• Rails, destroy if blank

  This might sound odd, but is there a 'Rails way' to have a model destroyed if a certain attribute is blank? Say I have a model like tags with just a name attribute or something, if the user edits the tag and deletes all the text out of the name field in the form I'd like the model to just be deleted. I'm aware of the reject_if method, but that doesn't seem to work.

I was thinking of a bar, which have 10 ' | ' you can move the cursor from one to ten (it doesn't have to be AJAX because the rating is only added at the end of the form) I'm sure you already seend this king of thing but i actually can't find any plugin of it.   SO Question: jQuery Validate - require at least one field in a group to be filled I uses the sample rule from the above link and it works, but the problem was it overrides the fields that going to be validated it jumps directly to the group validation, when validates a form the messages in my error container only contains error for the group fields.

I need to store the entered sign up credentials in any database(Oracle, Service based database, local database).   I have data in the form of four columns. The first three columns represent time, value1, value 2. The fourth column is binary, all 0's or 1's. Is there a way to tell excel to delete time, value1 and value 2, when the corresponding binary value in column four is 0?   I'm collecting text through a web form and noticing that when it is collected by my Perl CGI all instances of "+" are transformed into " ". I run the text through a JavaScript escape before submission, but escape seems to leave + unaltered. There must be something really obvious that I'm missing... how do I send the string "2 + 2 = 4" through and not have it arrive as "2 2 = 4"?

  I've got a problem with CKEditor. Especially the br- and img-Tags are transformed to not be valid. In the source-view I see and but when I inspect the rte-source the slashes are gone as well as when submitting the form. Can someone tell me where I can disable this or enable XHTML-conformity?   Oh gosh here a lot today - oops Folks, best way to do this: $j('.done').append('Your services have been updated'); (that bits done) but then remove the append after say 5 seconds so that if a person resubmits a form(allowed) the append does not continue adding the text? i.e updated once "Your services have been updated", twice would read "Your services have been updated Your services have been updated" but I would only want Your services have been updated to show once

  I'm wondering if the following method will completely prevent CSRF, and be compatible with all users. Here it is: In the form just include an extra parameter that is: encrypted(user's userID + request time). Server-side just decrypt and make sure it's the right userID and the request time was reasonably recent. Aside from someone sniffing the user's traffic, is this completely secure? Are there any downsides?
