  • Use the output of a command as input of the next command

    so i call this php script from the command line : /usr/bin/php /var/www/bims/index.php "projects/output" and it's output is : file1 file2 file3 What I would like to do is get this output and feed to the "rm" command but i think im not doing it right : /usr/bin/php /var/www/bims/index.php "projects/output" | rm My goal is to delete whatever file names the php script outputs. What should be the proper way to do this? Thanks!

  • Intents? How to register to be alerted for incoming emails?

    Extreme Android developer newbie here...well, new to Android development, not development in general. I want to write an application that gets notified when emails come into the device, and takes various actions based on data in the email (subject, sender, to, etc). I think what I have to do is create a BroadcastReceiver with an IntentFilter. The problem I'm having is figuring out what Intent(s) I need to "listen" for. Can anyone point me in the right direction?     Why does <xsl:if test="<XPATH to boolean value here>"> ... </xsl:if> ALWAYS return true? Since boolean can be 0,1,"false" and "true" by definition, the ONLY way to test for a boolean value is to do string comparison against these. This can't be right.

  • Jquery slider going the wrong way

    Im using a jquery slider and having an issue with what direction it scrolls on click. It seems to screw up after clicking the right arrow then left, but will scroll left if clicked first, weird. Is this a bug or am I missing something here?     Hi, I have a StreamReader object that I initialized with a stream, now I want to save this stream to disk (the stream may be a gif or jpg or pdf etc). SO my code so far is: StreamReader sr = new StreamReader(myOtherObject.InputStream); I need to save this to disk (I have the filename). In the future I may want to store this to sqlserver I have the encoding type also, which I will need if I store it to sql server right?

    Let's say I have a string like: $text = "<object>item_id1a2b3</object>xxx<object>item_id4c5d6</object>" I want to convert it to: %ITEM:1a2b3xxx%ITEM:4c5d6 Here's what I've got: $text = preg_replace("/<object.*item_id([a-zA-Z0-9]+).*<\/object/","%ITEM:$1",$text); This isn't quite right, as the search is greedy.   • C++ vector and segmentation faults

    I am working on a simple mathematical parser. Something that just reads number = 1 + 2; I have a vector containing these tokens. They store a type and string value of the character. I am trying to step through the vector to build an AST of these tokens, and I keep getting segmentation faults, even when I am under the impression my code should prevent this from happening.     In Visual Studio 2010 (RC) there is no longer a "browse with" context menu when right clicking .aspx pages. How can you change the default browser now? By default it seems to use the operating system default browser, but I would prefer to use IE when debugging ASP.net apps. (I am testing this with ASP.net MVC 2)

  • How to remove "Standard Error" column from xtable() output of an lm on R/RSweave/LaTeX

    I'm currently doing some data analysis on population data, so reporting the standard errors in the tables of parameter coefficients just doesn't really make statistical sense. I've done a fair bit of searching and can't find any way to customize the xtable output to remove it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?     Is it possible to include a Silverlight (3) out-of-browser application to the add-or-remove programs list? The intention is to be able to remove the OOB application that way (not just by right-clicking from within the running app)? If the OOB app is installed with a shortcut to the desktop and you try to delete the shortcut you are presented with the standard 'you are just deleting a shortcut if you want to delete the application go to add or remove programs' dialog. I want to tidy up this inconsistency.
