ipad" and it will return a Google search page of 'Apple iPad', or you can enter in a URL "http://apple.com/ipad/" and it will load that URL. I have looked all over the internet, but all I could find were tutorials on how to Search Google with value of the UITextField. I have a feeling that the best way to do this is to probably make a 'check'. Like if the entered value contains 'http://' 'www.' '.com' or no spaces, then load it as a URL, if not then load it in a Google Search page, and then have the webview load up the Google Search page. If anybody could show me to the right direction, that would be great, or even supplying me with some code would be even greater. :) Thanks! If anyone needs part of the code, just ask.
