  • Copy filename to clipboard

    - by Charles Roper
    I am looking for a Windows utility that can copy the currently selected filename, including the path, to the clipboard, ideally through the right-click menu. Some degree of flexibility would be useful, like the ability to copy just the filename, path+filename, filename minus extension, etc. This isn't essential, though, as long as it can copy the path+filename. Must be compatible with XP, Vista and Win7. Free and/or open source would be ideal. Thanks!

  • How to add "most recent emails from this user" to Gmail inbox as a sidebar

    - by Scott B
    I use and love gmail. However, since i use email for customer support, I'm always doing a cross reference lookup via the search feature to see my past conversations with the person whose email I'm reading. I'd love to have a right sidebar widget that shows me, for any email I choose to read, the list of previous conversations/emails with that person. Is this possible? I'm using Chrome Ideally, this sidebar would bump or replace the contextual ads that now display over there.

  • How do I connect to my InterBase db on a Windows Server from Delphi XE?

    - by chris
    I have installed InterBase on a Windows Server 2008, added a database through IBConsole and I'm trying to set up a connection to it from Delphi XE. I've clicked on the DataExplorer tab and right clicked "INTERBASE/Add New Connection". This is where I am having trouble setting it up correctly. Anyone know this stuff? I'm waaaay out of my comfort zone here but I'm helping some people out and I'm trying to get this to work myself so that I hopefully can fix the problems they are having.

  • ~/.profile does not run on startup

    - by pocoa
    I want to run some scripts at system startup, so in ~/.profile file, I've added: WORKSPACE="~/Development/workspace" alias workspace="cd $WORKSPACE" So I want this "workspace" alias to be available after the startup. Maybe it's not the right place to define these variables.

  • Checking rtp stream audio quality.

    - by chills42
    We are working in a test environment and need to monitor the audio quality of an rtp stream that is being captured using tshark. Right now we are able to capture the audio and access the file through wireshark, but we would like to find a way to save the audio to a .wav file (or similar) via the command line. Does anyone know of a tool that can do this?

    - by dan
    Hi, I need to ssh into a linux box. The server admin gave me a public and private ssh key. When I'm trying to login with the private key the login times out ("Operation timed out"). I'm using this command to login: ssh -v -i /path/to/private_key host What would be the right way to login? Do I need the public key for authentication? Thanks for any help.

  • In your ssh config is it possible to have one host entry for multiple machines on the same domain

    - by Joshua Olson
    I'd like to be able to do something like Host * HostName *.mydomain.com ... So I can type something like ssh test ssh ci ssh dev Instead of having to type ssh test.mydomain.com ssh ci.mydomain.com ssh dev.mydomain.com Right now I have separate entries for each one, but we have dozens of machines, so I'd rather have a default rather than have to duplicate everything so many times.

  • modalpopupextender.Show() wont fire

    - by Peter Lea
    I'm pretty new to developing for the web so bare with me. I have a company page with multiple locations and emails etc at each of these addresses. The idea is to have a single modalpopup to edit each type of data (one for email, one for urls, one for addresses etc). I link the modalpopupextender to a hiddenbutton and then call an edit function from various places where I can populate some hiddenfields and textboxes in the panel before showing it. The code executes but it just wont show the damn popup, I just see a flash and can't figure out if its my panel, my css or something I don't understand about ajax and postbacks etc. Things i've tried after reading various threads: Disable smart navigation in web.config Move ToolKitScriptManager up to master page and use proxy in content set hiddenbutton to use style="display:none" tried links etc instead of hidden button Heres my code CSS .modalBackground { position: absolute; z-index: 100; top: 0px; left: 0px; background-color: #000; filter: alpha(opacity=60); -moz-opacity: 0.6; opacity: 0.6; } .modalPopup { background-color: #FFD; border-width: 3px; border-style: solid; border-color: gray; padding: 3px;} Asp/html <ajaxToolkit:ModalPopupExtender runat="server" ID="mpe_email" BackgroundCssClass="modalBackground" PopupControlID="modal_email" CancelControlID="btn_cancel_email" TargetControlID="fake_btn_email" /> <asp:Button ID="fake_btn_email" runat="server" Text="email" style="display:none;" /> <asp:panel id="modal_email" runat="server" class="modalPopup" Width="500px" Height="500px"> <asp:HiddenField ID="hf_modal_email_location_id" runat="server" Value="" /> <asp:HiddenField ID="hf_modal_email_contact_id" runat="server" Value="" /> <asp:HiddenField ID="hf_modal_email_comms_id" runat="server" Value="" /> <table width="100%"> <tr> <td> <asp:Label ID="lbl_mpe_email_title" runat="server" Text="Edit Email Address" /> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> <table width="100%"> <tr> <td width="40px"><img src="../images/email.png" height="30px" width="30px"/></td> <td> <table width="100px"> <tr> <td><span>Quick Ref: <asp:TextBox ID="txb_mpe_email_qref" runat="server" Text="" /></span></td> </tr> <tr> <td><span>Email Address: <asp:TextBox ID="txb_mpe_email_address_full" runat="server" Text="" /></span></td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> <tr> <td width="40px" align="left"><asp:Button ID="btn_cancel_email" runat="server" Text="Cancel"/></td> <td align="right"><asp:Button ID="btn_save_email" runat="server" Text="Save" OnCommand="save_modal_email" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2" align="right"><asp:Label ID="lbl_mpe_email_err" runat="server" Text="" /></td> </tr> </table> c# public void oloc_ocon_email_edit(object sender, RepeaterCommandEventArgs e) { switch (e.CommandName) { case "edit": hf_modal_email_location_id.Value = ((HiddenField)e.Item.FindControl("hf_oloc_ocon_emails_location_id")).Value; hf_modal_email_contact_id.Value = ((HiddenField)e.Item.FindControl("hf_oloc_ocon_emails_contact_id")).Value; hf_modal_email_comms_id.Value = ((HiddenField)e.Item.FindControl("hf_oloc_ocon_emails_comms_id")).Value; lbl_mpe_email_title.Text = "Edit Email Address"; txb_mpe_email_qref.Text = ((HiddenField)e.Item.FindControl("hf_oloc_ocon_emails_qref")).Value; txb_mpe_email_address_full.Text = ((HiddenField)e.Item.FindControl("hf_oloc_ocon_emails_email_full")).Value; lbl_mpe_email_err.Text = ""; mpe_email.Show(); break; case "new": hf_modal_email_location_id.Value = ((HiddenField)e.Item.FindControl("hf_oloc_ocon_emails_location_id_p")).Value; hf_modal_email_contact_id.Value = ((HiddenField)e.Item.FindControl("hf_oloc_ocon_emails_contact_id_p")).Value; hf_modal_email_comms_id.Value = "0"; lbl_mpe_email_title.Text = "New Email Address"; txb_mpe_email_qref.Text = ""; txb_mpe_email_address_full.Text = ""; lbl_mpe_email_err.Text = ""; mpe_email.Show(); break; } } Stuff makes so much more sense in a desktop environment, I hope someone can point me in the right direction.   • Assign a secondary IP address to a Windows machine using DHCP

    - by IndigoFire
    Is it possible to configure dhcpd (on a Linux box) to assign a Windows PC 2 separate IP configurations? Right now I've configured the two IP addresses manually and it does exactly what's needed, but I can't figure out how to achieve the same thing with DHCP. For example, is it possible to set up a virtual interface that piggy-backs onto the first interface and gets its own configuration? Alternatively, is it possible to run a script upon getting IP values from DHCP that would then be able to configure the secondary IP?

  • Backup tools free trial limitations

    - by Raphael Royer-Rivard
    I would like to use a backup tool like Acronis or Crashplan in case I encounter a serious problem with my computer and I want to restore it like it is right now. They both have a free trial of 30 days but they do not seem to explain explicitly what won't be functional after the trial period. Is the restore feature still available after the trial period or must my computer die within the 30 days for this trial to be useful?

    I've red this article from howtogeek, but it didn't explain this one which is placed in the target portion when you right click on windows explorer and click properties: %windir%\explorer.exe shell:desktop\Inbox And why does local disk E: shows up when I have this one: %windir%\explorer.exe shell:E:\FINAL SAVE DATA I don't really get the code, especially the part in shell: desktop\Inbox. What's that supposed to mean. How do I change it so that when I click on the Windows Explorer shortcut, I get to see this location: E:\FINAL SAVE DATA

    - by Gnijuohz
    I want to install qt4reactor so I went to the github page, it says: Unpack this directory into your PYTHONPATH I don't know what that means. I unziped the file and I tried to add the path to PYTHOPNPATH in the .bashrc file like this: export PYTHONPATH=/home/jacos/qtreactor But I can't import it whatsoever. What I want to ask is where exactly is my PYTHONPATH? How can I find that out? What's the right way to do this?

  • Migrating Windows Server 2003 installation to new hardware

    - by Alex
    I have a Windows 2003 Server that I want to migrate to new hardware. All the setup and configuration was done by my predecessor. Right now I'm in a real time crunch and I just want to copy all the files and settings to the new machine. Is there an easy way to do this or do I need to manually copy all the files and add all the settings? Microsoft KB suggests "Automated System Recovery", is this the best way forward?

  • Download multiple RSS attachments in Outlook

    - by Stuart Jones
    Does anyone know, please, how one can download multiple RSS attachements? If one right clicks on an RSS message, Outlook will download the attached conent from the RSS feed but this needs to be done a message at a time. While the "Account Settings" tab will allow future attachements to be downloaded with the RSS message, is there any way this can be done to download multiple RSS attachments, so they do not have to be done one by one?
